on a repo for a older Ford Econoline van actually it's listed on the title as a club wagon and once you've picked up enough vehicles in your lifetime you start to know what vehicles look like based on the year make and model so this should be a big boxy man with oval windows based on the year it's supposed to be gold and the license plate on it is a custom plate so it makes it sometimes a little bit easier to spot what we'll do is we come up with the address here though you can see that I was actually out cruising around on my motorcycle and I tagged the vehicle with a GPS transponder allows me to be able to check more addresses more efficiently by cruising around checking 1015 address this is going in and out of apartment complexes tight areas things like that I can check an area more thoroughly on a motorcycle plus if I go into a hot area where they're expecting the repo it allows me to basically get in and out of there pretty much stealthily you know trying to get in and out of an area with a truck that looks like this with the auto loader on the back or even if you're in a you know truck that has a sneaker lift that's hidden up underneath the bumper you got people that have been repo'd before they know what they're watching for and you go into these hot areas it's hard to cruise around and not look suspicious and draw attention to yourself so on a motorcycle they just never even see you coming carry a couple GPS transponders on me on the bike and when I find one of my units I just tag it and walk away and then I can just look on the GPS as soon as I get back to my truck and if they've moved then I can follow them there's our van right there so what we're going to do is turn on our sunglasses here that have the DVR built-in and get those recording in case there's any kind of contact with them and will go to work first we'll stick the camera on the back of the truck so we can get what happens from behind urmm well picking it up you got a title loan on it they hadn't been paid I don't take money I'm just the one that picks up the cars you're welcome to go down there and make payment arrangements and once you get a fifth and you can get it back okay amen Hey please yeah when he tells you you can you cannot take the court order I think what you're quite referring to is if the person homes the premises angel honey and I did I've escaped and the police came police in there I'm not going anywhere so you don't have to sit in the truck I'll sit here and wait for you talk to them I just get away from here so but you don't have to sit in the truck and then but I need I need you to tell me 50% again don't take it I'm not late this on the 18 is tomorrow okay the last payment was made back in February on the third I make it regiment with that he the police's are coming I won't talk to her because we can't talk to her about your loan oh it's always exciting when the neighbors get involved so we will just pause this until something else happens and probably restart the video once the police are on scene so we can show what's happening right now the guys just sitting in the truck and walk away until the police arrive to ask him to remove himself from the vehicle and we'll go from there planet we are just repossessing the van we had it successfully off of the premises and what neighbors advised him to jump in the vehicle to avoid us from being able to never get there the lady that just told you she's a neighbor he's trying to claim that she had a similar thing happened to her a friend or something and trying to cook a lot of me and she's saying there's been a breach of peace and I said there's not a breach of peace of a police car on scene and she said oh yes anyway so she's got her story and I was going to argue the wall with her so if the legal repossession he is default on it I double-checked just before coming up and repossessing the vehicle that it was still in default that he hadn't asked you know maybe gone in and made a payment and so I verified that me as an defaulting any paperwork's right here if I got in the cab of the truck for me for you absolutely knows who we are my tools can never kill my golden 15 to the time again you can vistas are really not will pass today it's becoming smarter definitely good luck do you agree that your last payment made to the the other help suppose I'm cooking on March 3rd okay understand this you were late as of the end of business that day you understand that 30 days after you due date you were late and in people that's what I'm saying it's gonna great and when I always $500 over there you know and there's $500 okay so that man works $5,000 for them I said if I take a test okay I understand you know and everything that's in the van will remain there until you come and get all even gave me an opportunity now to make out what you'd like to probably write sure you bet well okay yes I was in distributive but you're telling you couldn't get anything no he can we I will give him that up as long as it's peaceful if it turns on people we have to leave all right so we're almost to the impound yard one of the things you want to watch for after a repossession especially one that goes down like that where there's neighbors that are trying to be vigilantes and get involved is to watch your sticks make sure that nobody follows you because a lot of times they want to do is I want to be a hero and be able to go back until we know where your vehicles being stored in case you want to go you know what get it back or break into it and file a claim against us or I've seen everything in the book but I always want to make sure that nobody follows you and you want to have a set pattern that you always take getting back to your yard it takes you through a residential area and there's been times and I've done this exact route and sure enough I get about I don't know a mile or so from the yard and that's when I can tell that somebody is on my rear end and I'll pull over and they'll try to pull over to and watch and if that's what happens and they just sit there and you know you're being followed you call the police and you tell them what's going on and get an officer from the earlier in out there and the points vehicle out sometimes they'll run and leave when it's the cops show up other times the cops are successful in talking to them and getting them out of there but it's a safety factor to make sure that you're not followed back to the yard because people will try to break into the vehicle break into your yard which is a liability for all of the collateral you have that yard when you're bonded you're on the hook for all that stuff that you store in your yard so security is of the utmost concern once you leave the scene like that and even though I've got a camera that watches this 24/7 on DVR it's better just to make sure nobody there aren't any incidences and that they're avoided whenever possible so I'm going to do a quick walk around on the vehicle make sure that we have documented proof that there's nothing wrong with it and then it arrived here at our yard successfully with no damage so we just do a quick walk around in the obvious damage will be picked up on the video and then that way if they come back later and try to say that I put that scratch right there I can show that I didn't put that scratch right there that it was there when it left the scene of his house you know if they want to blame me for all this rust on the bumper then you know I can show in video footage that no that rust was there you know the trim that's missing from right here they could say all that trim was there when you repo'd it no it wasn't you know just ripping the seat for everything stereo you know hey there wasn't a factory radio there there was a $10,000 sound system in this piece-of-shit vehicle you know and I could sing all there wasn't you know because I've got the person this is what technology is doing for us is keeping me giving us the advantage back in our court when these people try to take us to court and say that we did this patent the other you know cracks in the windshield so windshields just split the hell you know and I've had people come back and try to say I cracked their windshield repossessing their vehicle got a call just today from an insurance company someone's making a claim that we damaged their vehicle to be repossessed it well we've got the video to show otherwise so if you want to fight about it and I guess we're going to go to court and our attorney will counter sue for damages and and lost time in wages and we will get it every time because we're doing our job so we'll get this vehicle drop we'll get her put in the yard and we'll go on to the next one never a boring moment in this job you
