[Applause] [Music] Kansas City the modern gem of the Midwest with its architectural works two hundred-plus fountains and vibrant downtown gets invaded by the best skateboarders on the planet welcome everybody to stop three of Street League skateboarding Nike SB World Tour alive from Sprint Center in Kansas City Missouri what's happening everybody I am Brandon Graham join alongside my partner Felix Arguelles and Felix we are stoked to be kicking off the domestic series here in KC but we do have to talk about the two top names thus far this season Nyjah Huston and Paul Rodriguez I mean Paul and Nyjah have just been bringing the heat this is probably the least impact section that we've ever had and there's still more exciting than ever before talk about exciting the rivalry continues it got kicked off just a couple of weeks ago in Barcelona Spain check out this finish so it all boils down to this Tony P rod if he lands a trick of seven-point eight or higher he will take the overall lead from Nyjah Huston you want to talk about pressure it all comes down to this [Applause] [Music] so here's a look at our overall season standings after two events nyjah huston cruisin in the lead with two consecutive victories Kansas City native though Sean Malto not far behind them I like seeing torii up there too it's a shame we lost him today by less than a point that's true but some unfamiliar territory for some very familiar names Chris Cole and Ryan Sheckler out of the top eat right now it's a shame that Ryan's hair it's been a tough season for me well we're gonna get to this course in just a moment but let's check out today's finalist shall we Nyjah Huston was our top ranked qualifier puttin it down all day long in the prelims Casey native Sean Malto in second Chris Cole Paul Rodriguez Dylan reader Felix skating in his very first Street League final luan Oliveira Mikey Taylor and Tom asta well let's take a look now at the course in the streetscape presented by Nike SB [Applause] so we begin in the flow section where each skater gets two 45-second runs we have a nice addition with that hubba with the kink at the end and the a-frame with a little bit of an angle kind of creates like a bump to bar so the best score counts out of the two 45-second runs but be careful one skater will get eliminated then we move on to the control section where each skater gets five attempts and the best score counts the control section is so exciting you could pick any feature in the whole course just a great Center obstacle and then there's that really interesting impact section we're going to that's right one skater will get eliminated post control as well and it all comes down to the impact section six attempts and the best for scouts so your total score one flow one control and for impact [Applause] so let's get things started in the flow section there you see the start list Tom asta skating in his second Street League final will be kicking things off here in Kansas City Tom asta quiet kid big moves again each skater getting two 45-second runs at week two now the best score everything's turned up ready switch frontside feeble grind little transitional skill there with the backside tailslide alsa was a Street League rookie last year in 2012 already making some noise early in the 2013 season you could never tell by how comfortable he is in the finals nollie crooked grind over the double said that's 15 feet of ledge right there over those two sets of three stairs it'll be interesting to see how these finalists hit that impact section here in the flow there's definitely going to be a lot more technical skating you've seen today so that'll do it for Tom's first flow section attempts the score coming in a seven-point own way to start the final rock getting the first points on the board up next though SLS veteran Mikey Taylor [Applause] switch blunt side to forwards these guys are trying to shoot for a 6.4 better to get out of this section who taps his nose on the wait up so he actually doesn't get on the rail stumbled out of it and I trying to put it all back together again you got 15 seconds to play with you [Music] the way to make up for with that tailslide fakie switch front blunt [Applause] [Music] I ate a frontside boardslide didn't make up for Mikey very clean for Mikey Taylor we just seems to get more and more comfortable with the format at each event here now though from Brazil luan Oliveira he's skated well he's in his third consecutive final of the season always exciting to watch make 360 flip a lot of action into skateboarding fast disaster on the quarter pipe big spin kickflip up to Euro gap my key score coming in by the way at a 5.9 36 and second switch to 70 boardslide he saves that one right there run slide to fakie present it on five front somebody to switch crook [Applause] the one really turned it up in the finals nollie crooked grind what an opening run for luan Oliveira [Music] this score come in in 8.3 jumping him up in a first place up next though making a Street League finals debut Dylan reader so here's Dylan reader as we said before his first time in an SLS final if Dylan stays on his board he can really do this he's got a 8.3 in the flow section before real solid right now check out the Nike SB keys to success and then we got a time up your tricks as you've only got 45 seconds don't play it too safe and skate this course creatively backside lipslide through that Kings hubba as if there was a smooth cut a huge nollie flip this guy's really doing it today this stage doesn't look too big for him right now fields boom so much pop we were talking about that pop are going to be deciding factor over here so you could drip that extra distance and Dylan has a lot of power so that's gonna do it this one for the fans that Bale was at the time that's right so expected big score for Dylan reader in 8.0 on the dot jumping him up in the second place here now a guy no stranger to success in Street League Paul Rodriguez looking real focused right now one of only four skaters actually win a Street League event he's got the chops starts off with a switch stance kickflip now you can hear me say switch a punch that's actually like switch hitting in baseball you know they're going backwards these guys are quite quite ambidextrous and they do equal skateboarding thrown in both directions [Applause] all with an uncharacteristic miss all had some real big scores here in the flow section up into 9.3 [Applause] so as you said previously hustling trying to make up for it a 6.4 has been the average score to getting to the control section from the flow so keep your eyes on that number 6.4 be in the magic number here's Chris Paul so after not making the final in Brazil got bounced out early and spam he's trying to get back back to 72 lipslide back to the top from set 360 over the hip you're looking strong out there [Applause] where he goes to hit bajada Longfield bluntslide doesn't know 15 seconds first coal has got a focus like never before [Applause] saves that one right there landed a little under rotated but managed to save himself we'll see if he could get one more in before the buzzer that was in the buzzer was cool if the buzzer is honking there's still countered though honk a Stockton goat in judges on that one and these judges are stiff well a great score nonetheless an 8.0 for Chris Cole Wow jumping them up into a tie for second place with Dylan reader and check out the hometown hero Sean Malto rocking the Kansas Chiefs Jersey listen to this crowd oh truck a broken truck has this ever even had never seen this before Felix I've never seen this in a skateboarding contest does he just ride his truck so loose at the nut came off what just happened Wow interesting turn of events here Joseph drop is the hometown hero as his Hardware falling apart so he'll try and figure out whether he could put that back on by the way let's look at this one more time he does not get another first run so this isn't what happened he stayed locked in the grind as if the truck was still on there I think his front truck may have actually loosened so far off during just natural skating that the bump fell off yeah looked like the ball came off before broken board yeah so he's getting a 0.4 as the score the fans - yeah so Malto will opt to hope his second run a little bit more successful than that one enough board keeps on but we keep going Nyjah Huston and I introduced today having a captain backside literally set this one off Nigel he knows win that's all he knows you know Felix we thought this of course is so different than what we've seen at Street League what would Nyjah have in his bag and if prelims of practice have been any indication what we're seeing this far he looks just fine so solid so conniving no expression on the states whatsoever [Applause] you always wonder what he's gonna do when he has to turn it up look at that right there keep the frontside boardslide as much of it expressions you to get like it a little bit of a grimace to show something you know happiness again to Houston and a point for the top score the day thus far jumping him up into first place look at what an amazing start our top four guys all in the eight zone the heavy hitters have come to skate today luckily it seems like Sean Malto had a second complete together but he is losing that first run so he's only gonna have one run to be judged so a crazy start to this contest Sean wall toes board breaking before he's even able to take off on his first run as it enough pressure when we come back attempts number two in the flow section stick around [Music] the Street League skateboarding Nike SB World Tour is presented by Nike Skateboarding and brought to you in part by GoPro the world's most versatile camera and by the Street League online store get exclusive Street League merchandise at shop Street League calm [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] welcome back to Street League skateboarding Nike SB World Tour at the Sprint Center Kansas City Missouri stop number three it's the finals so for a greater look at this course let's go to Sean Malto at the GoPro course preview what's up this is Sean Malto me and Ishod Wair doing a course preview or the street we may see stuff start on the wing a little back as we get through it [Music] kind of scoops around and go straight into like a frame bump grip one of us 15 feet long so we got to make sure you're really locked on your trick right I ran over the planners good bump one of the better of course I'm psyched [Music] so look at the current standings through one attempt in the flow section shows magic Houston the lead with luan Oliveira not far behind a bunch of eights there though Felix man it's been such an exciting first set of runs right here but who would have ever expected multiple home to fall off yeah that's incredible you see him working on his board right now let's get right back to it attempt number two here in the flow section again each skater getting two 45-second attempts and we count their best score so here's Tom asta currently sitting in fifth place he had a 7.0 on his first attempt we could say the rookie of the bunch starting off solid with a switch frontside feeble frontside half cab flip and it over the prototype with that backside tailslide I've seen the young guys have some Street skaters answering transition skills again this is only asked his second ever of Street League final there you see the sport trick strip to give you a little direction on who and when his skated masochism on the 15 seconds of attempt number 2 we always be in the flow section he is really flowing right through his rope put backside tailslide so Tech in the middle of run and in the end of it amazing performance so that'll deal for asta let's see if it bumps him up as he sits in fifth place 7.8 so yeah a nice come up for him he'll stay in fifth overall and you now Mikey Taylor sitting in sixth and remember one guy will get eliminated right now unfortunately it's Sean Malto who is sitting in eighth place that here's Mikey who had a five point nine three you see Mikey Taylor went up Figgy the backside lipslide which bug slide two straight really mixing it up this roads pretty impressive his first one was in his head we said it from the top Felix this is a low-impact squeeze in that nollie front part of that little sticky form a little sticky on the rim the middle of his board they might have shuffled his feet so when a man that he stumbled off so he's unable to put down that final trick a 5.2 he'll hold on to that 5.9 on his previous attempt up next though luan Oliveira pattern 8.3 with an 8.5 he could take the overall lead away from Nigel I know he's definitely sitting comfortable a second place huge switch tre flips to start this off it's nice when you have that safety run already down you can really let it all out in your next run [Applause] it just looking like one of those typical LaJuan amazingly exciting runs which frontside flip all of the Juancho gone so clean the one looking for that first ever Street League win himself which disaster [Applause] town did you see that hop out of that he has so much control on his skateboard and a three-foot crooked grind from the flat but he nails that one amazing suasion a flawless second flow except for the one Oliveira his score coming in at an eight point four and the ones on top we got a new leader in town it's the lon Oliveira it's tied with Nigel right now is not just still got one more attempt to go could he get his first win feels like it doesn't it there's good energy well the wand skates the flow section as well as anybody in this league that's for certain Dylan reader in his first final not gonna lie what I'm saying I'm extremely excited seeing them in their skates the course as creatively as anybody sitting in third place right now so much power [Applause] Smith line up the rail I get nothing speedy tailslide such a stylish among people right and cover so much grounded this course skill it's so fast [Applause] backside lipslide through the kink of that hub of effortlessly huge nollie flip so Felix he's closing in on 10 seconds to go and boom up the big four that has eight seconds to end this row with a bang let's see what he's got the frontside flip seems to get away from you he's alright safe third spot so Dylan couldn't catch it there but up until that point it was a great run a seven point nine almost matching in his first Chloe temps four he will hold on to that 8.0 and stay in third place up next all Rodriguez he's sitting in seventh position had an uncharacteristic four point nine on that first run it's like something much higher here I'll need a solid run because he wants to be saved well Malto only gets one run technical difficulty with this truck he could both fall out that's right one skater will get eliminated from this section Paul completely symmetrical backside terrified on the way up switch backside tailslide on the way down so much more difficult going through that cable this is the running warning for this trade flip final 10 seconds for periodic the trade flip is a 360 kickflip where the boards rotate 360 degrees and actually flipping 360 degrees is wrong Oh should slip backside lipslide situation Paul but that's definitely gonna be out much better spoiling his first run so P rod who was sitting in 7th jumps up to sixth place with that 7.3 bumping Mikey Taylor down to seventh place overall now Taylor has to look over his shoulder at his close friend Sean Malto so his Chris Cole sitting fourth place had a great first run score of 8.0 an eight point five would actually jump him up backside 270 lipslide that's like cold send up the same run again it's gonna be exciting to see what a surprise he asked for us on the way through it kickflip over the railways time gets a little bit too much on the wrong side of the rail which made it too far over for him to transfer on to the top makes up some ground with that long blunt slide the frontside bluntslide Chris got eliminated in this section a couple weeks ago in Spain switch frontside 270 kickflip over the hip did not expect that at all so Chris pull isn't things out properly for his second flow attempts not exciting in there might be a little bit of a nudge greater than his last move nope so a 7.9 has him in third place now Sean Malto one run goes against everybody's two runs here no pressure Sean there's this pole one more time but you can hear at this Kansas City hometown crowd well deserves a clean run wants one of their own to make it right so here's Sean Malto he's currently in that elimination position if he wants to knock out Mikey Taylor he's gonna need a 6.0 to do it this is about as much pressure as skateboarders ever had on his shoulders and it shows realizing tinnitus of the essence gotta get a lot of tricks here with 30 seconds good way to make up after that bail fail slide nollie the front board come on Shawn put it together just too much for the kid to bear although we've been to Kansas City twice Malta's yet to win in his hometown we'd love to put on a show for this crowd but I think you're right Felix man tough tough break I think that wave to the crowd signifies so much pressure for young Marco it's a tough pill to swallow skate in front of your hometown but a three point two after disastrous first Star Wars trucks came off his board and Sean Malto has officially been eliminated what a champion though you can't knock that smile off his face respect Sean so we've still got one more attempt in it's Nyjah Huston what an eight-point for in his previous today I just sit sit up he's just on fire this guy [Music] opening backside lipslide he has to gap about nine to ten feet just to get onto that rip kick flip flop to fakie talk about turning it up 15 seconds with Nyjah here [Applause] just keeps knocking him down backside tailslide what's our ender and he's got it timed perfectly again whew it's incredible kicked it front board much better run he did it like one pumping them out of that top spot you call that an ender and I just score coming in 990 houston regaining the overall lead the almost had a nightclub flow section I'll take let's take a look now at the flow results now that the section is in the books Nyjah Huston reclaims the lead there on that final attempt with luan Oliveira right there behind him so now let's check out the Nike SB moment of impact coming up momentarily and Felix it's a it's a bit of a bizarre one but check this out sean is known for so many grinding tricks and it seems like he may have brand you see the bolt fall off just before he gets all his bushings go the washers go the trucks go and he stayed on that ledge to safety but he just could not make it and that may have costed him the event we'll find out the third member of our team Jordan Whitley is down with Malta now Jordan take it away take the truck take us through what happened and did it affect your ability to bounce back in the second run well you know like my board broke apart and it's the first time that's ever happened to me in a contest situation so I was a little frazzled and you know that I can't blame that on anything I had a second run just didn't work out but whatever I'm still happy I'm loving this well the crowd really got behind you going into that second run what's it like to have Kansas City here rooting for you I'm psyched you know I'm hyped for all these everybody that came out man I'm hyped for skateboarding the skate shop and I always have left for KC all right thanks so much done guts and expected so disappointing from Walter he said it's never happened over a contest I've never seen it happen period yeah that was pretty a pretty intense environment right there well hey the NBA Finals continued tonight on ABC as LeBron James and the heat look for the split before the series heads to San Antonio Game two of the NBA Finals tonight at 8:00 on ABC coverage begins at 7:30 with the Kia NBA countdown you know what Brandon go Heat I knew yeah to get that there is your current leader Nyjah Huston when we come back the control section stick around [Music] coverage of Major League Baseball continues on ESPN tonight at 8:00 it's a battle in the NL Central as Carlos Beltran leads the Cardinals against Joey Votto Votto and the Reds then Monday at 7 AL East rivals square off as David Ortiz and the Red Sox head into the Trop to take on Evan Longoria and the Rays both games are on ESPN and also live on watch ESPN so you are watching live coverage of the Street League skateboarding Nike SB World Tour and you see the course being laid down here in Sprint Center Kansas City Missouri and Felix a lot of manpower a lot of hours put into building this masterpiece I mean I was gonna say this event is exciting but that's just synonymous with Street League so much energy in KC it's a shame to leave Malto but hasn't even flinched the arena really film also unfortunately getting eliminated into the flow section we move on to the control where Mikey Taylor will be kicking things off these guys did not get to skate this section in the prelims so it'll be interesting to see what we can see in store so check out the come up presented by Nike SB as we take a look at Dylan reader skating in his very first Street League final Dylan just manhandling that hubba doing a backside lipslide him flowing through the kink at the end of it like if it wasn't even there and that powerful gapped ellipsoid he had to ollie over 10 feet just to get onto it and followed it up with a gap to front board and the gap to Smith rang so they disappoint a lot of power and pop right there that was Dylan in the prelims making his way into his very first ever final but now we begin in the control section each skater getting five attempts the single best score counts and again one skater will get eliminated so here is Mikey Taylor on attempt number one in the control one of the best things about the control section is you get to see these guys strongest attempts because they get to pick any obstacle at all if they'd like to skate so his AST average trick score of six point six for Mikey Taylor attempt number one amazing there's kind of a funk people up and down but he started to transfer into a backside Smith grind and they just dried up right at the end it's a long drive I mean Mikey's been known to work a pole in the past video parts and really like max up some grinds and slides I think he's got that so here's B rod he's got a highest score trick of the season an eight point nine this is H St so far in 2013 switch flip backside tailslide I'm calling a nine does P rod get into the nine club on his first no stranger 9.30 for Felix bad boy Paul Rodriguez with the first nine here in the final today and Paul Rodriguez is a diamond and grizzly Rider our new course sponsors here here's another look into the 9 Club replay Paul Rodriguez he actually skates regular foot through this switch flip back tail but he's a goofy foot skater so it is P rots first 9 of the 2013 season it's skateboarding goofy and regular means you skate with your right foot forward your left foot forward and Paul is one of the most ambidextrous skateboarders out there snow the exclusive 9 Club trick jump spear odd up into the lead now here's Tom asta he's got to try and follow that up on his first attempt fake theologists which front feeble grind that's always been a difficult trick to call right there it's a combination of moves extremely difficult so an 8.0 very solid for Tom asta jumping him up into second place again you do not want to be in that seventh position when my tailor is on that bubble spot with the Nate he's sitting pretty safe so here's Dylan reader [Applause] Wow that front side ports I was so powerful he almost went through the Street League barriers at the end all the way up and down that rail so much speed you make sure you do not stick so a 7.5 for Dylan reader jumping him up in the third place he'll Felix and three limbs they don't scape this this particular section so we've never really gotten a C villain in the control section yeah they can really let it out right here and just go for a one trick there's piss call cab front board to fakie a caballerial is named after Steve Caballero it's a fakie to fakie 360 and through a frontside boardslide they're in the middle so a 7.5 for Chris Cole up next luan Oliveira who skated oh so well in the flow section Milan is such a technical skateboarder this is a great session for him right here the control section he'll flip 270 out after the no side tongue twister and Felix for some of the fans at home it's not uncommon to see these guys if they miss on their first attempt to keep going until they got this because they know they've got five attempts and only one counts yeah these tricks are a little bit more difficult and maybe wouldn't be made in their snow section so I have a couple of tries here to really demonstrate the progression of skateboarding progressions really what street leads all about so Nyjah Huston unable to land there Mikey Taylor as we said before in that bubble position it is early but he would love to get a solid score here this is a really intense frontside feeble grind backside Smith grind depending on which way he gets on that number two no reason to be totally upset Mike he'll get a decent score for that which I got the Nike SB keys to success here in the control section so a five point six for Mikey Taylor jumping him up in the fifth place overall a little bit harder than that he needs a little bit more insurance because I just cooking a nollie heel to front side nose slide and Paul's just out here for the people right now what's he got for an encore after a 9.0 kook a grime oh my goodness nollie flip crooked grind if you I don't know eleven and a half I don't know if you can squat more than 210 we'll find out so Paul with the mist they're up next Tom asta with his second attempt had a very solid 8.0 in his first run in the control section we'll see what he's got for number two it's scary to think that Paul has four more tries at that and I watched them doing that Sean Malto spark the other day three times he's Tom asta [Music] switch frontside heels with details live Thomas is an extremely technical skateboarder we could see some exciting stuff here here it's easy to forget cuz this is only his second Finals appearance just how technical his bag of tricks is oh yeah I follow him online seen his video parts this guy's really something so here's Dylan reader heat up no clue that this was his first ever Street League final sitting in 4th place at a 7.5 in his first attempt he's out there just stomping tricks down his body just shifted off his board a little bit and it got away from him so here's Chris Cole doing a little crowd control knowing where he wants to land he's sitting in third place right now before I want to say no that got Sprint Center on their feet nine point one for Chris Cole another 9 Club score here in the control section Chris Cole jumps up the first place overall take another look at this 9 Club replay he rocks it a frontside bluntslide turning backwards backside flips out of it flinch effortless look what perfect skateboarding looks like did you see how it hit his back foot before he landed totally under control so Chris Cole in first place it's gonna be hard to wipe back smile that's a real smile I was just gonna say so here's the water all over so after a couple of big tricks is now sitting in seventh position failed on his first attempt and he'll cliffnotes i-270 out he already got two nines right now we get him to third one he's jumping out of that seventh spot for sure close 8.4 8.4 for the one Oliveira jumping him up to second place Nyjah Huston says is so serious so here's Nyjah second attempt now the healed front side nose slide you know what it's like you got a nut job you nudge him a little bit and it's like a cat in the corner a 9.0 from Roger Houston 9/3 nine in the control section control section dr. hood take another look at this nightclub group so it just knows that's a nose alley we call it a nollie nollie heelflip to front side nose slide the best part is every nine was so spotless so Nyjah gets back in the first place that's his third nine of the 2013 season are we gonna get up up and down frontside feeble grind nine from Mikey Taylor there's Mikey currently in seventh place tall order and is this gonna say that's a tough task for any but it's almost like 20 feet of rail right there up and down Mikey with this second miss here's P Rob ok Paul about to blow the arena to smithereens if he makes this trick right here ends up being a nollie flip noseslide it fell off the truck definitely not what Paul wanted but he's got two more tries they'll be back for more certainly that's a 5.0 so they stick to that nine point four as he stays in fourth place there's Tom asta sitting it's bit [Music] switch healed fruit tail got stuck on the truck and it surprised them then he watched out and lost that sometimes these technical tricks don't land exactly where you're expecting them to live and that one moment of startle that just kind of just throws you off you're still in reader he's got a 7.5 thus far on the section there it is Smith grind up and down man he's just putting on a demonstration of style power this is just too much I know 8.04 Dillon readers so that jumps him up in the fifth place villain got himself a little insurance right there so here's Chris Paul remember the nine club with the ninth his previous attempt Wow back to 7-eleven and maybe gonna come to 70 out that's the beauty Felix if once you get into the 9 Club in this section you go all out man you never know what these guys have the deepest bags of church he's the one over there looking for a switch bigspin heelflip gets away from them so I just got grimace what does this mean so here's Nyjah Huston already a 9.0 to his name and where's it going Heathcliff front-side bluntslide shove it talk about technicality an interesting play from 9 to there we'll see what he's got in store for attempts 4 & 5 so let's take a look at the standings as we're through the first 3 attempts of the control section its Nyjah Huston in the lead Chris Cole right behind him luan Oliveira and P rod there as well so stick around when we come back more control section don't go anywhere [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the NBA Finals continue tonight on ABC as LeBron James and the heat looked for the split before the series heads to San Antonio Game two of the NBA Finals tonight at 8:00 on ABC coverage begins at 7:30 with the Kia NBA countdown so Felix Kansas City has been an incredible host here for Street League skateboarding Nike SB World Tour stop three their hero Sean Malto already eliminated but an incredible show thus far led by Nyjah Huston I'm not gonna lie I'm most excited by the Dylan Reader show right now Nigel's on top crisco's killing it luan sneaking up there could he have the wind today who knows so here we go attempts four and five for the control section we've already got three scores of nine it's just been an insane nine club party here so Mikey Taylor right now is on that bubble position one guy does get eliminated he is sitting in that seventh spot he needs a make here and it's a tough choice if to keep trying the same trick but it seems like that's the path he's chosen locks into the front feeble solid and dries up again I definitely think he - he matted him better off changing it up so Mikey Taylor does not get a score there he's got an eight point four in the past but that's a tough uphill battle right there literally ladies Paul Rodriguez already in nine point four now I put crooked grind Paul's actually trying to nollie late front foot flip out of that so pierot stays in fourth place and here is Tom asta he is in sixth place right now he's got an 8.0 little insurance wouldn't hurt just not enough pop right there to get himself on the ledge so asta makes it three straight kick aways as he stays in sixth place and here's Dylan reader as we've said skating in his very first Street League final has looked very impressive we got it give it up to Dylan right here one time for all the purists and skateboarding no logos no stickers on his board just doing it complete anti NASCAR this t-shirt and jeans so here's Dylan reader attempt number four so admirable powerhouse blazing right now at these four stairs Oh kickflip locks up on the top stair so Dylan's got one more try on that trick if he wants to go for it from his body English it looks like he thought he had it and he just hung up and got bucked onto his shoulder it was Chris Cole currently in second place [Applause] Sokol does not land that he stays in second place up next luan Oliveira sitting in third he's already got an eight point four switch bigspin heelflip gets away from the one who usually nails that one [Applause] I'm just getting word that Mikey Taylor due to an injury will not do a final 2/5 attempts I was talking to him he's had a problem with his growing he hurt himself Street skating and it started to get a little aggravated and I think a couple of these attempts may have tweaked him out a little further so with that Mikey is out and therefore eliminated that Mikey was in the bubble position and that means time is safe Tom will live on to see the impact section here's P rod he's gonna go for one more time the most difficult trick ever tried in a skateboarding contest well not what he wanted but that shows what a champion is he saved the bet he saved a mistake and then even upgraded on the way out he got a nollie flip noseslide big spin out when thinking he was gonna land in the crooked grind a seven point seven Paul Rodriguez he can't even mess up right Felix as we take another look at P rod so he does a nollie flip looking for a crooked grind lands in a no sign says you know what I'm P rod I'm just gonna shove it out of this Sophia rod will stay in fourth place and Tom asta who is in sixth position but again is safe as Mikey Taylor cannot skate on you could use a make here you still want to stack up as many points as you can going into this last section and wow that would have been a big score so Tom asta did get an 8.0 right off the top he will hold onto that dillan reader a switch frontside heelflip tailslide 270 out would have been another trick brand new discreetly we're seeing a lot of that on this course today Felix these guys are really doing some skateboarding on their off time so there's Dylan reader on his fifth and final attempt he arena wants this kickflip you could hear it oh man he was like a foot above that stair but his body was just behind it you know it's gonna be really exciting right now Dylan's strongest section is where we're heading to right now that's right the impact section so this is really anybody's game this is what it all comes down to with Street League and normally the impact section isn't such a strong section for Dylan so Chris Cole unable to land there he'll stick to his nine point one and stay in second place luan Oliveira he's got an eight point four this is his fifth and final attempts a nine point six would actually give him the overall lead path cap he'll flip no side sticks that's where that wax comes in for all you people who don't skateboard and see them benches looking a little dirty yeah we may it came by and put some wax on him we need those things to slide but hey they still work for you could still sit down right so here's nyjah huston on his fifth and final at cents he's got a 9.0 he's in the lead what's he got not one to settle cake for clump fun big spin-out almost rides away we got a chuckle out of him so Nyjah Huston unable to land there but he does stay in the lead a look at the standings through the control section shows Nyjah Huston in the lead with Chris Cole and luan Oliveira right behind him Chris Cole is less than a point away the shootout right now whoever's got the most mo is taking this one home Wow what a finish we are gearing up toward in the impact section let's check out the Nike SB moment of impact and it's Chris Cole with this nine point one frontside bluntslide backside kickflip out a combination of two tricks incredible dump flawlessly right there so much control so good for second place for Chris Cole let's go down to the third member of our team who is out on the course right now Jordan Whitley alright guys well it's hard to believe but this is the farthest Chris Cole has made it all year he is in the zone I tried to catch up with him just now and he's strategizing he says I have four minutes to get this together because you know what he wants his first one guys yeah no doubt about that skating as well as we've seen him in all of 2013 speaking of 2013 let's check out the remaining events on the schedule after this we head to Munich Germany as part of X Games at the end of June then on a Portland Oregon July 14th X Games Los Angeles in August and then the super crown World Championship on August 25th when we come back the impact section your overall leader Nyjah Huston [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] coverage of major-league baseball continues on ESPN tonight at 8:00 it's a battle in the National League Central as Carlos Beltran leads the Cardinals against Joey Votto and the Reds then Monday at 7:00 AL East rivals square off his David Ortiz and the Red Sox head in the trough to take on Evan Longoria and the Rays both games are on ESPN and also live on watch ESPN who's seeing great coverage from Penn Valley skate park here in Kansas City where actual obstacles from a Street League course worth donated for the kids to skate with and you are checking out live coverage of the final of Street League skateboarding Nike SB World Tour at Sprint Center in Kansas City Missouri Brandon Graham along with Felix Arguelles and Felix I don't say this too often but this contest is absolutely going to come down to final tricks you can just feel it this is a Street League finish this is exactly what Rob formulated when he created the format and these guys are gonna deliver men yeah there's been some surprises but to me it's all going to come down to the final tricks of this section so we take a look at the overall standings now heading into the impact section its Nyjah Huston in the lead but Chris Cole luan Oliveira Paul Rodriguez right behind them Dylan reader a newcomer to a Street League final also making some noise this is gonna be so exciting because Dylan has done the best in this impact section that he's ever done so he's really set up for a great finish and Chris Cole's only one point less than one point behind Nyjah for the win well there you see the start list for the impact section again each skater getting six we count before of the best scores so to kick things off it'll be Tom asta his highest score trick of all time in Street League is 7.5 which he did in 2012 surprising surprising bail from Tom master right there and again Felix we talked about this with Street League it's all about format it's all about strategies words have never been truer when it comes to the impact section although a rookie he has the calmness of a veteran out there that really surprised me he was killing on fire gap to them said the Dylan show continues man I know this is his first final but I don't think he knows that a seven point one jumping up in the first place you can just tell when it's somebody's day and he's just out there doing it he's doing him this is how he skates he's just really feeling the course and works out great let's check out the GoPro replay so the fish eye on that girl Pro really demonstrates its a 10-foot ally to get onto that rail amazing [Applause] so Paul Rodriguez up next in fifth place this is that ping-pong effect you're going to see guys start jumping up we've got to keep your eye on the leaderboard huge trick matter and here we go switch backside tailslide perfect a pierot signature it's almost unfair that Paul can skate so good switch this how did the judges judge him - credible so as seven point seven foot ball jumps him up in the first place up next luan Oliveira cruelly ranked fourth switch 270 out we're three for three right here in the impact section these guys are really going for it so the lon Oliveira with a seven point one jumping him up to second place so here's Chris Cole easily skating his best at the 2013 season start off with the long frontside bluntslide this could be cold day so the score coming in for Chris Cole Boston up to a 7.5 first place right now for Chris Cole we haven't seen Chris Carr on top in a while this could be the one he's been looking for so here's 90 Houston mr. number one what's he got kickflip front court I told you don't push it when he's in the corner you never know what night just got man first go in the impact section Nyjah Huston back in the 9 Club on 9.1 where does he take it from here though if that's your first trick in the final in the back section when the money's on the line 10-foot kickflip to frontside boardslide talk about critical man this kid's fearless fearless Nyjah Huston with another 9 here today in the final he just stays in the Knights I used to call him 9 jump remember of course I remember [Applause] Tom asta oh that kickflip nose grind gets away from it got a little dry and he put his back truck down Nyjah is averaging a nine all day long Wow first time ever heard of he's hired a a 3.14 Tom asked up neck so Dylan reader could actually take the lead with a 4.0 there and he's got it on that gap the front board he didn't flip in that rage' but he needed to make any kotti well ladies and gentlemen a 7.0 for Dylan reader I know it's early in the impact section but Dylan is leading in the finals with lead time in first place someone take a picture that leaderboard check out the Nike SB keys to success here in the impact section just essential to go as big as you can the land the biggest tricks possible and put it all out so here's Paul Rodriguez he's sitting in fourth out of 7.7 on attempt number one switch frontside tailslide 270 out Paul stacking them climbing up the leaderboard sky's a pro he's a bet nobody has to do Paul Rodriguez on top this is what we say about that ping-pong effect you're just going to see names bouncing here over the next few attempts into that first play spot so here's nuan Oliveira sitting in fifth not only notice a 270 out [Applause] one bail so far these guys are really putting it down yeah this is a next-level impact section thus far a six point seven for low on that jumps him up in a second place so Dylan moves down two spots which puts Dylan to the test he needs to make something now to Driscoll he had a 7.5 attempt number two Holly over to bluntslide so original so difficult and he had to hop out in the middle it's a big drop on that side let's see what the judges score it 7.5 Chris pulled back on top Chris Cole skating as well as we've seen him in a long time as he takes the overall lead but Nyjah Huston he doesn't like not being in first place oh my goodness oh my goodness he had done a gap to back lipslide now he's kickflip back lift another nut guaranteed 9.5 18.54 Nyjah Huston and that is a contest high for the day his second consecutive nine in the impact section take another look and he just told Chris Cole hey stay back a little bit and pushed him down four points with that gap to backside lipslide he had to kickflip ten feet before landing on that rail kickflip backside lipslide textbook Nyjah nine choice I mean I mean Nyjah Nyjah Huston and looking to deck yourself out in league apparel you can shop online vlog on the shop Street League calm for hats hoodies t-shirts and more when we come back we're gonna find out who wins this thing Nyjah Huston in the lead [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] welcome back to the Street League skateboarding Nike SB World Tour our monster girls are hanging on to the winning Hardware soon that will be the hands of the winner from Kansas City a look now at the standings as we head into the final attempts in the impact section it's been the Nyjah Huston showed us far Felix I mean incredible averaging a nine for the whole day is just like there's no words for it back to back nines to start off his impact section he's going to a level that we didn't even think he could get to but Chris Cole is really putting heat on him he's only got a four point spread on cold second place so Tom asta currently in sixth place will take off on his third attempt here in the impact there's that Tom asta kickflip nose grind although not as dynamic as the other tricks have gone down definitely one of the harder tricks that's happened in that section the judges seem to think so an 8.0 so behind nyjah's nines that's actually the second-highest I should say third highest score of the day in the impact section here's Dylan reader who's been really put on the show for the fans of kc completely explosive throughout this entire event in this section gap to slip burning wow what a day so Felix an 8.0 for Dylan reader and he jumps back in the first place if any of these guys fall right now it's going to cost him the event again each skater gets six it sends your best for scores count Paul Rodriguez with frontside tailslide setting up is pretty pizza just jump to the top guaranteed here put the switch frontside tailslide he'll flip out Balrog is on top in 50.6 anyone's game right now wow-p raw jumping up in the first place because this ain't no middle-of-the-mall trick right here it's contact else I watch him adjust his foot so critical right here in the middle nollie heelflips out boom bolts that's right there man that's some pierot skateboarding Oliveira sitting been around that corner hot with the kickflip 15-foot kickflip over the double set [Applause] one bumps up to second place this leaderboard is a pinball stuck in the corner in 8.1 for luan as he jumps up in a second here's Chris Cole an eight point one for Cole would get Mendeley I've got no slide oh my god [Applause] - backside tailslide to fakie what do you score that I don't want to be a judge right now Chris Cole 0.8 Chris Paul takes the top spot Chris Cole back in first place after it's nip number three - take another look half cap no slide he nollies 180 around - backside tailslide and then comes out fakie as well but saves it amazing the watch we have all five guys one trick apart for the top spot this is never happy to default so here's Nyjah Huston gap - frontside nosegrind Nyjah one at the top spot back he's in position right now a 4.5 we'll put him back in the first place that's gonna be a one in eight point one jump and Nyjah back up into his familiar spot of first place but as he said Felix it may not be safe for long here's Tom asta in sixth place huh master need solid makes her like that nollie heelflip the crooked grind now don't come Tom out because if these guys fall and turn keeps making solid moves I got ten could work his way to the top softer an 8.0 on his third attempt he gets an eight point eight on the tip number four chipping away so here's Dylan reader who's been making life very difficult for everybody else a six point six for the lead gap to backside lipslide Dylan is just on fire today the best we've ever seen Dylan skate has a skateboarder this is one of those days that you never want to end you don't want to go dark you don't want to stop filming Dylan's back on top and eight point three for Dylan Raider as he reclaims first place flawless flawless impact section there's only been one miss this entire section Felix this course is really productive for these guys oh my gosh the Paul show nollie flip crooked grind couldn't have been done any better eight point seven four p rot on his fourth attempt he jumps back in the first place Wow Paul really knows ollie Oren Ollie he flips it on his back foot I said nollie flip to crooked grind cooking drives when you paint your truck on the actual edge of then you when you release the pressure in knowledge you off the end amazing so such thing as a safe lead gear today here's the one Oliveira he has yet to miss switch frontside tailslide oh my god I think he was going to try and switch 270 heelflip out of that really looking back for some torque he's he's a little speed right now where's he going here's Chris Cole and eight would give him the lead oh my oh man captain noseblunt takes the gap to rail up another notch that was so sketchy enough of that get nine of the kris kohls now up by almost two points in the lead take another look at this 9 Club replay from Chris Cole that was show hairball you see it leave his feet a little bit his back foot first then his front foot afterwards and he still manhandles it off to the rail Felix we are witnessing the greatest impact section in Street League but the nicest I just been watching lost his grimace he's currently sitting in fourth place a 5.4 would give him the overall lead going to kind of slow he's going check yes he is going technology drive through a double kink Wow first he just went by Oh with the big gap to stuff and now he just took it to a full technical level so an 8.9 just missing out on his fourth nine of the day Chris Cole was able to enjoy that for about the four seconds jumps him up back in the first place here's Tom asta with crank in there for a backside flip out of that I've seen him do that over the weekend back we've been a huge score imagine Houston by the way already with the highest score in the history of street league without 53.5 and even done dylan reader o gap to backside Smith grind so tough so Dylan's first miss keeps him in fourth place and the pressure is on he WOD needs an eight point three to get back in a first place on his fifth attempt has to let it rip here there's no more holding back this is way too tight switchback tailslide Oh Travis defeat spit out he started to shove a little bit too early and the end of his board hit the ledge stopping the board to spin except pierot stays in third here's neon oliveira currently in fifth position which protects outside big screen out see when you're gonna shove it off the ledge you really have to wait that split second when you and that makes the clearance to be able to shove it so we wanna bouncing back a 7.5 for him there and here's Chris player he can't take the overall lead on the one single trip so he's got a tricky way here and hit that Nyjah falters let's Crisco guy that little slide not too something oh man that would have been another 9 right there she's trying to get to 70 out of that half cap no side he struck one more shot at it but he's not gonna be able to catch lag unless he bailed right now oh he stood OH may have tough one tough one so here's magic Huston who is currently in first place already how's it miss yet cap to back those look and he's gonna get another attempt at that Wow these guys just do not hold back so here we go for the sixth and final attempts and Felix will let Tom ask one for the people gets away from moving put your hands together at home with Tom Master Dylan one time for the people these are all for the people here so here's Dylan reader the best he could do his third place he would need a 9.5 yes yes Dylan's best showing at Street League ever where does that leave them a 93 for Dylan Dylan Club we've never seen this many nines in a contest Felix what an amazing performance by everybody take another look gasps into one of the most awkward positions the backside Smith grind so much stuff could go wrong and he manages to land on his board afterwards all those losses it left his feet for a second but still pull his lazy style Felix if he doesn't miss on his fifth attempt we're talking about him possibly jumping back into the lead oh wow this is really getting tight here so here's Paul Rodriguez his best finish can be second place if he Meritus that has to be a nine as well which backside tailslide switch big spin out [Applause] give it to him are you kidding me I'm collecting 9 Paul Rodriguez a 9.0 [Applause] Oliveira so that got Tommy Pham the ball 9 put that mean the wine gets another Noon Saloon Oliveira on his sixth and final intense 9.3 9.2 another nine oh wow Knight to Houston one more for the people for the baseball he cannot win the best he can do is second oh man is out of control this is out of control you know what's gonna happen no I'm just gonna make this gap to back nose bug - this is some Street League stuff right here everyone is on their feet my spies enter on the 9.5 for Driscoll Wow he jumps up to second place with just one point away from Nigel as epic as that was it could not catch not using this is a victory lap for Nigel and that is serious incredible another nine please I'll take a nine nine eight incredible ending although we knew Nigel's on top you never never never the newest let you down highest scorer trick of this season Nyjah Huston with a 9.8 and he wins his third consecutive Street League event take a look at the final standing look at the last run of goes all nines in a row except for Tom but still an amazing finish so Nyjah Huston is able to fend off Chris Paul Paul Rodriguez and the rest of the game to claim his third consecutive win here for the 2013 season let's take another look and nine jaw bumps his average to 9.2 over the whole day incredible alley out ten feet he actually what about 11 feet into that backside noseblunt Wow history in the making when we come back we will be talking with Nyjah Huston our winner from today you don't want to miss that stick around [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you can actually pull this one out sike [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] dropping and of course you averaged a nine all day which you had never done before it's never been done in the history of Street League take me through this contest put in perspective yeah I was in saying out there everyone was skating so good it's literally insane I mean Paul's a nollie flip crooked 70 he'll flip like all those tricks are so gnarly I'm honestly just thankful that I was able to gap out to the rail I wasn't sure if I was ever going to be able to at first and I was able to adjust to it enough because if I wasn't able to do that I don't know what else I would have done out there well we knew this course was gonna push everyone and it was exciting to see what you guys did congratulations and we'll send things back to you guys well let's take a look now at our monster highest score trick awarded to who else Nyjah Huston with this incredible 9.8 Felix there the monster girls there's the monster rider with the monstrous trick gap to backside noseblunt slide on the
