Tiny Glamper Camper Build and Camping Part 2 - Glamping Build Challenge Vs. @Modern Self Reliance

a great bunch of cool stuff to add to it this is everything i picked up the other day to go in it [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh my goodness that was the ticket these are these are whoa those blow up [Music] i'm zachary fowler and you're watching fowler's makery and miss chat all right i'm almost at a million everybody keep saying to shave the beard for a million and this it feels like it's time to change it up i think i'm gonna i think i'm gonna just get rid of it just go for it [Music] [Music] that was a mistake just kidding you didn't really think i was gonna shave it did you this is my brother joe give me my hat back so uh joe is up for a visit we thought it'd be funny and uh he's been helping out for a week building all kinds of stuff out in the rest of the house and this is the first time he's been in a video with me outside of just randomly been at the house when i was visiting mom and dad since uh what seven eight years old i was pretty young yeah yeah yeah and he was we did a video when i thought it was gonna go viral uh when stuffed animals attack here's a clip of it here [Music] all right enough of all that silliness this is part two of the glamper camper [Music] i've taught this guy everything he knows over here it's so close i can almost taste it through the portal of wonder we got a great bunch of cool stuff to add to it we're making it completely waterproof sealed this is everything i picked up the other day to go in it wow right i didn't do a good job of talking about how much i spent on it before it was 300 for the trailer recouped half of that by two pieces of plywood that were in the bottom of the old trailer thousand dollars on materials 300 just running the hardware store for extra little fasteners and things and another 200 for the microwave air fryer wires power strips lights things like that i bought from home depot and now this stuff west system epoxy and some fiberglass tape i'm gonna tape the seams in it so they're completely waterproof and then we're gonna coat it and then we picked up some polyurethane from our local hardware store that's going to go on the interior so it doesn't mold up things like that the wood can't absorb water and be like getting all wet and there's a little bit of mold already in it you'll see oh definitely ups man that's a good ring for us today is it light oh that's packaging for the website cool thank you have a good one yeah so uh new door latches and for each of the doors one of these so i can lock it somebody sent me this a year ago and i never used it this is a dash cam slash rear view mirror so i'm going to mount that in the car and hopefully that'll help me too if i mount it in the right spot i can back up i'll be able to hitch my trailer without looking uh by looking in this to like line things up easier make things smoother and it has record capabilities this was sent to me as well and i haven't put it in it is a cell phone booster so i'm hoping that when i go those further afield places and i'm losing signal because i'm also running the whole business here and the you know four other channels and the editing and things like that i may need to sometimes still connect to the business side of my business instead of just the outdoor side of my business i'm gonna paint it black and then we're gonna put orange decals on it so it's like the a bunch of rain and i didn't cover it up so we're gonna find out exactly where it's leaking and fix that let's see joe let's see a lot of water came in through that top hinge look at the drips on there oh it's only been a week since the build and already there's a little splotching of mold and stuff from moisture being trapped in there and the temperature difference now's the time we gotta sander up and get the sealer on there for the inside seal it coat it oh it's got all kinds of like a puddle so all in all not too bad i knew that that that would leak and stuff but that's why we bought the stuff that we did so we concealer up put a new plywood flange in here apparently these little stick on lights didn't say stuck on so we'll have to add some glue or screws to those joe is only here for one more day he's already done a whole bunch of stuff in the house check this out [Music] [Music] that is the creepiest vanna white impression ever but anyways joe is a character in his own right and so we're actually talking about starting a channel for himself because as you saw he's quite a good builder and he does some really neat stuff i'd love to have him here all the time this house needs it there's still so many things i want to do the studio still has so much work to be done to it before it's finished and uh we had a blast hanging out but now all i have him is for one more day so we're gonna see how much of this stuff we can get done with him here and then i'm gonna be back on my own again trying to finish this up all right last time when we built the vapor camper it was kind of a little glamper camp off between me and kevin on modern self-reliance you can see the link in the description below for his channel i thought his clamper camper was epic he was able to sit up to a table in his glamper camper and like as if he had a computer area or eat inside by sitting on his bed i don't have that inside of mine when the bed is in here it's all bed so one of the modifications i want to make this time is to see if i can't make it so the bed can roll back that way and i can open this up and my feet can sit in here and i can make a seat back right here and have a comfortable place to sit with maybe a little swing out desk area but one thing i totally beat him in is the back hatch back on this giving me an awning that protects me from the rain i could be out here cooking and he has a fireplace but i think i got a solution to kind of uh up my ambience level you have to stick around to see that i'm not happy with this burnt wood look that i did it was kind of a last minute thing i wanted to get something on it and i didn't want to seal it up but i thought this would look cool because they did the floors upstairs doesn't match the cars kind of orange and pretty so we're gonna do the black with some stenciled stuff on it his was far more finished and it's insulated i don't know if i'm gonna get to that this time i might do that for a part three and do yeah airfryer is over here as high up as possible because then i could have a sink underneath it here it's ashamed we couldn't put this on like a folding thing that folds up and then you fold it down when you're ready no because i want to be able to really work the pan if i'm like if i put something on here and i want to be able to like you want to know yeah you want gordon ramsay to show up and be like this is a professional kitchen you know right out of the back he runs his hand along underneath the here and he's like no he's like i like that's that's good that's good we're doing or i can't be really cool is if this was under here and went and it was like there yeah you know what i mean or you could cook your everything upside down if i had one of those electric magnetic foolish things that you have in your kitchen yeah yeah yeah i could cook uh induction heating yeah it's like uh induction is pretty cool it's like uh filament and a light bulb you can it magnetizes your pan to the thing so you can cook upside down yeah right yeah yeah especially when you're stir-frying outside they invented them for astronauts because cooking in pans was so inconvenient the pan would float off the grill so you can cook with induction in space yeah and it'll keep your pan on your cooking surface yeah it's really good stick your cell phone on it press start oh yeah they also double as a cell when you're done uh messing around with the bear uh we got work to do okay all right let's see what your stuffing looks like so for the last couple days it's been just a lot of tedious long amounts of work doing very little um that progresses the project i went and sanded radiused all the corners and epoxy coated and then laid down fiberglass and kind of like doing metal work it gives you such a permanent finished result that it's very unique but we're running out of time for this project i've been splitting my time between working on this and getting ready for our new seven day island survival challenge i'm going to do this solo island survival challenge it's really awesome it's really epic i visited the island and then i'm back here in the evenings working until like two in the morning on this thing doing this glass work noah helped me the other night and we were here till midnight i would love to sand it prime it and then come back sand the primer prime it again get a really thick coat but we don't have time for that i promise sparrow when she gets back from vermont tomorrow we're going glamping so now i got everybody on task aiden new guys out working in the car he's going to install that camera in the in the river mirror and then noah's going to help me sand this i guess i'll uh stop wasting your time talking about it and uh start doing it [Music] [Music] hey [Music] [Music] [Music] let's see where the ac going if he's the air conditioner in my barn i got the it's like 100 degrees out already this morning and i got the ac on in the house and now i got an ac in here and then i got an ac in the shipping and handling room the paint turned out pretty good for just dropping a lot of bugs though they were laying flat like this before i brought them in oh even a few of the old rare painted beetles still you see the grain of the wood and you can see the which is what i was afraid of if i didn't have time to do more coats and then sand it and undo it you can see the difference between where i where i added the glass and you can see those lines they're not super bumped out so i'm pretty happy about that this will do for a year or two it'll protect it from the elements it uh that sprayer is not that was just a porter cable one from tractor supply which is definitely not a car sprayer the the material coming out of it was like globules i felt like i was putting on a layer of rhino liner to this thing except for the rhino liner would have made it look a little bit more consistent even because it would add some more thickness to it so now we just got to put her together and go do some glamping the guys are all running around doing different parts of the project got some longer screws some gaskets and there's still a lot of door hardware to pop on you got locks for each of the doors and i have latches for the side doors so let's get to it put her together sparrow's on her way back from vermont and we're gonna go do some glamping with this thing cue the final build montage [Music] oh look who it is little beep oh i missed you did you have fun with grammy how much fun did you have how about how much that little [Music] [Music] that work sparrow [Music] water [Music] [Music] oh don't let it fall back i got it holy crap probably [Music] check this out there's my hit through the rear-view camera i think it's gonna work i can see it crystal clear to back up and line my hitch up right over it that's so wild let's see if this works i'm happy with that i could have done it on my own but chris was right there so he was able to pop it right on aiden also hooked up you can't really see it very well but there's a little switch right there for it and there's a little plate right here and then the antenna on the back of the car and that second antenna is a cell phone booster thing i may have to turn off the cars stereo antenna if it interferes with it but i can't wait to drive through all the dead spots that locally or even further afield when i'm off driving around will i drop calls will i be able to have full signal or will i be able to game in the glamper as long as i have cell phone signal i can use my phone as a hotspot we'll see who's ready for adventure are you ready ready you're ready what you got it going on back there whole art project no she's shedding her skin oh oh you're making shed skin you're so creative well we did an epic amount of work and now it is time to go and have some fun with it what do you think honey let's go oh wait wait wait let's pray give me your hand oh break dear jesus to have some fun all right what are we doing first swimming swimming swimming and fishing at the fish at the same time we'll do lazy man fishing we'll set up the fishing poles and then we'll swim and let the fishing boats catch the fish for us i have a great idea what's that idea fishing in the water fishing in the water from inside the water while we're swimming okay let's do it i know it seems crazy but i think it's possible i've seen shows of real people actually doing it you've seen people do it so we can do it whatever you can do i can do better oh is that the saying okay so if they can do it week on camera then we can do it was teasing when i told todd that one but there's a lot of stuff we didn't get done that i wanted to do this time because i promised a little somebody that we're going to do something special today and i didn't want to miss and be that kind of dad because you already said i was the dad from uh mary poppins didn't you yeah the dad that works too much and doesn't spend enough time with their kids so that's why we're camping so he can prove himself that he's better than that what'd you say why will camping is because now so he could prove himself he's not that guy oh yes that's why we're camping that as we can prove that i'm not that guy that works all the time but as you can see we didn't make it over the wrap guy so we had to digitally add those when we just pulled in but i'll get over there and actually it works to my advantage i really wanted him on for the thumbnail but we digitally added that too so now i can actually sand this down give it another coat and get that good finish so it doesn't have that you can see all the wood grain difference and you can see the difference between where the epoxy stops ah snake there we go push in and turn there we go and now we can open it there so we got a lot of the stuff done in the back the microwave is fastened bolted in air fryer um those are strapped down the power packs and the coolers in there and we got plenty of stuff underneath there including the little stove uh the fire pit folding fire pit we're pretty set i wanted to put pistons in here i still haven't coated this so it needs to be sanded out a lot of stuff to do still i'm really happy with it being water sealed though and the sealer that i put on soaked right in so much i think the whole thing really needs that's epoxy coating see that it's all epoxy coated so now it's water channel so if water gets in there it will run right out the bottom and not destroy our stuff that feels so nice what do you think yep did i do it oh all right let's get our suits on and go swimming yeah go put your suit on in the car and you're gonna go put your food on in i'm just gonna get naked in the outdoors there's nobody around she forgets i'm a magician there we go let's go swimming we had a good time swimming she's quite the little ball of joy when it comes to playing in the water i don't know what it is about kids though you get them in the water and all they want to do is splash you in the face try to drown you maybe a little bit of waterboarding i finally talked her into something a little more calming trying to do my hair now wait i'm gonna try a new do i did her hair a mohawk a curlicue i got stuck in a tube for a little bit and a little bit more waterboarding and after a few more jumps and swimming around for about an hour she showed me how to get water out of your nose after which i finally got permission to do a little bit of fishing set up a big old sinker there big old worm i've been waiting to try one of these out for a while i've seen them on facebook and cast that out there see if we can't catch ourselves a big old fish all right assuming i have it set right i didn't read the instructions like any good guy knows you don't read the instructions but the line out there to the worm the pole is in the holder the fish pulls sets the hook pulls that trigger goes off flips up i gotta put a bell on the end because we'll be just over there all right let's go make some food [Music] huh i think it worked oh i got a fish oh i lost him right at the dock [Music] i feel like a million bucks after that swim what i feel like you feel like infinity bucks all right let's turn on the outlets and we got power yeah you going in let me turn the lights on lights are on i'll get the eye climb in there you go what about the seats turn the fan on so since kevin and his glamper had a fireplace ours doesn't so an answer to kevin's fireplace we wanted something to up our ambiance but not make it hot in here it was already like 100 degrees earlier today so use the muse laser to design up a cute bit of fire burned in some lexan cut out a box painted colored it added some twinkley lights and ta-da there we go we have ambiance what do you think that's better isn't that cool that's better than the fireplace oh yes and it actually makes it feel like it's warm in here yeah but but it and it is warm in here because it's hot a day out so we don't want a fire going anyways but we got some ambiance with our little fire twinkling thing [Music] ew it's like who would ever make a candy made at it that tastes like bananas that's disgusting i don't know i have no idea why i like goat simulator you gonna play this is the funniest game the kids love this game it's it's just like such a goofy little thing just like you goofy little thing look at him he's acting like a ghost come on call let's go what'd you do you licked him [Music] you play video games i'm gonna make dinner that screen worked pretty good a couple of those as seen on tv screens and she's got herself she's happy she's playing video games i'm gonna be happy i'm gonna do some glamping cooking i'm gonna come up with a better name for that doesn't sound very good like doesn't sound very appetizing lamp cooking just cooking i guess all right microwave broccoli got regular chicken and chicken wings i think we're gonna go with the wings in the airfryer noah was telling me wings stuff like that you spray it with oil and it comes out good so try some of that and then some french fries see if we can't do better with the airfryer than i did last time we got all the amenities we got the bug zapper for inside later just in case they do something sneaks through the screen we are just glamping it up i love them all right you watch that while i cook i didn't even get to cook yet [Music] i'm gonna make them way too soft okay we can't i'll have to make a deal with the kids if they want to do this they get to do it they have to do one real camping trip without all the glamping to one glamping trip and maybe that'll keep them from becoming too soft still need some more clever things in here like a uh weaving net i meant to weave a net for the inside in there up against the ceiling with some bungees so you could like out of bungee or something like that so then i can like tuck things up in the ceiling so we're not fully glamped up yet and i know uh kevin's he is insulated mine isn't yet it's not that we haven't needed it yet um but i will be insulating it and then i'll be able to literally go up north pull out under the ice be ice fishing next to this thing sleep in it it'll be pretty cool and i'm just gonna spray and coat my wings with some adobo before i go and cook them that's the ticket right there oh adobo one all seasoned up i'll throw those in the airfryer and give about 10 minutes i do like now that i've got this mounted up high here i have more space to work with and it's been double coated on here so it shouldn't absorb more of the stains but it still doesn't feel like the coating is all that thick so i do think i have to strip everything out of here one more time and just really go to town on the whole sanding and sealing it a bunch more because that'll prevent it from uh moisture sucking into it like you got all moldy up here and then after it's all sealed up even more with some a little bit more gaskets and stuff i'll add some dehumidifier packets you can buy them on amazon and i can like screw them to the side and hang them there's their bags and they suck the moisture out of the air that'll keep it when it's closed up from getting mildew into any of the surfaces or on the cushions or anything [Applause] sparrow turned out for a movie i'm so proud of her all of a sudden i was just like about saying like i'm gonna have to make a make deal with me so they don't turn soft and she's out there exploring proud dad let me make the french fries and we're ready to eat oh those turned out really nice really oh super crispy on the outside and try the same thing with the french fries because last time it was like they're without pizzazz when you're doing the air fryer there's no oil so i'm trying to just spray them with a little this spray on i got this thing a couple months ago i really kind of like it it's just a sprayer and you for oil and it works pretty decently oh my goodness that was the ticket these are these are in some ways like that was just so simple like i think that actually tastes better than my fry later hmm [Music] oh that's the ticket a little spray oil skeeters are starting to come out i think it's a losing battle playing with this one outside she started and stopped every movie i put on so far now she's on ice age maybe we'll watch willow traditional good wholesome scare the ever loving daylights out of her movie i remember being scared from willow when i was a kid and it was at school man there's a lot of mosquitoes all of a sudden boy am i glad i put that bug screen on i remember watching willow as a kid at school and being so scared of that two-headed two-headed thing and it was uh and having a i can even remember what we had for like treats we had teacher gave us i had a peach jolly rancher lollipop with and watched willow for the first time at school those are you adults that are the same age as me in the 40s you probably remember that watching movies at school when it was you know it's like every once in a while the teacher just wanted a day off from us little brats and so they'd be like and once a month i can squeeze in a movie and take a nap we're gonna watch willow all day kids all right see what she thinks of this [Music] chicken and french fries got him i got him we gotta make it bug free all right let me know if you see one all right we're good ready dear jesus thank you for this food and jesus amen what do you want juice box you don't want to watch willow no why everybody gets killed and the baby no the baby doesn't get killed we got wi-fi we can watch jungle cruise on disney um with the rock okay the legend of the tears of the moon and break any curse [Music] over the centuries many expeditions have been searching for the healing tears of how important the tears of the moon look at me i think i speak for the entire society that all began this is sparrow's favorite breakfast if you haven't tried this for kids or for yourself these are pretty good i don't have butter though didn't bring butter we'll see if this works [Applause] all right who wants a little egg and toast how's your goat uh riding going oh okay perfect all right you let that cool off all right i'm making coffee well we had a good night's sleep get the coffees on i'm gonna watch it this time instead of burning it and uh i'd say it's a pretty pretty successful part two to the build for me um didn't get the vinyls on yet and the stickers but uh that might work to my advantage i might try to do another coat of paint before i do sander all out you can really see the during the daylight there's even some light spots inside of the paint job here where like you can still see the primer and stuff so if i sand it out again and then do some light putty work to any really bad dips and dings and uh but because i did three coats in a row it still feels a bit like it needs like a week to dry like really dry hard enough to sand to get a good flat sand on it so definitely need some sort of a little net inside insulating it and still get more coats of sealer i think to merely be completely finished and uh maybe even another support in the lid here oh yeah and i didn't get the um i didn't get the locks on the doors i want to put the locks on the doors too so i can lock the doors when i shut those i don't want to put fenders on there because i don't want as i go down the road mud be flinging up so finding the right offenders online a lot to this um every time i've done the video in one of the builds so far i've spent over a week in the build process with all the help from everybody else i could say that there's at least 80 hours that was put into this this part two of the build and as you can see all the stuff i'm just mentioning there's still a lot to be done we got a part three coming at some point and a seven day island survival challenge coming next month yeah bye subscribe and hit
