hello everyone this is Korean Billy and this is American John British Sam an Australian Bella and today we are going to talk about different kinds of English like American British and Australian and today we're going to talk about different vocabulary so I have prepared ten different pictures I'm going to ask you how do you call each picture okay ready mm-hmm [Music] so the first one is gas station petrol station we call it the petrol station but we also call it the servo ah servo that's right servo is service station yeah but just shortened we have a lot of slang for things like this because we also have service stations it has a petrol station but it's also for like taking a break so they're usually alongside the motorway and you can pull in for a break so there's a petrol station and lots of shops where you can just take in something but there are like different kinds of control other than counseling yes there are hurt you have gas and diesel together so we still just call it gas station okay the next one is cries or french fries chips chips chips is also different in America right kids on chips is crisps it's not it's yeah like the potato exactly and you call it we just call it chips channel that's chips and crisps are also chips well that's confusing yeah okay you say I want to set a chips do they say which type and you say chips well it depends on the context but let's say you get a sandwich with french fries or chips what do you say why would you get like crisps with you and the next one is this one we call it a subway the tube we don't have like a subway system so you don't really use like underground or subway because it's not underground okay but that's true because we don't use the underground outside of London it's only the London Underground yeah because it's underground cheese yeah also it's over London it's just that yeah okay yeah the next one is this one clip flops we also say flip flops that's Australian oh it is thongs yeah that's confusing oh no embarrassing yeah so what you cool what do you call the phone J stream I can't just ring we use g-string and almost interchange and all those g-string wrong can be thinner embarrassing when I hear lie I bought some new thought yeah like I don't know why you're telling me that I don't know I'm sorry who honest Tralee and I say flip flops no yeah I know yeah next one is just want the sandwich that's not gonna be able to but it's ancient its credit assignment kelpy yeah really it's a sandwich sandwich if you want it to be really Australian you can say it's a singer singer it's the slang for sandwich we say Sawney it's like s a and ie Sarney sorry sorry see I've heard Sami before but not in the US or not from a US parallel there isn't any likes lungful Soumitra it's just a sandwich yeah you know the next one is this one mm elevator lift I guess elevator but you'll hear both kind of interchangeably okay so you use both yeah and like on the signs some places will say lifts some places will say elevator is there anything that says elevator lift no it's one or the other and next one is this one is for Australian McDonald's McDonald's mecca's they're actually a few that have the sign change to say Mackenzie really really embarrassing when Korean people see those kind of signs of asbestos is an off-brand of McDonald's why was McDonald's changed into Marcus because we're lazy we don't want to say in the full word like anything that can be shortened will be shortened like ambulances amber avocado is ever often often green Auburn yeah the next one is this one candy sweets lollies Wally's Wow not a lollipop a solid lolli what about the circle one movie that's a lollipop Oh lolli hop it's like I slowly as well I slowly yeah icy cold yeah I see PO I see ball one an icy pool Wow cotton candy for America g-force Wow strains are crazy I like I'm gonna go back home to England yeah safe very fast and everyone's gonna look at me the next one is this one my liquor story off-license what off-license unlicensed we don't have I have no idea where it originated from it sounds really illegal but there's enough license yeah we don't have an unlicensed yeah we call it call it a bottle shop or if you want to shorten it a bottle Oh what does okay it's like how experiences shorten things yeah so most people don't say bottle shop then you say I'm going to the bottle oh do you also use the word liquor no sounds really far interpreted okay yeah we just like you say liquor alcohol booze and this is gonna be the last word this one is that a cookie or a cracker I'm gonna guess cookie cookie cookie I'll tell you what it's neither because it's a whiskey that's good this gets um mainly sweetened and crackers and savory okay and you also use the word cook you're right you look different kinds of exactly Joey I made it though and you know typical chocolate chip what about biscuit in America it's like southern style biscuit it's about I don't know this thick and it's a certain type of bread and a certain type of way of making the bread and that's called a biscuit it always confused me because people were talking about like eating like biscuits and gravy awesome yeah and I'm like why would you yeah it's our savory yeah cuz I didn't realize that biscuit was like brand I was it's like maybe if you slice off the top of a muffin that's the size of a biscuit but it tastes nothing like nothing you said this getting gravy in England yep so we've been taking a look at different kinds of vocabularies like America and British in Fucking what? Has this girl never had a packed lunch in her life?

Edit: also do americans ever put fruit in thier biscuits? It looks like what we would call a scone but we have both sweet and savioury versions.
