WOW! 2021 Discovery LXE 44S - Fleetwood RV Official walk through!

hey it's mike with fleetwood rv we're back at the factory today to take a look at another brand new floor plan that we're introducing to the discovery lxc lineup for the 25th anniversary of the discovery this is a 44 foot floor plan that features independent front suspension a steerable tag axle it's a large spacious open floor plan that has heated tile floors and to my knowledge it has the biggest sofa and the biggest shower in the industry and not to mention it has its own laundry room [Music] so here it is the 44s this particular unit is the platinum exterior graphic and with all discovery lxes we have the double clear what that's doing is going to keep your colors looking vibrant for many years and if you look up top we have our roof mount gerard awnings the first awning the front one is going to come standard with all discoveries lxes the rear one is an option now if you do get the anniversary package edition then the rear one will be included in that and we'll get into details more of what all is included in that anniversary edition later on so 2021 is the 25th anniversary for the discovery and for them full 25 years the discovery has always been one of the top selling motorhomes in the diesel lineup and that's partially due to the amazing features that we're incorporating into the discovery as well as the freedom bridge the freedom bridge is the industry's only fully integrated foundation it's utilizing the xcm modular freightliner chassis and just in case you're not for sure what a modular chassis is we'll pop up this quick 15 second clip to help detail that for you and now if you want to see more on a more of the detailed process on how that xcm and the freedom bridge are paired together click the link down in the description all right let's take a walk down the entertaining side of the unit look at some of the features first of all we have dual fuel fills so when you get to the fuel station there's only one pump available go ahead and take it because we can fill up from either side our first luggage compartment is storage comes standard this particular unit does have the optional dometic freezer inside of it these next three luggage compartments are all storage that are combined together this is a big benefit of using that modular chassis in the freedom bridge we're no longer building around frame rails the first luggage compartment has your standard 90 inch slide tray that can be accessed from either side of the unit and if you choose to do so you can have an optional second slide tray put in these this middle compartment coming up to the exterior entertainment system we have our flat screen television under this nice protective cover and we have a sound bar on the back of it that sound bar really enhances the audio for the exterior of the unit and that's really beneficial when we have up to 36 foot of patio coverage no more will you be the guy at the campground where you have six guys huddled underneath the 12 foot awning moving into the electrical compartment we have our central vac canister we have our surge guard and our transfer switch that transfer switch is allowing your motorhome to be powered by multiple power sources such as the shore cord or your generator also we have our 30 amp solar charger as far as solar goes the discovery lxe comes with a 100 watt solar panel now if you get the technology package we're going to bump that up to a 265 watt solar panel for you and if you get the anniversary edition it will come with the technology package in that 265 watt solar panel already as we said we are paired with freightliner custom chassis great thing about that not only have they mastered the ride of the motorhome they also have a bunch of great features one of them being v-ride what v-ride is doing is it's stabilizing your unit you hit them uneven surfaces your motor home don't shake no more also it really hugs the makes your motor home hug the road when you're going through tennessee taking them curves you can take them with confidence if you don't have v-ride your unit's going to want to try to drift outside that lane another one of those great features is the ultra steer ultra steer is a steerable tag axle this tire turns at 12 degrees it's going to give you a 17 reduction in your turn radius our chassis will turn eight feet inside the competition this is huge because like ninety percent of the accidents happen in the one percent of the time we're backing up with this ultra steer in the 60 degree wheel cut on the front you can turn this unit around in a very tight spaces which really eliminates the amount of time we're backing up moving back this compartment has some storage and our inverter disconnect switch and our inverter is located right back here now this is a 2 800 watt pure sine wave inverter and being pure sign you know all of your appliance inside are safe on to the back we have our backup camera up top that does have one way audio this way your spotter can communicate with you and give you directions on which way you need to go we have a 15 000 pound hitch and the 44 s is capable of pulling out full 15 000 pounds another badge you're going to see is the 450 xcm the xcm is dictating that we are using the modular chassis and it is 450 horsepower and 1150 foot-pounds of torque that is huge amount of torque and torque is very important to a motorhome now moving down the driver's side of the unit these first two luggage compartments are our battery bays so we have four house batteries in the first compartment and we have two house batteries on the bottom in the next compartment that's given us six batteries for our battery bank the two on the top are two 12 volt starting batteries we have our 13 gallon def tank and the def tank is using roughly two and a half percent of the fuel that we're using moving up to our utility bay we have all of the low point drains the exterior shower whole house filter and the biggest thing we have electric power cord reel for the 50 amp service and we have an electric reel for our city water these next three bays as we talked about on the other side are all full pass-through storages this is all connected into one large bay and the next compartment is our aqua hot 400d the aqua hot 400d runs off electric for light loads and the same 100 gallon fuel tank that's supplied by freightliner a lot of benefits come with an aqua hot you get nice moist air propane furnace drains out the humidity in the air getting you all stuffed up also you can take long hot showers no need to worry about running out of hot water for the next person there's our other side of our fuel fill and more storage again the top left or top right corner sorry we have two air chucks in there one of them is going to be to supply air to your tanks in the case of emergency and the other one is going to be to blow out your luggage compartments or to fill up the kids toys coming up front we have our top mounted windshield wipers we have an 8 000 watt cummins owning generator underneath the on a slide gives you great access to your generator we have chrome mirrors they're electric and they're heated if you do get the anniversary package it does come with blind spot detection our cameras are mounted up top so that way they're going to be useful to you the ones mounted down below get loaded up with road grime they get full of road grime they're not much used tubes you can't see out of them now let's jump inside and take a look at this brand new floor plan for 2021. now that we're inside let's take a look at the access to all of our important amenities with it all closed up in travel mode getting to our residential refrigerator the doors open up all the way giving us great access to the refrigerator the half bath the door opens up almost all the way i don't even have to turn sideways to get into the half bath and as you can see pocket doors on the bedroom we have full access to our bed that way the passenger can take a nap while you're driving now let's open up this unit and check out some of the amazing features of this new floor plan so here it is the interior of the brand new 44s take a look around and see how big open and spacious this floor plan is and that's due to the large slide out boxes that we're putting in and we're only allowed to do that because we're utilizing that freedom bridge that freedom bridge and the strength that comes with it is what is what's giving us the ability to put these four large slide out boxes in it and giving us this big open floor plan let's jump up to the cockpit take a look at some of the features up there and we'll work our way back through the unit so up in the cockpit this whole cockpit was designed with comfortability and safety in mind as far as the comfortability goes we have the nice plush captain chairs that are heated and if you get that anniversary edition you get the nice embroidered logos into your head rest we have push button push button start and adjustable foot pedals and on the safety side of it we have dual monitors now this way you can display your navigation and your cameras at the same time which is a great feature we also have our mobile eye which is going to give you collision mitigation lane departure speed zones it even watches for pedestrians also with the anniversary edition in the mirrors you're going to get your blind spot detection working our way back we have heated tile floors and now with the anniversary edition you can pick if you want polished porcelain tile or if you want the matte tile this is a big feature in the 44s to my knowledge it is the largest sofa in any motorhome that's 121 inches this sofa can be used in so many different ways in the inside we have a pull out sleeper sleeper for additional sleeping space both of the end recliners are powered lounges we have the lighted cup holders usb ports put into each cup holder and we also have a nice snack tray or laptop tray that's built into the armrest coming across we have our u-shaped dinette i love the u-shaped dinette because again it's fully functional and customizable to whoever's setting in it we flip the lever down below we have 300 360 degrees of adjustment so if you got a kid in here or in a larger adult this can accompany anybody plus we have storage underneath it as well it does drop down for additional sleeping all right let's talk about the entertainment center there's a lot of great features built into this first of all we have our fireplace that is putting out 5300 btus of heat but there's a lot of storage behind that fireplace and we do have a safe incorporated behind it perfect spot to put all your valuables we have more storage right here and then above it by the black screen we have our sound bar incorporated into the cabinet now let's talk about the television i love in the 44s the way that the television is positioned look at all the seating available in this living area and no matter where you're at you have great view of the television in all of these seats there's not a blind spot anywhere it's a very nice feature and in a lot of floor plans you're going to see different seating positions where you don't have a good view of the tv that's not an issue in the 44s now moving back into the kitchen first look how much countertop space we have available in this kitchen this particular decor is the autograph decor which is exclusive to the 30 or 25th anniversary and that's going to give you the heritage painted hardwood cabinetry in the nice black ice hardware throughout the whole unit we have a pull out island for more additional counter space we use all high-end appliances in the discovery lxc with our whirlpool convection microwave our fisher paykel dishwasher and our whirlpool residential refrigerator that has the ice maker and water dispenser built into it underneath our solid surface covers we have a dual burning induction cooktop and a nice black stainless steel deep farm style sink another thing in the galley you're going to notice we have full length backsplash surrounding the 13 by 60 picture box window that picture box window is a great feature because it lets so much ambient light come in before we move back any further let's take a look at all these storage that's in this living area there's 34 doors and drawers alone just in this living area so we do have a tremendous amount of storage in the 44s coming back into the bathroom then we have a large countertop with a integrated solid surface sink again we have the black ice hardware and a very good amount of storage for a half bath as well we have our multiplex system which is ran by firefly this is a great centralized location to come where we have access to all of our lights our auto genstar our fans and our temperature and much more a lot of the features that can be controlled on that panel can also be controlled on your smart device by downloading the app into the bedroom we have a large king-sized bed that is articulating being an articulating bed it gives you that option when you wake up in the morning to set up have a cup of coffee catch up on the news or just give you a chance to wake up before you get out of bed up top we have a lot of deep storage coming down to the nightstands we have our generator start switch and 110 and usb ports located on both nightstands okay moving over to the dresser side we have two wardrobes that have hanging space and notice the detail in the closets instead of having all that wasted space at the bottom we have nice matching finished out shelving that we put in there and also the closets have louvers in them that's keeping air movement in there so your clothes don't get that musty smell onto the dresser not only do we have eight large dresser drawers right up top we also have our television on a televator which is great you laying in bed and you need the tv it's available to you if you don't need it we can put it down keep it out of sight and you get the nice view out your window coming over to the other wardrobe it's exact replica of the other side we have our hanging space and our nice finished out shelving units built in the bottom moving back into the master bathroom here's something i've not seen in a motorhome we have our own private laundry room with our side by side whirlpool washer and dryer great feature we can wash our clothing and dry it at the same time makes it a lot quicker also we have great hanging space up top for when the clothes get out of the dryer three adjustable shelves with all metal hardware and three pull out drawers this is a great way to keep all of your laundry accessories organized and then when you don't want it to be visible it looks great behind the cabinetry moving over to the shower this is one of the largest showers in the industry and we have our nice black shower head there are 36 jets in that vertical post that covers the body plus we have our large rainfall shower head we also have a teak fold down bench which is a great spot to set down shave your legs or wash your feet if i jump inside this shower i can stretch my arms out almost all the way which is great because i'm a big guy and by big guy i mean five foot eight when i cut we can come into the private water closet which has a ton of storage in it as well those cabinets are very deep and the best thing is you can shut it off and have your own privacy and you can turn this bathroom and more functional because somebody could be using the restroom as well as getting ready out here speaking of getting ready look at how much countertop space we have in the rear of this coach plus the amount of storage we have a his and her sink which each sink has its own medicine cabinet plus a shared one in the middle as well coming down to the cabinets both of them as well have a lot of storage underneath them and four shared drawers in the middle and what i love about this master suite in the back the bathroom and the bedroom it's all on one flat level we moved our step out step up out to the door so that way when you get up in the morning you need to go to the restroom you don't have to worry about stubbing your toe anymore and there it is guys the 44s there's a ton
