you guys saw in that little clip I got killed by a saloon so today I'm going to be bringing you guys 15 things that you didn't know about the slime in Minecraft now if you guys do enjoy today's video then be sure to give this video a like rating as it's going to help me out a huge bunch but anyways without further ado let's go ahead and get straight into today's video I hope you will enjoy it so we all know that currently in Minecraft today the slimes appearance and texture looks like this however when the slime was first added in 2010 they used to have a different texture and oh my god they look so creepy you guys are not ready for this so back in the alpha phase of Minecraft the old texture for the slime that looks like this and you can see that it's a lot more solid looking with a darker eyes and creepy a lot more creepy the slime was the fifth hostile mob to ever be added into Minecraft and it was added in the alpha one point zero point eleven update on July 22nd 2010 back in the earlier days of Minecraft in the Alpha one point zero point eleven update the slime used to come in four different sizes rather than three so currently in Minecraft we have the tiny slime the small slime and the big slime in minecraft alpha however there were four sizes as I mentioned and those sizes were the tiny slime the small slime the big slime and then the huge slime and oh my god this slime was just it was huge here is some gameplay to show just how huge this huge line that really was in minecraft alpha just look at it an interesting fight is that a slimed speed of attack is twice as fast of all the other hostile mobs in Minecraft an example would be the following zombies and spiders attack at the rate of one hit per second whereas slimes actually attack at a rate of two hits per second we could make them considerably harder to kill compared to the more common mobs that are found in Minecraft if you use a name tag on a large slime and then kill the large slime you will notice that once it's killed all of the smallest lines that are produced in its place will have all the same names from the name tag above their heads which is a very interesting funnily enough slimes are actually able to climb ladders as long as there is enough space for them to do so so we all know that when the player tries to sleep in a bed with hostile mobs around they will be greeted with the message you may not rest now there are monsters nearby the same cannot be said for the slime however because when you try to sleep in the bed with slimes around it will not trigger the sleep message and all the slimes will instead just attack you when you sleep back in the earlier days of Minecraft slimes were a lot more rare and more difficult to find in your Minecraft world so from minecraft alpha to beta one point a slimes could only spawn on levels zero to sixteen making them very hard to find you know because that's Diamond level that is very deep in the caves however in the beta 1.9 update the spawn rate was changed so they would spawn on levels 0 to 39 rather than 0 to 16 making them a lot more common to find underground slimes were made even more common in the 1.4.2 update as they made it so that slimes could now spawn in swamp biomes at levels 50 to 70 in light levels of 7 or less in the next update 1.5 to be precise Slimers porn rates were altered even more that's right they changed is so that slimes that spawned in swamp biomes would only spawn depending on the current moon phase so basically the more food the moon was the more slimes that would spawn so in other words the easiest way to naturally find slimes is to find one when there is a full moon it's trivia time this is the part of the video where you guys that show me your Minecraft knowledge by me asking you a random minecraft that question pumpkins are rarer than diamonds true or false using commands you can actually alter the size of the slime and make them as big as you want so for example if I make it size at 10 you will see that the slime is pretty big not gonna like look at it it's huge I can spawn a slime that we have size 100 and I'll um oh my god it's it's massive its massive I can't deal with this sadly when slimes were first able to spawn in the swamp biomes they weren't actually given the ability to swim they weren't given swimming lessons guys instead if they jumped into the water they would simply just fall into the ocean and drown rest in peace' loins that drowned sadly because Mojang didn't get them swimming lessons you will be missed however in the 1.8 Update signs were finally given the ability to swim as there was a new AI system implemented for them thank you so much as we all know to obtain a slime balls in Minecraft you must kill slimes which it makes sense I mean killing slimes should give you slime balls now for every slime at you kill you have a chance of receiving anywhere from zero to two slime balls not only that but slimes drop experience orbs that are equal to their size so in other words the bigger the slime the more XP you're gonna get for example big slimes at job for XP orbs small slimes will drop to XP orbs and the tiny cute slimes will only drop one XP when slimes were added into Minecraft in the alpha phase in 2010 they were instantly given the ability to drop slime balls upon death however all the way through alpha and most of the beta phase of Minecraft a slime ball dropped for the slime that was just completely useless as they couldn't be used for anything it wasn't until the late stages of beta in beta 1.7 where slime balls were finally given a purpose as you could use them to craft sticky pistons when minecraft moved into 1.0 and was officially released the slimeballs were given three additional uses within the game's crafting system that's right slime balls are now able to be used to craft leads magma cream and most importantly slime blocks back in the earlier days of Minecraft in the alpha phase of the game at the slime actually used to have different sounds so the sounds given to the slime in alpha were of course the first ever sounds given to the slime so it goes without saying that they're going to sound a little bit weird now because the sound that sounded so strange they were later replaced with the sounds that we use today for the slime in the 1.4 update here take a listen
