you can draw this in procreate i am sure that you can draw this in procreate because i have developed this you can draw this video especially for people without any experience with drawing or procreate but even if you have followed all of the other you can draw this videos and if you have experience with procreate then this is still a very fun tutorial to follow so be sure to watch the video all the way till the end and once you're finished share your work on instagram and tag me in the image not just in the description so i will be able to find your work and perhaps we'll see your work in the next you can draw this video so for this tutorial you don't need any experience and we will just be using the brushes that are already in the procreate app if you want more after watching this you can draw this video then be sure to check out my patreon page where i share a lot more video tutorial content ranging from beginner tutorials to more advanced tutorials alright let's get started our canvas is 2500 pixels by 2500 pixels and if you want to use the exact same colors i'm using in this tutorial then you can download the color palette through the link in the description and if you want to make sure that the colors really do look the same then set your canvas to the color profile srgb iec long code which i can never quite remember the first step is to give a color to our background you can go to the layer menu that's these two squares and then click background color and we'll use this color in the color palette it's a very dark blue now go to the layer menu again and make sure that you're on layer one and then for the color we will pick this very light color and we'll start off our light bulb by creating a circle and we'll do that with the monoline brush which you can find under calligraphy for the size we can go to something like 20 doesn't really matter and we'll draw a circle just hold your pen in place once you've closed the circle and then tap one finger on your screen to make it snap to a perfectly round circle and i will want to make the bottom part of our light bulb and we will want to make sure that this circle is in the exact center of our canvas and we can do that by going to the arrow here and then go to snapping and make sure that snapping is turned on now if you move your circle around you can let it snap to the exact vertical center of your canvas and that's what we want so just place it there and then you can click the arrow again to get out of that menu next we are going to turn on symmetry we'll do that by going to the wrench then to canvas and then turn on drawing guide now go to edit drawing guide and here turn on symmetry then click done and now whatever we will draw on the left side of the canvas will also show up on the right side and now let's draw that underside of our light bulb we will start about here and make a curved line going down to the center where it will meet with the other side now my line got a little bit wobbly but that's fine we can just go over it and adjust it a little bit so that it's a nice smooth looking lower side of the light bulb and once you're happy with the shape you can drag in the color just by dragging in the circle and filling your shape and we can go over this little edge here to close that and now we have our basic shape for our light bulb and now we can turn off the drawing guide we can go to the menu to the wrench and then turn off the drawing guide here because we don't need that vertical line and you can go to the layer click it and turn off drawing assist so now symmetry is turned off for this layer what we'll do now is add a mask to this layer you can do that by clicking it and then select mask now on this mask layer that is attached to layer one we can paint on that with black and mask part parts of this layer with the light bulb so we'll make parts of that layer invisible and we'll do that by using a soft brush we'll go to airbrushing and use the soft brush and set it to black you can just double tap at the bottom here in a circle to select pure black the opacity of the brush is set to 40 and the size of the brush is at 20 and now we are going to block the center part of our light bulb but we are going to leave the edges so we'll go over the center make circular motions but don't go all the way to the edges we'll go down here and because the opacity of this brush is pretty low we will have to make multiple strokes multiple passes to make this more transparent but that gives you a lot of control and we'll go again start at the center make circular motions to the outside until that center part is almost entirely transparent but just don't go all the way to the edges [Music] we want that center part to be more transparent and on the outside we'll still see that white of the light bulb this is looking nice let's create a new layer let's go to the layer menu click the plus to create a new layer and on this layer we will add a little bit of extra to that glass we'll still be using the soft airbrush or the airbrush that is called soft brush but we'll just make it a little bit smaller it's at twenty percent right now but we'll go to five percent so let's go down here to five percent and we'll add some highlights to this glass i'll make a bended shape here following that curve of the light bulb you can make multiple strokes since we have that low opacity we'll make a smaller one here a bit like an oval just make multiple strokes and we can make our brush even smaller let's go to two percent and make a little highlight here at the top again use multiple strokes to make it more opaque now let's make the bottom part of our light bulb we'll go to the layers again and create a new layer and we'll drag that to the bottom so that it's underneath our light bulb for the brush we will go to inking and use the dry ink brush and for the color we will use this light gray color and the brush size is at six percent now we'll create an oval right here at the bottom of our light bulb you can rotate your canvas a bit with two fingers to make it a bit easier for you and i'll just make an oval right here and you can use edit shape to adjust it a little bit i want that lower curve to be just like that lower curve of the light bulb to nicely fit there let's rotate our canvas to take a better look you can make it a little bit more flat just make it attach to that lower part you can use these handles to play around and i think this is looking good we can just click the brush to get out of that menu for the next step we will make a new layer again and we'll place it underneath this oval that we just created so click the plus and then drag this layer underneath that oval for the brush we will go back to the monoline brush which you can find under calligraphy and we will make it super big we will go to a hundred percent and for the color we will use this first color here in the second line and now let's create another oval just underneath this one hold your pen in place and use edit shape again to make sure that it's looking the way you want it to make it attach to that oval that we just created a bit like this then click the brush to get out of there and now let's duplicate this little oval you can do that by dragging down with three fingers and then clicking duplicate now let's go to snapping turn off snapping and turn on magnetics and let's drag this one down just a little bit to make this part a little bit thicker and then click the brush again to get out of there and now we can just use our brush to close these little gaps and to refine this edge a little bit make it a bit more rounded on both sides now we'll go to our layer menu and merge these two layers that we just created so be sure to not merge it with that little oval that we created in the first place just these fat two ovals that we just created and now we can duplicate these by swiping down with three fingers again click duplicate and drag this one down and we'll want to make this one a little bit smaller just drag it down a little bit and then you can click the brush to get out of there and now you can see that we have a slightly smaller oval just a little bit down and now we can duplicate this one again by swiping down with three fingers and clicking duplicate drag it down a little bit and make it smaller and i can click the brush to get out of the menu again now finally i want to make a little circle a little semi-circle at the bottom but i also want these two other ovals that i have made i want them to be below our top oval so this one that we just created is the bottom oval and this is the second one we want that to be between the top one and the bottom one and now i want to create that semi-circle that i talked about so let's click the plus for a new layer and then drag it down to the bottom now let's draw a circle we can just use the quick shape tool so hold your pen in place to create that circle and you can use edit shape and move it around a little bit i think it's fine here and now we can drag in the color to fill our little semi-circle now i would like to add some texture to this lower part and to do that we will turn on alpha lock on these layers click the layer turn on alpha lock and do that for each of these layers now alpha lock makes sure that the pixels on this layer on these layers that they are locked and we won't be able to create any new pixels outside of this on that checkerboard that you can see on the layer image so we will only be able to paint on these ovals now we'll start with the top one and for the brush we will go to spray paints and use the medium nozzle for our color we will use this dark gray color here that second color the opacity of the brush is at forty percent and for our size we will go to fifteen percent and now we are going to darken some parts let's first darken this top part that's the inside and then let's go over that lower area and add a little bit of shadow there that light bulb that will give light and yeah that will cause that bottom part here to be a bit darker now let's do the same thing for the next one for the one below so go to this layer and we'll add a little shadow here at the bottom just go over that edge and you can also add a slight shadow here at the top and now let's do the same for the one below so let's go eight layer down first at underside and then the top side just a little bit make sure that you don't cover it entirely because then it will just be one dark dark layer now let's go to the bottom one that's our circle and let's add a slight shadow there as well we'll do that at the top here and slightly at the bottom next we'll also add some highlights on these layers we'll do that with the light gray and we'll make the brush a little bit smaller let's go to well six percent and let's start with the top layer again and let's add a little bit of a highlight here just follow that shape make a curved line just on the right side of this oval because as you can see we have these highlights on the light bulb on this side so it makes sense to make the highlights on this side as well for this lower part of our light bulb now let's go to the layer below that other one and again make a highlight here following that curve of the oval [Music] then the one below we'll do the same add a little highlight here and finally we can add a little bit of a highlight to that circle at the bottom like that now it's time for the real fun part let's add light to our light bulb we will create a new layer that is below our glass but above our lower area of the lamp which i really don't know the name of in english let's click the plus to create that layer between these two parts and for the brush we will go to the luminance brushes and use the light pen and for the color we will use this yellow the brush opacity is at a hundred percent and the brush size is at 40 percent and i thought it would be fun to create a heart shape here so we'll start at the bottom and we'll go up and then here we'll start creating a heart shape [Music] and then we'll go back to the bottom of course we want this lamp to glow so let's add a glow we'll do that on a layer on top of all the others let's click layer three here then the plus for a new layer and for this layer we will change the layer blending mode you can do that by clicking the end and then we'll go to color dodge and for our brush we will use a soft brush we'll use that airbrushing brush again right here and for the color we will use this orange the brush opacity is still at forty percent and for the size we will go to twenty percent and now let's make a glow in the center here and let's go a little bit over the edges all we need more of course let's create another layer on top here we'll click the plus again and for this layer we will pick screen for the layer blending mode so again click that n and go to screen and we'll still be using that orange and the same brush size and again we'll go over that center adding some light orange here and on top of this we'll create another layer click the plus again this one will send to color dodge again but we will pick a different color we will use the yellow here now let's add some extra glow here in the center of our light bulb now that we added the light i feel like our glass for the light bulb might be a little bit too thick but it's very easy to fix that we can just go to that layer mask again that we added to the light bulb and while using the soft brush we can go over there and make that edge appear a little bit thinner so you can just use black to block parts of this light bulb if you have blocked too much then you can easily paint back parts by just using white you can double tap here in this area to pick pure white and you can go over and get your light bulb back so the layer mask gives you full control and you also have that control over the glow that you just added we have these on separate layers so you can easily play around just click the layer click the s here for example and you can play around with the opacity of these layers let's turn this one down a little bit to 70 percent for instance now let's add a little bit of light to the surroundings we'll create a new layer and we'll drag that one all the way to the bottom to work on the background we'll still be using that soft brush and for the color we will pick this lighter blue here and we'll start adding some light to the bottom here i'm making circular motions here lightening up that bottom part and we can go even lighter by picking this lighter blue here and make that center area even lighter i also want to add an orange glow so we'll pick that orange from the color palette to add the orange glow that that light bulb is emitting so let's go over this area and add a little bit of orange a nice warm glow and if you want to soften this of course you can go to the magic wand then to gaussian blur and click layer and then slide to the right to blur your entire layer to make it a bit more soft i'm going for a two percent just a subtle blur now i want to add a shadow and we'll do that on a separate layer again so click the plus for a new layer and let's pick this very very dark blue almost black for the brush let's use the medium brush the opacity for this brush is at a hundred percent and the size is at ten percent and now let's make a little oval here at the bottom to create a little shadow for our light bulb and again you can use the gaussian blur by going to the magic wand clicking layer here and sliding to the right to give it a slight blur i'm at seven and a half percent and just click the magic wand again to get out of that menu and there you have your lovely light bulb i hope you have enjoyed following this you can draw this video and if you did then you can support this channel by giving a thumbs up
