Verses to Use to Win Souls

hello again i'm robert breaker and every week i bring a new sermon to you in english and spanish and this week is a sermon that was actually requested of me a lot of people were asking me brother breaker would you do a video on how to win people to jesus christ how to win souls and i thought well yeah that's that's a great idea that's a great suggestion and that's something that i really desire people to do as a christian i want other people to be christians i want to tell them how to become saved so let's go to three different passages here today and we're starting these three verses and then we're going to look at some things that i've printed up and i've put on my website in hopes that you too can get active as a christian if you are saved in going out and winning souls let's go to proverbs 11 30 first timothy 2 4 and james 1 21. those three passages will begin with proverbs 11 30. and the bible says in proverbs chapter 11 verse 30 the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life and he that when his souls is wise so god wants us when we get saved to go out and tell others how to be saved and to win souls and he that when his souls is wise look at that word wise there is some wisdom involved in winning souls you need to be wise when it comes to winning people to jesus christ and are you wise i mean in order to be wise wisdom carries with it the connotation of knowing something do you know enough as a christian to win another person to jesus christ that's a good question let's go over to first timothy chapter 2 and verse 4. first timothy chapter 2 and verse 4 says this who will have all men to be saved who's that god our savior verse 3 who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth do you realize there's something you need to know in order to be saved the reason people are lost is because people don't know how to be saved so it falls upon us who are true christians to go into all the world and preach the gospel and tell people look this is what you need to know in order to get saved and go to heaven when you die now go to james chapter 1 verse 21 james 1 21 wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness and receive with meekness the engrafted word that's the bible which is able to save your soul so the bible says that it is the bible that is able to save your soul because the bible gives us the knowledge of how to be saved and so that's the thing we need to do we need to learn how to get out there and win souls well first before you can win someone to the lord you have to know how to be saved are you saved do you know you're saved do you know 100 without any shadow of a doubt that you're on your way to heaven if not then you need to get that right you need to figure it out you need to know you're saved and then you need to know verses in the bible that you can use to try to win others to jesus christ i went to a garage sale the other day and i found this it's a king james bible it's actually a schofield bible in the very beginning of the bible what most people do here it is one two three four a lot of churches today i want to be nice how do i say this nicely a lot of churches today are shallow soul winners okay they're very shallow in their presentation of the gospel they have whittled down the gospel to one two three four pray after me a lot of them even less this one has four verses but a lot of churches today say hey let's go win souls here's three verses now just tell the person repeat after me so it's one two three repeat after me i have never done that i've never uh done the one two three pray after me kind of thing because i see that as kind of shallow you know there's a lot of people in the world today they don't even know who jesus christ is they don't know that he's god a lot of people have never looked at the bible don't know what the bible says know nothing about anything and so to me it's a lot better to take someone through more verses and to show someone more than just four verses so when i win someone to the lord i try to find someone who wants to hear and then i try to give them as many verses as i can on how to be saved and you know people get saved on different verses i've talked to many people who've gotten saved and they've told me well i got saved on this verse another person was this verse over here where i finally understood and believed and got saved so the more verses you give the more chance a person has because sometimes we don't understand the understanding of the sinner where he is and so he might need to hear this verse over here but then we're going to give him this other verse over here what we need to do is we need to pray and say god give me as many verses as i can to memorize and then bring those verses back to my mind do you realize there's no set way to win souls is what i'm trying to say but today a lot of churches they do what they call the romans road and they make it into like some sort of business presentation well you can only win souls going one two three with these verses and then number four i don't see winning souls as just three or four verses and i don't see you have to do it the way they say i see it as here are a lot of verses in the bible on how to be saved memorize them get them in your head know them and then when you deal with people let the lord bring back to your mind those verses and then show them what i did years and years and years ago when i got saved was i put together this little thing here and i put it in bibles when i get a bible to give away i try to keep at least a case or two at a time of bibles and i try to give it to people and ask them to read it well a lot of times you give someone a bible they don't know where to begin so many many many years ago i made up these things and i put these in every single bible that i give away three pages okay i'm gonna show you in a second what these pages are but i take these three pages and i cut them out see this and i put them in the bibles that i give away and that way if i don't have time to show someone the verses on how to get saved i say look i want to give you this bible now go with me to the beginning here and i put one in the very beginning and i say read that and that's all about what the bible is then i say now here in the back of the bible i've put this and this is verses on how to be saved versus on and there's a lot of them because i figure the more they read the more it will sink in and then over here on the back eternal security when you get saved read these verses on eternal security so i try to give people as much as i can when it comes to these verses now what i have done so that you can do the same thing is i've gone on my website thecloudchurch.org if you go to my website this is what you'll see the cloudchurch.org and on my website scroll down until you see which bible and then right here it says bible inserts and pdf form and you can literally click on that and get these three pieces of paper in pdf and you can print them yourself and when you print them then you can get some scissors and well these are pink scissors but these are my daughter scissors i said bring me some scissors before i started and you can cut them out and then you can put them in your bible as well and that's what i hope you do and that's what my desire is is that you will do that so that you will have that as a reference in your bible and this will be the piece of paper that we will be using today i made this many years ago after i got saved this is going to be kind of like a little handy reference guide for trying to win somebody to the lord so i would like you to do that a lot of people have said brother breaker i really do want to win souls what do i do how do i do that well the first thing to do would be to print those up and hopefully you have a printer and if you have a computer and a printer then you can go to the website you can print those up and then put them in your bible and that's what i want you to do so that's what we're going to do today we're just simply going to go through this paper that i made up when i was saved i think about well less than a year after i got saved i just put all these together and i made this cool little border and everything and i put this in my bible and then i began to show it to people they said i want that too so i print it up and give it a lot of people have these in their bible that i've known in my life because i handed them out to people and they told me over the years this has really helped me brother with these verses so the first thing you need to do when you win somebody to the lord is you need to tell them the gospel and one of the things that i do is if it looks like i don't have a lot of time with someone i'll take them to the gospel and the gospel is first corinthians 15 1 through 4. and if it looks like the person's in a hurry or i'm not going to have another time with someone this is the first passage i take them to and it's first corinthians 15 1 through 4 because it's all tightly knit and put together in the package and it's all right there you know what i don't understand why these people that do the one two three repeat after me type of thing why they never go to first corinthians 15 1-4 because right there is the gospel and they they run around go and preach the gospel every creature well then why aren't you preaching this passage that says this is the gospel you know i don't understand that but first corinthians 15 1-4 says moreover brother and i declare unto you the gospel which i preached unto you which also you've received and wherein you stand verse two by which also you are saved okay so we're saved through this gospel if you keep in memory what i preached to you unless you believed in vain now salvation as we're going to see here is by believing well believing in vain means you haven't believed you haven't believed in it or maybe you believed it with your head but you haven't believed from the heart because salvation is a heart issue it's with all of your heart turning to jesus christ and receiving him as your savior so what is the gospel well it's verse three and four for i delivered unto you first of all that which i also received how that christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and i make a big deal out of that term how because how did he die he shed his blood and without the shedding of blood there's no remission of sins it's all about that blood and i try to show people about the blood of jesus christ because i think that's important matter of fact that should be the object of our faith the blood of jesus as we'll see here in a minute but the gospel is how that christ died for our sins according to the scriptures that he was buried that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures so it's all about how he died for our sins so in order to get someone saved you have to deal with some things and they have to understand again it's a knowledge involved and one thing people need to understand is that they are indeed sinners okay again i'm going to go through these verses right here so i encourage you to go to the website look that up bible inserts in pdf and print this up and you can go along with me so let's go through some verses in the bible about sin romans chapter 3. now in order to be saved you have to realize you're a sinner because jesus christ came into the world to save what sinners so if a person will not admit they're a sinner then they're not going to get saved jesus is there to save sinners and he died for their sins if they say well i've never sinned and i've heard people say that and that well that's a lie right there so that's a sin but i've heard people say well i never sinned or i don't believe in sin or i'm not a sinner well then i guess they're not going to get saved because you have to admit you're a sinner and understand oh oh it's because of my sin that i can't enter into heaven romans chapter 3 and verse 10 says as it is written there is none righteous no not one these are all verses to use to win souls to jesus christ verse 23 as well for all have sinned and come short of the glory of god if a person tells you well i'm not a sinner i have a sin the bible says well you just said the exact opposite of what the bible says because all means you you are a sinner all of sin comes short of the glory of god now go to john chapter 7 and verse 7 the world cannot hate you but me it hades because i testify of it that the works thereof are evil so the works of the world are evil you've got to be careful of that now go to romans chapter 5 romans chapter 5. romans chapter 5 and verse 12. so the world is evil and all have sinned so i would ask a sinner um are you a sinner have you sinned well usually they say yeah yeah and it can't be denied you know you have sinned everyone has sinned romans 5 12 says wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned and then romans 6 23 for the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life through jesus christ our lord why do we die because of sin so get a person to see this who's lost and ask them do you understand that do you understand you're a sinner then if they say yes say well okay i have some good news for you there's been a sacrifice made for you on your behalf that paid for your sins and that sacrifice is the sacrifice of jesus christ now let's look at some verses on that first timothy 1 15. first timothy 1 15. in first timothy 1 15 says this is a faithful saying and worthy of all exception that christ jesus came into the world to save sinners and paul says of whom i am chief because before he was saved he did some bad bad bad things killed people but he says jesus christ came into the world to save sinners so guess what if you admit you're a sinner then i have good news for you someone died for your sins and that someone is jesus christ and he came to save you from your sins and from the payment of your sins which is eternity in the place called hell that's where people pay for their sins romans 5 6 says for when we were yet without strength in due time christ died for the ungodly and then look at romans 5 8 but god commended his love toward us and that while we were yet sinners christ died for us now let's go to first peter 2 24. so i'm giving you as many verses as i can on people or sinners show you show a sinner that he's a sinner and if he confesses he the center don't show any more verses on that move on to this because people need to realize i'm a sinner and i have a need and my need is salvation well you admit you're a sinner okay let's deal with salvation this is what the bible says about salvation first peter 2 24 says this first peter 2 24 says speaking of jesus christ who his own self bear our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sin should live unto righteousness by whose stripes you were healed so jesus bear our sins in his own body on the cross now go to first peter 3 18. first peter 3 18 for christ also hath once suffered for sins the just for the unjust that he might bring us to god being put to death in the flesh but quickened by the spirit so jesus was the just who died for you the sinner the unjust so do you realize that you are the guilty and he is the innocent you are the unjust and he is the just well the just paid for your sins in your place as your sacrifice and if you receive him by faith and trust in what he did for you then you get forgiveness of sins let's go to hebrews now hebrews chapter 9. hebrews chapter 9 and verse 26 speaking of jesus christ look what it says hebrews 9 26 hebrews 9 26 says for then must he speaking of jesus in the context then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself so jesus came to die on the cross in your place for your sins in order to forgive and put away sin but he had to do something for you he had to die in your place for your sins now let's go to second corinthians 2 corinthians 5 21 this one really brings it home ii corinthians chapter 5 and verse 21. i corinthians 5 21 says for he hath made him to be sin for us that's jesus christ and god the father god the father made jesus christ the son to be sin for us so he took our sins on the cross who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of god in him so when you come to jesus and you trust jesus as your savior then god takes the sinlessness of jesus because jesus never sinned and he imputes that to you and he says now you're forgiven now you're right and now your sins are under the blood on the cross because jesus paid for it so that is amazing thing jesus christ came he lived 33 years you never sinned one time and then he went up there and then god the father put all sin on jesus and then god the father says okay i'm going to pour out my wrath and all this is in isaiah chapter 53 as well if you want to read that so this is all about the sacrifice now we look at the shedding of blood and the bible talks about the shedding of blood and you've got to understand that salvation has to do with blood atonement so let's go to hebrews 9 20 2. all throughout the bible even in the old testament when a man sinned the way to find forgiveness of his sins was he had to bring a blood sacrifice usually it was a lamb and he offered that lamb up to god and god gave him forgiveness based upon the blood of an innocent creature and it's so sad isn't it but i believe the idea was to make you feel bad for your sin because god is unhappy when a person sins well you would be unhappy too if you had to go and kill an innocent animal in your place for your sins but hebrews 9 22 says and almost all things are by the law purged with blood and without shedding of blood is no remission so the way of forgiveness is through a blood sacrifice well jesus christ went to the cross and he shed his blood and now if you realize we call that the blood atonement that that was done for the forgiveness of sins then you can be saved you can have the blood atonement applied to you and you can be saved so are you saved do you have the blood atonement of christ it is through blood that we are forgiven ephesians 1 7 says in whom we have redemption through his blood the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace now i'm going to skip the next one here on the list colossians 1 14 because it basically says the same thing colossians 1 14 and be careful though because it takes out the blood in new versions of the bible that's why i only use the king james bible in trying to win people to the lord because new versions take out words and a lot of times even whole verses i only believe in the king james bible now flip over with me to hebrews 13 12. hebrews chapter 13 and verse 12. hebrews 13 12 wherefore jesus also that he might sanctify the people with his own blood suffered without the gate so jesus knew that he had to shed his blood in order to pay for our sins and when he showed up john the baptist said behold the lamb of god which taketh away the sin of the world jesus came as a lamb to die and to shed his blood for our sins now first peter 1 18-19 redemption or salvation is only through that blood first peter 1 18-19 says for as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers but with the precious blood of christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot so the blood of jesus is precious to us who are saved because we see the blood of jesus as the only way to have our sins forgiven it is through the blood so is everybody saved because jesus died from the sins of the whole world well not really you see he did it for the whole world but the whole world must by faith receive that and that's what we as soul winners try to do we try to tell people let me tell you what jesus did to save your soul now it's up to you to receive it because salvation is by faith salvation is by believing now let's look at some verses on that so jesus did everything for you when he died in your place for your sins and now he says come unto me and now he says believe faith is believing it's trusting and when you believe that's when you're saved so salvation is through faith a lot of people get it wrong a lot of people think no it's by works and if i do good works and my good works outweigh my bad works then god will let me into heaven but you got a problem you're still in your sins and you don't have forgiveness of your sins yay good for you you did good works but what are you going to do with those bad works that you already did those are what keep you out of heaven so how do you get rid of those bad works god is willing to forgive them based upon his blood atonement if you will by faith trust in what he did for you then they're gone and then you get to heaven not based upon the good you do based upon what jesus did for you okay acts 16 verse 30 we have a question and brought them out and said sirs what must i do to be saved so this guy is asking hey man how do i get saved verse 31 and they said believe on the lord jesus christ and thou shalt be saved so salvation is by faith faith is believing we also call it trust or trusting so salvation is through faith through believing let's go over to john chapter three a lot of people this is fun when you give someone this verse because there's still a lot of people out there that went to sunday school as a kid and they always give them this verse john 3 16 and so this hopefully a person will go oh i remember that in sunday school you know a lot of times you'll hear that but john chapter 3 verse 15 through 18 says this for whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlast lasting life so salvation is through believing for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life verse 16 verse 17 for god sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved so it's through christ the world can be saved through his blood sacrifice but you must receive that through faith through believing verse 18 he that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of god now look down there verse 36 he that believeth on the son hath everlasting life and he that believeth not the son shall not see life but the wrath of god abideth on him so the choice is heaven or hell don't accept jesus you're already going to hell you just reject what he did for you but if you accept it by faith then he'll take you to heaven because he offers you forgiveness of your sins and when you're forgiven what's like you never sinned it's like you're on your way to heaven go to john 11 25 john chapter 11 and verse 25 so these are all great verses on believing john 11 25 says and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die believeth thou this now there's physical death and there's spiritual death we all die unless the rapture comes and we are saved go up at the rapture but we all die in the flesh so the body dies but the bible talks about the soul and the soul is eternal the soul spends eternity in heaven or in hell and the bible calls going to the lake of fire in your soul the second death and a person will continually die for all eternity and paying for their sins because the wrath of god as we saw abides on them because they rejected what jesus did for them to forgive them their sins i don't want that so i look at that and say man i gotta get out there and tell people what jesus did and beg them hey come to jesus because i don't want to see you go to that place of torment i want to see you go to heaven i actually care about people want to see them save and the only way to be saved is what the bible says and it's the knowledge of the truth it's the knowledge of the scriptures that tells us how to be saved next one here on our list is ephesians 2 8 9 ephesians 2 8 9 says for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of god not of works lest any man should boast so salvation is not by the works that we do it's by faith in the finished work of jesus christ because when jesus died on the cross he said it is finished what is finished the payment for the sins of the entire world and if you will come and trust in that you'll be saved got another one here romans chapter 10. let's go over here to romans chapter 10. and over here in romans chapter 10 look at what it says it tells us clearly that salvation is by faith by believing you accept accept you accept by faith romans chapter 10 and a lot of people love to come to romans chapter 10 but they only read verse 13. why don't they read the whole passage romans chapter 10 verse 9 that thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord jesus and believe in thy heart that god hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness when the mouth confession is made unto salvation so it's a heart matter and a lot of people they'll say with their mouth well i believe in jesus i'm a christian a lot of people do that as a child a lot of people as a child make a profession and they repeat a prayer but they don't mean it from the heart and so it was just something they did with their mouth see the prayer doesn't save us it's whether or not there is faith from the heart and that's what the passage is saying and believe in thine heart so it's not the prayer that saves you it's are you believing that saves you and it continues there verse 11 for the scripture saith whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed verse 12 for there is no difference between the jew and the greek for the same lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him for whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved but 14 says but how then shall they call on him and whom they have not believed and how shall they believe in him and whom they have not heard and how shall they hear without a preacher see a lot of people think that the calling is just with the mouth and you say oh god please save me but what if you say that with your mouth but you're not believing from the heart let me show you what calling is according to romans chapter 10. look what it says here in verse 6. romans 10 6 but the righteousness which is of faith speaketh so faith cries out to god and it continues there on this wise say not in thy heart god's not looking at your mouth and then when you say oh jesus and you say something with your mouth he said okay you're saved because you said something god's not looking at your mouth he's looking at your heart and he's looking at your heart and he's looking to see when your heart is trusting in his blood because salvation is a heart matter and it's from the heart that we believe a lot of people out there they'll go and try to win someone to the lord and all they want to do is get them to repeat that prayer and then they go away so who you say because he said something he might have said it with the mouth but did he believe it from the heart because salvation is faith from the heart there's another verse in the bible i believe it's uh ii timothy 2 22 and it says that call upon the lord of a pure heart so calling upon the lord is from the heart not just the mouth you got to be careful he that when his souls is wise have some wisdom you're not just trying to get someone to repeat a prayer after you you're trying to get someone's heart prepared for wanting to trust by faith from the heart in what jesus did and there in romans 10 it goes on and talks about verse 14 how then shall they call on him and whom they have not believed and how shall they believe in him and whom they have not heard and how shall they hear without a preacher and how shall they preach except they be sent as it is written how beautiful are the few of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things so you've got to preach something first before a person can be saved something has to be preached and what has to be preached the gospel i've had people tell me well brother breaker you're just taking too much time you're just you just go up to a center and say hey you want to be saved and if they say yeah yeah i say repeat after me i'm a sinner please save me jesus amen and they say okay you're saved and i look at that and go where's the blood where's the sacrifice where's the shedding of blood where's where's the faith you told them that repeating is what saves you and i just look at that and scratch my head and i go that's shallow soul winning that's not getting into the heart of the person the scripture and showing them hey faith in what jesus did trust in what he did you know how many people i've met in my life that told me brother breaker i thought i was a christian but i wasn't and i was just as lost as a golf ball and high weeds because i said a prayer and someone told me if i say a prayer i'd get saved and i was trusting in my prayer all these years i didn't know anything about the blood i didn't know anything about his sacrifice i just was told as a kid in sunday school just go to jesus and say oh jesus please save me and all these years i was trusting in my prayer that i said but i wasn't trusting in the blood jesus shed and that is all too common in our day and age there are a lot of people out there who don't trust in the gospel they're trusting in their prayer or their water baptism or their church attendance or something that they do that's not what saves us not what we do are you trusting in what jesus did okay now i'm not against prayer okay you can pray a lot of times i'll take someone through all these and i'll say now it's up to you do you want to get saved if so why don't you go to the lord now and and tell him from the heart speak to him from the heart and say lord i accept i trust in what you've done if it's from the heart that the belief comes from then they're saved i don't put my faith in what they say with their mouth i'm hoping that from the heart they are truly trusting in what jesus did so i don't have a problem with prayer but i do want to point out that the prayer itself is not what saves you it's whether or not from the heart you're believing back there in romans chapter 10 verse 16 but they have not all obeyed the gospel for isaiah saith lord who hath believed our report verse 17 so then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of god so do you see how important it is to give all these verses so that their faith will be in the propitiation of christ faith in what jesus did we don't want people to think well if i do this or if i do that then i'll get to heaven that's not salvation and a lot of times this one two three repeat after me thing it tricks a person into thinking oh well if i just repeat the prayer then god will save me and so they're trusting in their prayer and they're not trusting in the sacrifice of blood now the bible says we're saved by faith the question is faith in what go to romans 3 25 so we're saved by faith so that makes us question faith in what what should our faith be in according to the bible well go with me to romans chapter 3 and verse 25 whom god has set forth to be a propitiation okay that means the act of appeasing wrath and so he appeased god's wrath in our behalf on the cross so he paid for our sins and took the penalty for our sins on the cross so he is your propitiation how how does jesus become your propitiation whom god set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood so when we look at the bible and it tells us that it's through faith faith in what the bible says faith in his blood faith in his blood is your faith in the blood of jesus because if you're trusting in what jesus did his shedding of blood for you then you're saved because you're accepting it and saying i'm i'm my faith is in that to get me to heaven because i know it's not what i do not my works i'm trusting in what he did i trust the blood and so it says through faith in his blood declare his righteousness for the mission of sins that are passed through the forbearance of god you're saying i'm unrighteous i'm a sinner and i know i can't get to heaven by myself so i come to christ's sacrifice of his shedding of blood and i receive it through faith and that declares him righteous and i'm the unrighteous but i receive what the righteous did for me in paying for my sins now i'm safe and flip over to romans 5 11 i don't have it here on our little reference sheet here but romans 5 11 says and not only so but we also join god through our lord jesus christ by whom we have now received the atonement so the bible talks about the blood atonement and how you must receive it how do we receive receive it you must receive it by faith so on july 29 1992 my dad set me down and took me through many many bible verses i think it probably took us close to 30 to 45 minutes and he's just showing me verse after verse after verse and he came to this verse romans 3 25 and it was just like he clicked and i realized oh all my life i was trusting in something i had done i wasn't trusting in the blood and what jesus did and that's when by faith i received jesus as my savior july 29 1992 so these are verses on salvation now right there is where it stops but i still have some other verses because if a person gets saved and they say yeah i see that i understand that and they truly believe from their heart and they're saved then we can show them these other verses and these other verses are all about how when you're saved you become a son of god now i won't go into these i won't read these again you can go as long as you have a computer and you can click on my website and you have a thing that opens a pdf file and most people should have that included on their computer then you can find this in printer print it yourself but i talk about how when you're saved you're a son of god and when you're saved then you're sealed so when saved what happens when we are saved we become sons of god and we are sealed with the holy spirit let's go quickly to ephesians 1 13 and we'll close here ephesians chapter 1 and verse 13. and ephesians 1 13 tells us what salvation is it's trusting jesus as your savior and then becoming a son of god not only are you given forgiveness of all your sins but now you are born anew born again as a son of god and the holy spirit of god actually comes and dwells inside of you and what is it based upon well ephesians 1 13 in whom he also trusted after that you heard the word of truth okay so you've got to hear you've got to hear this message and a lot of people out there have never heard but you have to hear what the gospel a lot of churches they go around all they do is the one two three repeat after me thing and are they giving the gospel at all well they might give you a verse virtual juice died for you but are they telling you about the shed of blood and then are they explaining it fully to where a person can understand oh it's a sacrifice of for my sins in my place i mean are they do they i kind of think it's shallow when you do the little one two three just repeat after me thing because oftentimes i see people trusting in what they repeated rather than trusting in the actual propitiation of christ i come to people all the time say hey man are you christian oh yeah i'm a christian i go well tell me why you think you're a christian well because i said the prayer when i was five years old i said really so let me let me ask you some more questions if you were to die right now would you go to heaven well i don't know i said so what what do you do if you if you doubt it well i say the prayer again so so you believe your prayer is what saves you and that's what they tell me yeah yeah i think the prayer will get me to heaven and i'm like all right all right let's let's lay that aside for a minute can i can i go through some of these verses with you and i take them through the verses you know what 99 of the time they tell me i never heard that before i didn't know that i didn't know he shed his blood and he was in my place right i was told as a kid just ask god to save you oh god please save me and i've been trusting all these years in my asking rather than trusting in the blood atonement of christ so when did you get saved well you you have to hear it faith come by hearing here by the word of god so i try to give you verses on what the bible says so ephesians 1 13 says in whom he also trusted salvation is through trusting after teach you heard the word of truth the gospel of your salvation in whom also after that she believed you were sealed with that holy spirit of promise so over and over and over and over and over and over the bible is very clear jesus died as the sacrifice for our sins he died in your place for you sinner he shed his blood now if you will place your faith in that blood and trust in the blood of christ then you're saved and salvation is through trusting through believing through faith faith belief and trust all the same thing what are you trusting in to get you to heaven well a lot of people in this world are trusting in what they do and they think they deserve heaven because they say i'm a good person i did this well you're lost a lost person will always brag and say i i i and you ask somebody hey are you saved they say yeah well i did this or i did that that's a lost person salvation isn't what i do or i did a lot of people they'll say well i do good so i'm going to heaven i know you're not you're still in your sin a saved person trust in what jesus did because salvation isn't what i do salvation is what jesus did and my faith and my faith in that in him right not in me so there are a lot of people out there that are lost and religious and they go around and they think they're good people and they're all about me me me look at me and and you ask them are you going to have me like well i think so because i do this and i and you mark it down that person is what we call self-righteous because they're trusting in their own righteousness and not in the righteousness of christ don't trust in what you do or did true salvation is coming to jesus and realizing i am a sinner and i can't get to heaven in my sins so what do i do oh you mean he was my sacrifice on my behalf he shed his blood and he says if i will put my faith in him and if i trust in him you see there's some humility there you have to put down your own pride and righteousness and you have to realize oh yeah so i am a sinner i thought i was so great and i did all that but i really am so so awful then you look at christ and you say wow wow he did it for me ah yeah i accept what he did for me and then you're saved it's by faith in the blood atonement of christ so i hope that's been a blessing to you i hope you will go to my website and download these three bible inserts and uh the first one about the bible put in the front of your bible the other two would be something you could put in the back a lot of times i'll get a glue stick and i will put glue on the back and actually paste it into the bible and take your bible with you wherever you go if you are saved and have this as a handy reference guide in the back of your bible that you can use to show people verses on how to be saved one of the greatest blessings i've ever had in my ministry is not only getting emails and letters and phone calls saying brother breaker i got saved from your ministry but also when someone says brother breaker i got saved from your ministry and i led my first soul to jesus christ and i just said what a blessing not only are they saved but now they're out there winning others to the lord and that's what we need to do i don't know when the rapture is coming i believe it's going to be really soon and we need to get people saved and so this is how you do it you take the bible you show them verses and you put the emphasis and the stress upon what jesus did what did he do he shed his blood and you tell them all about what jesus did for them you see modern religion is all what you do no what you do can't save you because you're doing it as a sinner and every work that a sinner does is still the work of a sinner and how does god accept that god doesn't want sin he wants your sin forgiven and the bible talks about having your sin washed in the blood of jesus are you saved i'll stop there i hope this has been a blessing i hope you will take advantage of this and get those bible inserts put them in your bibles and also if you're handing out bibles print up a bunch of them cut them out and put them in every bible and i do that and i encourage you to and that way when i give out a bible if i don't have time to give the gospel to someone i say here i want you to have this bible and in the back is a list of
