America's favorite first-run comedy has taped before a studio audience of very strange people and finally a sad note Moss tiger midnight to dawn radio personality on WKRP for the past 23 years passed away yesterday aside from his radio duties Moss was a practicing Buddhist and collected state license plates with heavy heart this is les Nessman reporting what's the happiest sound a man can hear hi honey I bought a whole keg of bodyslam malt liquor [Music] Shawny well my goodness what I heard about moss I thought I'd slip over the border and pay my respects oh that's very nice of you John oh this is a new morning man razor D hey I've heard a lot of bad huh ignore it we'll get along fine hey I'm sorry about your friend yeah how did he go well um he he went up on the roof to smoke a cigarette and uh he fell off oh well actually he hit on the marquee of that theater on the 4th Street side and then somehow an air-conditioning unit came loose and fell on him that knocked him off the marquee in into the street that's where the bus hit him how he would wanted to go baby if you've ever wondered wondered what it became of me on the air in Cincinnati Cincinnati WKRC [Music] town to waste so why don't you have awake and somebody ought to call my mother well I can do that I met her once at a NASCAR race I'd like my ashes to be scattered at the Mill Pond in Eden Park Johnny we'll possibly passed him the only thing that they can figure is that you must have gotten mixed up with a big shipment to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Pittsburgh what are we gonna do now well his mother's coming in later for the services tomorrow what we supposed have a wait tonight what are we supposed to do for Ashes [Music] very nice glad you could make it in time my pleasure John moss played mob Ricker's win if you would Wow as you all know Moss Tiger requested awake in his memory and this is it I'll never ventilate before what are we supposed to do get drunk well last part of it sometimes I think what we're supposed to do is celebrate mosses life mm-hmm enjoy the things that he enjoyed remember young with happiness rather than sadness well like I said everybody had it all well boss was boss I play away brother yeah he enjoyed good cognac and good cigar got a hell of an eye for an out-of-state plate [Music] so why don't we all share our feelings here are our memories of moss tiger the man oh okay stand back I used to be a monk well I didn't know moss as well as some of you but uh I relieved them every morning since I've been here and I've gotta say that uh he never said an unkind word to me you never really said anything to me you know that's why I like them that's real nice razor we're off to start here somebody else hmm he called me once mmm that sounds good why'd you tell us about that okay um well it was late one afternoon and he called and I said Debbie Cappy like I always do really and I said yeah who do you want to talk to and he said this is Moss tiger and I just wanted to know what time it was I miss how the wrong number no and I said no you don't it's 4:15 [Laughter] but in a really nice way somebody else well uh uh I'm kind of like raised I really didn't know the guy all that well let's see yeah loved his music your great music and when he would come in to relieve me he was just always so very very pleasant however he did spray the entire area down with Lysol oh yeah I did hear well he was a very tidy man does anybody have a problem with we think about this man gosh still owes me money this was a man he had a life and that's what we should be talking about yah man I think you've got us a kind of a disadvantage here mas was such a private man that you never really got to know at least I didn't I don't think he wanted anybody to know him since I sometimes feel the same I always respected that yeah I guess maybe I was Ross's best friend I didn't know him either oh man was a loner it was an all-night man no he's awake we're asleep we're awake he's asleep I mean there is some avoidance here he chose to live on the flip side yep but for 23 years five nights a week he was in that booth six hours at a shot alone just talking to thin air playing music for whoever might be out there awake alone mas got them through the night see each shared himself with them through his music and I think maybe some of them were a little less lonely for that Moss used music to make us feel connected and that rates pretty high on my playlist so smooth segues brother wherever you are I think you may be in Pittsburgh [Laughter] [Music] some buy on your ball you gonna leave some high on your ball when it's late at midnight oh man they've come slipping in the room need some back what happened to the water the city had to drain it some kind of toxic spill you know boss I was really lucky enough yes I take some comfort man [Applause] [Music] that's it fellow babies coming up on 6 a.m. and once again we have defeated the forces of darkness together for those of you who may be missing the late Moss Tiger you're not alone we're still rocking on the mighty krp where the razor man is standing by to sharpen up your day this has been the night doctor on duty with hard music for whatever ails if the day doesn't go your way we got all night to make it right I'll be back with you again babies making my rounds but only when the normal people dream hey you do nice work man thanks I know I know you've been listening to me since you were a little bitty baby well I was quite a bit younger ya was in San Francisco ah I worked that town once I think yeah you did yeah my mom used to listen to you oh yeah said it the reminded her of the old day the old day yeah about you dad Oh mr. invisible well um I don't know you see I never met him he was gone before I got here mmm so momma wall is a rocker oh yeah mostly the dead dick she's a dead head went to all their concerts oh oh yeah yes left she said I was even conceived at one of them backstage during one of those long Jerry Garcia solos she wasn't one of those that liked to dance right Fritzi in front of the speaker's did she have a lot of long red hair she wore a lot of tie dye that's the one she could have been why better get alright bye-bye [Music] and now a link breaking story Cincinnati's Chinese community is in an uproar over the strange disappearance of the late Fung Yi whoa mister boy local golf pro was to be buried today however his body is missing the funeral home cannot explain how they ended up with a quote beat-up white male unfold instead of a small elderly Chinese man with a low handicap the identity of the white male also remains a mystery hmm
