Wanted: Dead or Alive | Jesse Duplantis

i want to preach something a little unusual this morning um that the lord kind of gave me i was uh just reading uh the scriptures and you know a lot of time i just read or uh and i might read a uh a commentary on what somebody said about something or whatever so if you've got your bibles i want you to turn with me to the book of genesis the book of the beginnings chapter fifty be the last chapter in the book of jennings in genesis and it's called the book of beginnings and it's such a blessing and the time of this message is wanted dead or alive wanted dead or alive and it's not what you're thinking but it's really amazing um i saw this in the verse the other day i find that god always puts unique people on the earth to touch people i've said this so many times that he weren't saying it again that the only jesus some people may ever see is the jesus and you are the jesus and me i'm very conscious of my image and i'm not talking about how i look or how old i am or whatever the image that i am producing because the bible said we're made in the image of christ that's why i will not allow myself to hurt people and without sounding terrible i have the power to do so in certain areas and i refuse to do it because jesus came to help people not hurt them even when he found people in major major trouble they found a woman in adultery they were going to stone her and jesus said he that hath no sin let him cast the first stone now where was the guy that committed the adulterer he probably had a rock in his hand he wanted to kill us so his wife don't find out [Music] wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't a pharisee and they slowly began to walk away if anybody could accuse this woman jesus could have because he was a perfect life and he said woman where are your accusers see when people see the truth the truth stripped you bare and she said i don't have any he said neither do i condemn you wish the church would understand that neither do i condemn you but he did reprimand her he said go and sin no more in other words i'm the god of a second chance but let me just put a little phrase to it don't push it you know what i'm saying because god's got great mercy and great grace but what i'm saying he says don't push it in other words i'm gonna set you free we're gonna start over and uh so go sin no more because now your life and your decisions and your choices in your hands there was a wonderful man that god put upon the earth named joseph he was a favorite child you got to watch that if you're a favorite child especially if you got brothers and sisters that don't think you're too favorite but it's like in every family how many of you had a favorite uncle and yet you had other uncles and uncles and uncle don't misunderstand me but it just seemed like sometime that might be one that was just i don't know just just something unique about that person how many you had a favorite aunt how many of you had some nasty aunts nasty uncles you know what i'm trying to say but it just seems like favoritism follows some people there's a reason for it it's because of their heart yet favoritism sometimes shows up and sometimes we don't know how to handle it especially with an older brother or an older sister they think you might get too much attention or whatever and uh and and that may be true because no one should you shouldn't have a favorite child but let's just face it sometimes we do i can never say that because i only have one and she is my favorite child and i only have one granddaughter she is my favorite granddaughter i told kathy this i think it was yesterday before i said me and kathy are like dogs i mean if you want an image of a dog you look at me and kathy because when meredith comes over we can spend a whole weekend with her okay have one other time how is it her mama picks her up drives her house her mother's house is only a half a mile from my house that's it i might be stretching it and meredith forgot to bring she forgot to take her clothes home so jody turns around and comes back to pick up the clothes when meredith comes into pic it's it's like we hadn't seen in 50 years don't that sound like a dog i mean a dog maybe just look at you've been there all day you walk out for two minutes the dog me and kathy are dogs it starts that way joseph was the favorite child of jacob because he had a favorite wife that's another thing you shouldn't do shout ladies i just set you free which means this nobody should ever say if you got a divorce where's your first wife you know the pretty one don't say that because that means that this wife might have she's thinking i ain't pray no no there's just there's some things you don't say but god had a purpose and a plan for joseph his brothers threw him in a pit and i'm giving you a preamble to this message he was sold to egypt at 17 years old he lived 110 years he was in egypt 83 years of those years he became prime minister but it came to a point in life where he would die if jesus tarries we're going to come to a point in life that we're going to die and it's not a bad thing because you can have what i call a good death and i want to talk about wanted dead or alive and if you've got your bible genesis chapter 50 verse 24 and joseph said unto his brethren and i'm reading of the king james verses i die and god will surely visit you underline that in your scripture god will surely visit you and bring you out of this land unto the land which he swear to abraham to isaac and to jacob now when i read that i put myself abraham isaac jacob joseph jesus jesse because you see i got a promised land you have a promised land now joseph said i i want it dead or i want it alive in other words i'm going to have this promised land and joseph took an oath now he's serious he made him swear before elohim jehovah jireh took an oath of the children of israel saying god will surely visit you notice he had to say it twice and you shall carry up my bones from hence in other words i am not destined to stay here dead or alive now most people would have stayed there because when you're the prime minister you got all the money you're controlling everybody why would you go anywhere else and there are a lot of people like that today that have everything but they're not in their promised land so joseph died being 110 years old and they embalmed him and he was put in a coffin in egypt notice he wasn't put in a grave because he made an oath made those people swear now go with me to exodus chapter 13. exodus means exodus means when the nation of israel leaves exodus chapter 13 verse 19 and moses took the bones of joseph with him why for he had straightly sworn the children of israel saying god will surely visit you and you shall carry up my bones away hence with you ladies and gentlemen by the time exodus 13 and 19 took place from genesis 50 26 was 360 years his coffin or mummy whatever you want to call it in the egyptian days was on view for 360 years as a sign to israel i don't care how long it's gonna taste it's gonna take but you've got another place that you're going to wanted dead or alive so write this down if you take your notes you must have faith in your magnificent future he had such faith talking about joseph in the magnificent future of the nation of israel that he refused to be buried do what you have to do but keep me as a signpost because there's coming a day when you will walk out of this into your promised land as a free nation free free from what free from bondage free why do you think i preach debt-free you're you're looking at the word debt i'm looking at the word free you see what i'm saying i want you free because you see there's someone that can lord over you and you can buy a home and mortgage it for 30 years and be living in that house for 29 years and eight months and your husband or you get sick and you cannot pay the last four months of notes they will take that house away from you even though you've paid for it three times free that's why i keep telling the people here at covenant church and all my partners all over the world that are watching we want you free i want you free from sickness that's why we don't give up that's why when somebody is dying we say buy his stripes you are healed you either get free here or you get free there but you're going to get free but i prefer it to be here now why did it take 360 years for them to finally take his bones out watch this and they could have been in a promised land 360 years later in 11 days they were free and god took them around the long way instead of the short way why because they didn't have a faith to fight a battle they just had faith enough to be free and yet the bible says fight the good fight of faith lay hold on to eternal life so you must have faith in your magnificent future now write this down little thinkers will never understand big thinkers little thinkers will never understand big thinkers most little thinkers would have said we ain't going nowhere it's been a century and we still see that mummy let's put it in the grave but joseph was a big thinker to the point that he swore made him swear an oath you break this oath you break your covenant with god you cease to be covenanted people that's why i want all the promises of god that's why god didn't say some he said all you know how many are there over 7 000 of them why don't you go pick one today and get it over 7 000 promises but the church has never preached promises they preached compromise they added c-o-m to the word promise which is compromise three letters changed the whole thing i'm gonna have everything i ever wanted needed or desire i'll get it dead i'll get it alive but i'm gonna get it well this is gonna be a good service little thinkers will never understand big thinkers a big thinker says i don't care if i'm on view for 360 years i'm going to my promised land write this down you must have a consistent course and show the world its possibilities can the world see your possibilities or do they see your impossibilities you haven't noticed something about brother j i never talk about trouble why why what good would it do you know what you go you know what you say why is it you would agree with it you don't want to agree with trouble because when you agree with trouble you get trouble you go like don't that sound churchy that's why i refuse to fear not because i'm trying to be a big shot fear tolerated faith contaminated i'm not going to have any in my life i have too much possibility i believe god for impossible things those impossibilities i get it by possibilities it doesn't make any difference i refused oh y'all gonna shout on this one i refuse to let my mother who is in heaven since 1982 my father was gone three years ago i refused to let their seeds stagnate in the ground how many times your grandmother great grandmother loved the lord gave to the church and never got a harvest you're gonna let it stay in the ground so i decided to harvest not only my seeds but my mama seeds my daddy's seeds my uncle raymond's seeds [Applause] i got it so if you don't like being rich you can get out of here cause you're gonna get rich somebody shout over that i know that sounded hard you are gonna get rich and you're not gonna get cocky with your riches you're just gonna get the harvest that your grandparents sowed that they believed god had never reached it and don't let the devil keep it faith insists on possessing possessions my mother always wanted a big house and lived in a small trailer i got her house we don't need all that square footage but i believe mama comes down and says this part belongs to me you must have a consistent course and show the world its possibilities that's why that mummy was out there for 360 years you do not put me in this ground this is not my promise write this down you'll never be wrong depending on divine promises you'll never be wrong depending on divine promises notice it the promises are divine the reason why people don't get the promises of god they don't think of him as divine yeah i know he said that but that's your problem need to get your butt out of the way people are butt conscious i ain't never seen that says the most amazing thing i've seen in my life but but but good lord it's ridiculous you will never be wrong depending on divine promises when i didn't have a dime i told people i'm gonna get thirty sixteen hundred folks they laughed at me ain't laughing no more [Applause] see that sound cocky no i want it dead or alive i'm not going to let the family that loved the lord in my family sold season never received the harvest because they wasn't taught to receive a harvest they would talk they were taught this give and don't expect anything in return you ever heard that statement i bet you didn't hear that in the business world did you hear it in the business world why would you hear it at the church world we preached this church preached a satanic doctrine and now they think prosperity is that you know why the devil's against prosperity because when you get blessed it's coming out of his account wealth of the sinner laid up for the just you see you will never be wrong depending on divine promises and he made them people swear an oath this kid called joseph let's write this down keep reminders around you so you won't forget where your promised land is i kept reminders around me because you see i told my mother in phi at five years old i'd build a plantation home and i was in an eight-foot wide 32-foot trailer there was no way we could get a plan it was impossible but you know what i fell in love with plantation homes so when me and cathy didn't have nothing we drive by the plantation home and i'd say one day one day and i thought the biggest house i could ever see was oak alley you can put oak alley inside my house i don't mean that pridefully because you see when you depend on the divine promise and you keep signposts around you're going to do more than you thought you would ever do alive or dead because there are have been dead for thousands of years that are still influencing us i'm gonna deal with that in just a minute you see what i'm saying so keep reminders around you so you won't forget where your promised land is so many times people have forgotten well we're just gonna just well we did the best we could god never asked anybody to do the best they could all god i've asked you to do is believe why don't you believe let him do the best he can you see what i'm saying the best he can not the best we can because the best weekend doesn't work the best we can can't get it done but the best he can can get it all done see life and you got no sense about life and death what is it it's a pilgrimage remember this ladies and gentlemen you are travelers not squatters you're traveling abraham's so joined in the traveling you're traveling the planet earth is not your home heaven is your home you see what i'm saying life and death is a pilgrimage that's all it is we're travelers not squatters i find a lot of people become church squatters well bless god that's all we want all we need is it my lord from that point on you begin to decay because you have forgotten your promised land and i figured years ago i wanted to pray for a man he needed healing he said i decided to go to the doctor to let him take care of us he's a squatter nothing wrong with going to the doctors i believe in going to doctors the doctor can't hear you all of them are practicing they don't know it's a shot in the dark because sometimes it works and sometimes it don't let's just be honest right but if he had made up his mind to squat instead of keep traveling um i refuse to squat in life i'm ever increasing see people call it they call that cockiness and arrogance and greediness no it's i don't have a squatter mentality you are today clinton clint stand up glenn glenn said hey glenn's 73 years old lord jesus got pink socks on get down with your bad self glitter hallelujah glory that guy you shake his hand he'll break your hand see he don't know he's 73. he didn't squat he's still working out he's still doing all those kind of stuff he's still got his wife working that's good [Laughter] why why because see life and death is a pilgrimage you're traveling through to what to your promised land because you see when you arrive at your promised land all the promises are done now you know how to live see so life and death is nothing but a pilgrimage remember your travel is not squatters see so if i became a multi-billionaire that's not going to stop me from making more money now that i but they're going to take that statement right there they're going to edit me out they say you see that's all he wants no you squat you know you squat on your money it don't grow but you keep your money moving it's going to get to the place where it can really produce a 30 60 and 100 fold return do you know that a lot of people don't give money to god's church today that's squatted and ain't gonna produce nothing that's sad when god said i want you blessed where in the city where else going in coming out good god man he got you covered doesn't it now you see when people say well yeah i know that's what he said see that's deterioration talking write this down deterioration starts when we become settled with less deterioration starts when you become settled with less watch this this is totally contrary to the way the world thinks i have enough well you're selfish greedy thing since you got the ability to make more why don't you make more just give it away since you got enough that's okay to have enough i i'm not but see when you're settling you're not allowing your talents to flourish you become a one talent person that's put it in the dirt but the master's coming but that guy had five talents when the when the master showed him he said i got five more now the guy had two times you know he only had one talent more than the guy with one just one more there wasn't that much difference between the two talent guy and the one tyler guy in the scripture but the difference was was his work ethic that's right i'll never forget that telling totally she said budget i don't need no more money i just looked at i thought i shook my head i said selfish you got the ability to make money why don't you just give it away since you got enough i said let me help you if you got more you wouldn't give it away because your money is your security i hadn't seen her since the reason why i'm blessed and my quote coffers are full because i keep giving it away and it keeps coming back my god i don't want to deteriorate it starts when we become settled with less you see what i'm saying now people say that's an american doctrine no that's a biblical doctrine for god so loved the world he gave knows what he did he gave what did he give christ why so he can get christians and he expects the whole world to be christian what is life's business you know what it is making memories write that down life's business is making memories because let's face it jesus said you go by the way the grave the only thing you want to take with you is your memories you're not going to take your watch you're not going to take your car or your favorite suit if that's what you like or if you like jewelry what i don't know whatever you like you know you're not going to take it or some of you your crawfish boiling pot because the cajun people here we've got to have the pot man we're going to bring that to heaven with no no it's staying here that beautiful home that i live in this day in here i ain't taking anything with it what i'm going to do is to take the memory of it life's business is about making memories you see what i'm saying and when you understand that because at the end of it that's all you got so you know what i do with my daughter and what i do with my uh granddaughter i make memories i do it with my friends we make memories remember when you know i said we're going to be talking like that all the time in heaven y'all remember when we did this that's the only thing's getting into heaven is your memories why why not your house because it ain't good enough he's not gonna have a trailer park nothing wrong with trailers i'm not against them i was raised up in them that's not the issue but i'm telling you in my father's house are many many what what see people want to kind of interpret it as dwelling places no a mansion people notice mansions people that don't own mansions loves to walk around mansions you know why it creates a dream it creates a dream that's why you have to go on that's why you like going to very expensive restaurants you haven't those expensive pressures don't give you a lot of food but the golden corral you can kill yourself eating have you ever noticed that if you ever notice that cheap rested but get you fat as a hog expensive restaurants you're gonna pay an arm and a leg and you get small small portions and you're supposed to eat it small bites every time we go to hawaii we do a lot of preaching and i pray kathy likes to go to a restaurant called roy's i have stopped it three years in a row because i went to roy's and paid a fortune for both of us to eat and i didn't get enough to fill up my filling i said is there any left in the kitchen would you like dessert i'm not exaggerating this wide this long 29 dollars but it had a pretty leaf on it we were at roy's nothing wrong with roy's nice place don't misunderstand me ain't going back and it wasn't the money don't insult my intelligence joseph was in a coffin but he wasn't in a grave why because even dead his influence persisted write that down jesus tarries you look at me when i say this jesus tears and i go by the way the grave my influence will persist you will not forget me i'm not trying to be the big shot it's just what i'm saying is promised land because soon as i get to heaven if if jesus turned i'm gonna say lord a bunch of people i said they would make the promised land his influence persisted and it was never allowed to die george washington been dead a long time you know when he died almost made it to 1800 1799 but his influence still persists well yeah but he was the first president yeah well what about all them other presidents you don't even remember you know why you don't remember them they settled for less but charles washington wouldn't settle for less anybody remember rutherford hayes what'd he do what was nixon's vice president just think about jail for a second you'll understand spiro agnew what'd he do settled for less what did thomas jefferson do he doubled the size of this nation all of them had flaws because god works with people with flaws that's not the issue but he works with people who will not think he will not he don't want people thinking small why do you remember martin luther king jr why don't you remember martha luther king senior i'm saying the man better i don't know nothing about martin luther king jr's father does any person know anything about him not that he's a bad man none of my bad that's not the issue but what did junior do he wouldn't settle for less he said if i want to sit in the back of a bus it's going to be my choice but if i want to sit in the front of the bus it's going to be my choice and if i want to eat in that restaurant it's going to be my choice and if i don't want to eat that right it's not going to be my choice wanted dead alive do you see my point influence is still persisting why those are people who will not settle for less i don't want to say that that sounds political law the lord said say it president barack obama you better do something because your legacy won't be nothing and you should be the greatest ever because you're the first black president of this united states it should be the greatest ever because it broke a barrier that was unbreakable according to the world it's okay to be nice but sometimes don't settle for less let me say it again his influence persisted talking about joseph and was never allowed to die his interest was what the promised land and so should yours be i tell that to my granddaughter all every time she comes over there's nothing you can't do meredith you listen to your grandfather okay listen to me ain't gonna be easy in life life's tough but there's nothing you can't do nothing putting in that enough yeah i'm creating memories kathy she calls kathy mimi i want merida if jesus tells me go by the way of the grave and meredith is 85 years old which is hard to figure i wanted to say you should have known my mimi oh if you don't know mommy me she wanted to please me so much she made pancakes with the wrong stuff [Applause] you should know my mimi she would swim with me all the time she let me put on her fur coats so i could act like a movie star and that happened last week then she walked up to me and i was sitting down and meredith had on cather's fur coach he goes hello darling that's what she told me see in her little minds he's a movie star she said this thing must cost a hundred thousand dollars i said close but memories influence if you want to be remembered not asking you to become a great man what i'm asking you to become is a great thinker a big thinker because that's where it's at one black man one time looked at a peanut and did so many things with a peanut what was his name all you remember white people said it why thinking wanted dead alive i asked for joseph said i ain't you don't bury me here because when jesus comes back joseph is coming out of that promised land where he's buried at right now that's what i love about the lord he don't lose nothing including your body so if you know somebody that died of cancer or diabetes or whatever terrible death god's going to raise that same body and the devil will freak out you're going to say did we kill that guy in 1962 then we killed that woman in 2012 she had i'm back think about that see god's gonna resurrect spirit soul everybody i'm telling he ain't leaving nothing in the ground why because your body is going to the promised land now it's gonna have to be changed to work in that environment but it's going yes indeed buddy whether you're dead or alive see i'm not i don't want people misunderstanding this i'm not trying to get people to remember me but i want them to remember what i said because what i said was divine promises and i haven't changed since the day i started preaching this gospel because what i said was the truth and then i also helped people that may have caused they may have forgot some of their promises so i happened to be there to help them and vice versa you see what i'm saying and every hour because we're one body made up many members the other day a doctor and his wife are here so funny uh uh y'all do this so people know the man with the white hand his wife they just like us she don't cook kathy don't cook how do i know that because they're in restaurants all the time just like us we see each other all the time you know well the other day was that cheesecake factory they already had been seated and they took it's the seating thing way in the back back there so we sat down they didn't see us at first and so i i said who is their waitress the lady said i said give me their bill so they saw someone just like this we all went like that now that was about it anyway they finished eating they already had just about finished by time we sat down anyway um the way the lady did it was um she said i'll just transfer their bill to your bill i said good but then she she didn't watch this is my waitress but see she didn't understand the other waitress well we got to bless the other waitress because if the whole ticket comes to me heards of mine the tip's gonna go to my waitress but see i hadn't forgot because tips are their promised land that's how they make a living so but she did it that way and she wrote on the bill there bill god bless you i think it went so doctor's can't go on god bless you i mean because when's the last time a restaurant gave you a meal you would say god bless you praise god it's an automatic good lord but they were figuring the lady that was waiting on that i think they were is a pastor's wife or she's a pastor herself so they thought well that she must have done that okay now i did see you take some money out of your pocket and stick it in the other thing i saw that but that doesn't stop me from being a blessing so i knew the other girl got a tip but that's not the issue that ain't got anything to do with me that doesn't stop my responsibility or my quote possibility so they left what he had did that they forgot to bring back he was going to pay with his card they gave him they gave the card you know sometimes you give it to the uh waitress and they got it and left well we were sitting eating all sunday this waitress comes she says do you know those two people i said yes well they left their credit card a visa i think it was something like that uh do you i said yeah they come to church i said you wants to take it well we decided if it's okay with you and i can understand it they said we'll give it to our manager and he'll put it in the safe or something like that okay okay well kathy said well we got to let them know so did christine get the number somebody got number got your number and called them said you we left you you left your credit card okay we'll come back and pick it up now you see sometimes people mean well but they don't they mean well but it's not well when they mean well because the person didn't put it in the safe to put it in the pocket so he comes to get his card and they make make their own stores nobody can find it in the safe but finally i think somebody might have done that and they realized they'd put it in their pocket my point was this so when the girl i come i said listen up i said i want to give you a tip oh no the the other people were so i said i said no that doesn't stop my responsibility so i tipped her and then i tipped the girl that took care of us both of them together why because i wanted to now my tips have brought a great influence at the cheesecake factory at pf changs at mr bees and any russians i go to because i don't care if you stand in the line for two hours and i don't mean this privately jesse and kathy walk in they go this way people go who is these people i want to go tippers tippers i mean the the managers will come get us are you bragging no i want a table dead or alive i thought i was off the message didn't you dead our life it didn't make any difference i want the promised land it's mine i have a right to it that's why faith and your faith insist on possessing possessions that's why you have what you have your faith will push you to get what you want and you thought it was greed know what your faith said come on use me and i'll do this it don't care if it's spiritual physical or financial because that's what it does but in its actual influence of it it pleases god you know what pleases god the faith part what pleases you is the manifestation part see how different we are yeah and god is pleased when you get the manifestation let's understand it but he's much more pleased when you believe it than when you just receive it that's the he says impossible please god let you use faith faith is believing decreeing declaring you're working on this thing now you get excited when it manifests yeah glory to god and that's good but he said he gets way more excited with you believing because he knows that's what's influenced that's what's going to influence people not your manifestation it's how you believed you see and it's going to create interest in in the word of god and in what people are believing for so remember joseph was put in the coffin but not in a grave because he was a signpost now i'm pretty sure people thought don't look like we ever gonna leave egypt 360 years later but see when you take an oath and there's not a position in the united states government that you don't take an oath you know what you don't realize a lot of people don't know when that when the uh president picks his cabinet you know you know do you know he makes them all sign letters of resignation before them start their work and if they have to exercise it it's already exercised thank you for your resignation didn't know that did you that's right because there's somebody say i won't resign you already resigned when you took the job that way you ain't gonna be struggling with that kind of stuff see the president got enough sense to know how to do good business so if president obama wants loretta lynch's resignation now they can be nice and let her give it but it's a done deal in printed phone he just accepts it then he doesn't accept it while it's in the safe until he's ready to accept it see nixon didn't sign a letter of resignation that's why it took so long for him to get out the presidency but spirit agnew was on real quick that's the difference you see what i'm saying no it may never be used but in the event you don't follow the vision then we will accept that resignation that's already wrote you see what i'm saying joseph told that and made him swear now i think if they wouldn't have done that what would happen i don't know but our oath would have been broken i knew a covenant people would have stopped being a covenant and they'd have never reached their promised land how many are you going to reach your promised land dead or alive it doesn't make any difference now you want to reach it alive they'll misunderstand me and that's a blessing but if that doesn't happen you're still going to get there which means this your faith is working even when you're dead you know why because faith doesn't have to be proven it just has to be believed think about that for a minute my grandfather died in 1960 i was 11 years old i was born july 9 1949 just a few days ago was my birthday i made 67 years and uh 67 years old and in 1960 i never forget this my mother said this you know when i was a little girl i used to think man i can't wait till it's 1960. you know everybody has different ways this is my mom now i don't know exactly how old my mom was because she lied like a dog about her age all her life took it to the grave we're not quite sure we're within a year or two but we're not right quite sure sometimes i wondered mr emma i her child because that woman could flat keep a secret god but i remember saying this at my grandfather's funeral i always wanted it to be 1960 when i was a kid but i never thought this would happen in 1960 and that's when her father my grandfather went home to be with the lord and that's something but do you know because he constantly spoke to me and some things he told me were wrong it still has influenced me all those years you think about that for a minute well you know i got born again labor day weekend 1974 at about i don't know nine o'clock eight thirty quarter then the court about quarter the nine something like that when i met jesus as lord i've had all this relationship and fellowship with god all these years he's influenced me so much that what the devil's done before that time was not very i don't even remember it hardly why because he was never was a good influence and you know he died satan and never reached this promised land but his promised land is coming he don't even want to live in it and god's going to throw him in it he's destined for hell he's just out on bail he's got to show up buddy there is no
