okay Milo when we did the driving force with Dr Scott which was we spent two days doing probably 16 hours of footage or filming for it all about the ground forces one thing that we Dove really deep into and we got some really good science about is all the stuff that happens before even the club moves at all yeah so just talk a little bit about the importance of the trigger for uh uh great level golfers well the trigger is kind of what breaks the ice and gets the ball rolling if you try to start from static things get jerky off the ball a lot of things just don't function correctly the sequence gets out of whack okay so uh we're going to get more into like how to build an effective trigger and everything but I think one thing to look at is so Milo just hit a shot it was a good shot right yeah it was good I just chipped it though yeah it was just we we can't hit too far here but just to show the straightness more than anything we're going to try to disrupt your swing here Milo a little bit by hit a few shots for us where if we had a u on Gears you wouldn't move at all before the club head moves okay and if we had you standing on a swing Catalyst there would be no pressure shift before you move okay but then after that try to hit a good shot yeah but there can be really no motion or trigger at all okay I can now you weren't Hamming it up no okay no I'll try again I can hit it harder than that maybe but I don't know if I hit it straight yeah but you have to be a total flatline on the foot pressures and then a total statue on what would be gears I can't move no don't move that's so hard all right so we took Milo from about a plus six golfer to about a 11 or 12 real fast real fast so I think that is an amazing description of the importance of so kind of talk to us about what we found when we did the driving force not only with players like Matt wolf where we really see it or Gary Player but also in players like uh he has the data on Cameron Champ Adam Scott some people that you don't really see the move yeah but what's happening before the club head even goes their pressure goes left and then goes right and then the club head moves panime that for me a little bit so with with all of them you before the club head even starts to go you'll see pressure spike under the left foot and then shift to the right foot to get things moving right you won't see anybody who's really good go from actually static even though it doesn't might not look like their mass is moving around a lot what's happening under the feet is pretty significant yeah so maybe if there was like scales or you know obviously the swing catle shows the pressure they might look like this but actually if you could see what was happening it would be yeah it's significant all for a lot of them it goes 100% under the left foot show me that yeah so they'll be 100% pressure under the left foot so this foot's almost Airborne even though it might not look like it moves yep where for me you actually see my heel this heel comes off the ground and I kind of yeah left right let's talk about you specific spefically because we we have those numbers from um swing Catalyst when we did the driving force talk about the things that happen just in your feet before the club moves so it's 100% then is it any in the right and then it goes or or how so I go 100% into the left and then I shift into the right and I start and then my the the force under my right foot maxes out about right here for me okay yeah 69% give or take 1% right right right so there's always some Force Under My left but I do go 100% left before I even start going right now when you hit that first shot for our video it wasn't just cuz in with you unlike maybe like some more like static players even though they're all doing it I you can actually see this a little bit oh and um but it wasn't just your feet I was seeing you were doing some stuff almost like in your posture and and then the kind of the straightness of your arms and there's some other things that happen before the club head moves just in your in the rest of your system yes so I have a little shift of my actual mass but I also kind of push my arms away from me creating some structure yep and then I can move that structure away yeah that's kind of I see that in some of the old timers like Jack Nicholas really did it a lot yeah pushed like pushed away and then go right right right so yeah you know it's pretty common otherwise if I don't I this thing just is floppy so I've got to have some structure so I can move it okay gotcha gotcha so you know that helps does that like kind of increase awareness of where this is too maybe I don't okay right just feels athletic I feel like I'd be out of control if I don't do it so if somebody feels like uh I see this a lot with people that really get into the swing the YouTube swing stuff you know that come to B better golf schools my Lions golf schools people that are they're so into the movements they kind of think that the golf swing kind of starts here so somebody wants to uh start to figure out okay what would be the best trigger for me you know uh what would be some good drills or ways to to figure that out there's always step drills things along those lines I like little heel Taps so I little heel Taps um the triggers we see historically are anything to get pressure left some guys will do it with a little swivel okay for me I feel like I get out of whack when I have a little swivel so I like just a little like a Little Rock right that's something that that Scott showed us uh in our last school with Scott was that a lot of times when people think of this trigger they're almost always thinking of this Frankenstein monster walk trigger that Kyle burshire does but Scott said that I thought was interesting you can have equally have a trigger more like Martin borm where it's a more rotational trigger yeah so where one player might be like this this and even if you don't see it I mean it might just be little but in this shifting way kind of like you do yeah whereas there would be some other players that would be more push the ground that way that way so it yeah you know what I mean a lot of great players actually counter rotate so they go the they go the opposite way first before they go away so they go like if you look at Rory he actually no he goes the other way that way and then away like that yeah yeah yeah there's a little counter rotation then wind up all right so let's let's go into your heel Taps drill as a good way for people to kind of start to get some flow because if we go from like dead static nothing to moving you're like you're so be it's like imagine like Milo might have a chance to beat Usain Bolt over 20 yards if Milo had a running start to the to the start line and then got there right as the gun went off yeah yeah not 100 but 20 yeah I think I'd get him for 20 right yeah he'd probably Blow by me but right so a little heel tap drill so you're just starting with a little rocking motion heel and you just kind of feel how you go heel heel and then we apply that to moving the club so heel now we started the back swing now we add the the down part and then we can go do it one more time Mike wants to get this angle behind you to see your heels okay so I'm starting off just feeling a little left right right left now I'm going to go left right left okay so the first thing you do Milo is just kind of like this marching drill almost where we're moving our heels and then you feel like when this one hits the ground that's when the club start the club launches so then we do the marching drill with then now getting it started and then when other heel hits the ground that's when we get to start the down swing right healed it but it went straight wasn't bad I'll hit another one but how'd the flow look pretty good now one thing that I did when I first started working with Dr Quan and we can talk about this a little bit is that he was talking about you know Ground Forces so much that I kind of ODed on it and you saw that where I was really flopping like a fish you're how do we kind of get this flow but the kind of contained flow we don't want to see so much linear back and forth we want the almost immediately when you start linear we start winding mhm yeah that way you don't keep wandering out of what do you mean winding I mean wind it okay so it turns you turn you turn the linear into rotation almost immediately if you go linear linear linear then then you're just never going to get back to the other side right right okay so we're stomping uh sorry kind of marching yeah then the March becomes an a back swing and then continues to a down swing okay and then that whole thing is got to be a little bit more contained roasted yeah that was a good one okay great how I'll look at it he's got to see yeah it was okay it was like it was fine it was very straight great spin okay it was into the wind 277 not bad yeah total carry carry nice Okay cool so get some flow into your swing with the uh the caveat that you can OD on it so be sure that it's kind of you flow and then you have you have to like immediately balance that right the breaking forces have to be timed right if you just now you're off right if you guys are interested in a really deep dive on this check out the driving force it's something that we made two years ago here at Superstition Mountain with Dr Scott Lynn has a whole bunch of science drills and uh breaks down the the swing in a really interesting way and uh very actionable as well a lot of uh golf teachers have called me and told me that they they like to use that really as increase their knowledge and made them better teachers but even more just regular players that told me that they really like that and helped them a lot thanks for watching everybody go subscribe to Milo Li's golf subscribe here see you bye hey I'm here with Milo lines he is a professional golfer and one of the best teachers I've ever met for fixing people's impacts we did something really cool the last couple days Milo and put together this series called the impact Force tell us a little bit about it so what the series is is it's designed to help those who have really been spinning their wheels with the problem of flip yeah lifelong flippers yeah one of the most common issues we see this is the impact force that might be okay it's just we don't want to get back into this area here you're not going to see them hitting it with their handle back by their right leg and this in this shape it's going to be more inline at impact what's the advantage here is like the head if it kicks out on its own it it wobbles more it becomes unstable you're no longer really accelerating it it is now done accelerating it's doing its own thing when you're still Towing it to some level it's still stabilized in space so we wanted to put this together because people have really been frustrated by this they've been spinning their wheels for years and not seen the results they wanted so what we've done is we've created a series explaining why they flip in pretty good detail and then the solutions to those issues when I put my grip on which for me that's three Knuckles extension in my trail Rift my chest test have to turn quite a lot so those go hand in hand with a step-by-step process to follow yeah it's a really simple but really impactful go to the description to this video and you'll see a link for the impact Force I really think you're going to like it and at impact they will have some amount of lean
