hello everyone this is Korean Billy American hello everyone this is Korean Billy American John British Sam today in this video we are going to be finding more about for calbro differences in US UK and Australian English I'm going to show you guys each photo and ask you what you call that thing in each photo first one is this one the full name which is never used vacuum cleaner vacuum clean but you can say vacuum and very rarely but sometimes back alright get the back so however my family said vacuum what about you that's a Hoover we have like the company called Henry who the really cute one yeah it's really cute cute I'm sure they'd be a photo but I mean also in vacuum cleaner thank you gonna use everything but yeah if you said Hoover people would be confused at first they'd be like no man I've got a Dyson very such a yet well known vacuum brand but it's not called the yeah I'm not too short to be honest someone please let you know I'm gonna claim it as American yeah is Whoville also popular in Australia as a brand yeah I have a favorite home just a little handheld one but I think in genuine are probably Dyson in the USA we also just called it by the brand name get the Dyson but you don't say like I dice in the hole that could become a thing thank you I don't know what the kids say these days Hoover as a perk I hoovered yeah I heard up usually with the preposition up and you use vacuum vacuum I vacuumed you did ya vacuumed of the floor what about you Jay I'm vacuuming but you didn't uber okay and the next one is fun oh okay Amy I think that would be just be called bathing-suit ain't any tight not a suit of course we have different types of bathing suits and we ought to use a name like one piece or bikini of trunks like swim trunks for men and then there's many others no the swimming suit oh yeah I've heard that before yeah yeah but swimming suit the four guys trunks girls bathing suit all the English words are in your brain now yeah exactly that does happen ago yeah but one piece what about the word the swimming pool sure [Music] well that's more for girls so means oxygen that's what that is why so yeah if you go to a costume party so yeah nice movie posters hey that's not the people it's not people listening so we're just shortening this shorts you can also call called shorts oh because you're yeah I think it's the material as well like it's made out of that kind of material any shorts made of that material could be bullets but overall you can just say phases but isn't they thing different from swimming yeah they'll be pulled a bathing suit yeah maybe because back in the day when bathing suits were starting to first come out baths we're not as popular to have in the house so you would go out to the river to the banks or whatever to go bathe you would actually have a bath which is just water on the face but you know what I've noticed Australia they take any name make it shorter and cuter yeah we like shortening track you Darren yeah by the beta's I heard some people say clogs talks but I think that might have like been imported from New Zealand but have you ever used the word talks some of my friends do I daren't in Australia yeah but it could be the New Zealand okay next one is this one yeah yeah oatmeal oh man just oatmeal this literally the main ingredient is is rolled oats I believe is the main ingredient move so a meal made from oats I guess I love this brown sugar butter mix it all together and as a kid a lot of brown sugar and some chocolate mix it together you have no potion of diabetes one of the UK porridge but that doesn't really look like typical points to me mmm it's more of a liquid base than a solid base and we can sprinkle some blueberries in yeah well I got so much do you like simmer it will boil it to make porridge oh yes there's a lot of different ways but since I was a child we always got like little packets around yeah but like don't you use the word oatmeal so it's just not very popular but it might be a bit different yeah just pour it then Australia porridge porridge yeah it doesn't matter if it's like that what about milk it's made from you but once it's cooked we call it large how do you make your part yeah is it boiled water and milk or water anyway I put into my yeah so this morning just like oatmeal almond milk [Music] but like don't you guys use rice to make that kind of porridge all we have I think to a lot of Koreans that would sound really strange wheat rice here for every meal but pudding dessert so I think if you guys into flame it's a plug or outlet power outlet but we just say outlet or our plug outlet plug what about me okay yeah plug would be what you put into the plug socket oh that's bad yeah yeah the meal so that yeah that would be the socket head yeah it's okay what about all that do you all see you is always something we know but don't use yeah you don't actually say it what about in Australia same we know outlet but we don't use it we would just say something oh this is how that also mean kind of like a claim think of it but in the UK that's what it's do you use the same one well I guess we have outlet for a lot of things cuz yeah you could say like a clothing out or an outlet mall is what we say have kind of like a famous I don't know if it's a chain or what it is but it's deer fur like direct factory outlet and that's my old clothes go that haven't been sold and then you can buy them like 70% off so people don't usually say outlet they say like let's go to DF art but people know it's an outlet yeah and the next one is this one oh we call it pacifier pacifier and it's to pacify the baby yeah what about in the UK that's a dummy but we also know it as a pacifier okay and maybe on like official labels it would be cool passive power that means just a more casual conversational way of referring to you know what I bet I've heard this and I thought that they said gun because it was that makes sense in Australia yeah we also call it double cause it's like spit the dummy like if someone spits the dummy they're like upset I would just think like you're literally saying spit the pacifier out but it's like a phrase for getting upset so we don't fire probably like on a box or something use a pacifier but we'll just say dummy so this time you use the British wonder yeah peanut chews and the next one is this one is called a mosquito mosquito mosquito I got slang for this Peter would that be like down south I am like this tons eaters here I'm feeling it you're not feeling it like it's around that it's not my slang I've heard this maybe on TV or something and I'm pretty sure it's called spew more skeeters then it kind of gusty sort of skeevy yeah is this one okay I'm pretty sure it's called faucet faucet yeah if it's outside I believe it's called spigot spigot yeah but either otherwise yes I'll say I think that sounds insulting what about in British English oh right do you think faucet water no Maw set water no we say tap water yeah we actually yeah because when you tap into something you're accessing that resource that water is tapped from the ground but yeah we call that a faucet and then it's a tap water give me some tap water genius faucet in the UK I've heard it yeah but I personally use it again we would no force it if someone's we don't really use it is it still common to help that stuff red hot and cold tap yeah yeah like in my bathroom we have that but in the kitchen we renovated ice we got into the middle this like super cold and super halt you feel like the mad scientist for a second I'm getting the temperature just right how did you get but I think I mean in the old American homes you don't have the - maybe maybe in the east in the south but man I've never actually seen it - faucet maybe that's because American buildings are relatively modern right yes yeah obviously some of them can be up to near 400 whatever years old but I would say the reason maybe we don't is cuz back in the past you just had cold and then hot or heat was maybe added later that's the only thing I can think of it could be also because most buildings are less than 100 all right so we've been finding more about hotel there are differences in US UK and Australian English and before we finish this video don't forget to check out John and Sam's YouTube channel or go to one as well and don't
