XRS47 handguard set, those are kickass. Fits well with Zenitco accessories as well bc of those diagonal cuts on the set

Looks like either a Midwest industries or zenitco, but I would guess Midwest industries universal Mlok Handguard and rail.

EDIT: I’m wrong

this episode was brought to you by slate black industries for mlok grips and accessories visit [Applause] slateblackindustries.com [Applause] now we've taken numerous kalashnikovs out on this show before and most of them have actually performed quite well the same goes for short barreled ars or ar pistols now that might not necessarily be the case today it's all dependent upon your perspective really but we want to certainly suggest that you stick around for the debrief portion of this particular practical accuracy run because we are going to overlay some additional shooting and commentary specific to what you're about to see we'll see you guys in the debrief and hope you enjoyed the run [Music] all right i am set at 150 yards impact good impact neutralized we are on at two zero zero impact oh malfunction yikes anytime there's a malfunction there's obviously a lot of questions and commentary in the comment section of the video what i want you to understand is that in this particular instance we were testing and evaluating the longevity of this particular firearm without cleaning so we were probably about 2 200 to 2500 rounds in of suppressed 556 through this setup without cleaning it so as you might imagine the hammer face the bottom of the carrier group the chamber is all caked with carbon and we wanted to see how long we could push this as part of collecting data for you guys for the long term classic review which will ultimately be coming for this particular firearm and what you're seeing here is the starts of some of the failure points so we are pushing the particular setup well beyond what we would normally do where we would take care of or otherwise maintain our firearms to see what would happen and that's what you're seeing here all right back to the run i i haven't seen anything about functions that's the first time what what happened to you think uh i don't know i'll find out see if it does anything else i mean i haven't cleaned it you're also shooting at suppressed impact that's neutralized all right go ahead proceed let's see let's proceed to two five zero stand by left side elevation is on the top one thirds impact left edge elevation's good impact elevations good you are on at three zero zero impact neutralized all right go ahead proceed to three five zero stand by uh target and a half to the left on the elevation of the bar right side elevation elevation's good you're about half target to the right uh at the leg of the target that's an impact that's an impact so that's a neutralized shot yep you ready to progress towards four we are firing ready it's a good impact good impact neutralized when are you changing to the second dot right now i that was a direct bracket in between the two okay all right we are on at four five zero five and ready uh left edge elevation's just slightly low on the lower one third but you're on the left edge right edge almost the exact opposite elevation is the same on the lower one third that's good impact square on that's 20 down okay yeah i'm definitely i'm really struggling being able to try to find out where the target is in relation to that second dot uh-huh because it's the target's obviously quite small at this distance yeah it's all kind of bleeding together on me right side on the edge at the very low edge of the target right right edge elevation is better that was on the top left half a target high on the left edge as on the right let's see half target right um where the strap is on on elevation is your suppressor on tight yeah okay uh bottom left right side uh same elevation half target okay elevation is good but you're still half a target to the right left side um strap length uh one target left that's an impact all right so i it's definitely it's not a faster than the gun it's uh i think it's a limitation of my eyes and how i'm perceiving the sight okay because the the advantage of the double dot eotech is that you have a very the exps-2 as opposed to zero is you have quite a bit of um advantage in so far as you have the bdc right yeah or a form of btc the problem is at least for me in my eye the eotech is already kind of pixelated and so i'm seeing like the pixelation up top the pixelation down the middle and the target is like in behind all the pixelation it seems to be quite difficult to aim you know that that i do think there is a disadvantage to the holographic sights versus the diode sites yeah because the diode sites are so much more crisper right um i.e the um even though this is even though this is only a 1moa dot right right it still feels like it's it's because of the low resolution right um perhaps uh a magnifier would help with that yeah i mean unfortunately with this type of rail setup there's really not any space for the magnifier i could i could potentially jam this forward and fit a magnifier there i guess but yes agreed so let's try to finish it out i'm on at five all right no observation left side nine o'clock one target length to the left uh that is your 10 11 o'clock position bottom right uh at your four o'clock position elevation is at the base right underneath the target top right because that that was a solid second dot hold so i'm going to try to just favor lower portion of the plate with that second dot okay nine o'clock uh half target to the left nine o'clock off to the left do you think there's a possibility that it's actually landing on but not moving it i don't know that's it i i don't see it moving though that's a thing that's it i'm i'm out that's my 40. the most important thing here the most obvious thing i think was my inability to effectively utilize this particular sighting system so we were shooting an exps2 which means there are actually two dots within the donut of this particular reticle i was having a lot of difficulty perceiving where the target was in relation to these points within the reticle now again we're not shooting at humanoid size targets which is what this reticle style was designed for instead we're shooting at sub torso sub c zone even size targets especially the 450 yard target is is like that it's actually smaller than a c-zone so i was having trouble seeing exactly where that target was between the upper and lower dots because for that particular hold i was sort of having to hold with the target bracketed between them and then holding for wind off to the side and as some of you may be familiar the eotech reticle has pixelation in it as you're looking through it and so with the environmentals of the day a midday shoot with the sun nice and high very hot sweat trying to perceive where those particular dots were in relation to the target i found very very difficult i found myself having to actually pull the reticle off target refocus on the target and then bring the reticle back in hopes of being able to more appropriately understand exactly where the reticle was in relation to the target so not an optimal sighting selection choice for this particular implementation although we've shot red dots iron sights etc out to 500 plus on the show before so again maybe this comes down to a purely shooter error component where i just need some more practice on that particular reticle or maybe a different red dot or something like the primary arms two times or the cyclops would be more effective a prism style optic with gradated lines and reference points for aiming secondarily let's talk about ammunition selection we're shooting 55 grain ball it's not optimal for securing hits at distance we understand that however we've shot it on various other platforms and through various other platforms on other runs and secured hits including a 10 and a half inch ar pistol so to suggest that that particular component was the determining factor would be disingenuous although in easy out because of course we weren't shooting around super effective at those ranges that also partly comes back to barrel twist this is a one and nine twist barrel so shooting a big heavy pill like a 77 or the mark 262 round just isn't necessarily possible the barrel simply can't stabilize it unlike the ar pistol and the gordon carbine this ak prints probably about double the group size of those particular firearms so we're seeing groups in the three and a half to four and a half inch range now that's not all too awful for a kalashnikov it's probably on the wider side again we're shooting nine shot groups in accordance with how we generally test the accuracy of these firearms so wasn't optimal wasn't great and when we get out to those further distances beyond 400 yards which is really where we started to see a pretty dramatic drop off in the capability of this particular platform on the size targets we're shooting a four moa gun is in some instances simply going to have a cone of deviation that causes some rounds not all of them but some rounds to miss the target even if the hold was a good hole to secure an impact with all that said we believe that those are some of the contributing factors that led to well sort of an underwhelming performance beyond 400 yards with that said we knew we could get some hits at 500. so we went back out to another 500 yard range out at the ranch here in eagle lake texas and we took some shots to see what we would be able to achieve just sitting down fresh at 500 yards the results were not too dissimilar in fact they reinforced what we had seen during the practical accuracy run we weren't able to achieve repeatable hits at 500 yes we did secure some hits yes more than enough to clear on our standard practical accuracy course but after shooting 10 to 20 rounds and only securing maybe five or so hits it was obvious that this was a failure point for this particular system and in many cases harkens back to the question we posed just a minute ago what is this particular system designed to do and is this really detrimental that we feel that it isn't effective at the 500 450 500 yard lines well again that really comes down to perception we hope you guys enjoyed this video until the next time we'll see you on the [Music] range do you enjoy arguing with other viewers on the internet on which rifle performs better on practical accuracy well we have a solution for you go to our patreon page and scroll down you'll find the practical accuracy scoreboard where we have ranked and compiled all the data of all the firearms we have tested on the practical accuracy course furthermore it's already separated into the different categories so you can go back to your argument as quickly as possible and whether you decide to support us via patreon subscription or just a normal viewer we thank you eight packs recon one green and green top
