this is a penny and i'm turning it into this house in one week goodness sorry i have no idea whose house that was however i am trying to turn a penny into a house for one of my subscribers here's how youtube as i went up to our third potential trade partner i noticed a box of knickknacks on the ground what she pulled out of that box will go down in history oh my gosh it's a little dinosaur guy i will take that i feel like that's a good transaction i'm too old for this the value of this blue dinosaur 25 cents i was making progress and fast it's named dan named it damn hey do you guys want to trade me for this blue dinosaur anything valuable all right those got stiff arms that's when we met ashley who's become a dinosaur fanatic within the last three days she even made this cute little plate with the t-rex on it needless to say she was interested in dan i can show you the rest of these men i think we do that okay ashley yeah you just started a revolution okay thank you for fresh breath thanks ashley howdy now that's what i call a trade the approximate trade value of this half-eaten can of breath mints a dollar fifty then i ran into the woman who traded us the pen hey we have a pack of mints now hey would you guys want to trade me anything for this can of altoids cheers you guys know i love saying howdy right howdy i ran into a guy selling hats that say howdy on them so i'm gonna do whatever it takes to make this guy trade with me for anything but money what would you trade this hat for 25. sheesh i failed trying to turn a penny into a house here up to altoids any items no worries it's actually half empty i'm starting to think i made a mistake trading ashley for these breath mints i need to be more direct hey would you trade me your hat for this can of altoids all right and then i found out that these guys found out about my mission via word of mouth and wanted to talk traits we potentially have an altoids trade here at first they tried trading me a half used bar of soap from the bottom of their backpack and it was hard to not show my lack of interest wow is it a half of a soap it smells really nice it smells really nice for the first time in our journey i think we were actually declining a trade offer but that led to a crazy offer from the opposition headphones are you serious yes you're kidding me right now you got yourself a deal thanks so much enjoy that's right we got gas station earbuds the bottom of that backpack holds treasures that this world will never be able to understand i'm a good businessman i know but that was definitely an act of kindness and then i saw something that blew my mind someone was putting up flyers with my face on them saying this guy is turning opinion to a house watch out you guys hear about that this guy's turning a penny to a house huh yeah that's me yeah yeah it seemed like the flyers were generating a lot of buzz from the public but now i feel the urge to come clean about something you probably won't believe this but i was the one who put up the flyers with my face on them sometimes you have to do things that you're not proud of to turn pennies into houses okay like putting up promotional flyers with your face on them but there was one flyer on this pole that i did not put up and it might just be the perfect opportunity to trade these earbuds going from a penny to headphones wasn't too bad because it's like almost funny for people and i feel like in the future if we ever get expensive items like airpods or something i can see that being actually valuable to people to trade but there's something about this eight dollar to 50 range that's just weird so we're going to a huge multi-family garage sale now that i was going to be approaching someone's actual home i got t-shirts made to add to the legitimacy of my operation by the way judy i'm ryan nice to meet you are these half off as well everything's happened that's when i spotted this vintage polaroid the holy grail of garage sale finds and judy said she would trade for my earbuds trading headphones good luck on the house ryan thanks judy yes sir thank you i'm gonna give you a shirt then i gave judy a free t-shirt partially because i feel like i just robbed somebody's grandma then again i feel as though i've been robbed of a grandpa that's right i've never had one but we are getting eerily close to passing dr phil and youtube subscribers and his agent has now confirmed that if we do pass him in subscribers she will arrange a meeting in which i will ask him to adopt me as his legal grandson subscribe please in addition to that task i need to turn a penny into a house i've got a lot on my plate because this polaroid is actually functioning it's worth about 45 look at that smile i wanted to come back to where i started and share my progress with the locals but a couple dudes stopped me and said that everyone is talking about me right now so i'm here with i'm here with jared and i'm chad so you guys saw the signs yeah i didn't even know like you were out here i took a snap of it and sent it to my friends because i'm out from out of town right now and i'm like oh this is pretty cool so words getting around yeah exactly cool i caught them up to speed on how i had gotten a polaroid already and we had something we wanted to say to the world one two three judy we love you love you and that was the last i had ever seen jared and chad when i got back to town i was mobbed by people that were fans of my mission that's my boy yeah all right it seemed like i was becoming a local hero or something the support was crazy i'm not gonna lie i felt on top of the world but sun tzu once said in war when people are counting on you you must take action so i went to a pawn shop to see if they would trade me for this vintage polaroid camera it does take photos here's proof the pawn shop offered to trade me a stuffed animal which means my camera is worth at least a real animal so i came to the dog park hey that's a dog i mean would you trade your dog or unfortunately they were joking but they were open to supporting my mission so i gave the dog a free t-shirt tito what do you what do you have to say i feel like no one's taking my polaroid trade seriously so i'm gonna go into business mode it's time to make some business moves [Music] hey would you guys want to trade your ferrari for my polaroid here i don't think that's fair no it was immediately clear i'm not a hero in this part of town which is making me sad i i don't have anything but i'm not doing this for myself so now's probably a good time to tell you who the house is for this is hannah a subscriber of mine and small business owner in austin where i live oh so cute hannah thinks she won a sweepstakes where a shopify employee helps her set up her website but really it's just my friend preston i don't work for shopify i have no idea what i'm doing if all goes to plan i'll be trading up to a house and hannah will have no idea because she's so distracted by her website with our sponsor shopify you guys want to trade anything for a polaroid my luck was non-existent but hannah's our lucky subscriber to win a house hopefully and she thinks she's about to learn a bunch of stuff but really i just don't want her to find out what i'm doing she literally set up her website without any help sounds a lot like me of believing in herself and chasing her dreams okay i got laid off twice during covid and i decided not to go back to work and just find something i could do at home i think it's safe to say that judy would be proud of her while i was getting rejected left and right hannah's shopify store had already been created for the next week we'll be checking in on hannah's progress while hopefully distracting her from finding out about my mission yeah let me get one more one more meanwhile i was taking family portraits i had essentially lost all hope and my ability to trade this polaroid until this happened three hours ago a random number texted me saying he knows jared and chad yes that's jared and chad and wants to trade for my vintage polaroid camera but he doesn't get off work until late now it's midnight and i'm sitting outside of a la quinta waiting for an undisclosed individual to pull up and take my camera if this trade goes through we're gonna make a huge leap and i mean huge i'll be honest i was 90 sure i was about to get beat up this is the exact scenario in which i have been beaten up before but fortunately this midnight trade went my way and we got a new item 15-inch professional-grade pa speakers i'm not gonna lie i was pretty stoked about this but i only have six days left to turn these speakers into a house and if there's anything i've learned in the last 24 hours i gotta believe in myself [Music]
