so a lot of you have been asking me to do things that you didn't know about nametags in Minecraft so here I am today to do exactly that so what's going on guys my name is Anthony and today I'm going to be bringing you all 15 things that you didn't know about the name tag in Minecraft now if you guys do enjoy today's video then be sure to give this video a like rating as it's going to help me out a huge bunch now if this video is able to hit over 7,000 likes then that would just be amazing not gonna lie but anyways without further ado let's go ahead and get straight into today's video I hope you will enjoy it the name tag was officially added into Minecraft in version release one point 6.1 on July 1st 2013 back in the earlier days of Minecraft attempting to a name a villager with a name tag would annoyingly open the trading interface instead of just naming the villager itself now players were able to counteract this annoying bug by simply standing inside of a nether portal and before they would be put into the nether they would just simply hold a name tag in their hand right-click on the villager and bam you would name a villager by just standing in the portal however in Minecraft today name tags are used on villages will always name the villager instead of opening the trading interface which is I'm sure I'm just so happy about that man you have no idea how annoying it was in earlier versions of Minecraft to attempt to name a villager you know a name of my choice I don't want to open the trading interface name tags are one of those rare items in Minecraft that do not actually have a crafting recipe you actually have to find them naturally in your world now because of this lots of people in the Minecraft community have made a crafting recipe suggestions for the name tag and here are a few examples [Music] now which crafting recipe do you think is the most realistic for the name tag and do you think there should be a crafting recipe at all for this item let me know in the comment section below I personally think the recipe of using two paper and one string diagonally is the most realistic but then again that would be quite easy so this is quite a difficult one not gonna lie but let me know how you think the name tag should be crafted I'd say this fax was just more of a discussion rather than a fax but anyways moving on to to name tags not having a crafting recipe in vanilla minecraft the player instead has to find them in generated structures within your Minecraft world so first of all what name tags can be found at naturally in 29% of the dungeon chests throughout your world so they are fairly rare in dungeons but hey if you get lucky you're still able to find them there secondly name tags can be found in 42% of minecart chests in abandoned mineshaft so I'd say they're fairly common to find within the mineshaft so you're better off looking in buyed shafts rather than dungeons to be honest you have a much better chance of finding them there and finally nametags can naturally be found in once again 29% of chests that generate in the woodland mansions but if you're looking for chests in woodland mansions please be careful of those Vindicator mobs they are pretty deadly not gonna lie now there are actually a few other ways in which the player can obtain a nametag in vanilla minecraft that's right nametags can actually be caught by the player when they are fishing this is because nametags can be caught as part of the treasure item category for fishing however it's worth noting that when fishing you have an 85% chance to catch a normal fish a 10% chance to catch junk items and a 5% chance to catch actual treasure items so your chances of actually getting a nametag when fishing is very rare but it's still possible it's all so worth noting that players have a higher chance to catch a nametag when it's raining as the catch rate when fishing for anything is higher when it rained the other way in which the player can obtain a nametag is through villager trading although it is quite expensive that's right the player is actually able to trade in 20-plus emeralds to the librarian villager in exchange for one nametag now like I said that is very expensive and you will have to spend a long time collecting emerald so it's probably worth just finding a nametag in a mine shaft or dungeon nice voicecrack Antonia anyways moving on I am so cringe this is more of a known fact but I thought I'd throw it in there anyway but there is actually a really funny name tag Easter egg where if you name a mob Dinnerbone or Grum then the mob that you put the name tag on will be flipped upside down and they will look absolutely hilarious oh my god they just look so funny just look at this creeper man you're right there mate how you doing no no no no just go up the next name tag Easter egg in Minecraft is the hidden rabbit skin that can only be visible by using name tags so naming a rabbit toast will actually give the rabbit a black and white skin as you can see on screen this was done because when Ryan Holtz was developing rabbits a reddit user asked him to make a skin that would look like his girlfriend's lost of rabbit who was called toast Ryan Holtz added the Easter eggs so naming a rabbit to toast would change its skin to look like the original rabbit as a memorial it's quite a sad backstory but it's also very lovely that Mojang took that into consideration and added it as a feature the next name tag Easter egg that is within Minecraft is the rainbow sheet so if you name a sheep JEP underscore with a name tag then the Sheep will cycle through all its wool colors looking like a rainbow sheep as you can see on screen as I've mentioned before this is a reference to Mario getting a star and becoming Starman Mario in the Mario games the final name tag Easter egg within Minecraft is all to do with the Vindicator mod so naming a Vindicator Johnny with a name tag will cause the Vindicator to attack any nearby mobs including creepers now this is actually a reference to the movie at the shining with the scene here's Johnny that was a cringy impression I'll disable the original scene it's trivia time this is the part of the video where you guys that show me your Minecraft knowledge by me asking you a random minecraft back question so let's go ahead and get straight into it a fork called crying obsidian was going to be added into Minecraft true or false there is actually a rather interesting backstory into how nametags were added into Minecraft so the idea of a nametags was not actually thought of by the Minecraft team themselves instead nametags were added into the game at the request of the Minecraft community now more specifically former minecraft youtuber Paul sauce a junior was the big guy who requested for nametags to be added as you can see from the tweet on-screen if any hostile mob in your Minecraft world like a creeper for example is renamed with a name tag and then kills the player then the name that they were given with the name tag will show as a death message in place of the original mob name so in my case it will say I deactivate MC blew up by Charlie the creeper I always get killed by creepers I'm just a bit bad at Minecraft honestly if you table wolf and Ocelot a horse alarma or a parrot and then name one of the mobs with a nametag their corresponding and name you gave them with the name tag will appear as a death message in the chat if they happen to die rest in peace I deactivate MC the wolf you will be missed but anyways that just about does it for today's video about the name tag everybody I really hope you all enjoy dear and or found it informative now as always if you guys did enjoy this video then be sure to give this video a like rating and if you guys want to play online minecraft server then the IP as always is plate or ID MC hop dotnet but anyways I'm going to go now everybody because I am just really hungry really hope you all enjoyed it be sure to leave your video suggestions and the comments below but yeah I'm gonna go now so have a fantastic day and I will see you all in my next video goodbye thanks
