Oxygen Not Included - What If Super Dupes Made A Mega Base? Ep1 - Quality Of Life 3

these are three normal duplicates yes look at that boring they are these are three super duplicates yeah baby we're gonna do a full series of this back by popular demand here I'm going to do an entire playthrough using super duplicates and we're gonna build the craziest base I could possibly think of because what else do we got to do while we're waiting for the game to come out this seems like a pretty good plan also based on a poll that you guys threw up here you guys really want things to scale up towards madness don't you so we will get there but not before we have some practical decent builds to start with because we don't want this to just be about trying to make a million new begins survive inside your base and then having to frames-per-second the entire time now I think it'd be more interesting to cover some of these absolutely huge and ridiculous things that we've designed in the oxygen not included experiment series that I've done about a thousand videos of building them in game covering my favorite systems and maybe spinning off as many videos as possible yeah baby now there is one difference when it comes to these duplicates rather than giving them just maximum stats all over the place all I've done is crank up their tributes to over 9,000 everything else though as far as their health biology and interests and whatnot and that's all actually going to be normal so they will still have to learn skills like every other duplicate before them they just teleport around really quick alright so the first system I want to build inside of here is a way to provide oxygen for my duplicates and that's going to be using coal and it's also going to use the algae terrariums as well and kind of an automated setup it's not fully automated but it works really really good as far as producing oxygen at a very very low cost you can see these dupes actually do take a whole while to dig through stuff believe it or not there we go we'll just speed them up just a little bit more because they're not fast enough all right I want to keep the base nice and clean can't be too hard as we can hole around thousands and thousands of kilograms which each duplicate there we go swept up not even a problem for those of you wondering about the seed here these are going to be all the different geysers that I have inside of this base I tried to get as many different ones in there as possible so that I could really explore as many different systems as I can fit into one base right there so that's the number note it down if you ever want to try this map it should be pretty cool my dupes are out of things to do here we go if you dig like this with super dupes go so fast all right let's go ahead and just start them off here with a nice little outhouse that's gonna be beautiful and then in front of that we're gonna put a wash basin just so that we could take care of these germs before they ever become way a problem hey go have a little washroom you know what I want to have two out houses next to each other because if you just have one you run into a problem where you could actually have one backup and then nobody cleans it but when I do have a couple mods installed so that's why the Shane bugs giving off some different light that's kind of cool I think I may even have a time lapse err in here all right we have a latrine complete so that'll be good and give myself a little bit of a boost as far as the morale is concerned we'll just throw down some temporary cots until I excavate everything I need to excavate to get to figure everything else out here so throw in the ladders boom and I go that shacks you go pretty quick with these dupes I always like to dig three wide whenever I build a ladder like this yeah it just really helps the air flow through an area like this plus you can get a ladder you can put a pole there and if you really want to you can end up putting a transit tube through there as well so you can kind of like move around quickly via the vacuum tube here's gonna be my first source of water I always like to kind of do this number where I leave just a little bit of a lip there so just like this that way if we ever have an accident the water will puddle down this way to the right rather than falling into well your water source down there there is a mod for flotation on water I think I might try that hey there it is there's that save one this would be interesting I can no longer pause the game okay what's going on here wow the game no longer pauses ah all right everything's fixed okay every time you want a dig I like to dig that's for tall and with these dupes I mean my gosh look at how fast that goes are you kidding me now this is actually on fast speed right there if you run it on slower speed you start waiting for the animations to finish although they instantly destroy the tile so some things are fast but they look a whole lot faster when you have to do fast speed what's truly fast is when you dig just one tile like this deep and they can just run along the top look at them go yeah ooh hey look at this got a little bit of phosphide up there excellent then that'll be good not a problem we'll go ahead and dig it just like this okay let's try to dig out the rest of this real quick come on guys you can always dig every other tile just like this because you can kind of hop over it then you have to go back into each one one at a time kind of annoying but bubbles are so faster doing that didn't it wasn't too bad look at these dupes go we've already dug out all of this mean we can quick progress here the annoying thing is we're already through all of these storage bins oh my gosh we're gonna have to build more I can't have a dirty base now can I gonna make sure this stuff is nice and clean all right so I managed to dig quite a lot here on the second cycle you can see we've already made some really good progress here in this starting biome fortunately I've run out of storage bins so I had to make more of those you can see they already have one guys are down here that's a natural gas geyser that's your where else can we look around mmm I don't see any others just yet but this is just a really cool starting vial look at this look at this we've got stuff over here on the left the thing I like about this biome which is pretty cool is that we don't have a bunch of slime that we're just flanked by all the time we have it we have about just a lot of this stuff over here all right my own boobs might be in here for a little while so I'm just gonna go ahead and give them a bunker that'll make them feel a little bit better not that they're feeling bad but okay yeah so unfortunately it's the time lapse er mod that I'm having issues with doesn't allow me to pause the game and stuff and the audio actually D sinks it goes somewhere else for whatever reason okay so I've disabled the time lapse or mod we won't have to worry about that anymore but we got to do a little bit of sweeping here hopefully I don't go nice and quick want to keep the base looking real good you know I mean look at the decor it's not looking too good just yet look at this hand it's and minus a hundred and fourteen in some areas all right well I've got way more stuff than I have storage bins so I think I'm gonna need to come up with a better idea of how to deal with my storage and we've got the right piece of technology if we were to research so let's set up some research and take care of our storage problem bubbles bubbles you manage to entomb yourself that's that's really impressive actually all right let's take a look at in the printing pod here hmm I actually like the puff flip more than anything here no no the riza blossom we're gonna want to grow farms here all the farms as far as the research what I want to research is the or dropper so that would be the automatic dispenser that's gonna take a little bit to get to I'd have to research quite a few things ma'am these duplicants research so fast it's just look at it and it just flies by alright so we got the skills board we can actually throw that down that'll be good and getting ourselves some jobs and whatnot okay well they've managed to do all of the basic research you guys got to research the advanced research alright there we go now we have the supercomputer we could just slap that down and really move through this research of course we do need one duplicate with the smarts to become an advanced researcher nobody has any skills just yet so cannot complete that just yet let's at least cover meal preparation and everything else as we need it we're also continuing to build the bunker up here instant research bubbles holy moly you're fast internal-combustion that'll be good for the machine I want to build come here there you go just like that medical care might as well just do all of this honest okay so I've made it to the end of cycle four I've managed to dig out quite a bit more the big news here is how much research we actually plowed through we've got pretty much all the basics done once we actually get it somebody with the skills of the Advanced Research we're going to be able to plow through the rest of the tech and really start to set up some equipment here I want to just dig out kind of go to the point where we get to the part where you need a digger to get a little bit further so as you can see I can't dig beyond this right now because I just don't have anybody with the skills interesting that I have some slime in the starting biome just like this how about that I take a look at the germs yeah oh yeah I could get I could get into some trouble down there Otto Otto what are you doing okay he was just he just had nothing to do here I was thinking he's wondering how in the world he got stuck there nope didn't get stuck at all bubbles oh yeah there you go my gosh there's just a lot of sand huh I'm just gonna reinforce the bottom of this water pool real quick build it nice and fast shouldn't have an issue knew that is sand you know if I had I let that happen that sand were to drop through and we would have had an issue keep digging dupes you got this hmm way too much sand up there gee one right down there that would alright so if we dig three like this if we can go back and we can dig out the floor on the way out and then come in here since we dug down three down here and actually come up and dig the ceiling out you can get a big chunk of space just by doing that so here watch we'll do this these guys need just a little bit of a ladder to get through not a big deal they got all the material and they need and then I can go down to the lower level and just take out the roof bubbles up here there you go good so that's just digging three tall rather than you know digging four tall row after row alright so just a boost mount morale just a little bit more I'm gonna go ahead and give these guys a mess table and a little bit of a room to eat all of their food in so it's right next to where they sleep right next to where they go to the bathroom as well so again that's just gonna boost up morale allow me to take a higher level job once I get the skills to do so just a few pesky tiles to deal with come on just dig that up there you go struck that before you leave oh you left me with a ladder what'd you do that for dupes there you go yeah there we go bubbles bubbles why did you dug this tile out and jumped up there come on now somebody go help bubbles she's having issues I mean she's already entombed herself once I don't you want to save bubbles again okay thank you you may have super abilities but all you do is get into trouble super fast don't you yeah come on hey go just a few more digs beautiful on to then there's that one no one's gonna drive me nuts alright good deal so we got some dupes with skills now bubbles you're going to be the advanced researcher Auto you're going to do some farming stinky your job is to build Oh stinky ID you end up stuck over there but I'm now making a mess I didn't even notice it sorry bud somebody help stinky out managed to get himself stuck on a ladder oops how'd you miss that spot really okay there you go these duplicates I tell you what give them the best skills in the world and they still find a way to get themselves stuck and to leave things unfinished happen there you go there you go bubbles bubbles have you learned your new skill yet yes you are at the Advanced Research put your hat on but mmm insufficient resource water okay Hey gotcha all right so now that we have advanced research we could really get into the equipment and bills and stuff Wow let's unlock what we need here first things first I think we need to sweep this base up matter of fact I think we should sweep it pretty much all into one tile because I don't like using all of these storage bins I mean oh my gosh they just they end up full of stuff and they sit around in your base forever how annoying is that so let's start by deconstructing those and motivating ourselves by making a bigger mess to begin with and then we're going to go in here we're gonna find that or dropper or automatic dispenser that's the name of it right there it is boom bubbles could you look into that for me just look at the picture and tell me what it looks like there you go stinky is gonna be supplying the water man it's a whole team effort right here so it doesn't really take any time at all for these dupes to complete it we do however still need to supply all of the resources for it which happened to be quite a bit of water and stuff I mean that was 750 kilograms of water right there so right now this is just a mess hall let's go ahead and just expand this down a little bit if we throw a door right there and a door right there actually just build the floor out matter of fact if we get rid of that and move it to the bottom we should have enough space to make that into a Great Hall so put a water cooler inside of there maybe add another table for another dupe sometime technically we need more space all right so where to store all of my or hmm well the other thing that I have to deal with is a little bit of polluted oxygen and I'm also going to have to deal with puffs as well because I'd like to ranch those so I think what I'd like to do here is kind of combine multiple different things into a couple different systems here so I would like to be able to reprocess my polluted dirt into dirt in one of my fertilizer maker things that's going to give off a little bit of polluted oxygen and in that environment I would like to puff let the puffed essentially to be able to kind of breed that in and process things some things down and then as that processes it down we can actually store it into a nice storage bin and not have to worry about the gases that it's putting on that's kind of a fun ranch slash refinery system that we could potentially put together as for the rest of this stuff we really just want to drop it in one one singular tile we won't want to do that for all this stuff because some stuff is going to be super hot so here's my plan I have two automatic dispensers up here and about six tiles wide the idea is that I might be able to take this and put Auto sweepers inside of there at one point and then actually sort the material that drops into here out automatically at some point I might make that a little bit taller actually so there we go well technically drop it into two different tiles I think that'll work out and you know what if we wanted to make things even more fancy here's what I'll do because this is all about being fancy huh alright so let's go ahead and do this number and put in a plumbing device here we put a little bit of a bottle empty er there and we'll put a little bit of water down there well put this on to liquid not polluted water just water enable auto bottling for just a little bit and throw in some manual air locks right there one bottle should be more than enough we don't have to worry about it maybe we do that was only like 50 kilograms it's throwing another one there we go there we go now we have a great haul boom check that out morale +6 that is ridiculously alright so absolutely everything could be swept up into here and I don't want this please don't go through that door you're just gonna keep you can go out but you can't go in this might also serve as the stress room for stressed-out duplicants but as we can see all my duplicates are now picking up this oar and they're just gonna run it to the same spot and we're gonna stack all this material in one spot very nice okay so here's I have the two automatic dispensers I've set it to sweep only and I've selected everything here so once I say move to breeze into here then they're going to pick it up if you just if you know if you don't pick sweep only then they will actually just drop it in here then run back down here pick it up and drop it right back in there over and over again and then if you don't allow access through the doors well then they never actually can get to the stuff that they drop inside of there Wow these dupes max out the automatic dispenser just about every time look at that that means they're moving 20,000 kilograms are you kidding me oh that ought to do the trick yeah we're just gonna go ahead and say sweep I'll just sweep everything the whole map there you go dupes have fun so in case you're wondering why I have water down here that's for polluted dirt and slime because those end up giving off polluted oxygen and some of that can contain germs which you don't really want to have floating around your base but if you put it under water then they just don't actually give off that that debuff right there so you can see how that was giving off polluted oxygen and once we dipped it in some water it's not doing that anyway one of the things that put the ration box down here in carbon dioxide that is a sterile environment so that this stuff actually does not decay over time okay so for my oxygen system I'm going to go find the coal generator the water sieve and the algae terrariums down here this is one of my favorite ways to produce oxygen inside of this game because it's a you know the relationship just works really really good between all the different pieces of equipment here oops oops you amenge to trap yourself there you go ever way up it's always good to use doors instead of walls sometimes just helps the dupes get to where they need to go there you go okay so what I'm building down here is a place for me to store food since this is going to constantly give off carbon dioxide these things are going to consume carbon dioxide everything that goes down below that you know whatever slips past that that will become carbon dioxide boom it'll be really good we're going to do with polluted water over here because you have to empty these terrariums every once in a while and we can recycle that water using the sieve up here and then just redraw it onto the terrariums and it doesn't really consume a whole lot of water if you look at this what you can see is the water input is 300 grams and then the output of polluted water is 290 so we're only consuming 10 grams a second if we recycle that material you can see just how much water we're going through here as we just run through the research this is some survey of idea just how quickly research consumes water I've never actually seen it go down quite this fast I mean this is a byproduct of having super dupes in your base we're just absolutely blowing through a lot of research incredibly fast but I would say it's a little eye-opening as far as just how fast they can as far as how much water it really does use hmm the game doesn't seem to realize I have dirt and stuff come on maybe this door is not really helping us out here okay so what I want to empty here is going to be polluted water bubbles why'd you have to run in there right at that time now you're gonna make a mess timmikins all right mop it up geez Wow just look at all that water it's just it's just disappearing we're researching so fast and research takes so much water holy moly we take a look at the light you notice that we're going to have a little bit of light to the left and right of this printing pod so that's a pretty good place to grow just a couple of Bristol blossoms just some easy food you know all right so I need some refined metals at this point to build what I want so I'm gonna use a little bit of a rock granulator over here that way I can build up a smart battery so that this coal generator just doesn't constantly run sooo what we want to do is make a bunch of iron ore put down 50 how about that man look at how fast stinky goes just BAM one mega punch after another these super differences are ridiculous you know BAM boom what is it in slow speed it's oh hang on that's not slow speed bubbles auto comes up punches the thing my gosh these Dukes are so efficient look at that they load it punch it and sweep it all at the exact same time alright let's throw down the big smart battery right there beautiful and we might as well just upgrade the wires right off the bat no point waiting around for it alright I'm going to slap down just this guy right there a liquid tank and I want to do is have a liquid valve right here that way I can control just how much water is flowing out of it and then a liquid vent right there so since I have six Aldi terrariums or what I want to do is throttle this down so that I don't end up putting more water onto these trims and what they so that would be 18,000 grams per second is what I'm gonna want to set that to and hang on before before I'm even done with this let's go ahead and just plan out the rest of that I really want to have it's a couple of liquid bridges no I just want to have one just so then I'm gonna flow through that bridge into here but if it if I have more than that then I'll do something with it I don't know what yet but there's gonna be some other place to process that what could potentially be clean water but have germs in it okay I'm gonna set this low for starters you can see we now have some water down there but you can see that it's getting absorbed by the terrariums down there that's the idea and then the dupes come in and empty it out and then they should just take this and slap it over there Otto dude you're stuck on a wall alright we'll put in to make a nice airlock right there now that we have those slapping a couple of refrigerators down here to store our food and what we should see down here is that it's carbon dioxide and that's you and if need be we can expand this to contain even more food if we really wanted to don't think I want to add now is a little bit of automation between this manual generator and the battery sorry not the manual generator at the coal generator of the battery so that we can automate that set this to be 25 I always like to do is 25 and 90 or something like that good job dupes maybe you want to hang out somewhere else that isn't this good thing to have down here is a deodorizer because you're going to get a little bit of polluted oxygen in the area slap down a couple of those it's always a good way to go I always feel like you just can't have too many and then it's always a good idea to have airflow tiles because we're above the aquarium down here that way the oxygen can flow out into your base wow look at this just trying to go through the rest of the research here goodbye water we're only getting a little bit of water you can't flow in fast enough Wow how about that superdude problems there we go yeah that'll last about one cycle and I won't even let them last like 10 seconds apparently maybe that animal control got to set up some ranches okay so we got some more skills man look at the morale there it's already pretty good alright we need somebody that can dig stinky Thank You bubbles you're going to need to crank up your research ability Auto once you get into this you're probably on credit range got happy kids beautiful okay well we might as well mop the rest of that up since we've used up all of that water already who the arcade cabinet and the duplicate checkpoint maybe maybe this time we'll find a reason to use the duplicate checkpoint I don't know so good see you here i way of carbon dioxide perfect feel like i want to bake that one tile deeper just just to be a little extra safe there you go stinky dig away i guess that gives us enough iron to complete all of our refining so that's good now the next thing i want to set up here hmm i know i want to set up a heat flusher at one point but i'm not sure i want to set it up just yet but now that we have some granite this would be a good time to set up kind of private quarters for it do we set up this kind of power generator slam oxygen system down here it also gives us a place to refine our polluted water so that we don't have to worry about that if we have an accident but now I do need a place to generate more and more coal and I have a lot of hatches around so I think it's probably time to set up a hatch ranch which would probably be pretty close to this guy because well it kind of makes sense to have a nearby this place over here looks like a perfect opportunity for a nice little hatch ranch it's not far away from the cold generator all right so that is how big my hatch Ranch is going to be because that's the maximum size that you can build for a ranch coat some scaffolding you can call it a ladder if you want I call it scaffolding at this point there you go free yourself alright so inside of here I'm just going to have a nice little grooming station boom and then for food I'm going to have a critter feeder we use a pneumatic door because do critters should not be able to get through that and we're gonna just sweep everything up here there we go okay I'm gonna feed these hatches sedimentary rock and sandstone down here that way I should end up with either stone hatches or just more hatches either of those is what I want and last but not least a critter drop-off so once I wrangle up some hatches I can throw them in there I'm gonna get the ones that are already on the platform's here I don't really need like a ton of hatches so I'll deal with the ones I have and not with the others so we'll capture this guy and that one then that one than that one as long as I have somebody with the ability here there you go Otto you want take care of that for me BAM there you go and we're just going to move hatches there or stone which I don't have a stone hatch so I'm just gonna set the maximum inside here to four I think that's probably more than enough I only have the one coal generator I'm worried about so it's not like a big deal but what I will want nearby is going to be a hatchery that way I can kind of incubate the necessary critters and then move them around as need be you know I don't like that spot it's not a good spot but I want to do want to be able to fit all the different critters I want to keep in one spot her nice deconstructed oh that was awesome no no you're not gonna escape this time dreck oh yeah ride alright incubators dupes you left one single ladder right there for real we're gonna do that to me come on okay pullet egg larva egg anybody else I want to keep just at least keep one in there so it's not a big deal then over here I could just keep a storage container and I'll just throw bugs in there not a big deal so then we could just kind of close in this room like this I suppose we might want to do something on that side and then using a critter drop-off I could do that right here but I'm just gonna use I'm gonna take the little babies out of here and just leave them in this room so in this case if I wanted to have the puff lit I could say a the public will come out and somebody will bring it out and also do the hatchling as well and then once they become grown enough we can actually throw them up here because that's the next drop-off point cuz I could just say Auto wrangles surplus and that will take care of them this is all based on the learnings I did from a small series which was all about the different ranches in one night you could check that out in the area up here they're a little card for it what do we have in this pod Liam yes we definitely want to bring in the Liam Oh unfortunately I stopped recording so I didn't you didn't see this it's kind of funny this hatch like kept getting stuck in this one tile oh well uh what I ended up doing inside of this room here since this stable is like 96 tiles yeah I wanted to make up some of it and wanted to use some of the space inside of here so I put the rock granulator in the textile loom inside of here and then just move this wall one tile over that way I'm just not wasting a bunch of space the next thing I want to set up here is kind of upgrade the duplicants living quarters down here we got blue to dirt and whatnot so let's go ahead and just give them some cots and a bathroom and then kind of prepare for the heat flusher system that I'll be building here boom there we have it one washroom so we've got a lavatory a sink and a shower it's gonna be a private one for each duplicate so it's gonna take a little bit to build all of them alright so I'm just gonna keep building this out put these doors right there there we go as far as a bedroom is concerned we need a comfy bed which I don't really have right now no industrial machine pretty simple minimum height for tiles yeah have that alright should be all set all of this I don't need it alright there we go just completing the rest of the bedrooms right here so just throw these cots in just like that and then these things as well so the molding beautiful yeah this little puffs gonna have a hard time getting out of there now there you go go up go up buddy nope wrong way alright so that does it for the bedrooms for now next thing I need to do is create a liquid loop here for this so I can plumb in the clean water and get rid of the waste water as well but this looks like a decent little pattern I should be able to repeat that a couple of times maybe leave a couple of gap here so that you know you can run through it and whatnot right now these are just barracks though alright there we go now this one's saying sterile environment actually you know what it's it's flipping back and forth I don't really trust this just yet there's too much there's too many gases in one spot it's not deep enough yet that's all right I'll just use this ration box down there for now well see if that idea works out if not now I move on not the end of the world okay I think now is as good a time as any to build the heat flusher and I think I'll build it right down here this seems to be a good spot unless I could build it over here that might even be a better spot hold up let's try this it's kind of out of the way yeah there you go good job mark way to take care of that one time well everybody else gets the rest all right we'll build this up with some insulated tiles there we go now if I dug up any gold amalgam yet probably not surprising that's actually kind of ways away for me take a look at the metals here and we just look for a metal there we go that's iron what we got here gold amalgam there we go more gold amalgam or gold amalgam not a lot though gosh ooh but there's a cold biome over here alright alright see if I have any skills from my bill to rank somebody up just you Merc you're the only one you're gonna have to be our cook by the way I don't trust in super dupes to cook anyhow they end up doing is making a bunch of mush bars and we got a little bit of hydrogen right here that's perfect we could take that pump that into this room where I'm going to have the heatsink awesome me welcome to the base we are all saved now now that we have me pair unfortunately now we can't go and just leave me Paul normal like that nope he's got skills of ninety thousand and I give him sunny disposition because that's fun and because he's got such amazing skills boom his hair changed welcome to the base super me look at him go are you kidding me what are those skills like construction oh boy I'm trying to count them all two million two hundred and fifty thousand percent and within one millisecond of jumping into the base you found yourself inside of a wall way to be super meep there now we're not bumped up against that thing Merc I almost feel bad for you dude you're just like I'm glad you're doing a good job though glad you're doing a good job every time you go to do something you by the time you get there somebody else has ever done it for you but that's alright just keep trucking along Merc what happened to the puff I thought for sure I saw a gets stuck in them what I didn't mean to deconstruct that sorry mate hey I think somebody learned a new skill who has a new skill super meat does of course he does what do you want to be me you could be anything in the world I think you're going to be medicine compounding basically you're caring sneaky get your heart add on you get some digging to do no I guess we don't care about artists apparently nobody's done that one yet for Merc just trying to get back ah it's such a long way to run awesome finally got some gold amalgam now that'll be nice whoo-hoo looks like there's quite a bit of it up there actually and here's something farting off in the distance what could that be there's a guys are up there somewhere mmm there we go make sure we dig up all that gold amalgam excellent and then we can move all of these de breeze and sweep them right into our infinite storage compactor down here and since we have water we can store slime there with no problem at all hey awesome they can get to it from here I didn't even think of that that's working out really good although I think it could work out a little bit better all right let's go ahead and just dig this stuff out real quick now that I can kind of store all of it it's not a big deal and I don't want the germs hanging around especially if I'm gonna try putting I'm gonna put a little bit of food down there since I dug into the biome over there I was able to unlock some mushrooms and that's really what I want to start to grow down here so that's gonna be these the fungal spores also sweep up the rest of this stuff it really is nice being able to sweep just everything into like one spot right there I mean that look at this decor it's actually not bad see I mean it's not terrible right pretty much the decor is just zero except for this one spot look at that mine is 600 in something 614 all right so my refrigerator experiment has still kind of yielded some weird results I got polluted oxygen oxygen and carbon dioxide down here on the bottom it really is not not really working as well as I'd hoped it to was going to so right now this is where I'm storing my food just right down here in all of this carbon dioxide man look at all these weeds warts one two three four five six seven of them at one single cold biome and I found what was making that noise I don't know what it is but mmm there's something there looking forward to what seeing what that is if I could keep your attention for just a moment here I need to pay my food texts over the last few months humble has been an absolutely great partner they've always had really good right so now let's go ahead and build that heat flusher again this is based on another video I did in the past you can check it out up over here but I'll be covering it right now so what I want to do over here is set up an area where I'm going to have a couple of pieces of equipment that transfer energy essentially heat from one spot to another so that's going to be using equipment like the thermal regulator or the Aqua tuner so we can we can cool down gas and we can cool down liquid and then pump it into a room where we're actually just going to soak that heat up and get rid of it alright so right up here is a good spot for this I'm just gonna go ahead and replace that normal tile with an insulated tile and then the equipment I'm going to put up there well I'm just going to need to go ahead and use gold amalgam you want to make sure you use gold amalgam because it's height higher temperature and then I'll put a thermal regulator just a couple of these couple of thermal aqua tuners again making sure that you use gold amalgam now I'm not necessarily going to use all of these I just want to make sure that are in place so that if I do go to use them yeah or hook them up in the future that they're ready to go you know what I think this would be better if I placed it right down here that way I have a two tile gap on the bottom I could have a two tile gap on top that'll just allow me to plug in the pipes later so let me just go ahead and deconstruct that and move it down I'm just gonna close that off and we'll deconstruct the roof up there just like this now the key to this is going to be the water sip over here so this has an inlet and an outlet side and if you flow polluted water in it will come out as clean water but it's going to come out at 40 degrees Celsius that's both good and bad good because we're going to be able to use that to our advantage over here to basically always reset the temperature so if this is over over here over here is is very hot then we'll get rid of that heat it's kind of bad though because the water that flows out back in bathrooms or whatnot is already going to be hot a fair bit hotter than probably it would be at this point in the game so this can become a major source of heat it could also become a major source of cooling depending on how you use it in your base and it's probably worth having radiant pipes if you can afford it so for that we're going to run the rock granulator a little bit here and we'll just use iron because you there's a good chance you have a large iron ore deposit around so I'll just set that to something like 50 or whatever and there we go and then I'll use that iron over here just to create a little bit of a loop and this is going to be for polluted water so polluted water will flow in from the bathrooms and it'll be around 40 degrees and then as it flows out of here it'll be that temperature plus whatever heat we've put into this box and then we run it through the water sieve and that resets it to 40 degrees Celsius but flowing out of that we want to make sure that we are using insulated pipes otherwise that heat is going to soak into our base and warm things up so for the insulated pipe you probably want to use either igneous rock or sedimentary rock because they have low thermal conductivity so they're they're good for insulated pipes early on once you get ceramic you may want to go through and actually replace this with ceramic you'll also unlock mafic rock once you get up towards space so you can use that as well but any time we're out of here essentially it's going to be an insulated pipe so to flow this stuff back up from here you're just gonna have to have a decent plan these things have their own storage capacities inside of them so you really don't have to worry about running one over the next pipe or whatever this this arrangement here works just fine there was a time in the past where you had to worry about that you don't have to worry about that anymore so this is the return line here so the idea is that this will be filled to the point where it backs up so all of this will be nice clean water here and then we're only going to have so much polluted water so what we want to do is create an overflow for that extra amount of water and since we don't want the rest of that heat to go into our base doing it right before you get into the exchanger over here is a good spot to do it so I'm just gonna flip this over here like that and then if this is backed up then my second option will be to come out right there and at that point you're probably gonna want to send that water somewhere else to get turned into clean water and then used up in something like a farm or whatnot so I'm just going to take this and run it down to wherever it will go which we have chlorine down here so this will be a good spot to remove the germs from water I'll cover that now yeah you know the future okay so I want to pump some hydrogen from up here right down into here so that I get some nice gas in there the exchange between the radiant pipes and the Aqua tuners down there so I'm just gonna put a gas pump up right there and then pipe that back over this is kind of a temporary thing you don't need it doesn't need to be here for very long I'll just put a normal little gas vent in there and what I want to do is close this off but kind of open it up from the bottom because what I want to get is just pure hydrogen up there so to do that I'll pump in hydrogen that'll force out all the other gas inside of there so I'll just throw some doors on the side of this real quick it'll create kind of a temporary somewhat airlock now not a real big airlock would good enough for now okay so I find myself outgrowing my power system already which I guess makes sense considering how fast for researching and going through stuff so I'm gonna replace a basic wire here with the heavy watt or shall we say the conductive wire and I'm going to get rid of this and I'm pretty much just going to put the power transformer and start to use that in such a way that I can power up this equipment over here you can see that this stuff requires a lot more current right so 1200 watts which is quite a bit more probably we're not going to get to run it in this episode but well at least see what what it'll look like you can just paint over these wires and it works just fine so there we go all right so what I want to do is automate this power transformer just a little bit here I'm just going to give that a little bit of a not gate so it runs opposite of the generator and that's going to allow this to turn on and off and at that point I can move a simple little thousand watts from there to a different power grid over here to power up this stuff which runs kind of temporarily or intermittent it doesn't run all the time runs you know when it needs to so I'll put a smart battery over here and then just use a power transformer on the way in just like that to kind of separate the two this will be its own room as well because we're going to use some heavier wires in here just because you can see just how much power we have for all of that stuff okay I'm not a big fan of using the heavy want joint here it's kind of a bit of an experiment we'll see what happens but I'm gonna throw it down this time and actually use have you want wire for this this spot here the other thought is to put the battery inside of here and I don't know listen we'll see how this goes the reason you want this stuff hidden is because it has horrible decor once this gets built you'll see man look at that horrible horrible horrible okay let's just throw in power to this to put it in a switch there so I can kind of automate the rest of this for whatever reason I wasn't able to there we go and this power wire will find its way back over there like that I keep having to come over here and add more and more to this rock granulator I have a way of automating this so that we end up with a certain amount of material and then the dupes would actually just replenish it as need be so maybe that'll be a future video as well I'll probably end up setting up food though next time because right now I'm surviving because I have a lot of food available but I'm thinking the future and that'll be something I can cover we can attack this poor critter it's never gonna get out of there so no need for him to be just stuck in that one spot we'll turn them into food there we go hello okay so you can see that right there boom filled up that smart battery real nice so what I can do here is automate that as well that becomes active if it goes below 50 percent becomes standby if it goes above 90 something like that I don't know if I'd have ever really automated this side of it but that's what I'm gonna do let's see Howard so there we go we have some extra power in our battery here that's actually currently supplying power to the rest of the base and it can also dump it out over here to this pump since this is already full there's nothing to be run over there so it's just running this gas pump right there and we are pumping this hydrogen into the room over here for this our heat exchanger alright so we're going to want to dig this way and we're going to want to plumb this line or somebody say priming that's probably a good word let's prime it so we're going to do the same thing we did just with the water now again this is kind of temporary stuff so you don't need to you know you're just gonna build it and deconstruct it so there we go get ourselves nope come on Bubba's dead go there we go now this would be cool we'll actually be able to use the shower the sink the lavatory this water will flow in or probably get all confused but whatever it'll find its way to where it needs to go oh you punk kind of hoping it would have just been smart enough to figure it out come on we're gonna make everything complicated there we go put a couple extra pipes in there one more anybody yeah we're just waiting for murk here can't man see it's able to figure this for the route out I mean it isn't running super fast but he doesn't need to run fast that's the thing all right I have some more skills want to give them farming is always a good one to have always good got one sick dupe here super meep has slime lung we'll take care of them down there you will copy this setting right there copy those ha ha so once we get more dust caps we'll just throw them in there murk I know I don't think we I don't think I showed it in the video but murk is the one Dugan that just has normal stats as compared to everybody else I had a small recording error when I was making this so unfortunately that was not captured hmm-hmm alright well break apart this pipe that'll make for a small mess there but you'll be alright meep don't worry about it connected this back up so look you just mop that a little bit of water never hurt anybody good deal and see now it's flowing just fine and I said to upgrade those pipes so should be good to go okay so I've managed to pull this to a vacuum up there so I pretty much have about as much hydrogen in here as I'm going to have right now and you can see that we do have a little bit of gas down there on the bottom but for the most part it's just hydrogen in fact we use the gas overlay yeah you can see it's it's pretty good okay so one of the things I want to do before I close this off has add some temperature shift plates in there and that's going to increase the mass in this area so when this thing is really running hard for a long time it doesn't get too hot and start damaging itself you can't run these things you know maximum loads unfortunately because they will eventually have problems so it's probably a good idea just to go ahead and throw a couple of temperature sensors up inside of here and I put one in between these and one in between those just kind of make sure that nothing gets too hot and ends up damaging itself but the other thing is to also add these temperature shift plates here so another spot I like to use iron or or iron shall I say I like to use iron what we got another me no I can't accept all the meap's can't I maybe Liam as well ate a couple of good dupes here I'll take the leap seat no thank you add some nice decor to the rest of this map yeah let's throw some plants in here it's always a good indicator if things are a little bit too hot it's gonna be a while before I can replace the bed so why not add some plants to these Dukes bedrooms okay so I'm done with this I'm just gonna go back and deconstruct all of it I'll leave the pump here just in case I want to do something with that it is a big body of relatively cool liquid I could use that around my base for a little while if I ever need to kind of deal with some of the heat let's go ahead and give everybody a little mirth leaf plants here name there you go those are good between twenty and fifty degrees Celsius so if it gets too hot for that you know it's a little bit too toasty inside here there we go look at that fancy decor yeah decor is actually pretty good inside of there I like it all right so here we go cycle 38 we're gonna see all these dupes wake up and actually use the shower that's really helped them out as far as morale and everything look at that morale whoa currently at 13 hey wake up they take a little shower all this liquid starts flowing around mmm-hmm and then because they when they use the laboratories and everything that actually increases the amount of water that's in this loop so all of this flows over here that's where the heat exchange happens and then right back in never get too much flows out right there looks like we have enough for two temperature shift plates that'll be good I will go ahead and throw in some granite just for good measure in between that it's not break through thermally conductive but it does have at least a nice capacity to Italy so if we take a look at the gas here hydrogen pretty much everywhere I think there's one tile of oxygen right there not bad though that was all built very quickly by my amazing super dupes so we'll just camp it off and they were pretty much done boom so we can go ahead and leave these open now so that they don't slow down my dupes actually that goes for all doors by the way leave these two open just kind of makes travel a little bit faster not a lot but a little bit and as we see here the room is still going to remain the room even though the doors open so the other thing here is bubbles I'm going to assign you to that bathroom murk that's your bathroom Auto you're going to have that one stinky you definitely need this one I'll do yourself set the direction up for left still only clean their hands on the way out so super meet ends up up here and there we have it good deal so the dupes now have a preferred poo place it's always good to have a preferred poo place okay so here's a cool thing using a mod that was actually introduced on the steam workshop and it builds on on other mods as well I can export the daily reports down here in order to generate basically these giant data dumps from the reports over here and then I use this and I can put this data into graphs so we can analyze how my base is performing by looking at oxygen and whatnot so for example here over the last 36 or whatever cycles right there and over the last 37 you can see how the oxygen I didn't generate any of it and then I started generating more and more oxygen into the base we can also see how much we're removing there and then the yellow is basically the net so you can see that we were over producing oxygen well I wouldn't say over producing we were producing an excess of oxygen over there and then it dropped down for a little while and things got a little lean and then we started to produce a little bit more so there's still oxygen in the base and we're not sucking down too much we're not too far off of having a stable amount but what you notice is this jump right here and what I did which I probably did off-camera is I turned on my oxygen diffuser now because I noticed that the oxygen was starting to get a little bit low inside of here and that's why we see a big jump from here to there stress is an interesting one so you can see how much stress we're subjecting our dupes to and you can see that the stress is increasing throughout the cycle however our stress minus negative is actually increasing as well as the morale and everything is going up and the dupes have more and more luxuries so our net is very negative at the moment so the dupes are just very happy chores gives us some sort of idea of if I'm over scheduling my dupes or not and we can see right here that the amount of things I told them to do when I was digging a lot you can see that how that was up very very high and since these super dupes are very very fast at digging you can see how quickly they were able to knock out all of those tasks that I gave them so we're talking four hundred and or 600 at certain times right there even one cycle right there was 824 but they've completed 735 of those now there was this guy right there so this reflects in duplicate time over here which is kind of an interesting one so we have work time which is right here we also have travel time idle and then personal time so as we take a look at the work time the work time is increasing a little bit but I'd dip down there in the middle for for whatever reason I should say I think because I was doing a lot of building and I was also running the rock granulator quite a bit not the work time increased as much as it did the travel time you can see that how this is progressively getting larger and larger as the base grows in size so as this keeps getting bigger and bigger the dupes have to run farther and farther I don't have a way of breaking this down to the individual dupe but it would be interesting to see how this would compare with like normal duplicants compared to I super duplicates to see just how much of a difference travel speed makes so there's another idea for another video personal time in idle time well you can see idle time has actually increased a few times as I've run out of things to give them to do and then personal time has kind of been fairly steady throughout the base I mean it's gone up
