Ark Survival Ascended - EP1 (The Start of a New Adventure)

are you the one I've been waiting for uh probably not you might be I doubt it I hope so well my dad used to say you can hope in one hand and in the other see which one fills up first oh here we go baby the start of a new adventure Ark survival ascended on the island man we haven't been here in a while we did pretty well last time we were here though 20 episodes not one death until we got to The Brood mother anyway I hope to do just as well if not better this time around hey here comes a supply drop we'll go get that in a minute but look how good this place looks look at the water oh man that's ridiculous let's have a look inside shall we pretty nice all right let's get out of here before something tries to kill me I mean no matter where we go something's going to try and kill me right that's the name of the game all right we're going to head this way and grab that supply drop but then I want to turn around and head the opposite way I want to go east and head up the east side of the island since the last time we were here we went up the west side and then eventually set up our main base on the west side of the Redwood Forest which worked out good for us but I'd like to do things differently here so we're going to go up the east side and I think eventually settle near the mall is where I want to make our main base which is like the North east side of the Redwood Forest it's by the volcano it's very centralized location so I think that will do well but I'm in no rush to get there you know that's what I want to do different this time around I'm not going to Full Speed Ahead this we're going to stop and smell the roses you know um in terms of the settings here I've got this maxed out on Epic with RTX on the only thing I turned off was footsteps cuz I found when there's a lot of dinosaurs around and I'm running really fast I was getting a lot of stuttering I still am getting a little stuttering here and there but I figured dude we got to run this on Epic with the I want I want to see how good this can look you know I mean if it gets too bad we can tune the settings down a bit but for now I'm leaving them maxed out and we're going to see how it does and keep in mind this just came out so there are going to be optimization updates that are going to make it better hopefully anyway there's another level let's go wait again and let's go get this drop oh a bunch of cooked meat fiber Stone a flag and a cooking pot not a bad start get out of here there's something big over there might as well unlock the uh campfire pants and shirt and as a matter of fact let's go ahead and craft the pants and the shirt another level I am going wait again and let's unlock the water skin gloves and that's all we can do right now can I is this is this just no that's nothing oh they're they're white now jeez I look like a cult member I look like I'm about to poison the Kool-Aid with cyanide check this out dodos actually attack you back now well oh you got to give them a chance to uh but they do for real I attacked uh a mom dodo she had some babies and she went off on me a hot dog too hot dog attacked me back and if a hot dog and a Dodo will attack you back I imagine any dinosaur will fight back when attacked now so that's interesting oh now I really look like I'm in a cult I look like my name is the leader I look like I make my followers feel loved and accepted and then I bang them all come on baby come get some no oh whatever and the beach should start to turn north here soon I don't want to build on the very south end I'd like to head up north a bit oh these stupid wooden Spears broke on this little guy really that's why I like to always keep at least four or five on me there's another level he some poop uh we are level five I'm putting that point into weight let's unlock the storage box and I was thinking we would skip thatch and go right for wood that's at level 11 but you know what screw it we'll build out a thatch and then we'll upgrade to Wood we'll get more XP that way I think so anyway in terms of game settings I've got the difficulty set to hard cuz why the hell not you know that should give us higher level dinos I imagine um I stretched out the day length so the days are going to be twice as long nights twice as short uh I upped the Harvest amount just a little bit but not the Harvest XP multiplier I didn't up any XP multipliers I want to level up you know normally uh and everything else is default I wanted basically like you know a standard default run I didn't want to with too much of the settings here we go and here's our first Dino dude how easy was that your name is going to be Doug funny I was thinking we do cartoon characters for dino names in this run could be fun all right Doug funny level 104 let's go kill some hey there's another one is that a female can we get a Mrs Patty May for Doug oh you want prime meat it is a female well sorry Doug she's too high maintenance for us right now don't lose hope we'll find you with Patty mayonnaise uh-oh the baby is in the quicksand it looks like hey get out of my way now you die where you going come back and fight oh it is coming back to fight stuck now you die doggy got a level let's go health and melee damage oh let's get out of here no it wants to fight me oh no two Raptors one Doug nice a third one son of a get him Doug yes that's how you do it Doug funny man we locked out finding a high level I mean if we didn't find him we would have just been dead right there oh metal axe I'll take that I'm pretty sure this is Dre's Cove up ahead which means we are on the far East side of the map which is great it's exactly where I want to be I think we'll build in the Cove then there's another Raptor let me get my meat hide at a dog in case he dies well here we go come on get him Doug oh no we're dead we are dead cuz she's going to kill Doug and then she's going to kill us oh thank you brosaurus oh you you son of a I'm out of here oh rest in peace Doug catch you in the next life man that brosaurus saved our life and then murdered Doug well that's the way the cookie crumbles except this time it wasn't a cookie crumbling it was Doug oh nice catch you want another one now I got to be careful I only have two Spears left there we go and there's another level and I feel like we're leveling up pretty fast even though like I said I did not with the XP multipliers at all we're level seven already all right we're in the cove and that is where we're going to build right on the shore here I think it's a good location it's not Mega rich with resources but that's fine we just need a place to call home for now place to put down a bed and some storage maybe a furnace and a Smithy for now just to get us on our feet and eventually we'll move up north and build uh a more permanent residence all right let's get uh some storage down I'm sure we're going to need more wood for that yep let's get it and by the time we're done building this out of thatch we will probably be at a point to where we can unlock the wood structures and then we'll upgrade to Wood and doing that will level us up even more let's get the bed unlocked oh what's happening a Raptor fighting a turtle right near our house I pooped it's a good time to poop because we're probably going to die um didn't even get a chance to put the bed down yet what are the chances that Turtle beats the Raptor should we go help the turtle oh I guess so get him turtle um here comes a spear who' I get I think I got the turtle my bad yes oh whoops I was trying to help you that's what happens listen don't even all right I was trying to help him you don't want to you don't want to do this yes just walk away no don't I said well the other one has decided to leave we got to be careful it could be back at any moment though let's get some stuff into storage and we need to get more Spears crafted cuz I've only got one oh speak of the devil you son of a well now I really need more Spears Flint I need Flint oh boy no no no you don't get to run away again that ship has sailed damn it I should be trying to tame this thing instead of trying to murder it but she just won't listen to reason come on how many Spears I got to stick in your little stupid turtle head turtle head uh I need more Spears wood this is is I should be building right now instead I'm around trying to murder a turtle oh God come on spear come on there it is stupid this is so stupid die die die die oh no this is ridiculous Honestly though this is why I love the game the Ridiculousness sucks me right in so basically you only have to craft walls now and before you place the wall you can press R to go through the different shapes like a door frame all right now we need a ceiling the walls are much taller here now as well so so we can get away with just doing one high instead of always having to build two high cuz one high always felt so cramped look that's nice no reason to go too high unless you want a second story there is what appears to be an alpha Raptor over there so uh oh please don't come over here come on things are going so well for me go away go we're level 10 right now so if we can just level up once more I can unlock all the wood structures and we can start upgrading oh get out of here you little all right we actually got it so let's go health and stamina and get these wood pieces unlocked and that Raptor seems to have uh gone away so that's good hey little baby dolo I think I might have killed your mom I'll raise you though you want to be my baby no that's a shame let me grab some more hide out of here I forgot to craft a water skin I mean dude hunger and thirst definitely deplete a lot slower now not that I ever put points into hunger and thirst but it's nice you don't have to worry about it so much we got another level let's throw that point into weight let's unlock the spy glass and the Bola and let's actually get a few Bolas crafted just in case another Raptor shows up there's that baby Doo again what can I do with this thing you got to be able to do something with the babies can I feed you berries you want a berry no you don't want a berry maybe you want some meat you want some of this raw meat huh no all right well good luck on your own then okay that's all the walls now we got to start uh putting a ceiling in I like using the windows for all the walls because I feel like if some does go down then I can uh you know melee through the open window or maybe even throw a Bola through the open window all right there we go man you can get a lot of work done in a day day when you stretch the days out long as I want my meat oh damn you can't cook meat in a cooking pot well I guess I got to make some campfires there we go the cooking pot is I guess just used for recipes which I need to get more educated on especially like the kibble and let's grab some meat and the spoiled meat and we'll split this stack into all and that will make it spoil faster cuz we're going to need that and narcoberries to start making narcotics baby that's what it's all about drugs there we go that's better those white pajamas were a little unsettling okay we got some bigger storage now and I was able to pick up the small storage boxes so we'll put those down uh well we'll put one right here and one by the bed well I'm feeling good about our base we got like two days worth of work done in one day because like I said I stretched the day length out but I still I'm feeling a bit insecure in terms of our defenses so I'm going to go see if I can find another maso chops hopefully one that just wants berries you know another Doug funny cuz then I'll feel I'll feel much better having at least one Dino to help defend our base oh flying ants hey that's free chitten no it's not pronounced kitan you nerd it's chitten really do you want some of this oh it's good to be back here we are oh please want berries oh you want Tinto berries no problem I can get those bam there we go baby your name is Doug funny to not two as in also to as in the number two cuz you're the second one what happened to the first one uh he retired listen you survive the rest of the day and I'll remove the number two and you can just be Doug funny you know what maybe we should go uh around these sons of these are the dinosaurs that retired the first thg funny so let's not have that happen again piranhas get the out of here one point let's go melee damage oh come on all I want to do is get home no no yes bye baby Raptor what are you going to do now huh Daddy's dead I shouldn't have said that that was mean true though come on give me that meat well that was a pretty good first day if I don't say so myself both of those points are going into melee damage and Doug funny seems pretty happy about that level 85 that's not bad not as good as Doug funny one but I'll take it I do feel a little more secure now having him around all right well I guess that's going to be it for this episode I'm going to spend the rest of the day Gathering resources uh probably a lot of stone I need to get a furnace or two put down and we'll pick
