Tik Tok Proves School in 2021 Sucks

happy damn when i was in the sixth grade the teachers went on strike and at first i was like this is so exciting i get to do anything i want to do school sucks we don't need it but it was cool until it stopped being cool the weeks passed by and you started wondering like what's gonna happen we're a little bit behind right now and i can't imagine what the current gen in grade school is going through right now because they've been through this for a year you're back in school now but it's not the same i feel like you guys got robbed and there's so many things that i don't understand about school in 2021 like i don't know what a breakout room is so today we're gonna watch tick tock so i can try to peek into the journey that is going to school now because i can't imagine creating a zoom background of me bringing the teeth this guy created a zoom background of him bringing himself tea that's the best idea i've ever heard in my entire life that is so funny the ways that you can be creative with this like terry's mom for example she has to do all of her work through zoom and so she's got like cool little backgrounds and she gets to be in space and stuff but like bringing yourself tea is so funny we did the dougie trend in our zoom class okay so the teacher has no idea what's going on and these guys are just they're just going in they're making a nice consistent little dance and i like how the teacher is low-key like whoa oh the teacher's mad okay so he's like guys turn your unmute buttons off what are you doing there's a quiz coming up i feel like this is something that i would have done in middle school and then in high school we would have like not thought it was the coolest thing to do there are way too many students doing little dances for their teachers and the teachers like they seem to be responding quite well to it but i think it's because the teachers know that tick-tock exists like this isn't the same thing that it used to be where the teachers could just scream at you like what happened in the classroom stayed in the classroom it's a situation now where if your kids are all going huh in unison you know that like five kids in the class are filming and that you have to be like good one i'm a cool mom okay so this guy's gonna teach us how he gets his classes attention shorty [Music] [Applause] [Music] my teacher would get in so much trouble well okay so i was raised by boomers so i feel like if i did this to my class parents would get so so mad is this guy a teacher it's hard for me to imagine that a lot of student teachers these days are younger than me now because when i was a kid like it was either like kid or adult and for adult in my head you were like 40. we did the wee trend in our zoom class it's the same guy he gets pranked every day that's very charming class very funny and i'll get back to work you have homework to do [Music] okay i'm tired of watching this teacher get owned one of my least favorite parts of being in school was being cold called like just pick the person whose hand is up don't pick the person who doesn't know because it's really embarrassing to not know and if the person has anxiety like you're just going to stress them out i got stressed out a lot by cold calling and this tick tock is about cold calling he just closes it that's what i would do too i'd be like oh computer died sorry rebecca why did you call on connor he wants to be left alone uh i like how in 2021 you have this option this guy's eating in class you seem a little hungry it's like too late oh my goodness the attitude this is a sketch there's no way the teacher would be like go to the office what office he's in his room also i've never understood the no eating in class thing like why is that a thing people should be able to eat in class why is eating in class eating during class can be a distraction to the other students when opening your hidden food to eat the majority of time you wouldn't think about the smell let off what i understand it being messy a lot of classroom floors are carpeted but like come on that is so stupid there's no need for students to eat a class because it could be a distraction who are these like easily distracted people i've never seen a kid eating something and went don't worry guys i'm just one of those special girls like you can eat around me that's almost as crazy as don't wear a tank top because it'll distract the boys like give people some credit okay i'm scared what is it oh no i mean that seems a little bit intentional to me but if not i would die my friend forgot to mute during clap this is my least favorite kind of tic tocs it scares me alejandra can you mute this is a mistake that i've actually never made whenever i'm on any sort of call i look at the mute button more than i look at myself and that says a lot there was one time i was on the phone and i forgot to hang up oh you know how like like right after you hang up you talk to your significant other about like what you really feel and like sometimes it can be dicey you don't want to do that this is called when your students find your tech talk account please i guess it's normal for everybody to have tick tock right it's normal it's cool oh she's liking them all teachers should feel free to keep it up me personally though if i was a teacher i'd take it all down unless it was really really innocent which let's face it i'm not good at that what you look like you've been through something mr rivera kept me after class today uh-huh he screen shared his screen and then played my tick tock and he goes we need to have a talk about this part and it was the part where i was going oh he goes we need to work on your dancing skills james teacher was trying to make a little joke there hopefully he didn't do it in front of everybody because that's embarrassing we have a kid here getting perfect attendance in the car at the dentist it still counts right are you allowed to be in your car driving during class i just look at where the camera has to be on i heard there's a lot of rules that you guys have that your camera has to be on and i hate that it's so foreign to me it like makes my head explode am i out of touch no it's the children who are wrong [Music] oh okay so this is a thing going around even if your mute is on the teachers can still hear it this is a feature for certain types of cults because i saw this magician we were all told to mute but the magician could take us off i feel like some people on zoom can do this and uh it seems that 10 million people didn't know that nelson the ta showed off some moves today in class i kind of hurt my leg like i'm like limping oh god [Music] today is not the day it is not the day guys have you seen those videos i can't breathe sometimes in life you have to take risks but this is too risky this reminds me of a story that terry told me one time where the teacher tried so hard to do something funny and she went like all in it was halloween she came in put on her little thing she was like guess what i am class i'm the denominator and nobody laughed everybody just stared at her and like looked around at each other [Music] moments like that they hurt me and i hope that we all collectively can just like forget about it for the goodness of the city going to class after you get your wisdom teeth out listen if you go to regular school you probably get to stay home that day but if it's zoom you could lay there with like with gigantic cheeks and still go to class i could watch tv when i got my wisdoms out you did not have to zoom in please wait did she just get like your uh yes oh my god the teacher's enjoying this rachel's right now i'm trying i'm mute rachel my mommy rachel stays right there please don't leave oh my god she's blasted get her off the poor thing why are you here rachel good question okay rachel your mom is obviously driving you why isn't your mom getting you off you're in colorado with my boys so i'm just happy i can make class today no no apparently not all right well have fun try not to catch code again what i don't get is how the person who was filming this class knew to film because like he caught the guy's intro so that makes me doubt the authenticity but that's pretty funny i would just feel like disrespected as the teacher if somebody did this to me and that's why i don't really like it this kid on zoom took a photo of me and used it as his background oh oh my god that is so fun this girl's like what that'd be such a funny way to just creep somebody out so badly i forgot my camera was still on i mean that's not great that's gone isn't it oh that's a really cute shot but i don't know if i believe it who goes on zoom and doesn't look at themselves i have to look at myself otherwise i get anxious especially if i was in front of my entire class but maybe i'm just delusional and most people don't do that anymore when you're late to online class oh my god to know on the bright side if it was real life you would say that in your head and not out loud yeah i don't like this whole like muting on you like there's there's an entire new layer of stuff that you have to worry about if you're going to school on zoom for me like only the people in front of me could see what i looked like that day everybody else was looking at the back of my head so i kind of had to make sure that i didn't have a cowlick and that i was looking presentable from the front with zoom everybody has like a perfect shot it's like you're all making a youtube video and you're all there for each other to see everyone can see your house lighting becomes a scenario it would for me because shallow i guess i'd worry about lighting i would worry about muting unmuting i would just like i would worry about so much stuff it's a lot i don't know how you guys deal with it you're chilling and there's a weird shark in the what's [Music] the tears like do you guys see what my daughter is oh that's his daughter oh my lucky i don't have a kid i just have a big black dog that really gets in the way sometimes when you wake up during class and it's just you and your professor oh my god oh my god i mean why would the professor stay in there with you if you were sleeping in class i could see why the teacher want your camera on just to make sure that you aren't too comfortable that you're not sleeping in class but i don't know i just don't like the idea of cameras being on although i guess you would abuse it if they were off i don't know this is such like a tragedy of the commons thing that that sucks yesterday my brother told my mom that i fell asleep during class and i got in trouble oh your brother's a little rat so it's time for payback get him i found him sleeping during school this morning so i decided to turn his camera on him okay that's a bit much i would say though haha loser that's what you get for being a snitch you know what they say snitches get stitches don't be a rat but that little boy he got it bad hopefully he's a cute sleeper a lot of guys are well guys that was going to school in 2021 i find it a little bit terrifying i don't like it here's hoping things get back to normal soon i feel bad for everybody that's got to be on zoom it seems like it sucks a lot of the adults i know really like it though because they really
