hello everyone this is Korean Billy American John producer and Australian Walter today we're also going to cover in a vocabularies in America Britain and Australia and I've prepared a seven photos this time and I'm going to show you each photo and ask you to take a guess while your cool the object in the photo in each country very good yeah so the first one is this one yep this once well for me I just call that a sweater but I think more specifically a knitted sweater knit a sweater yeah but sweater is like yet everyone just says sweater what about you in the UK and you can't that's a jumper although you don't jump in it yeah the jumper why do they call it jump you jump into it but not how I do it don't you also use the word jumper for another kind of clothes in my recollection when you say jumper I imagine a full body from leg until shoulder suit jumpsuit jumpsuit Australia is pretty similar to the UK we say jumper as well oh yeah so you don't use the word sweater uh not really I guess some people would use sweater but I as soon as I saw that the first thing that came to my mind was jump off so so what the sweater like if I said sweater what would you think it's wrong oh yeah what about sweatshirt is it different oh yeah there is sweater sweater and sweatshirt there's more like a t-shirt that's what I like sweatshirts I thought well like just kind of lightly shirt it's kind of my t-shirts oh yeah is that well no I'd say I would say sweater oh really yeah but that I think that would be a sweatshirt yeah like I said Americans like it simple that's a sweater and the next one is this one ah yeah I I know I know this one yeah so this is what you use to a race something so it's called an eraser yeah literally originally erasing to erase exactly yeah which is a good word and what you should use but Sam should I be the person that explain what it means I'll just say what we call it yeah okay okay okay what do you call it anything UK UK well a razor is okay but it's more commonly known as a which ultimate explain hasn't because rally also says rubber as well and I believe that in other countries I think America specifically a rubber is a condom right have you got a rubber I I would be like no no I'm not sharing and basically it's just you know made of rubber yeah that's is why to erase so eraser yeah that is made from rubber so that you rub out things yeah you rub out it's made of rock that is the first time someone's explained why it's called a rubber I do think of that call hi yeah yeah what if you want to talk about just general rubber a substance can you just understand them with the context no with context with sugar yeah yeah and the next one is this one oh we say zucchini we borrow from the Italians on this one zucchini yeah that sounds kind of like adults like yeah yeah zucchini zucchini zucchini what about you all do you call it who's it couch ads maybe some people say called a is that that must be French then huh yeah so we do Italian you do French we both imports that one and maybe American folk people import from the Italian yeah maybe or maybe more Italian immigrants but you said a bur gene for the eggplant yeah aubergine Virginia Oh Gomez it a birdie zucchini we say yeah I've always grown up knowing a zucchini as well then have you not heard of we hit live because like Australians are so influenced by like British and American we do know the different words but for me growing up it was always zucchini if like American people say it like a zucchini can you understand what that means yeah I can understand what it means I've heard of that word you have heard of the word but yeah it's kind of like this situation with like coriander versus cilantro oh yeah yeah ice like I think I say corriendo like Australian say coriander I think in like South Southern America comment below where you say this where I came from which is the West we said cilantro but I also heard coriander a lot in America so it depends on where you're from I've never noticed the lantern to a little like coming to career actually so yeah I know the next one is this one pants pants ba NTS pants yeah when I came to Korea I had exchange student and another exchange insights me yeah I like you I like your pants my idea was that this excuse me another one yeah that means underwear oh it was yeah it took took me a second to click imagine you met someone in the toilet and I like you but to be fair if they said I like your trousers in the bathroom also pretty and trousers I don't think I mean we know the word cuz we like watch it on TV a lot but in my experience trousers is not often used what about in Australia I think we actually use a combination of like old like you know pants and trousers I've also heard like slacks black slacks is also another one when you go to my Australian Zara interest some clothing store what's that quote I probably agree I'd probably say pretty close to trousers like then the next one is okay yeah this would be just trash can trash really like a fresh can't ice bucket or something like that not even know we if you say trash container it's the really big one that's on the sec huge what everybody says exactly but for something the bit smaller all of it from the tiny one to the bigger one Wow what about in the UK um that we have been most specifically really been really been in they're so cute I really you say to really does really come from the word wheels yeah yeah but a wheelie is what you're doing like a bike or motorcycle oh yeah don't you use to what been in America yeah I I think when you go to the store and you look at the tag you'll see a bin mmm but people just say can almost a hundred percent of the time trashcan trashcan and you don't even don't use the what rubbish they're not unless we're impersonating a British person yeah and British people don't use like trash bin oh no no it never oh my so what about in Australia yeah it's the same we say Willie been really meaning we don't really use the would trash very often it's usually rubbish or garbage so it's a I guess we could call a garbage bin or like no I don't hear it very often but yeah we definitely call that a wheelie bin yeah okay fantastic so yeah like you know like a tin can yeah I'm sorry I have no defense and the next one is bathroom a restroom but bathroom almost on your arse at a time the restroom is more for like restaurants or a department store when you're out of the airport it'll say restroom but at home you say bathroom bathroom restroom yeah but what about the UK one that's the move Lulu Oh cute I know the loo yeah enough to dilute all the toilet we mean as the place though I mean you can be next one but that's considered dirty in the US if you say I'm going to the toilet you wouldn't say that to an an average person you like yeah it'd be like oh the toilet TMI I don't need to know you're going to the toilet right it's usually yeah blue bathroom if I hit restroom I'm like I don't rest in that place that's true it's not a good interest that what am I in Australia oh we like like you guys are gonna make us sound dirty then cuz I just say toilet like in most cases like the toilet is connected with the bathroom and it's also separated as well but I just say going to the toilet we have other like ballsy expressions like we say Donnie Donnie cuz you're done I'm like after I'm not exactly sure the meaning behind it but like we I say Donnie do you actually say I'm going to the dunny I don't know if it's like a common thing these days but like growing up like I heard it quite a lot going to the dunny as well those things there specifically they're a little bit different in Australia it's kind of like what we call a trough and it's kind of like a wall and it's all like one thing then separate yeah it's great it's great there's a rule that men have to be one urinal away from each other but a try yeah how do you do that at a truck you just try to give it good distance how you hold we're more friendly some of us do use it with Lu as well because again we hear that a lot through British English the last one is we have kind of three an interstate okay usually you'll see I 25 I 50 I 407 whatever interstate but we also have something called highway highway freeway there's the other one highway and freeway freeway yes Holly way for you hmm I don't know why it's called highway I assume it's because you take a ramp up to the road yeah but don't quote me on that yeah highways all sometimes like a both the general right exactly but so are interstates however highway I think is used more for in the actual state area and interstate are the roads that go between states what I'll a freeway it's an older term we used well we still do but you'll there be Toros right where you have to pay to be on the road and three yeah so it's free waiter you can yeah but now people are kind of using it for both like a highway can be a freeway what about in the UK um motorway motorway only makes weight losses make sense I recall like the main most ways just like em so you don't use the word like freeway or highway no never I live it's always just motoring yeah yeah okay what about Australia I think we kind of again this is another situation where we use boys because I know that we use motorway and we also use highway and in some cases I have heard we also use freeway as well in where I grew up there was motorways and there was highways definitely those are the two ones that come to mind when I look here but no one uses interesting no no no there's no States what do you cut province we have States but we I don't think we call it the interstate yeah I'm not sure about that all right so we've been talking about
