hello everyone this is korean billy american john british sound australian walter and south african chantal you guys are excited today so today in this video we're going to be finding out pronunciation differences in us uk australian and south african english i have prepared a variety of words and i am going to show you guys the words and ask you how you pronounce each word let's get it's started two of them but i would say the majority is ant little so many ants in my backyard how many ants do you have it's exactly the same pronunciation though it's the same pronunciation a lot of people do say aunt though but it's usually ant and and the uk one aunt you have to say it with such gusto yes you have to lean back and aren't [Applause] i know that some people say anti as well personally i say aren't as well but i usually say auntie when i say this word instead of just aunt you also say rnc right it's really case by case super super case by case and startup i would agree with walter i think it's definitely aunt or monty we many people would use auntie as well what about aunt ant is an ant yeah i don't think i don't think we say auntie i haven't used them next one is man there are about four or five different pronunciations from this depending on exactly where you come from i think what you would probably hear the most is pecan pie or pecan pie there's the emphasis on the can in the u.s but again there's a lot of different ones but yeah i would say pecan pecan is a lot he can't but it's like we can do it yeah they just cut it real quick what about in the uk pecan pie oh what do see i can't even ever remember saying this in australia but if i read it i would say pecan pee can pie pretty similar like personally for me i'd probably put the stress on the sea as i said i don't even remember saying like yes word in australia but um yeah i just by reading it myself i say pecan pie yeah and south africa i haven't had the pecan pie discussion in south africa before so i'm not sure i'm not speaking for everyone but myself i'd say pecan pie pig for everyone yeah yeah i'm speaking for myself don't say it like this bring it up i've always said pecan pie no no no no big can of pecans in this episode america's all over here all right and the next one is this one i feel like i'm gonna be alone again vase face falls it's very nasal yeah we have like her zen oh we have a nice sound how are things because you know australia and south africa we learn the same style of english so we're always going to be against not against but like but like differences you know it's not that i'm different i'm unique uk has influenced so many countries hello it wasn't much of a choice i love this word banana banana banana banana banana banana banana it's a yeast banana yeah yeah uk banana banana banana banana australians also say banana but we also say nana no no no that's like a cute way you want some nana there's a song make those buddies sing but the american version will be bananini [Applause] and south africa also banana banana so have you not heard of the banana i mean of course i've heard of the banana but you've never heard of bananas in pyjamas of course you say zebra because you have z but we don't have z we have z so it's zebra but you don't have real zebras either so you have to say it i don't think that's how it works next one yes that's a vitamin and in korean it's also proud then australia i always grew i grew up by saying vitamin and then we actually use both i think i have heard vitamin and vitamins even in australia i say vitamin but i'm pretty sure i've also had vitamins i grew up saying vitamin but i also know some of my friends would say vitamins so it wouldn't be it wouldn't be that strange to use both ways and the next one yes i didn't know there was another way of pronouncing it pasta pasta the reason i feel like this is correct is because what he's about to say you pasta yeah it hurts me when i hear that because to me it's the british association it's so like regal feeling but a pasta sounds like you're spitting it out like i'm sorry but pasta i'm just not from the posh area so i say pasta mate give me some pasta yeah i say pasta pasta because like i say the word past as well right so not the short a sound pasta pasta pasta no i feel i hope i'm saying her pasta pasta yeah south africa pasta shorter pasta oh okay so there's a mix yeah yeah isn't it from like italian pronunciation so italian pronunciation would be pasta tomato tomato tomato that's quite literal tomato tomato so it's a little bit [Applause] it sounds like tomorrow though how do you pronounce tomorrow tomorrow [Music] long time ago when we all used to make fun of each other's um accents those are like key words i would say like tomato long ago like a minute ago like recently 30 seconds ago next can we say it one i don't know well let's see leisure well i didn't say that okay it's like so shocking john you stay away what are you doing to her leisure leisure and it has that just sound that's very difficult leisure you make it sound french and uk leisure legend also in korean is called um never used like leisure did you not see my reality and the next one oh i this one so in this case it's going to be daughter dog daughter daughter oh i love the builder yeah see australia uh has a very good mix first part as more of the british and the second part is more american so we say like daughter australians usually make it a ah sound daughter like better better father you look so lonely and what about south africa daughter daughter it's more like skip uk way sound and so you have the clear t sound yeah all right so we've been finding out pronunciation differences in us uk australia and south african english before we finish the video don't forget to check out miami's youtube channel pagoda1 and also check out their instagram accounts up there also you have your own youtube channel yeah
