SOUTH AFRICAN vs AMERICAN ENGLISH

other we don't even know what the other person said every just like uh-huh a little background story I'm from Johannesburg South Africa and Connie North Carolina America verka America it's America that's how proper Americans and we made in a little town called cascais in Portugal just outside of Lisbon all right what we thought you do is I would say hi I would said in South Africa or ha I would say a certain word in South Africa and then Carly would say how she would say I got you okay we're ready what do you call the thing that turns your rate at which you must stop whilst you are driving a stoplight or traffic light but we call it a stoplight okay South Africa we call it a robot why I don't know I think it's only something psycho a bit but where do they come from anyway what do you eat that's like yellow and it's all in rows that's the shape corner on the car and we call it Millie's in South Africa mm-hmm when you are done with high school in South Africa you go to University College but what I call it varsity like varsity for us it's like in high school you have your JV team and your varsity team like JV football and varsity Oh LJ being like licensee and yeah so if you said varsity I'd be like oh are you in 11th or 12th grade why do you get under McDonald's burger that's cream pickles we call them gherkins good good kirklands good Guardian oh not quite genes gherkins you can't make that sound America why do you call the thing that you like your mouth Avenue done eating napkin and napkins why we call them serve eh this is a Viet okay man why did your mouth go like that cuz I got big teeth when Kylie says a word plan like I'm going to make a plan she goes plenteous the plan for the day can a plan for the day I say water water water I'm thirsty I need some water what water water so Connie has made a couple of South Africans living hell and one thing she noticed that we say often and we do actually say it's off and it's such a big part of our vocabulary is the word shame shame shame is like mmm shame it's like derogatory you're a shame you were disgraced in the family your shame okay so some Africans use it in a good way in a sympathetic we're all we just use it way we don't know what else to say so we just go but we say like oh oh what a key baby shame baby so cute I'd be like in a shame it's a blessing so in South Africa when you invite people over to your house and you've got a fire going outside and you have meat on the fire and these drinks going and it's festive and there's kids running around that you call a bride look out so in a very Kaiser or barbecue yeah right like when I'm her bra for the first time I was like 34c bra that sounds like bra and in in southern language when Kanye and I ran out of you go ahead a time within my new in your frame know and I run out of minutes South Africans call it a time that you have to load on your phone in order to make calls and message somebody they call minutes minutes even if it's for text bra I can't come makes you I'm sorry I ran out of minutes when I wanted to top up my diet fat so that I could use whatsapp and the Internet Carly said data you put some data on the phone they pay me to say differently it's a made home tomato ketchup tomato sauce yeah ketchup is the bomb a mosquito in barbecue sauce hey BJ it did hear you bark yourself yeah alright and then another very South African thing that we told Connie is if something is really nice and we really like it we say it is like uh like you like black a lot like a good Oh like this food is so lacquer lacquer oh good okay you also gotta go over the shoulder aviators Shawn wrong yeah Shawn roll it out I'm kind of saying without doing this it's like the rule inside Africa I'm gonna race to do what do you know that Arkansas peace AR Arkansas you can get arrested sure shout out to tractor drivers everywhere fun game we got to try and speak like one another Connie sucks at this like why's that have and it's the Tar Heel State but it's all you it's like you just put tar on your heel and you walk around that makes us footprint right yeah was it when he was all over thee yeah we walk around with tarts on our heels no I'm just kidding why is North Carolina called the Tar Heel State she's checking her source so during the colonial times North Carolina was a key sub anyway well done for that is
