i cried at the end of this game. It terrified me more than any game he ever played because /this was not a game/
it was a huge metaphor for depression, suicide, loneliness, the expression of money being used for the things we want in our empty world, that money doesn't buy happiness no matter what. "
as a person who struggles with depression, suicidal thoughts, loneliness, this hit me hard. Just as you struggle with the emptiness in this game, so did Charlotte and the whole point was that the man Dr. Money could not buy your happiness with all the money in the world he got from the profits of this virus. Mr. Smiley couldn't smile, no matter how hard he tried. Charlotte never heard a word from you and held on for as long as she could but in the end it was not enough.
Your character was a person entirely cut off from the world listening to all the bullshit drivel those "it gets better" people throw at you. Trying to use money to push the pain away and make you happier but it never fucking works, ever. Your friends gone, the prison you live in in reality being the only way out. Its all a big metaphor. I sincerely cried for a long time after this video ended because it reminded me of myself.
If you struggle with depression and loneliness and you want to die, Do NOT do what the character in the game did. Being forced to wallow in your own despair and self pity. Survive. Wait it out. Allow things to get better for you. You WILL experience horrible things in your life but your ultimate goal is to escape that prison and ride that elevator down
God damn, this game was really fucked up
Just as a by the way, this is definitely not for the faint of heart.
I can tell that even by the comments you guys felt what I felt watching this, and so I wanted to say I gave it a go.
Even with knowing the outcome of the game, it didn't stop me from trying to find a way to stop what happens. In the end I felt just the same way Mark must of.
I felt so lonely but, the letters helped and hell I tried my best to get to level Twenty on all those games.. never the less I couldn't accomplish anything. Even with know the outcome I felt lonely again.
On a more serious note we should all give props to the creator of this game! Wertpol has also made a game that is the prequel to that game so you need to check that out too! Link is below!

It makes me so upset that in the YouTube comments, people were accusing him of playing it up for laughs and emotions. He's near tears at the end, he became that character, and the commenters were accusing him of letting fame go to his head and acting like PewDiePie. I hope he feels alright after playing this. i just want to hug him.
Forget Slender. Forget Amnesia. Forget Five Nights at Freddie's. This is the scariest game he's played...
I like how this game plays on the whole isolation aspect. You're isolated from the outside world with not idea what is going on. The only way you have contact with the outside world is from letters from people you never met or heard of. It also plays on the whole "all alone" aspect.
My god that was intense.
I get the feeling this is a new classic Markiplier episode/series. The intensity was real, questioning everything now. I hope this gets spread around.
People complaining that Mark shouldn't play sad games in the comments are annoying me.
