why haven't we seen more of you two together it's a pairing it really is it's a match made in heaven now and jackie chan yes jackie chan uh yes what i haven't done that once i'm very similar i'm on a red carpet i don't think so no have you i've seen you show up at things not much to be honest but you've you've done posh things you've you've mixed with roy you've met the queen haven't you i have met the queen yes i have my queen at um i think it was a uh one of those receptions for people in the arts you should have been there graham funny i watched you were overlooked yesterday yeah you know what i was amazed at with the queen and she's very tiny which is something for me to say because i'm quite short and she moves as if on rollerblades she just slides up like that is there's no actual walking's going i don't know what's going on under there she might be on casters but as she comes to where you are the group where you are uh for a start you have to you have to tussle with that whole idea of will you curtsy weren't you curtsy will you curtsy and i decided before no look kurt's seeing it's no i'm not going to bow down before roy i'm not going to and then immediately you do [Music] immediately who cares you far too much too low really revolting and then of me i mean and then and then the queen says there was a group of about four of us around her and she says a very small thing you know so are you enjoying the evening and everybody goes like this i think people are just nervous are they eager to please don't want to be beheaded or something so the queen i'm sure must think that she's a great comedian or something that's all she sees is people fawning and laughing at everything she says i was in hong kong i remember and a long long time ago my english is so bad in that time uh remember when queen raise your hand use your hand otherwise you're standing here blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and you're right what your royal highness yes yes yeah i don't have to remember your royal highness right highness dennis what are we playing around oh queen's coming there what should i say then i see the queen stop stop stop so quick oh okay then when she come you're right admit like you immediately bow she's stand still standing there the people into the jackie center oh she keep talking to me my head is empty i don't know what she's talking about [Applause] [Music] of course i'm so happy just standing here more than like a three minute five minutes but i just don't go away please don't talk to me anymore i don't know how the ends are back but you have to did the queen go chucky chad do you don't ask me to tell another maggie smith story no every time i see her she said you've not been doing me again now you've done her again [Applause] judy dench tried to tell a story about you and her at buckingham palace do you remember this story in the throne room yes yes it was a very posh occasion every occasion at buckingham palace is posh husband i was sitting next to the queen's late um sister vanessa kirby uh princess margaret so the banquet was over and you were free to go around and there was a sound of music playing you know perhaps there was a dance going along so judy and i went along the corridor and into what we both felt was a vaguely familiar room there was a little band playing and we had a little twirl around the room and nobody else there i said i think this is the throne room you know where you got made a dame and i got made a knight and you know the two thrones that for the queen and her concert i said but where are they she said i don't know let's have a look so we we we went on dancing around around the corner found ourselves behind the band and there behind this sort of partition was the thrones oh wow so we sat on them it brings out the worst in your buckingham palace i i was doing an event there a sort of part of a concert and i was given a dressing room which was it was a guest room at the front of buckingham palace and you looked out of the window you were right next to the um the bulk the balcony yeah and i thought well i could just go out there and have a [ __ ] and there i am looking down the mark and suddenly there's a minor searchlight on me and below there's a policeman saying syrian don't forget you're in buckingham palace well about six months later i'm going along to get some medal on this occasion uh and as we came through the gates there was the same policeman he said oh not you two again because who came to the set of game of thrones the queen yes in your face yeah we've got a picture of her there she is she looks so unimpressed they asked if they kept on a pusher to sit down on the throne and we kept getting told the same thing which is she's not allowed to sit on other thrones fictional or otherwise there's there's a thing for that but i'm afraid did you talk to her i did yes yeah and she was delightful but what did you talk about what not much she asked me a question and i said yes ma'am and then she moved on but now we know we have to know what did she ask you could mean anything and what do you do on this production you said yes then i said yes and she said her wonderful and moved on and then they asked her on a certain throne she said looks very uncomfortable you've met the queen i have yes and here you are getting uh it's an mba you got i've got the nba there we go so now she knows right yeah did you know anything does she know anything about it yeah racist yeah i turned one down i mean i wasn't strictly offered it but i just thought i'd nip it in the bud called liz up and said i'm not interested did the queen did the queen know anything about formula one she actually did when she was talking to me there and she said we watch you but the best thing is i got invited back um like a year later for lunch you made an impression of the group there was about there's about eight of us and we i turned up after the brazilian grand prix came back and um walked in saw the the seating plan and i was sat right next to her so i was kind of excited you thought you read yeah i was like this is cool yeah so i sat down and she was to my right and i started to talk to her and she was like um she's like no you you you speak that way first and i'll speak this way and i'll come back to you [Laughter] so she spoke to the guy did she have cards like me i don't have your questions i'm talking to the woman from that charity now she spoke to the guy next to her for like five five minutes and then she spent the rest of time talking to me yes you wanted it was really really cool but now uh you know ob you should say you and you've got ob now who gave you years charles charles charles and now the obe of course can you i bet you can guess so maybe you can guess what was the tabloid headline when you and mcgregor have the one can i be it will be yes yeah it had to be easy it writes itself i liked it i really liked it when you go when you go there we first of all i got in the i i went with my wife and my two middle kids and um we got in the we got a taxi and now we've got on the taxi i'm like watch this watch this i went buckingham palace please and the driver just moaned for the rest of the time you know he said what have you got a special day is it and i went well actually yeah i'm getting i'm being given an obe today with my little kids i was all proud of myself and hopefully them for me and yeah yeah and he went um oh yeah we have to pop they don't even let us out the car for a pee he swore in front of my little girls and moaned the entire journey i was just like conquer you and don't let him spoil your day don't explain it and here here you are in your kilt on the day yeah it was really great and um when you go in you have to separate from your guests and they go through to the hole and then you spend the time up in this big room with all of these amazing people different people from all walks of life you know a lot of servicemen and women people from all the different forces but also some straight there's a man there a wee old man and a kilt who i went over to speak to him he was getting an ob or an mb for services to bagpipe music i mean i don't [ __ ] say services to backplate music i've done raw variety twice services to motorcycle riding or something an old lady yes have you you've got one no what no how am i going to get one oh yeah yeah got it yeah can you quickly tell the people the story of christmas oh well which is amazing i did a line-up for a show once and uh it was a there was a royal presence and um the prince of wales said um apparently you live in norfolk is it right i said well i do have a place he's not not far from sandringham in fact which was the where the royal family had a house he said oh wonderful i said you should come visit me for christmas um he said they'd be loved it loved it lovely idea of course i thought they're more about it and that christmas i had a real house full of friends about 14 people all squeezed together and i'm a very early riser i'm very much a lark not an owl and so i was up and i was making eggs benedict i remember distinctly and hollandaise sauce is a very you know you have to concentrate you get the the melted butter into the egg yolk you have to really thin steady stream the phone went so can somebody answer that please somebody whether they're all the 14 people showering shagging whatever they were doing and nobody was i'm sorry oh i picked up the phone yes and when i speak to stephen fry please and i said yes this is he and he said this is prince of wales here and there's my brain a little part of my brain sent a signal to say oh [ __ ] off rory [Music] another part because you always know when it's someone real another part just overtook it and went oh hello sir he said i was wondering about taking you up for that offer for tea i said well that would be wonderful when would you like when it's convenient for you he said well what about new year's day so i said well that would be fine so i kind of put the phone down and thought right i went into the hall and i shouted a bit like rick in in the young ones house meeting everybody's appeared at the top of stair heads and i said the prince of wales is coming uh for tea and then everybody went oh my god and then there was this fantastic side um which i could have um i mean i could have photographed i should have done of everybody she was lori hoovering the carpet so we're all making tea or getting ready everything's the fire's burning everything's completely ready and we're all peeping out to the curtains like pathetic children like that all these cars passing minutes and then eventually two cars chris crunch everybody's disappeared except me so i the doorbell goes and i think i must play it cool otherwise you'll think i'm really uncool and so i count to 15 and the bell goes again and i open it and he goes oh hello i hope you don't mind i brought my wife and there's princess diana comes out to the shadows who's hello stephen hello and everybody comes down um and we have this tea party and it's fantastic and she's wearing cowboy boots which suits very well he's not wearing cupboards which suits him very well and it all goes fantastically everybody's having a great time um and then they go and he says thank you everybody says goodbye and she holds in the doorway and she says i'm sorry we're going but i'm quite glad we're going early because it's spitting image on tonight and i'm going to watch it in my room they hate it of course but i love it that's that's her honestly you were very close to prince diana but even before that you uh i think you played at prince andrews 21st yes um at windsor castle yeah yeah um and that was a very nervy experience because ray cooper my percussion player and myself played and suddenly you looked in the balcony these are all gold chairs and suddenly they fill up you think oh god and we played and i came down i changed and i was in a ballroom with a band and diana spencer she wasn't prince charles's wife and she said do you want to dance so i can't dance anyway but we did as foe charleston and then we went into dinner and then it was a buffet dinner and then princess anne said should we go to the disco and i said finally that's the quietest disco you've ever heard starts with princess anthony and you know what i was born in a counselor she said very surreal and then the queen came in and she said can we join you and i said to say no [ __ ] off right [Applause] and they segued into rock around the clock by bill haley and i thought this is ridiculous because the queen's going like and it was one of the most that to that point surreal moments of my life because you know it after being born in a council house in pinner and you think i'm remembering brock around the clock well haley you would the odds of you dancing with the queen at windsor castle [Music] you
