yeah now this games a lot easier than the previous games monkey ball 1 & 2 so yeah this is gonna be like bat mode many of you know I'm a huge Monkey Ball fan so I'll take anything I can get even if it is a weird monkey ball game with boss battles and a jump button oh yeah you're gonna get dizzy if you watch this you sick yet chat people are saying in chat that they're gonna throw up I feel like the world rotation wasn't this bad in monkey ball 2 that's because monkey ball 2 was actually good well yeah monkey ball 2 is one of the best games on the Gamecube and now the worst part boss battles Vinny please tell me this wasn't $50 I don't know screen wave got me a key they're like you want this game I said yes I'm going to play it anyway I don't know how much this game costs maybe my memory is faulty but I recall enjoying banana blitz on the Wii when the we first launched here's the chain of events okay I'm listening to Edward Norton being interviewed by Marc Maron today on you know podcast and Edward Norton's talking about Bob Dylan and how much he loves Bob Dylan so I'm going to my peal box I haven't gone there in like two weeks and I remember Alan Kramer saying that vinius sent you the meat puppet so I'm like great I'll go and check and see if that's available and it's um it's to Bob Dylan shirts and a cool jacket from their company just as I was pausing the podcasts where they talk about Bob Dylan and I was like man I shouldn't watch this documentary that Scorsese did about Bob Dylan penny how come you don't have a Staten Islander accent it shows up every now and then but I guess I spent time working on it a little bit but yeah you'll hear it every now and then and it's it's fine Vinny you still pronounce too-hoo wrong is that a New York thing now that's a spite thing Benny are you looking forward to to who in smash oh yeah I love love me some too whoo-hoo yeah before anyone actually sits there and constructs this theory that I hate to who I barely know what it is I just like to make fun of it a little bit because the name is funny [ __ ] you someone said in chat I'm not gonna have this game looks boring as [ __ ] make no mistake the early levels are way more boring the game does eventually pick up a bit I don't know why they chose to remake this game of all Monkey Ball but you know what like I said I have my theories which I do think that this game probably sold very well and someone who's like extremely tone deaf right Sega was like oh this is the best one because it sold well well ever you've got to be [ __ ] kidding me what's going on here what's going on here Sega Sega what is going on with your [ __ ] shitty camera sometimes you just wish you could like have a conversation with John Sega and be like can you implement three small changes to your game I bet Sega is gonna really regret sending me a key for this I should let you know I'm not going for every banana so if you have a little bit of OCD about me collecting bananas as there were a couple people who were upset go buy some bananas scatter them around your house and then go look for them oh and then take the banana and shove it up your ass of course I mean that was definitely you know I had to it I couldn't leave that part out it's like they're the perfect fruit to go you know open zip open I'm sure there's a trick to this level remember my leg speedrun tactics in Super Monkey Ball to where I could bypass half the level or more than half the level and it would usually end in failure for like 45 minutes there's some of that in this game they removed a lot of those really that's a lot of the fun of Monkey Ball is learning how to break a love it could they please get people to do Monkey Ball they actually know how to like what makes the series great sorry I'm a grated because I'm on one hand it's like oh it's a new release but on the other hand it's like why this [ __ ] you know it was a real shock for me as someone who is a like a fan of the series finding out how many Monkey Ball games actually exists I thought it was just like 4 games 5 games and then I find out this is like 10 what was I hoping to accomplish okay I googled monkeyball you know just to go to the Wikipedia to see what games there are in the series and the first thing I see is Super Monkey Ball banana blitz HD review all monkey no magic some of those games I didn't even know existed until like just now oh [ __ ] someone to judge I said why can't every single game just be good shaking my head god I'm trying to unpack that statement and it makes my brain hurt I don't know if you're agreeing with me or you're you're trying to say like it's acceptable to make bad games it's not easy to make good games but I think it would be kind of easy to make a good monkey ball game if they just like listen to fans and reclaim the magic of the first two games wouldn't be hard if well I mean it would be difficult but that's why you get a good team together and give them money if you want to expand the series there's ways to do it that don't involve turning it into garbage don't do that don't touch that what is that what is that the did I win or did cool cool but cool I'm passionate about the series a little bit I want it to be good you know so I get a little heated it comes from a place of of caring about these damn monkeys you know what I mean this this is not a fun fight all this sucks dick Vinny now you know how Kingdom Hearts fans feel are you saying Kingdom Hearts 3 was bad because that'll get you that'll get you like some some bad internet points you don't want to say that I don't know if to see I don't know if it's a comparable thing but the fanaticism like I'm not God how do I explain this the way no no it's a different type of fandom let's put it that way I think you know what I'm saying most of you it's not this I don't think it's the same I don't think I'm as passionate about Monkey Ball as a lot of Kingdom Hearts fans are about Kingdom Hearts I think that's kind of more what good fight let us accumulate the evidence of whether or not super monkey ball needs boss battles [Music] don't ask I posted a video on my Twitter about Ringo ah [ __ ] Ringo Starr has never had pizza yeah he's allergic to a lot of stuff so he's never had pizza so he did a comer in that video there's a commercial he did for like Domino's or Pizza Hut so he advertised and then I think late 80s or 90s for how good this pizza was but never actually had it [ __ ] which I mean says a lot about advertisement that's like all the commercials that Arnold did in Japan you think he even knew what the [ __ ] he was saying even when he was speaking in English sometimes there's a fat check just for showing up for a half hour or a couple hours work that's that's a tough thing to turn down especially if you're gonna get paid like a couple million or you know however much Jesus what's that do you want me to advertise to who to whom that's right it's to whom is actually what it's called boy the jumping mechanic is really adding a lot to this game saved by the jump I take it back I love the jump button aah oh my god oh my god oh my god just just give me a life meter and be done with it it's [ __ ] yes I got a focus no no no need one stray bullet so there was a little monkey fella rolling around in a ball on top of a ship dodging bullets Carl what the [ __ ] do you mean monkeys on ships it was just like a pirate I do have a little little vitriol right now I'd feel bad if this was someone's first monkey ball game it's [ __ ] bullets man they're not really even Bo they're like torpedoes oh I stuck one stray bullet I've never played Donkey Kong Country 3 and I don't think I want to and I know there are fans of the series who do request that I play that game I would never say never maybe one day I'll check it out but I at the moment have no interest in that title is that said [Music] this this is ludicrous so yeah Saiga if you're watching take more menacing than this this is very whimsical it's decent I don't I don't dislike it Vinny this was apparently the song Vinny they're not paying you for this you can quit any time I want to recapture the magic trying so hard Chet I want there to be magic oh right yeah this this music was awesome [Music] now add monkey noises oh this is the type of stuff I like a monkey ball weird contraptions weird like jabroni devices like this or fun [Music] not every monkey can make that jump I don't think I think Mimi is especially suited for a jump like that with her extra jump prowess but not every monkey can do that jump I don't think Gan Gan in particular we're just [ __ ] yeah I remember this level I remember this level taking a long [ __ ] time so I'm gonna take it real slow so that I don't have to do this again fun fact I streamed this game maybe like eight years ago of seven seven eight years ago so before full sauce I don't remember disliking it them [Music] this is my journey to becoming the Hulk I probably don't have the time needed to complete this now and that double jump is tough surprisingly so hit the jump again as soon as you yes as soon as you you get there and then you still have to wait for the ball to bounce is this spooky scary skeleton song sped up 300% spooky scary skeletons send shivers down your spine [ __ ] definitely feels like a game that was designed more banana blitz yay this is where now half the channel tells me that they're getting sick maybe this isn't a good game for me to be playing while I feel sick stampy I feel sick I heard they made some of these later levels like real [ __ ] in an attempt to balance the game also you're witnessing right here while the why The Monkey Ball series needs camera control I should be able to straighten that out [Music] Wow it's a torture device for the modern age precision platformer with no precision camera yeah again marble it up is a good alternative mini we didn't come to see you suffer yeah I mean but part of the Monkey Ball thing is is suffering on some up [ __ ] it's it's like too sensitive something something's really [ __ ] weird even compared to monkey ball - something just feels weird about the controls in this [Music] vini this is torture this hurts my soul I I know I know Vinny I dare you to stay up playing this for hours so you can watch the direct while absolutely delirious from the lack of sleep imagine I do that let's just say for a second I do that and then there's no fifth character reveal and it's just Sakurai talking about his favorite SNK characters and playing final fight and King of Fighters and then it's like 20 minutes of tarry and then he just says did you like it and then that's it you do it every once what if it's him and Kojima doing a death stranding thing together imagine what Sony must have been like when Kojima finally revealed with their concept what his concept for the game was do you fight in this game not really so what do you do you just walk around that sounds great today oh so how long is it about 60 hours and most of its just you walking around yep oh boy and how much money do you need to realize your vision and and how do we market this just put the word Hideo Kojima on the box [Music] vini on a scale from one to ten how frustrated with you are you with this game I'm probably getting an eight right now it could get more frustrating this is it this is an eight this is only the second level I played today and it's already this Vinny I think your camera sensitivity may need to be changed that's a funny joke because there's an option that says camera sensitivity and it does nothing [Music] you like CBT torture Billy you like movies about gladiators yeah this has definitely been edited why are we doing this Sega why are we doing this oh I have to wait for the queal I didn't even notice the wheel at first for some reason I just ignored it but you see how long it takes like look look look it takes [ __ ] forever for this thing to come back why not have it in monkey ball two there were switches and if you hit the switch then the thing would start the level would start why not have it so that there's a switch instead of having to make me wait if any Nintendo confirms no new fighter tomorrow well like another confirmation this is this must this is like I think the second one I hate this [ __ ] jump mechanic I started this game so hopeful I was like maybe it'll reclaim some of the the joy I had for monkey ball and even banana blitz it wasn't that bad right well it's not it's not that bad but it's it's still pretty crusty [Music] I don't know why I did that I was like I'll just gift [Music] what I just felt like alucard getting his weapons taken away from him if only I didn't have to jump and I could just do this maybe I could rotate the camera it's gonna know [Music] the controls are so jittery it's so jittery that was a cool a moment again where the a button did not jump [ __ ] you Sega seriously [ __ ] you Sega [Music] I've lost my patience and now I'm going to try to cheese the level it's a far cheese it's it's it's a big cheese [Music] [Music] yeah I just is the frustration scale still it an eight I'm out of nine I I mean I'm doing this to myself now so this isn't you know if it was the game's fault it would be a ten and it is the game's fault because this level is annoying but it's also my attempt at cheese is my own damn fault but the control the analog stick is so goddamn sensitive I feel like you have to like press it left or right in the smallest increments if you want to stay on ledges it really is astounding how little you should move the thing I've press the jump button at the right time it didn't jump are their controller settings yeah they don't do anything there's settings for camera and it doesn't change anything I don't get why the monkey doesn't jump one in like 10 times or 20 times or so the monkey just does not jump it's it's really really cool [Music] I hope John Sega is watching [Music] [Music] [Music] I kind of want to know what this level looked like in the Wii version with the motion controls because I don't remember this level I don't remember having this much trouble in this game period [Music] there now hang on a minute this may seem silly but I think there's a method to the cheese Shemp and ball torture yeah yeah [Music] this is only world six there's more worlds they made the level much harder people are posting videos of the original level which I very much would like to see and I will after I'm done with the level never so I'm gonna happen never it's gonna happen in the next five tries guaranteed [Music] maybe even now [Music] this is the one well III not this one next one I lost my timing why is that so the thing down a little bit so it's on a slight slant it would be it would actually be easier if I was using a gamecube controller they have that little notch in it like I said so I can go 100% perfectly forward see if it will go forward you can use the GameCube controller I do have an adapter but I don't know if you can use it with this game maybe you can it will this is the one you know I know it's the one I'm gonna take it nice and slow I'm just so defeated where we poppin frustration level reaching 10 if only I could change the camera so I could see see where I'm goin [Music] okay if I was an inch forward I would have never been able to make the jump skunk [Music] 3:40 I give this five more minutes and then I'm gonna stop and do the art that was close yes [ __ ] about some [Music] I don't know why I'm still doing this I'm just gonna try to do this one level and then and then that's it I feel I feel nothing no great sense of elation or relief or accomplishment and then I will show you the original level compared to what we just witnessed which I know I was trying to cheese it which made it harder than it was can I get a link to that now cobalt caverns from the original Wii version of Monkey Ball banana blitz okay so so far the same are you [ __ ] kidding me oh my god it went from no challenge at all to Omega Christ [ __ ] you Sega
