The Try Wives ULTIMATE Trader Joe's Taste Test

can we do it all together yeah okay okay ready yeah one two three stop [Applause] we're doing a trader joe's taste test we're gonna be trying wines snacks desserts it's all the most popular items and wackiest items from trader joe's some chips and some dips first rolled corn tortilla chips chili and lime flavor maggie introduced these to me [Music] they're salty spicy i like that they have lime in it takis is like straight like fuego this one has does a good job of like encompassing like some citrus i love they're thick too they're not uh they're not like super thin chips like i can't i don't really like lays that much because they're just so thin and they're all oil these are like all flavor and they're very crunchy and delicious these are delicious considering this is the first one i am pleasantly surprised i'll give y'all go to nine out of ten booties i'm gonna even turn it on again i love citrus i love spicy organic white truffle potato chips oh that is potent that's potent truffle smell okay do you guys like truffles i do but that is a smell i don't know about oh this kind of tastes like purple fries without the cheese sprinkled on top it tastes like there's something like on them i mean i know there's stuff on them but it tastes like filmy well i'm not mad at it i'm going for thirds i like these more than a plain potato chip so i'm gonna give it a six spicy cheese crunchies these look like flamin hot they look like flamin hot cheetos what's with cheetos they're more cheesy than hot cheetos yeah i like the texture more on these ones they're like a bit softer then hot cheetos are not as rough smokey that's like heavy spice there's like not much flavor it's just spice from oh and it builds it really builds yeah i think i'd rather eat hot cheetos can we go back to the first ones you need a palette cleanser yeah i need a palette cleanser although we haven't had these yet the ghost beverages i don't think i've ever had a ghost pepper they're really spicy but i like ghost pepper potato chip they just smell like normal hops chips [Music] oh it's building oh my i don't know if i could have more than five of these and when i usually eat chips i like to go through like three-fourths of the bags while i'm like watching tv and i'm like oh no i don't know if i could get that far with these which that wasn't as spicy as i had initially thought it would be uh-huh it's only like maybe two degrees spicier than a lay's flamin hot chip it's not what i would think a ghost pepper chip i figured like ghost pepper should come with like a warning that's like only eat one i give that a six that one that was probably my least favorite out of the bunch so i'm going to say uh three of them i'm gonna say five booties because i prefer longevity with my chips and that one it's getting stuck in my retainer and it's pita bites try it with the everything bagel everything but the bagel greek style yogurt dip i love everything bagels i love the everything seasoning too i'm like i put that on everything i'll take a hefty bite since i'm doing it for all of us there's a strong onion flavor in here it's like they took a raw onion and just chopped it up and put it in i think i would have preferred it was everything bagel uh cream cheese because the yogurt flavor kind of makes it less everything bagel for me seven boots wow yeah seven booties it's solid it's a solid it's butt crunchies look at the little smiley faces on those i know they're so cute well they look like french fries i think they're meant to be like dried french fries they're really boring that's super boring joe's get your money back man these taste like an old french fry that you dropped in between your seats and forgot about is very boring there's almost no flavor you also kind of want it to be a french fry and it's not so it's sort of that like in between i'm gonna give that a like a four because it doesn't hurt my feelings it's just it's just really not good yeah i'm gonna give it a three i'm going negative numbers this was not only a waste of their time and money our time and money it's a chip that's a french fry they're all potatoes this is just potatoes too these taste like old french fries you mean cold french fries that are perfectly crisp that i want every leftover french fry that i ever take from our restaurants it tastes like those they're perfectly well done oh my god but they're not well here you go there you go do you remember those potato snacks that were really small in a can shoestring potato chips those are delicious those are not this do not listen to this man version of those they aren't salty enough cashew fiesta dip cheese dip alternative i can't say i'm a fan of cheese alternatives but we will see is it cheesy i don't know how to destroy it i make nacho cheese out of cashews at home that's bad that's funky i think if you're going to eat that you should just eat normal cheese and deal with the consequences there's no way this is going to make your tummy feel better like if they didn't put cheese alternative on it i just said this is cashew dip then it'd be fine yes right yeah like it doesn't taste bad i'll give that a six out of ten i'm gonna give that like a two out of two out of ten really awesome yeah we have a vegan kale cashew and basil pesto dip um you have to put like the whole container for it to be good it just tastes kind of like nothing zach and i will pour this on pasta hmm that tastes healthy it's light i mean it needs more salt one more or something more garlic more honestly it tastes like pesto which is supposed to go on like which is like a pasta sauce it's not a dip maybe it isn't just pasta i think it's just pasta sauce chicken dip white chicken meat with cream cheese sour cream i can't have that you can't have that it's a very midwestern dip i think it's almost like i would expect that to be with some noodles and a casserole one of my biggest pet peeves is when people leave these on i can't stand it these are like hanging they're meant to come off take the damn thing off throw it in the garbage yeah ned he doesn't do it anymore he doesn't do it anymore i don't really like the flavor of buffalo i'm not a huge buffalo fan is it spicy it's a little spicy is it sweet it's not sweet i would just call this like dip it tastes like it could be crab it could be chicken i give it three three booties three booties three booties three seed beet crackers beet i love crackers i love beets fun fact beets make the pea red do they really yes they do these taste like beets don't taste like beets i like a taro chip they taste like a mini tortilla chip flax seeds and cheese wow those will make you poo yeah lots of fiber will give you good poops now we get dessert chocolate hummus oh there is chickpeas in this and it's the first ingredient that is kind of odd so is this like healthy chocolate there's garbanzo beans and chocolate powder i don't prefer chocolate dips i prefer chocolate bars chocolate cup i love i also like crunchy chocolate has a weird texture to it i think it's just because the chickpeas are in it two booties three booties i don't really i think i prefer to have nutella i think if if there was a flavor like a deep dark chocolate flavor it would be better but also give it a five that wraps chips and dip thanks joe thanks joe so we're gonna do a wine taste test where we're tasting the cheapest wine trader joe's and the reserve trader joe's wine we do not know which one is which and we're gonna try to figure it out ladies all right whoever poured this is my best friend i know it's a hefty porn that doesn't taste awful no that doesn't taste bad that's probably uh i mean depending on how shitty this tastes it tastes like a hangover it smells like ain't nowhere that's definitely two buck chuck that's yeah yeah that's chuck or they messed up this one tastes like uh alcohol juice yeah this one tastes like what you burp up the next day after drinking white wine oh it's gotta be right yeah no no 100 i'm really not a wine connoisseur i'll drink whatever is white and whatever it's called the same it's this one i think this one's the reserve i think this is money moves it's the other way around no way that's crazy i was about to vote the other way but maybe this just tastes like college to me i wouldn't drink either of them okay this is merlot merlot okay i don't know anything about red wine so i feel like it's got to be in the smaller glass because last one was in the bigger glass this one smells cheap this one smells better are you tricking us is this the tasteless thing it's the same it's just from the same bottle there are no red this one's the two bug chuck this one smells better but i think this is the more expensive one i'm gonna go with that one's more expensive okay so put the more expensive one in front okay sorry ariel oh [Applause] [Applause] i don't know you guys i drink a lot of cheap chardonnay it smells like cheese it smells like swiss this one's so cheap okay i think this one's fancy this one has a slightly more like minerally taste this one's smoother this one's really good tastes alcohol like it kind of tastes like a little shot of vodka in it she's fancy and this is capsule cap soap i think this one was a twist off and this is a cork why do you say because there's bits in mine that's foreign i think this one too [Music] cheers before beers oh that smells terrible just oh yeah this one smells like cat pee this one's that one's bad this one smells so bad i can't drink that that smells too bad it smells really gross this one's a bad one that one's so weird we're gonna go pour yeah you're wrong what's the name of it we can tell everyone not to do it it smells really nice so bad yeah don't drink that this one's fine i'm pleasantly surprised by the goodness of the two buck chuck ooh up next is dried fruits and veggies shall we start with inner peas so i was giving these to wes and then i ate one myself because i thought they were just freeze-dried peas they're not they're pea shaped chips i know honey i know oh it kind of looks like a fried um asparagus it just tastes like salt and starch i mean there's peas in it though it's green peas first ingredient so it must be freeze-dried chips there's no potato i'll give this a three i'm gonna give it a five they give me so much memories like i had them a lot in school yeah just to me it's it feels like you're trying to be healthy but then it's a step in the right direction just because it's creamy i think trader joe's need stops making these dried things crispy crunchy okra is it actually dried okra though those are actual okras whoa whoa i did not expect them to look like see this is what i expected of the peas oh i like oh this i would this oh yeah these are good i could wreck a bag of these oh great kidding me this is delicious you know it oh you love it oh mango i could eat a bag of these by myself so easily that's really good this is a really good snack i prefer the super super sweet ones when i was younger but i think these are great like the sugary ones these are the benchmark snack i'm gonna give these a 10. yeah these are pretty good let me give them nine i'll give them a nine booties um they are good for a full year in this bag coconut chips they look like lychee these are these do have sugar so coconut uh cane sugar also they smell like fart they just smell like you get like a whiff of a coconut like somebody ate an almond joy and then yeah like that no that just that just tastes like sugar i don't like this no me neither what is a texture i don't know it's like it's terrible space food and it tastes like it does farts slightly apart oh joe that's a zero oh negative negative three it's just a lot of coconut all at once and it's very hard a lot of farts a lot of fart up next we're eating savory frozen snacks maybe we'll start with the cheese and green chili tamale here you go ariel yeah okay i actually like here you go mom i i have had these and i think they are delicious they smell pretty good yeah delicious i like this that's good it's really good flavor the texture of the corn not great it's a little too mealy but you know not bad for like a frozen meal i was in college this would be probably the best meal i've had in a week you know the cheese actually looks good like it sometimes in frozen tamales it's a little scary looking but that one's yeah this one's good i'd give this a 7. what do you think crab crabless cakes yeah yeah should we do the i honestly they could just say jackfruit cakes i don't understand why the fact that they don't have crab in them is like a selling point just to make sure people like it's vegan vegan vegan i don't think anybody could think that these had crab in them they're like sticky it's fine i need some sauce or something i wish they were crispier oh they're just sad yes they were better yeah i wish they were better they're chewy and kind of like i can taste like very faint herbs they don't taste like tuna but they have like the consistency of tuna and they're heavy that's that's one thing i've had like really good jackfruit tacos so i feel like they're not living up to their potential two two booties zero booty the texture was upsetting jack fruits you could do better big soft pretzels that we did who left this on they feel like a pretzel before someone gets five great are you that at the theme park i paid 17 an amusement park for this seventeen dollars where do you go home i usually dip mine in mustard like dijon mustard i read this thing like 10 years ago that was like things a dietitian or nutritionist would never eat and her number one thing over like alcohol over dairy over anything was pretzels she was like they serve no nutritional value and every time i eat it i'm like but neither does chocolate cake milk i carry i love pretzels me too i could i could eat these for days seven booties yeah i was gonna say nine but now knowing that there's absolutely no difference in my mind no these are still really good i'm gonna give these yeah well maybe a nine because everything else has set the bar pretty low so i'm astounded that these are delicious these are the sweet treats sweet treats i love candy guys this one's open who opened this hey well well well i i saw some bags on the counter i didn't know it was for a video i didn't see this sticking out and i opened them up i hit three bears i know that's going to be a big problem so i just like to ritualistically apologize for my deep design wow we do have one serious question though yeah how many booties uh i'm gonna say those are a five they're fine wow well thank you for your time apology accepting apology accepted we will be talking about this for your performance review goodbye dark chocolate covered power berries yeah will flavored i've had these before they're super sugary yeah they're good i think power berries are just berry flavored sugar how about we try the organic dark chocolate peanut butter and jelly minis my favorite thing a package within a package everybody got the package within a package becky loves packaging yay well you know you want to keep your product safe from the product that you keep it in a reese's that's gone off it's a reese's with a little bit of jam it's a wrong reese's it's a wrong reason i like that they're dark dark chocolate yeah i wish i wish it was a reese's super sour scandinavian swimmers super sour super sour let's do it oh yeah let's do sour since we saw that chocolate yeah i know a lot of people that love sour candies i am not you guys both love them so much i am not one of those people i can't stand them i'm like why did you put sour on this it was a perfectly good gummy bear and then you put sourness on it do you want me to eat the sour off off of it and then wait and then you can suck the sour off and then i'll eat it yeah that'd be great i will do that for you i like them no no no no they're a good alternative to sour patch kids if i couldn't get sour patch kids i would get these i'm gonna give them a seven out of ten i'm gonna go with six because of the texture flavor is delicious though yeah tart fat chunks of sugar joe we thank you what are these we got meringues i don't think they're called meringues meringues that's what my mom calls them oh why isn't that noise yeah i know i know listen to this sound all right yeah am i supposed to chew it or suck it especially it melts in your mouth that's the best way to do it i hate this it tastes like hair it's a giant lucky charms marshmallow yes it tastes like no booties for me for that one i'll give it three booties just for the flavor i've had worse oat and greek yogurt sandwich cookies i don't like the sourness to them they're a little weird for me i think it's the yogurt yogurt i do like the flavor i actually do like the sourness i like that it's a little lemony all right whatever what's great about the odin greek yogurt sandwich cookie okay you're saying it crumbles that's a negative absolutely not also glass of milk this is like pudding you dunk this in there you're gonna drink you're cooking right you're just gonna have sand in the bottom of your milk this is gonna be sand in the bottom of your mouth all right last thing take the best for last mini gummy bears on a chocolate pool day cute it's white chocolate oh look at that baby look how cute they are they're swimming well well there's a lot of textures okay i was one of those kids that would ask for gummy bears on my ice cream even though they got hard and like inedible and this is kind of like that it's like nice smooth chocolate and then this like gummy bear that you have to chew for like a few minutes i like it well i would have this at the movie theater i don't prefer white chocolate but i enjoyed the gummy bears they were a good size i give it a seven i'm gonna give it a five out of ten five out of ten five booties solid frozen treats frozen treats frozen crisp coffee ice cream sandwiches holy [ __ ] joe the sizes got a little generous with the ice cream that's right i love coffee it tastes exactly like a weed chocolate bar really really yes chocolate tastes like coffee it tastes a little dank gone bananas [Music] dark chocolate covered banana slices no that's terrible this is real banana yeah this is good i would eat those 10 hours which is good ten booties joe nine fruit frenzy bars raspberry lemon and strawberry that's raspberry lemon strawberries and advertising well that is refreshing i stand that i want some chili with it and some like lime i like that it's smooth like you can you can get some popsicles that are too icy this one's a nice smooth popsicle yeah i can buy like nine booties i'm gonna give it to seven look at six we've got peanut butter blondies with strawberry filling topped with a crispy peanut butter confection i think um trader joe's really likes putting peanut butter and jelly in things like they're like people love peanut butter and jelly let's feed it to them it just tastes like a frozen peanut butter and jelly it tastes like you put a peanut butter and jelly in the freezer it just feels weird to me it's like gelatinous on the bottom i don't think i would crave this but no i think it's better than some of the other abominations we've had i'll give it a four raspberry and vanilla cream bars well that's a big color disparity i know i thought it was going to be darker okay sure that's joe what are you trying to get away with tastes ice creamy it's not as hard as the popsicle so you can tell these are like more even the raspberry side is more cream-based yeah i like it oh no i just touched it i thought there was wrap around it oh it upset me oh um yeah i'll give this like a like a seven it kind of looks like this one has way less cream here go for that that one's like way more mango concentrated it looks like what do you think ah ah it's like mango i like the flavor of the mango this is more popsicley i would totally eat this if it was just straight mango popsicle i like what you're saying but i think the cream adds something so but i actually like the creaminess of the other one better i'm gonna give this one a six i think i'll give it a six out of ten two i'm going with two i want it to be more like that popsicle that popsicle is good this is not good ladies this is the last one thank you joe thanks joe thanks joe so if you're going to trader joe's and you've only got so much foodie to spend ooh pretzels those corn and lime uh tortilla chips are my number one okra chips yeah those were those were a dark horse obviously mango slices oh yeah how'd they spend your booty on the okra yeah the okra
