[Music] [Applause] [Applause] welcome everybody to Los Angeles California the city at the forefront of skateboarding since the beginning where progression happens daily out in the streets and is continued here at SLS thanks for tuning in everybody it's the women's final I pull zitzer and this is Andrew cannon and we are getting ready for a huge night of skateboarding here but first let's take a look back to London in May where skaters are trying to stack points to make it into the Olympics and it has opened up the field huge Andrew yeah we've had skaters from all over it's not just the United States in Brazil now we're seeing Japan we're seeing people from Australia all over the place coming in all competing and all pushing each other that's right and the heroes of women's skateboarding have been put on notice because there's such a young drop of talent coming up who are some of the skaters tonight we should be looking out for I think the most exciting skater out there that's really bringing in something new is hi Salil 11 years old from brazil she's got a really deep bag of difficult tricks and she's pulling him out when she needs them which is really exciting so I think as her confidence continues to grow out there under the lights in the arena I think we're gonna see a very fierce competitor man it's gonna be a great night and I think a lot of Smith is another skater to look out for from the USA she's got a deep bag of tricks she was away from the scene for a few years and she came roaring back and I can't wait to see if she puts it together here tonight but we can't discount panel Arosa so Pamela Rosa won in London qualified in in first place in the semis and this is a course perfect for lots of rails you've got lots of bump to obstacles and that's where she really excels and like we said all these skaters are trying to stack points on their way to the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year how are they gonna do it well first of all the athletes there's going to be 20 men and 20 went women per discipline Olympic field requirements are this a minimum of one Olympic continent per region so the Americas Europe Oceania Asia and Africa and the qualification period has already begun and it ends May 30th 2020 and skaters earn points with their top two placements from this season and their top four from next top 20 skaters in the world will be skating Tokyo Olympics now let's talk about how tonight's women's final works with the basics there are two sections to Street League the run section and best-trick each skater will start with two 45-second runs followed by five best-trick attempts and the top four scores count from any section now let us meet the women who will be skating in tonight's SLS World Tour Los Angeles final first in will be surprisingly not the youngest skater out at 12 years old from Japan you Mika Oda skating in her first-ever SLS final she doesn't have a deep contest history but hey she's gonna put it down almost guaranteed and then followed by the veteran from Brazil at 26 years old she is the consummate pro she can do it all and bhavani definitely a crowd favorite and you will see why in a minute and the oldest skater in tonight's field at 32 years but she is a technician and she is a talent to be reckoned with Alexis Sablan from the USA she could win she is looking for her first ever SLS win here tonight out of the Philippines she's like the women's version of sandy bond Tiago Manny Santiago with so much Stoke in the fight she's always smiling - dancing loving every minute of it out here Marlon Nadal and the defending world champion from Japan our EEC bora 17 years old she is a strategist and a technician a very very difficult to be and my my pick from earlier from the US of A a lot of Smith back in action she shredded in the qualifying rounds and she is a force here in the final [Applause] and respects from Brazil at 11 years old the youngest competitor out here tonight Raisa leo she skates like she's been on a board for 20 years and she's only 11 years old everybody loves her eisah expect big things from her and coming out of Brazil coming off a win in London Rosa she's got it all big tricks tech consistency style take a look at our start list UV Cotto will be first in followed by Leticia Bufoni Alexa sublime margin with Adele ret shamora Alana Smith and Raisa Liao and Pamela Rosa such an international field and roof three Brazilians two Americans two skaters from Japan and one from the Philippines it's an awesome field we have in our top eight it's amazing we're gonna run run in reverse order as always need to how they qualify so you pikas gonna come up first just barely squeeze your way into this final twist years old this is her first-ever SLS final first of two 45-second runs she's in such an amazing kickflip starting things off totally going against the Chris Cole flipping her board first day nice backside feeble grind take it away frontside 5050 down the hubba the frontside flips super close Andrew what do you think advantage disadvantage being a 12 year old skating out here I think obvious advantage is that you're 12 years old soon you're gonna take a slam and you're just going to bounce right back right but everything's too big for you true I mean both her and grace' are so tiny and then also that was a perfect shoe for good kickflip but no experience whatsoever skating in these huge international events sometimes that can help you know it's you it's no nerves kind of other times it could be like whoa this is a whole new world absolutely I think this year is really cool because you know getting in there you're just excited about it next year if you're if you're a staple in the finals it's a whole nother ballgame so you Meeka having a decent first run we saw the fall on the frontside flip 1.8 starting it off hopefully she can put it together on the next one next ten though Leticia Bufoni surprisingly she qualified it in seventh place out of semis but it doesn't matter too much other than the star order Leticia is such a pro I don't see it affecting her one bit well and the cool thing she's one of the first skaters in all of this competition to take advantage of the fact that you know we're moving into a time where people are gonna have coaches and she's got one of the best coaches ever Chris Cole that's why he's not up here right now look at that gap to back lip 20 seconds left Leticia does such a great job of putting a run together tying the course together using all the obstacles yeah because she has good flow and the whole thing she'll skate the quarter pipe she'll do what she needs to to make it happen nice backside pupil grind looks like alright 360 flip fakie is gonna end it for right there but a flawless first run nicely timed out but you see why she's not taking huge risks she's doing what she's good at she does what Chris Cole says she's playing to her strengths yeah setting the table on front number one just getting that good score on the board and then I have a feeling we'll probably see her build on now and she should be looking at a great score and a perfect setup to start the final nice lofty frontside 180 all the way to flat feeble grind resting on that back truck [Music] 3.6 solid score for a run all right before we go into our next skater let me give you a breakdown out of the pile on on the left your screen and how it works below the skaters name are the run section and best-trick tabs the top four scores will be shown in white and the drop scores will be shown in gray below that is the leaderboard the current skaters name is highlighted in white after each attempt their name will be in grey until they skate again the leaderboard will update after every single score and then finally on the bottom tab you'll see what score the skater needs for the lead and if they can't take the lead you'll see the highest placing they can get with a score that's the pylon I know Andrew Alexis salon is one of your personal favorites absolutely it's not just the fact that you're East Coasters what is it about Alexis that makes her so great I'm gonna go you know it's just a trick selection and just the fact that she has she comes from being a street skater there you go nice kickflip up she's got such good flick both on kick flips on heel flips no that's a great point Andrew she grew up Street skating not necessarily it was super close on that front Smith not practicing or trading for contests no we we actually talked in between London and here and she was saying how bizarre it is for her to go to the skate park ahead and do this training she's like I'm so not used to this front board on that bump to rail but what's cool is Alexis we've talked about this at so many contests she's her own worst enemy if she gets in her head she has the potential to just totally unravel but yesterday during the semi finals we saw a really different version of her she was skating smart she was feeling really confident hopefully we can see that happen here today not getting off to a great start here in her first run so far you make it with that 1.8 so a 1.6 for Alexis she'll look to that next run on deck Bartlet the doll from the Philippines she's always joking and laughing she is having a great time Margie breaks such a cool bag of tricks to this whole force he really does very unconventional tight tricks yes come to speed nice kick flip three flipped landed primo 20th time up 20 seconds backside boardslide Margy is a pressure face we have here in SLS which is awesome to see it like we talked about we're opening it up more skaters around the world the progression is amazing oh we're not for that frontside nosegrind at the end that'll be good if she can put that together in the next one so she made some tricks it wasn't the perfect run she was after but it's a good start it's also nice to see sort of you know where she's going on this backside boardslide here's another look at that nosegrind attempt back truck just wheels hitting the hover about staying on getting some points out of it 2.9 so a decent first run score puts her in second place behind Leticia it's good enough for her to break out into a day at dance and there is rice LEL she'll be coming up when we come back this is the women's final SLS World Tour Los Angeles Street League skateboarding is brought to you by Monster Energy [Music] [Music] very very excited and there's a look at this California design did Bill Galen Center SLS Los Angeles Street course and California skate parks is behind the innovation design and construction of all the courses throughout SLS ten-year history this is on the spot presented by monster this 2019 la course is the ideal for tech skaters to excel on ledges and rails and with a perfectly symmetrical design no tricks will be limited due to a skater stance the main starting section is where a lot of the biggest tricks will go down with three blocks and long hub is on either side along with bump to rail options on the way back up top and then there's the centerpiece welcome to the danger zone a gap to hover where things can go wrong real quick and moving on to mid-course bumps and hubbas for days what's up this is Matt Berger we're here at Street League Los Angeles this is my favorite section and it just happens to be the big section we got the gap in - hubba pretty solid drop this is where all the killers the jamie-boy is the knives is the Felipe's they're gonna spend some time here see Manny Santiago already letting you know the bread and butter the highest scores of the weekend coming from the big section here Andrew these courses that California skate parks at the building Forte peers of SLS they are always on point yeah they're great this one's awesome I like this course a lot alright Nishi air our Tanisha Juarez in for her first of two runs 45 seconds she is the defending world champion and what we see from her in the past is a lot of talent very consistent and a strategic skater those who she has to do as she does it with the tie cause she's one of the most observant skaters out there she's watching the competition sees what they're doing analyzing the scores and then playing her cards correctly there's food style Oh front lip and she's gonna run out of time with that on her first run I'm excited to see what she has in the next run so to recap skater good two runs and then five best-trick attempts and then the top four scores overall counts so you could fall on both runs if you could make for great best tricks everything she does she's gonna do solid and just noting that the two skaters you mica and Raisa both of them are really fierce when it comes to the best trick awaiting that score so high scores at three point six right now one point five just below alexis alone on deck a lot of spent she went away for a long time but they came back strong yep really strong and walks she skates with speed and power and she's got all kinds of tricks a lot of grew up skating with jag around Arizona so you know they they kind of have that same contest approach and she is a bird skater as well she is done very well in Bert contests back in the day transition to Street a lot nifty getting away that same thing gives her an advantage when there's quarter pipes of course she's got a lot of great tricks for that that you don't see a lot of the other skaters look at that back one attempt unfortunately that's gonna do it for a lot on run number one but if she can put it together on the next one I think we're gonna see some high scores there's that yeah backside boardslides and that is not a small gap to hover I think that's big takes a lot of speed and a lot of pop even with some fall action 1.7 on that first run so she can clean it up it's gonna be awesome a lot of skaters bunched up though in 3rd 36 right there with a 1 Wayne Brady took the 1.5 now Raisa Liao 11 year old for Brazil what's so incredible about her is she she truly is so small but her ha is incredible and then what she's airborne she's so light yeah like she's just flying there's just a confidence and a style then you know I truly feel like we're sort of in this cool moment right now where we're watching what is going to be the future of maybe at Nyjah in women's skateboarding she has a good 15 to 20 year career ahead nice frontside lipslide pretty daunting if you're kind of a veteran who's you know fighting off this ride down the hubba at the end yeah Peng that's what setting her apart from the other skaters out there he's taking those kind of risks and maybe it's just because she's so young she's like oh yeah but she it's the time to learn and it's the time to figure it out cuz if you're gonna slam a big tricks you might as well do it when you're young and light and you can come back quick yeah versus later all right here's another look at that crooked grind down the long hubba textbook score is in three point four will turn to second place right behind Leticia but next skater is Pamela Rosa defending champ from London absolute contest later yeah that was her first ever SLS win though but it could send her off on row she's been very consistent here this week in the qualifiers even in practice just looking polished and confident frontside 5050 down the hub to start things off into the front board on the out rail Pamela skates a lot with Kel Koffler front smith haha hanging on yeah that's a bank look at that hustle backside boardslide [Music] ten seconds left another backside boardslide on the bumper she's got a hustle to squeeze at this last trick Restless tried making it happen so a perfectly time run put that down right at the end but there were I will say there were two back boards in there I think if she can clean that up on the next one maybe throw a feeble grind in I think it's really gonna help boost it up there's another look from 50 down the hubba there's that gap to backside boardslide so following that one up with the other boardslide and then finishing really strong with that frontside nosegrind perfectly done that is a great run for Pamela Rosa and a great score 4.3 putting her in the lead after the first runs here in the women's final the 2019 SLS World Tour and Leticia Bufoni coming up [Music] [Applause] using this is a victory for night most ominous Gator in SLS history [Applause] [Applause] but she Bhavani first ever [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and we are in Los Angeles California for the 2019 SLS World Tour and it is a beautiful weekend outside the sand surf skating good times on the pier high fives with the Bros we're inside the Galen Center and that is the current leader Pamela Rosa from Brazil after the first runs here in the women's final she was the winner of the London Stock take a look back at what happened there Andrew that was a contest yeah that was amazing to see how much awesome skating went down kandi Jacobs out there rushing it [Music] so many so many skaters from around the world the talent is next level Brazil Japan I or II with that backside lipslide hailing with the big spin frontside boardslide taking its baekje for Australia Pamela Rosa our champion Pamela get the win followed by hailey Wilson and rice in third are we gonna see a repeat of Pamela though already in the lead right now with run number one under her belt excited to see what they bring to the course on the next one so back to the top of the order for second runs here in the final you Mika Oda from Japan she's at fifth place oh the kids love getting away how hard is it to continue Iran when you fall on the first trek the nerves is so insane but what else can you do you just got to get the score that's one thing I do love about this format oh look at that kickflip down the big set it's so nice to be able to have those opportunities if the run doesn't work out to go you know what I'm not fully out of this I can still make for amazing tricks and I could take it home another kickflip gone south and the nollie flip fakie at the buzzer Wow we were talking about this before it was like when did everyone learn nollie flips like what happened there's a kickflip bolts super well done but not a great run for you because she is going to have to rely on her best-trick attempts coming off a 1.8 in her first run this is good for a 2.1 moves are up the leaderboard in second place next didn't though Leticia Bufoni Leticia has had such a strong contest background but her last win in sls was the 2015 super crown it's been a while I love Dixie Holly's the super long pyramid she's the only one tonight doing that nice backside lipslide on the bump to down rail gap to backboard ten seconds left all right backside feeble be able to finish it at times so again Leticia just coming out like a pro put down trick she knows well you don't ever know you're gonna make everything but tricks she is confident and comfortable with saving the big risks for the best trick section another look at that back lip and then you got this gap to backside boardslide it was a great run a lot of variety mixing it up hitting all sections of the course she can expect a great score as well three point eight for Leticia she's the new leader look at that lead right now seven point four overall all right Alexis Sablan coming in trying to look to improve on that first run score as we set a few times though in the past until skaters have poor scores on the board the leaderboard is going to move around a lot start things off with that fifty-fifty kickflip getting away every single time she falls like that - she just takes it right to the shoulder she slams so hard she's fully committed every time no going the Smith grind look like her weight was a little off Alexa's trying to get into rhythm here frontside boardslide and she is out of time not even not even going for the kickflip saying nope I'm gonna just hold off save the legs alexis not getting the run she was after comes down the best-trick points but the tricks that she has she has the potential to win if she can put him down it's hard to go eat the best trick where you don't feel like the momentum is there of course it can be done it's one of those times you've got to dig deep and overcome Marja lifted off in fifth coming off a two point nine run score for her second run oh look at that 500 down the hubba to start things off for Margie that's a great way to set the tone for the run smooth kickflip oh the 360 flip eluding her again some backside boardslide look at that that's like Suns like we're going oh quit turns around to try to squeeze that and that's you end up in a willy drive down a scary hubba yeah that was that was crazy a for effort yes but A's don't count here it's a ten point scale all right kickflip up then go for that three flip unfortunately unable to make it just not working today score two point five so a total of five point four puts margin to second place so decent score is four Margie on rut number two and she moves into the best-trick section Leticia Bufoni our current leader with an overall score 7.4 here at the LA women's final [Music] [Music] Tech Deck lets you go down next-level tricks at the best spots show your style your way with real boy graphics from real skate brands technic start small Kofi [Music] back inside the Galen Center taking a look at this beautiful Street course built by the world-renowned California skate parks which has been behind the innovative design and construction of all the courses throughout SLS ten-year history and er what stands out about the design and build of California skate parks that makes them so great what I like so much about it is they built Street op skills you know I mean you knew all the stuff out there can actually you know the hubbas and the rails the stairs it's like home regulation-size and there's just so much that goes into course design the size of the obstacles the distance apart the height the pitch angles and anything that goes wrong could just ruin a skater's a good time but they kill it I also like that they have the wild stuff too it's like they're relatively realistic as far as rails hubbas stairs stuff like that but then you have a super long rail like that you don't give me many opportunities to skate something like that let's get back to skateboarding it's the finals second runs our it Nisha Bora in coming off of a first run score of 1.50 going down again on that feeble grind hey or he's just having it tough having a tough time out there so far today she's such a great skater so controlled and consistent I think it's all nerves 100% which she bails of people ride that's because she's in this contest environment pure air who is one of the first of the new generation well as far as competition skaters are concerned you have like Lacey Leticia Alexis but then a or he was one of the first ones to come in in the last handful of years and really you know shake things up so but now she's got all these new young skaters that are just nipping at her heels crooked grind at the end but I don't think that was in time that was after time but a good recovery for her after those early Falls going it to the best trick you need to go in with some fakes have another look there you go frontside 5050 down the hubba that's easy for her all day long she could do that one all right 1.9 scores in so it's gonna improve on that first one but she's really gonna need to step it up in his best trick section a lot of spin coming in an eighth place I really really hope Alona can can hang on to this run look at the speed she's coming in when she makes that gap backboard looks so easy and then straight to the 50-50 she doesn't pop out on the quarter pipe and run along the deck keeps it going look at that kickflip to such good flick Alana's really powerful there we go frontside 5050 that tripped her up on the last one fifteen seconds left taking a very casual approach here towards the end of her run Oh blood taking it the entire length of the rail that was great it's just running out of time there good running a lot of big tricks in that run all right so we saw some decent flow on that we we saw some gap to backboard like this right here kickflip you had the hubba kind of skated everything on the course nice feeble grind look at that flick and then the back blunt super well done I think the judges are gonna go go solid on that score yes 4.0 puts Alana Smith up into second place right behind Leticia moving Margie down into the third great score all right there's so much dancing girl I got it's insane Raisa from Brazil her first ever SLS event was the Rhea World Championships where she just burst onto the scene and here she is not that we didn't already know who she was from YouTube and it's RM yeah yeah [Music] you have to backboard starting things off ah the back live getting away plenty of time left [Music] just so comfortable the way when she gets on it just looks super easy solid frontside lipslide and she is out of time but man a good run but you can really see how when the run goes well and that is timed out and you could nail that last trick on the buzzer what a different impact it has at the end of the run just in the by but the building is different yeah here's another look backside 5050 looking so comfortable and confident so her first run score was a three point four three point for the four point one we'll put her in the lead two point seven boots are in the second place nicely done and Pamela Rosa on deck coming up a great first run score just needs to do it again maybe add a little something oh the front board getting away that's unfortunate because that's one of the bowing or basic tricks of a run for sure somebody with a lot of speed oh nice front side Smith grind stepping up the level with 20 seconds left we'll see if she can clean it up there we go gap to backboard nice feeble grind and buzzer all right it's not counting but she felt so that's actually an alright thing she acted a lot of good tricks she was hustling going for it made the gap backboard it's crazy to watching her and right he said do that backside boardslide she's just so aggressive you know she's just like a pitbull out there on the course score two point five six eight total now in second place pushing hi ISA down into third and Leticia in the top spot so to keep up on everything going on in the world of Street League skateboarding follow us on instagram at sls for results highlights everything you need to know all things SLS all things SLS so current leader Leticia Bufoni with a seven point four off overall score as we move into best trick coming ups the women's final based action is huge it's pretty damn big what do you think you got on 20 bucks all right yeah all right let's see where's your board all right I don't need my voice my 20 bucks give my money yeah [Music] welcome back to the 2019 SLS world tour of Los Angeles this is the women's final for ten years deep and SLS and before we go to the best-trick section let's talk about how this contest works with the basics there are two sections of Street League run section and best trick we already saw two 45-second runs from each skater now it's five best-trick attempts and the top four scores count from anywhere on the course so Andrew the highest possible finishing score anyone could ever possibly get an SLS is a 40 it would be it would be four tents no one's ever even gotten one tent so that's not gonna happen but 9s few 9s we see the scores up to 30 60 s and whatnot it's a good system we've never seen it though never seen a 40 maybe someday so we've reshuffle the order based on the standings after the run section so Alexis Salone will be the first skater in because she's currently in eighth place her best trick attempt number one if she can put this down right now it's gonna drastically change what will happen so front 500k that's gonna help with her confidence a lot we talked about it a little earlier for her it's such a mental game she's got the tricks she knows what to do it's a matter of if she can stay focused setting it off with this frontside five-o her skateboard got left behind she said she left it up against her car maybe and just drove off and she had a brand new completely yesterday ah yeah that's the worst that is a great score 4.4 so things can change real quick here the best trick our adityapuram to make something simple or happen look at that front side lipslide on that gap to rail we saw in the qualifying rounds that's the biggest points getting section the gap the height everything about it look at that all the way over the top super tall on that rail six that is HUGE right there a massive score now it taken knows if you're here one of the competitors out here you can do that trick oh say that Pamela Rosa is going to be all over that all right you big oh yeah now the folks at really well-done I'm excited to see what other tricks you make it brings that kickflip was super good caught with the back foot bolts no bro well done 4.2 so the scores are going up already here in fest drink bar to let the dog currently eight but a 4.3 or better all right backside five-o so Alexis got the 4.4 with the front five oh I think you I think you're gonna be roughly the same score right it's you know similar some people it works better back side out of there's front side I would say overall back side is gonna be a little bit harder though just because it is blind side but it's very very very close four point seven right you are judges awarding in three tenths of a point higher than the front side striking a pose and hamming it up a lot of spit coming in after a huge run score no problem taking names saw the 6.2 and said oh I got that now we've seen GaN scoring is consistent we probably see a 6.2 for that and like right now she needs a 4.5 to get into first place 6.3 all right tenth of a point higher than our is gapped ellipse line she had some power on it because that style aspect is going to come into play Raisa has best tricks for days all right got backboard she can make that just about every try smart strategy works here because you need four scores no matter how great you do in the run section you still got to make two of these tricks no matter what 4.8 4.8 right there now erase' up in second place Marty down in third Pamela Rosa is in she's in eighth place but I'm curious to see where she goes to this one she just built in the house laying the foundation she's like all right 4.8 that seems like a smart move then she'll probably step it up with the lipslide and her first run score was a 4.3 you're right Andrew just put those numbers on the board and then going for it at the end once the four scores are off kind of let loose a little bit 4.9 Pamela roses back board I'm thinking the judges are liking that power Alana Smith Pamela Rosa both of them really like pushing it Leticia setteth 4 now with two scores on the board coming off two great runs same move it's interesting how quickly a low run score could be made up for we're just going for a big trick out here it works though but Leticia had two solid runs and now she's got her first best trick score we'll see what that is 4.9 same as Pamela roses so you see a chess match of skateboarding happening out here in the women's final all right Alexis back in timber to front side Smith grind stepping it way up yep from 502 Smith I'm curious to see how this one Falls especially because we're seeing you know 4.8 4.9 on those gap 2 board slides and this is a way more difficult trick the only difference being it's not as high-speed yeah not it's like you know high flying but but then the drop on that one's really high yeah I agree five-point lead technically it's at least as difficult as a gap outboard I would say it's harder than a gap to boardslide but not as hard as a gap to lipslide all right so our ignition Maura she's trying to get rid of a couple of runs scores she's got work to do but she has the highest score of the day so far here the women's final oh she needs a three point one to get in the first gap to crook first ride that is gonna do it and you see how psyche she is so now she's on a roll she has three best-trick attempts left and she's got great scores there you go that look it didn't even look that hard for her look at that grinding the entire rail that is the feeling like yes all right now we're moving forward 6.8 yes Lori now up in the top spot with a drastic lead 16.4 so she has the two highest scores of the night eub coda is it oh you make it going for the crooked grind down the hubba that was the first bail in the best-trick section here the women's final that's pretty impressive can't bake 10 bakes in a row that's amazing and it's cool because everyone is pushing it high bar G of course Rotech nose grind down the hubba how do you think of front nose grind compares to a front smith just you personally it's tough I think that I honestly think a front Smith is more difficult but I think a front nose grinds gonna get more a better score let's see there's just more room for error on a front side Smith uh-huh if you get it get it rail side down you know 5.8 5.8 relatively similar but she got no get around few tenths more points for the nose grind than the spit all right Lucas said was that backboard look like backboard I might have to check the replay so she started with the 6.3 and best-trick yep look back bored to me yes shoutout to John Holland down there on the course filming those wide-angle shots you're seeing one of the greatest skate cinematographers of all time a lot of Smith with the four point nine backboard and rice deck where's she gonna go coming out the B section all right creepy ground we saw at the end of a run every one of these women out here this final is scathing very smart yes so I think what's gonna what's gonna happen there's gonna be a log jam at the end there it's gonna be like all these scores bunched up and they're gonna all have to go for broken absolutely for the pack absolutely cuz they're all kind of in a similar range of landing landing dirt dirt good tricks not their best tricks yet five point point for now in third place yeah it's not that they're playing it safe it's that they're all playing it there B mart-mart about it yeah I know very strategic nothing safe about it but what's cool is that everyone's doing it so that's gonna be we're basically gonna have these attempts where it's like all right everyone's got four scores now it's go big or go home Pamela Rosa so Margie got a 5.8 for her front nosegrind let's have another look at that did she hit her back trucks just a little bit she hit her wheel yeah so the judges will likely dock a bit of points for that because of a well-executed nosegrind you're not you're not tapping that back truck needs a 5.3 to move into the lead she gets a 4.1 so yeah and that's a giraffe desk ah yeah but but a 4.1 is still a good score Pamela Rosa's moved up into fifth place Leticia Bufoni currently at seventh looking for her fourth score with this second of five best-trick attempts oh the front list she knows where that one stacks up as far as points are concerned but that's gonna put some pressure on her cuz now other skaters are dropping scores and she has to post that fourth score there's your current leader Alana Smith she's been putting it down out here six point three four point nine in the best-trick section so far and the highest score of the day our Nishimura from Japan this is the women's final SLS World Tour Los Angeles will be born back with more best tricks right after this [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] and we are in beautiful Southern California it's Los Angeles the birthplace of skateboarding I mean this is where it all happens out the streets people shredding everywhere you turn the corner and there's a famous spot and a famous Pro it's Mosca it's pretty sick here and we are inside the Galen Center at USC crime is packed in here and they have had one of the best days of skateboarding play out before their eyes all day long today this is the women's final the SLS World Tour Los Angeles top 10 years of SLS by the way happy birthday congratulations SLS is the best trick section third of five alexis alone tried to turn up the heat with the kickflip unfortunately the kickflip getting away Howry index she's in second place the two point one boots her into the lead all right so manouri flag to her strengths we saw the lipslide we saw the crooked grind now she's going boardslide because she knows that to round of four so that will everybody better at tea her spot in the lead for now she's become famous for seeing tricks that get the scores and then go into doing them when she needs them 4.8 no problem for our e first place with an overall score of 19.7 you Mika ona coming in to the 8th looking for her fourth score so close on the crooked grind down the rail that's only the fourth fall weed seed in the best-trick this would've been one of the most consistent best-trick section ever seen and that's the last Margiela's Badal though in these next few attempts we're gonna see more of it because this is now where everyone needs to push whoa back side nose grind down the hubba a 6.4 would give margie the lead oh look at that back side nose grind so I've called that hubba and rail a couple times it's like sort of in that weird middle ground yeah it's hubba ish sort of around six point to her Highness guru judges award in the back side nose grind rightfully so that one's toe bargee boobs up in the second place a lot of Smith is it third a 4.6 coming in with a lot of speed will give her the lead to backside lipslide look at that the reaction from the other skaters that came out up their way that was awesome she just raised the bar by points a gap a gap backboard is getting good scores here a gap back left and she's getting congratulated by our coach Neil Mims who I want to shout out legend looking at the couch first try here we go oh man so perfectly done - there was so much control look at racist reaction there it Pamela Rosa and don't worry yes that was amazing that was great seven point three yes a lot of Smith in the top spot look at that commanding lead as well 22.5 a Horry in second with a 19 point seven would it be wrong to start a seven for Alana right now all right price uh on deck she's at fourth she needs a nine to take the lead down the hubba that thing probably drops off as tall as she is and not to mention the distance she has to grind that is a long hubba oh this is a great final right now here's another look at that all right so back Smith super difficult getting most of the weight on the back foot that was perfectly balanced oh man that was so well done perfectly dipped ahaha this is amazing right now we just saw a gap to back lip back Smith down the hubba [Music] seven even yeah rice of moves in the second place now she's in striking distance of first as we keep things rolling Pamela Raisa up next she's trying to drop a score of a two point five to put herself back in contention yeah lipslide so that's gonna be in that you know six point eight ish range she needs a nine point three to get into first while she won't get that for the lipslide she's she's playing it smart setting herself up for her last two best-trick attempts which will allow her and easier go at trying to take over the lead but it's tough that they're holding really high scores right now right she is too though so it's wide open Leticia Bufoni up next she's in seventh place but she only has three scores on the board and eight forgives Leticia the lead we saw her go for that gap to live on the last one unable to make it can she get it yes you can Jason needed that right there so Pam Rosa just got the six point two for the gap Lib Leticia get in her fourth score and then she too will be in a position to reclaim the lead on her next two best-trick attempts six point three Leticia moves into sixth place and there's her skate coach Chris Cole right behind the pylon and fellow Brazilian Felipe Gustavo cheer on it's Alexis - blown back on course there we go that kickflip so badly we've seen the kickflip we saw it from UV coater but alexis has such a flick such a cool technique on her kickflip so much pop so much but here's another look look at how far on it her her foot is she rides it all the way down caught it right at the peak no problem oh man it almost looks like it barely left her feet right super well done look at that 4.9 score looking good so Alexis now with a 16 point 3 hey Horry two attempts left she's trying to get rid of a 1.9 a 4.8 moves her believe saying that she was able to hang on to that right there what happened basically it was like she just didn't fully lock into the crook who was almost a back side nose grind because she just didn't get the nose on the on the hubba look at that oh man that was wild like a mix between a straight nose grind and a crooked grind but hanging on 9 there was 90% of a crooked grind waiting on that score judges deliberating 4.3 a good score for it I think the great score yeah our isn't second you pika because in in eighth place I'll go up for the crew that was a slam right there you beacon has one attempt left three Falls in a row she's gonna need that last trick barb Margie all right front side five oh she just looks like so light-footed when she's on that rail so a 5.9 puts her in the lead Alexis did that front 504 4.4 Margie looking for a 5.9 dancing her way through the finals 4.5 moves are up in the third place a lot of Smith in next I'm so excited to see what she's gonna bring she's the leader she can do it all she's just trying to crease her score no way if she kickflip 5050 s that I'm going Huba on this one if she can't put back fifties that Huba that's gonna be massive she has huge scores all the way through but it would do her some good to get rid of that for from her second run he's a 5.4 to get into first she can't do that Oh front lip playing it really smart 5-4 to get up into first we've seen that in the six area she's trying to drop a 3.4 so if she doesn't move into the lead he'll at least be increasing her points and giving herself a really good shot at the win Trent higher over that rail she wanted that pop it's amazing yes so stoked [Music] 6 6 1 1 yes now up in the top spot 23.3 this is an insane final right yeah eleven-year-old dancing leader from Brazil Raisa Leal overall score 23 point three on deck Pamela Rosa in 5th place she needs an eight point zero to take the lead she's trying to drop a four point one anything better than that we'll help her get just said oh man I think that's gonna end up in that seven range which will get her closer but she's still gonna need to keep pushing for that last attempt it really it's gonna all come down to the final tries oh man here's another look all right gap to smith getting in so nicely on that back truck look at that right there so well done for Pamela Rosa six points seven that's good enough for fourth place that's gonna make it really difficult for her though she wants to win well she needs a five point six on her next try Leticia Bufoni Zin six and 8.4 gives her the lead of three point six helps her chances Oh front tail to fakie yes she needed that right there that was huge every single one of these women are pushing the envelope all building up for these final tries alright here's another look frontside tailslide taking it taking it to fakie man this is awesome right now I love that a six even that she's now in sixth place she's still in sixth place but she's within striking distance now there's the current leader after four of five best-trick attempts here the women's final it's rice liao the eleven-year-old for brazil kid she get her first ever XLS wind at 11 years old we'll find out [Music] [Music] true skate is the official mobile game of Street League skateboarding true skate is free to download this weekend an SLS course packs are on sale [Music] welcome back everybody inside the Galen Center in 2019 SLS World Tour Los Angeles women's final and one a final it has been here tonight Andrew cannon it's come down to this the fifth and final best-trick attempts here in the women's final the lead has been going back and forth all night last final I've I've ever seen here's our defensive end current standings Raisa Leon the 11 year old from Brazil up on top followed by the American a lot of Smith and our ignition we're up from Japan the International depth of this field we've been talking about it all night long and it's playing out here right now the talent level is off the charts Alexis alone coming in for her fifth and final best trick attempt at eight point seven looking at driver lead looking to drop that one point six so really if she could put anything down right now it's gonna help her move up the leaderboard let's see what she's got Alexis along go for the kickflip from fifty super risky she was going for it she put it all in the line and that's exactly what she needed to do it didn't pan out but huge props to Alexis a blown for killing it out here all right Courtney shamora last attempt he to five point six she can do it right here a five point six moves her into the lead I'm curious where they're gonna go with that I'm wondering if that's going to be enough so backside 5050 backside 180 out your blindside you know what I like she's taking a chance she's handed up to the judges he's doing her own thing not doing something else that already happened that counts for a lot will see a three point three judges not down so our he's gonna stay in third place for now Yumiko oda she's in aim at eight point three moves her in the seventh [Music] trying so hard for that crooked grind unfortunately unable to make it 12 years old though Paul Yumiko Oda this is just the beginning for her yeah she's that quite quite a week here the SLS World Tour la stop now Marja Linda dollish is in fifth place a six point seven gives her the lead those are big scores she's got a lot of tricks though start in a different zone on the course let's starting it with a dance that's gonna be I think I think we're gonna see her head towards the ledge she's got some wild ledge boobs 5360 flip out that was rad I did not expect that at all I thought she was gonna go late flip on it I'm super stoked she went back 53 flips and she had to levitate stay in the air extra long for that 360 flip to finish flipping before she could land on it because it was going slow she pulled it off look getting in backside 50 look at that setup oh man stomped that was amazed that was almost primo for just a moment six point seven what's the score get it judges taking their time on this one the Philippines are on their feet five even Margie Margie says it's okay and so there's that fast all right Ilana in second he's a four point nine to get up into that top spot all right back blood smart move smart move but did she take enough of a risk with the back blunt I'm gonna we had a do you know we haven't seen many back slots in competition though I know they might they might give it to her we'll see true alright there's another look getting on the tail all the weight on the back foot either way phenomenal skating from Alana Smith here today sending a message to all the other competitors saying hey I'm here and I'm ready three point six right there so Alana Smith in second place right now so and it is a battle of Brazil look at this we have three skaters left all three Brazilian right now race create the spot she's just trying to build on that lead making the backside 5 o beautiful lowest score right now four point eight the crowd is going crazy parisa oh man this is awesome look at that so comfortable balanced perfectly locked in on the wheel is it going to be enough though to outdo that 4.8 a 4.7 no she's gonna keep the same score and it's going to come down to Pamela Rosa and Leticia Bufoni so no matter what if there's any changes it's a Brazilian taken home victory winner of Lima the rows of five point six front side nose grow nose grind whoa I don't know she's out here putting it down killing it and now it's in the hands of the judges she's trying to get back-to-back wins coming off of London her first ever SLS win back in May and here we are in LA and she's right on the brink I know I'm like he's it gonna be enough frontside nosegrind we've seen a couple of them 5.6 is the score [Music] when the judges take their time on this yeah pins and needles well they're probably taking a look referencing the nosegrind that they saw a little earlier [Music] it was done really well there's your current leader Raisa lay out waiting on that score anxiously oh man five even so it's not going to do it Pamela Rosa now in second place and the only person that can be Tressa is Leticia Bufoni Leticia needs a six point two to win it she's in sixth place [Music] we have Brazilians in the first and second spots and Leticia is in and she's not gonna do it and that makes Raisa Leal the winner of the 2019 SLS Los Angeles World Tour women's final [Applause] Wow Brazil he does it again this time in the form of an eleven-year-old skating in her third ever sls event [Applause] this is as big as it gets in skateboarding and to do this and 11 think credible so Raisa Li out just coming in and putting it down trick after trick all night long here in the women's final we'll be back [Music] [Applause] [Applause] a super body first ever [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] Street League skateboarding has been brought to you by tech deck and by the Galen Center [Music] and there is your winner Raisa Liao the 11 year old from Brazil getting her first massive win here in Los Angeles at the SLS World Tour women's final as she stacks points on her way to the Olympics let's talk about the results Raisa Leal and Pamela Rosa top two spots for Brazil followed by the American Alana Smith rounding out the podium and then our English amaura Marja Linda dal from the Philippines Leticia Bufoni Alexis a blown round out the top eight jamika Oda highest scoring trick of the day goes out to Alana Smith courtesy of monster energy gap backside lipslide for a 7.3 beautifully done at that taking a huge risk and it pays off with a spot on the podium for a lot of Smith so there's your tiny champion being lifted up by Leticia Bufoni from Brazil congratulations to all the women who made it here to the finals tonight and especially Raisa Liao from Brazil for getting the win so for Andrew cannon and everyone at SLS I'm Paul zitzer thanks for tuning in come back for the men's final tonight [Music]
