so this feels like really behind you huh yes yeah yeah I don't feel like I'm trying to get the head of the golf club out in front of me okay gotta it's staying over to my right right and I turn into the ball thanks for clicking the video I'm here at Superstition Mountain with Milo Lions hey Milo hey how's it going this is an exciting video because I think if people understand this idea it it has really has the potential to make people better because the same idea also I think has had has made a lot of people worse and what that is Milo is a lot of times especially like when the Masters is going on people talk about Nicholas and some of these players playing uh these Fades you know Jake knp uh plays this kind of low fade and other things so sometimes people think that when they're hitting Fades or slices or whatever they're hitting it's like well I don't really want to even ever learn really a draw because I'm fading it just like the tour players are fading it so I wanted to ask you what is the difference between how regular golfers are fading it and then how tour players are fading it and maybe we can even draw a little diagrams or whatever really get people to kind of understand this regular golfers when they hit a fade generally they're hitting down and across so they're hitting really spinny Cuts so if I do this Mike so the path of a regular golfer so let's let's say this this uh T here is the path is what Milo it's uh out to in out okay so like that right yeah that's a lot but yeah okay yeah so and then the target would be like here we'll say guys okay okay so that's the regular golfer doing and then the face would be like what Milo slightly open relative to that relative to that so that's Square relative to it and that's slightly open Rel to so it's kind of coming in those are drastic that but yeah that's the idea that's what they that would be the ultimate slice uhhuh yeah what are so what is the fade that then tour players are playing generally they're going to have their path really close to neutral so pointing almost at the Target yep and then the face is going to be just barely open to that so that's dead square that be dead square like one degree yeah I can't even I can't even do that just small am like that yeah and then the other thing that the tour Pros have is their attack angles generally is going to be very close to neutral so level yeah or slightly up where a lot of times those amateurs when they're hitting down they're hitting down and left both okay all right let's see a demonstration Milo uh you don't need to do the the slicer one but let's let's see we have track man going let's see uh would that mean that you hit like uh you could hit Fades from the inside yeah okay so if we could like a something in the plus like something you see slightly positive so our Target our trackman's aligned straight at the red flag right okay so that gives us an idea so I'm going to make this swing feel like it's a little in to out I hit it dead straight club path was Zero it missed some of it it missed the spin but it was attack was 2.4 up path was zero and it missed the face let's get a a better examp let's get a better example I better slow down I'm going to kill somebody that cut that was a little heel fade that was good but again the the path will be pretty neutral there so club path was one and a half almost into out yep and the face to that path was 4° what does that mean minus 4 that was actually the face was actually him left that one faded because I healed it okay let's try and it misread the when you miss it on the middle of the face it it it makes it shut it makes it shut more than it actually was oh I see so that I don't believe that number exactly but I hit a fade out of the with an in toout path right that was a little better it's hard to hit it soft okay so your club path was basically Square there you go face is open 1.3 so that shot you just hit was about what Milo if I was trying to make my diagram about exactly zero path zero going straight at the Target yep and the face was just a little more than a degree open so that's totally square and your face was just the other way no other way just slightly open Square and it was slightly open like that yeah just barely barely yep okay cool and whereas most other people they start getting the path out here and the face really open to that yeah yeah and then hookers would be what hookers would generally path well from the inside and that's square and then the face just starts getting too closed okay like that Yep this is going to go into the traditional almost YouTube slice fix video then so if somebody is said because I've heard uh David far and other people have said that you can go in order to get to a good golfer you have to go most the pattern usually is slicer then hooker and then you take the hook out and then eventually you might become like a Tor fader yeah so if somebody has diagnosed themselves to be like okay I'm like on step one of of that I'm like slicing it coming from the outside in with an open face what's like a good way to get them hitting the ball better so first thing is we I almost always will fix the face first and then blend that with path so I so I'll teach the player most of the time when they're coming from the outside their wrists are working more like this okay where that face is actually opening and working across the ball yeah so I'm going to have them feel how to get that face closing and the center of mass or the head staying back behind the hand so they can swing it from the inside and once they can overdo that get that coming too much from the inside then we can start doing some things to add some rotation to zero it out get it more neutral so uh let's try that I'm going to get my driver you're going to help me with this we're going to make a little longer video of this all right Milo so uh I'm not I'm more of a hooker than a slicer if anything but I think uh these fundamentals would really be for anybody as far as getting the the hand set more correctly and getting yourself in a position where you can rotate more Y is that right okay so let's figure out let's hit a few draws start start to the right how was that strike seven out of 10 7 out of 10 yeah okay we got good path face a little bit closed still closed yeah yeah all right what do you want to see me do I want to see you actually make a ball start right and draw okay good so that one was good okay what was the difference you got the club path way to the right that time 6.5 into out okay attack angle was really up face angle was slightly open but that's matching up pretty good you hit the center line so okay pretty good now once we can feel that path from the inside now we can just start getting the left side out of the way a little bit more to stabilize I would like to feel pass more from the inside then then I can I want to feel like I can leave it behind me more uhhuh like you do and then trust that it'll be there without having to punch at it yeah so like this Milo bigger so I get a better more Inside Out path by a bigger turn and do that yep okay mhm four in out that's fine okay so now yeah I want you so I'm kind of getting the in to out but my my start line is still pretty is like left so you're giving it that so instead of feeling like we're coming from the inside and then you're flashing it shut I want you just to feel like it's coming from the inside and we just turn it into it boom there you go T fade is a way more patient so it's almost the same amount in out right but now the face is just slightly more open okay6 which is perfect there you go you want to be like about halfway here yep that'll make it come back all right so if people are watching this and they because this is something that I Mike who uh coached with me at at at this college he was the head coach I was the assistant always telling people like you're rolling it over you're rolling over the ball and then Lee who I work with a lot say no you know it's like a hook where you're kind of hitting the outside of the ball so what's a good way to train this kind of hit impulse out of that and cuz that actually went faster that it was 110 swing speed so I was faster than my full effort one so it was a little more effortless power yeah so the unwinding of your wrist was more of a natural occurrence of physics Unwound it for you versus you applying Force to it okay so what I like to have people do is hit a lot of shots where you feel like there is no release really the release happens but you don't feel like you're doing anything you just keep moving around the corner no twisting no throwing okay so I'm going to hit one with that like really big level of trust that that it'll show up you feel like your right arm's asleep or or I do I don't feel like I use my right arm okay like if I put a muscle sensors on you we would see that you use it a lot probably I use my right Peck a lot to kind of close this Gap but I don't use my right wrist and hand a lot okay I gota all right so what do you want to see me do here Milo same thing as the last one right which is Big turn the big turn helps me go in to out yep um then kind of make my move and just trust that it'll be there let this let the mass of the club stay to your right and just keep keep getting around the corner okay I got you and there's a perfect fade yeah that was really good cool and he speeds up see that is it really yeah it's 111 298 carry wow good there's your almost a perfect like almost dead straight yeah right on the line the CL path almost match yeah and it helped my spin too that spin was perfect yeah when you DW that driver sets up good for a fade for you every time you draw it the spin dropped under 2,000 and it was no good yeah yeah it starts snapping yeah all right mil so we learned how to hit a tour fade and what the difference is between a normal person's fade and a tour player's fade but uh kind of what's Universal here Universal is that the center of mass of that Golf Club needs to stay back as our bodies get out of the way whether we're going to draw it or fade it oh okay okay well let's do that that we're going to send it out on a final thing Milo you're going to hit a you don't do it often but you're going to hit a draw you want me to hit a draw yeah and then and then hit a fade and we're going to see how both of those neither one of them cuz I think sometimes that's what happened when you were at first asking me to hit a draw a lot of people they'll say oh it's a tennis forehand so you kind of get this that a draw but that's a hook oh okay like over exaggerated draw right right so kind of so with both these swings you feel like this go into your swing like a slow motion down swing stop there so yeah so this feels like really behind you huh yes yeah yeah I don't feel like I'm trying to get the head of the golf club out in front of me okay got you it's staying over to my right right and I turn into the ball I think that like a lot of people if they did that they would be scared that they would just top it like that the ball the club would never get out to the ball it will yeah right because the energy of it yeah it's physically impossible to keep this over here if I start to turn that wants to shoot out got I just don't want to apply a force that gets it out too soon okay all right so let see the the normal fade the tour fade fade from the inside or fade from down straight down the line M pretty that was a perfect one so the path should have been just slightly in out yeah 2.2 to the right with the path and the face was 1.6 to the right so that matches up make a little cut great okay so now so I'm going to hit a draw now and a lot of people think when you hit a draw that they have to really roll that face over to be able to hit a draw like they're hitting like Bubba's hook out of the trees I'd say sure it's going to draw but that's going to be overdone and it's going to actually hook so for me to hit a draw all I'm going to do is just I move the ball back one ball in my stance so I catch it a little more from in to out and I the face will still be slightly open relative to the Target but it'll be slightly closed to the path Y and that'll make that ball draw hair okay shall I hit one please do okay not my favorite shot right and I hit it pro probably dead straight wind's holding it wind yeah yeah the it just held up on the Wind it'll be about dead straight yeah so the the club path was five and a half in out just just like a one yard draw yeah but the wind wind held it up there that's good I don't think we need another one of those okay and then like in a tournament Milo like if you're playing tournament golf I never hit that shot ever ever yeah so if if there's a hole that's going right to left a lot you'll just hit like your three I can draw my three-wood really easy okay my driver is set up to not go left so yeah yeah I don't ever hit cut off that side of the I just don't use that side of the golf course you guys got all the tools you need to start hitting tour Fades if you want to see more information about Milo's stuff go to his YouTube channel I think is the best way to First connect with Milo Milo and I are working hard on this new project we have coming out called impact force and it's all about getting a better lagged impact and uh some crazy before and afters really has been uh one of the most exciting projects we worked on I think you're going to like
