[Music] hi guys welcome back to my channel my name is erisa and this is arissa roo art and i'm excited again because i've come up with a mixture of ingredients that mimics the australian flow troll but doesn't involve the men wax wood conditioner because a lot of people don't like the scent of that or they're too sensitive to the sense of that because it's pretty strong i don't mind it at all but you do need to have it in a well-vented area like i was saying on that video that i um made a couple of videos videos ago so i'm going to show you what i've come up with this time and this time i'll include my pouring medium for my colors because i didn't talk about that the last video because i was excited about this part so we'll talk about everything today i'll try to make it a fast video but it may be a little long but i wanted to see show you what i've got i'll be right back okay guys i am back and i'm ready to make my cell activator pouring medium so i'm going to start off with my cup here on my scale and zero it out always so i've had i had a couple of people from the last one ask me if i can translate this into teaspoons and tablespoons and such and you can but i find it to be more accurate when you can measure down to grams or ounces even not as much but grams is going to give you the smallest increments and so you'll get a much more accurate measurement when you're combining things chemically you really want to be as accurate as possible and when you do teaspoons and stuff you really can't scrape it all out of the keyspoon so i want to really make sure that i uh get everything as accurate as possible so i measure on this kitchen scale i put the link of the to this in my um description i just got it on amazon and it wasn't too much money or anything like that but that's why i do grams um so i'm going to show you what i've put in the only ingredient that i changed here was the wood conditioner so let me show you what i put in here so as you already know i start off with the golden soft gel gloss for this one i'm going to do 10 grams of the soft gel gloss there you go so 10 grams of the soft gel gloss on top of that i'm gonna put four grams of the gac 900 so let me get that up to 14. and so every time you add an agreement to another ingredient mix it make sure you get them incorporated because you really want to make sure that your all your ingredients are incorporated with one another so you're not leaving anything behind or on the side so between i'm gonna get this nice and mixed up like i did last time and then i'm going to put this down and then show you the change i made and tell you why i did it so i'm really big on research i'm really big on trying to break things down and figure out why or how they are what um what they are so for the wood conditioner my biggest problem is that there it goes there's my child's hair in there oh life or it's fine i don't know so for the wood conditioner the biggest thing for me for people is the smell and they don't like that because it's so strong so i googled how to make another wood conditioner when you don't want to use minwax literally put that in i'm not the first person in the world to ask that question so google will answer it i'm not that um that unique so ask it anything very specific and so reading through all the posts and everything all the suggestions i had like lemon juice and blah blah i didn't want to put food in art so i didn't want to try lemon juice but one of the things was odorless mineral spirits i've never used it before but in just reading it it's it thins oil-based paints which means that this is something that will break down oils which means it probably is an oil complete component to it because oil loves oil oil doesn't like water there's no water product that's going to thin oil-based paints so i knew that there's going to be an oil component to this just like there's an oil component to the wood conditioner it's really thin it's like water so the wood conditioner if you shake it up it's like water whereas the linseed oil is oil it's just thick heavy oil so that's part of the reason i didn't like that so i like that it was thin like water um i like that there's an oil component to it and it says odorless but nothing is truly odorless there's an odor to it but it's really really not noxious it's not very strong it's a very subtle scent to it so i went with this but because it's not the wood conditioner i'm going to zero this with the stick inside now because i don't want to lay this down and lose product but because it's not the wood conditioner and the wood conditioner seems like it's more more just true oil i added a little more of this so for the wood conditioner i only would have added two for this i'm gonna add four grams that is i got 4.8 now that's part of the good thing about mixing because i can pour some of the the mineral spirits off because it's not it's not mixed in but the other two parts are mixed so they're not so because the mineral spirits and the gac 900 would have blended together immediately and i wouldn't be able to pour off the mineral spirit but i could because i had already mixed the gac 900 with the soft gel so this was liquid sitting on top all right so there's the mineral spirits in there next comes the flow troll and for this i'm going to do 88 so zero it again keep my spinner still so i have 88 of flotrol this is american flow trial of course almost tiny bit more one more gram come on now there we go 88 there you go all right so i have 88 of the american flow troll again mix it all up my last ingredient to this is just the water and i use just regular tap water i don't use distilled water or anything but my water in my city is not heavy with minerals either so if the water in your city is heavy with minerals just use bottled uh distilled water but mine is not so for this the water i'm gonna do 26 grams there we go at 27. it'll be a little thinner and that's okay all right get that out of here for now so i don't spill my water on top of it since it's so thin all right so this is my cell activator pouring media and smelling it i have to get right in there to really smell it it's not strong at all it's very very fluid just like the australian faux draw and the feel of it feels so much like the australian flow troll so the next thing i'm going to do is mix a batch of cell activator with you i have several here but i'm going to mix up a prussian blue by amsterdam this is a cup i just used previously so i do my cell activator activators four to one except for paints that are too thick um heavy so i found artist love colors i don't i'm using the good thing about this too is that you can use the amsterdam titanium white and ma i use winsor newton mars black that's my white and black that i use with my australian flow troll it didn't work well with the other cell activator i used i created but this one works really well with those so i'm excited about that so um those work well four to one now i did make some that were uh liquitex basics and uh for those because they were a bit more uh heavy i used five to one so for four to one i'm gonna do 12 grams of this and then for the prussian blue i'm using amsterdam where did i put that i put it somewhere so i'm just going to grab another one where did i put it golly it's got to be around here there's so much stuff on my table fresh and blue come here whatever i'll grab a different one i have a few so this is the prussian blue by amsterdam i'm gonna use three of this by four to one i mean take the number the first 12 and i'm going to divide it by four which gives me three that's how you do ratios that's how it's four to one so one more drop there i'm going to get to 15. let that fall perfect i really don't see that question glue i grabbed another one down i don't know where it went so i'll take that off of there so that's my prussian blue we'll check the consistency because you really want it to be somewhat runny you really want to mix it vigorously make sure that there's no chunks at all in your cell activator because if you blow it over and there's a chunk it's going to mess up your con your composition so i don't know if you can see it's very very runny it leaves the tiniest of mounds but sinks right in no real trace that is the cell activator and then i also wanted to talk about my pouring medium because i forgot to talk about that the last time so for my pouring medium let me get rid of this here for my pouring medium i use bear premium high interior exterior high gloss enamel and the deep base 8300 that's the paint base i use and then i also use minwax polycrylic and they're clear gloss the varnish i used this two to one so 600 grams of the paint 300 grams of the varnish so when i get it the consistency this is my poor medium that i have just mixed up ready to go the consistency of my pouring medium is such that you know it's really kind of it's thick it does leave a trace there it does do a mound on a mound on a mound now if i mix my paints to this i mix this to my paints two to one also so two of this to one of the paints i don't ever like my paint that thick so for my paints when i mix them two to one i get a consistency that is very very thick and i don't like that you see it doesn't even drip off of the stick i don't want my paints to be that consistency so for that to change i add a little bit more of the gloss varnish in it i never ever ever ever add water to my my paints for booms i don't do it the gloss varnish is water-based enough but i never just add water so for me and this is not normal a lot of people like their colors thicker i don't so i add it and i'll show you the consistency that i get to because i had a few people comment on the fact that my colors were thinner than they would uh expect and they are because i don't like them thick so even that is a little too thick for me still and with this cell activator i tried it at that previous viscosity of that previous consistency and it didn't work as well as it does for the runnier one so i like it just even a little thinner than that all right so this would be perfect this is the this is how i like my paints for this i don't like them to be gloopy at all i want them to run in a good stream i want them to leave a mound on a mountain out of my own but really just disappear pretty quickly so that's the consistency i use for my paints so i'll do my neon yellow too that was metallic orange by artist loft this is neon yellow by artist loft so i'm just going to mix it and mix it and mix it i know bubbles will get incorporated if you get bubbles in it and you're gonna use them right away tap it make sure those bubbles come to the front to the top so they can disperse and so that's just about the same that's the same as my orange it's gonna fall off in a continuous stream leave a mound and disappear so that's the mixing of my paints you saw the mixing of my cell activator this is my pillow paint that i use it's glitten high endurance grab and go white in semi-glossify and i get that at walmart so that is everything so i'm gonna get you down off of i'm sorry i'm gonna get my try my spinner ready for the tiles and i'll be right back okay so i am gonna get ready to spin now full disclosure this is the second time i filmed this video both the making of that pouring medium and this part i have a whole bunch of stuff that is already there and done but i had to start over because in the background of my video i had a project that i was working for that i wasn't ready to release so you can't erase it so i had to just start over and make the whole dang video again which is fine i'll just make some more everything was already set up but i really had that you know simpsons dull moment where i was like no did i do that i sure did so we're starting again and that's okay so i'm going to make three tiles for you to show you how this works i have my uh oh spilling stuff as you can tell i was making it this is my second time making it because my little cup was my white paint cup was stuck because it's been sitting there for an hour oh i can't believe i did that all right so it's all right let's get started i'm gonna put down a base of paint here and i'll show you my colors as i do them i'm going to get my corners with hexagon tiles you don't have to do that so much but with these square tiles you really just want to get to your corners already so i'm gonna put down the metallic orange and now you'll get to see how many different colors of pouring medium of the cell activator i should say i was using it's amazing this is my neon yellow and then i have deco art americana metallics and berry and i just mixed this so there's a lot of bubbles literally just now before i started the camera over so pop bubbles as you see them if they're big there's one more coming up right there it's like a pimple under the skin i see you get out of there there you go all right so the first one i'm gonna do i'm going to do i've never used a prussian blue so let's try that i'm going to do the white with prussian blue that's saw it here so this is my amsterdam titanium white you don't want to put too much on and then i have prussian blue so you i don't know if you can see from there but there's that halo forming this is the prussian blue by um amsterdam so let's see if this works i've not tried this color yet oh it works it's so pretty let it come cup um come up together in the center a little bit before you start to blow it doesn't work as fast as some of the other colors so i'll do some of the other colors too so you can see and let it come up to the corn center on the center there we go all right let me let that do its thing oh the colors are so pretty i like that berry i'm glad i added the berry in i didn't have that last time the first time i made my video here i'm gonna let it gather before i puff in the center i like that one that this little popped up is really pretty i don't know if i like the prussian blue as much it's not as reactive so it's all it's all a trial and error thing so i'm just gonna spin this out and see what i get oh but look at those cells that do pop up oh they're so pretty i'm gonna spin it one more time lightly and i'm not gonna spend too much time puffing over i'm gonna let this one sit let it do what it wants to do for a little bit and move on to the next tile and do a different color combination of cell activators for you all put that one to the side oh it's so pretty you see that oh the cells are so pretty and the lacing is amazing all right i'm gonna get another child here put some white down at this point i'm going to use the paint on the spinner to cover my corners because waste not want night not all this stuff is expensive save what you can i have enough paint to get to the corners in the in the pillow so i'm not going to worry about just tapping out bubbles so i'm going to put a little bit of the berry a little bit of the orange around and a little bit of the yellow and on this one i'm going to use a black cell activator and a neon a fluorescent pink cell activator this is fluorescent pink by liquitex basics pop this one bubble here there we go center it a bit blow it out oh my gosh it's so cool the black hits that yellow and produces this neon light green color it's so cool ah look at that look at those little orange cells they're so pretty oh my gosh i love it so much i'm just going to let it come back together this pillow paint is not as thick as others which i appreciate it just takes more present um patience as you let it come back together because you don't want to blow down to the tile ever because then it won't come in and gather in the center so be patient oh that looks so cool and even there i don't know if you can tell there's cells all right there that is the berry surrounded by the black it looks really cool just pop a little up right there and again i'm not going to spin oh look at that one there is a bubble in my pillow paint right there that popped on through so there's a white in the center of this one little cell here so gather it as you can make them go away before you spin if you possibly can there we go one could pop in the middle that puff brought up another bubble there we go all right oh look at that oh my goodness i just get so excited because things are so pretty they're so pretty there's a bubble that's trying to pop right here i get it before i let it go just fabric from my piddle pad on here there we go oh my gosh you guys the green being produced that by that black and yellow is just so gorgeous let me see if you can see that one look at that my word that is so spectacular i love the neon pink cell activator and i've never had it work well with the australian flow troll so i really really like that this one gives me more options for cell activator oh i should put a towel down so let's try a swipe i did another swipe earlier today on a bigger canvas that again was part of my other video that you didn't get to see because my project was in the back i cannot believe i did that i'm so sorry but you'll see that one day and i'm really excited about it there's some bigger projects that are just so time consuming that i just do them off camera and i show you the result of them alright so what color shall we use to swipe on today i have a little bit of this um light blue violet by liquitex just a little bit there i'm gonna do a little bit of the yellow in there just that's so transparent and i love that you can see that light blue violet through it this is an opaque orange so i'm gonna um go around it not right on top oops and then a little bit of the berry all right so let me grab a smaller palette knife two swipe left i'll swipe with this one and what do i want to swipe with what color i'm gonna do a little bit of black and maybe a little bit of the i have a turquoise green by amsterdam and then throw a little bit of the fluorescent pink in there too so i'm gonna swipe with all three of these colors i'm just shaking it around to even it out a bit so that's my swipe color so let's go and see what we get here there we go oh it's so pretty i purposely didn't swipe there because it's going to spin off and i didn't want to lose too much of my cell activator see it's open and then let's spin it wow so the one thing i will say it seems like this cell activator makes it cloudy and a stripe swipe and i'll show you i'll put a video of the swipe i did and the other one it's super pretty but it's cloudier and so it's okay i would prefer swiping with either the minwax cell activator or the australium flow troll just to be honest but i like that one i'm just gonna do this and i'm gonna quickly swipe with a different color how about that let's see if i can get a different result and then i'll get this bigger swiping tool off and get the paint off of the back of it and let's just swipe with the pink see if we get a different result or if it's just the black that will do that because the black is so um opaque so this pink is transparent so let's see if i get a different result maybe i don't get much when that happens i get i'm getting some it's just very hard to see them because it's transparent so you'll see the color on top of all the other colors so let's swipe with some fresh and blue too just for giggles and in the end it'll be done and i won't do too much more there you see now it'll come up because the prussian blue is more opaque and maybe that's the problem if i'm swiping because i'm swiping with so many colors i'm swiping with transparent colors too and so it's not allowing the colors to shine it's uh shine through because it's just adding a transparent wash on them i'm just going to tilt this a little bit get it to the other side and let's spin it out and see what we get for this swipe oh see that oh that looks really cool i even like the fluorescent pink on there because it has that little swoosh and a swoosh so there is my swoop all right guys thank you for watching again even though you didn't watch the first one but this is my second video of this process thank you for watching please let me know what you think in the comments below if you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask i may not get back to them right away because i'm i got i'm really really busy with work and three teenage daughters and eating and sleeping and stuff i'm just saying if you have any questions below please don't hesitate to ask what i'm gonna do is get you down and show you the tiles i just made yeah get my gloves off gosh i'm gonna show you the towels i just made up close i'm gonna show you the swipe i did up close and that is the problem i swiped that canvas in the last video with a transparent color and that's why it looks a little dulled down because the transparent color is just hanging on over the other colors so this is the swipe i did earlier in my last video that you guys didn't get to see now but i really like it but do you see how it feels like it's slightly washed off in some spots like right here it's very pastely when the colors are not and that's just because i swiped with a transparent color so don't do that but wow look at all the cells on that that's so pretty so so so pretty so i'll show you i'll take you around and show you the tiles that i made during this video sorry about all my mess so there is that that is that's the first one so lots and lots and lots of cells going on in there so cool look at all that detail in there i love it love it love it love it and then here's your second one oh my gosh the way the green the green green and pink i really like those colors together so that berry and then the neon yellow that makes with the black to get that green i absolutely love them and then here is the swipe you can do it there you go so i love the prussian blue and the neon pink hanging out and this is really cool sorry about the messy petal pad but this neon pink wash with like come on little tiny cells in it let me turn around and not be upside down then that'll help but i love that that's so cool looking so there you go there's still some neon over that part that's why it looks washed out but this is where the prussian blue was primarily and you can see how amazingly crisp those lines are anyway guys i'm gonna go before this gets way too long thank you for watching thank you for dealing with my mess as i say goodbye these are the ones i made in my first videos um anyway let me know what you think in the comments please please try this recipe share if you like what you see if you know anyone who can't get australian photo hates the smell of the wood conditioner give them a share and let them watch this video and help them out to make these beautiful blooms thanks guys i will see you guys next time on the next video good night guys bye
