Trinity you know above our door in our Sacred Heart Chapel the middle door is a very traditional ancient Russian icon that depicts the three persons of the Trinity as the three strangers who visited Abraham and Sarah they're pictured sitting at a dinner table it reminds us that the hospitality of those two great patriarchs Abraham and Sarah to the three persons of the Trinity remind us that we too can invite the three persons of the Trinity to be a part of our ordinary daily activities acknowledging the Trinity's work in our lives let us acknowledge our sins prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries I confess to Almighty God may Almighty God have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life so here he he hey he saw so crease take a lay he saw here ETA a lake Esau let us pray God our Father who by sending into the world the word of truth and the spirit of sanctification made known to the human race your wondrous mystery grant us we pray that in professing the true faith we may acknowledge the Trinity of eternal glory and adore your unity powerful in majesty our Lord Jesus Christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit one God for ever and ever amen a reading from the book of Exodus early in the morning Moses went up Mount Sinai as the Lord had commanded him taking along the two stone tablets having come down in a cloud the Lord stood with Moses there and proclaimed his name Lord thus the Lord passed before him and cried out the Lord the Lord a merciful and gracious God slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity Moses at once bowed down to the ground and worship then he said if I think favor with you O Lord do come along in our company this is indeed a stiff-necked people yet pardon our wickedness and sins and receive us as your own the word of the Lord crazy and exits to Oh a reading from the second letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians brothers and sisters rejoice mend your ways encourage one another agree with one another live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you greet one another with a holy kiss all the Holy Ones greet you the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you the word of the Lord I you with you a reading from the holy Gospel according to John God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life for God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through him whoever believes in him will not be condemned but whoever does not believe has already been condemned because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God the gospel of the Lord one summer day two youngsters a boy and a girl we're playing in the sand and a sunny beach they work very hard and very long building an elaborate sandcastle of the water's edge slowly the tide began to come in just when they had nearly finished their monumental project a big wave came along and just wiped it out reducing their elaborate enormous sandcastle that took pains and hours to make nothing but a heap of wet sand some of the beach baby there's nearby expected the youngsters to burst out into tears since they worked so long and so hard on it but the kids surprised everyone instead the children ran up the beach laughing and holding hands and just went looking for more sand to build another one those children embodied the spirit that Jesus calls us to imitate they understand a foundational reality of life the cathedral parish family we cannot worry or become anxious about life's twists and turns sooner or later a wave will come along and knock down what little sense of security that we think we've built up only one thing endures relationship relationships and there you have what is at the heart of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit relationship they are a communion of relationships a communal relationship built on love God is not solitary God is not isolated he doesn't hold to the doctrine of rugged individualism God is a community of relationships and if we are ever to understand ourselves we must understand the makeup of God so that first reading from Exodus with Moses and the commandments and him recognizing the greatness of God shows us the unity that the persons have as one the oneness of God the second reading from 2nd Corinthians st. Paul gives us that valedictory blessing at the end we use it now at the mass to begin the mass the Lord Jesus Christ the love of God the Fellowship or the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you and then the gospel God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son it shows the love of God and what is the love of God which we are Damir because we're created in His image and likeness the total act of self giving and we can only know this total self act of God giving himself completely out of love only because Jesus did it for us on the cross crucifixion total act of self giving by the son the second person of the Trinity we are learning something from this pandemic and from the civil unrest happening around our country we could never be happy isolated from each other we will never find fulfilment from protecting just our interests or just our preferences unless we give ourselves freely in love we can never be fully human no I might say can we be fully Christian in this time of post pandemic and civil unrest especially during this time of post pandemic and civil unrest Christianity should be about building up the community of divine love of the three persons at Trinity within each and every one of us as a story of a teenage girl in an orphanage who was a real problem child or so thought they had mitrik the headmistress excuse me one day the headmistress saw the girl walk outside the main gate which is a forbidden rule at the orphanage center the girl walked to a tree down the block and tied some pieces of paper to a few branches as the head metric the Head Mistress watched from the window she shook her head thinking that this was one more issue that she had to deal with with this girl however to her surprise the team turned around and returned to the building so the Head Mistress went out to see why she had tied the pieces of paper to the tree was she sending some sort of an SOS trying to escape so she grabbed a piece of paper off one of the limbs of the tree and looked at it she was moved to tears by what she read to her surprise on those little notes the teenager had written whoever - - whoever finds this I love you what had made her write such a cryptic personal message intended for complete strangers who are just passing by has she been touched by some act of kindness but she realized that God could be personal and up close when at times he seems like he's so distant and far away it's a three persons of the Trinity Father Son and Holy Spirit that we must cling to now in relationship embody that love mirror that love the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit act in such a way to remind us that we are made to love and to be loved - Sharon the truth the goodness and beauty of the Trinity is a glory for which each and every one of us has been created together I believe in one God the Father Almighty maker of heaven and earth of all things visible and invisible I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God born of the father before all ages God from God light from light true God from True God begotten not made consubstantial with the father through him all things were made for us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven by the Holy Spirit born of the Virgin Mary and became man for our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate he suffered death and was buried he rose again in the third day in accordance with the Scriptures he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father he will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end I believe in the Holy Spirit the Lord the giver of life who proceeds from the father and the son with the father and the son is adored and glorified was spoken through the prophets I believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins I look forward to the resurrection of the Dead life for the world to come family members never abandon each other God will never abandon us if we live faithfully within the communion of the Trinity and so we pray that the preaching and teaching of the church will draw our members deeper into the abundant life of the Blessed Trinity we pray to the Lord Lord hear our prayer for those who lead our country that they will come together to restore peace unity and order during this time of civil unrest we pray to the Lord Lord hear our prayer for any for an end to prejudiced discrimination and bigotry due to race color and religion we pray to the Lord hear our prayer that's a Blessed Trinity may convert the hearts of those who live in violence hatred and anger we pray to the Lord Moore hear our prayer for those who compromise or distort the gospel truth that the mercy of the Blessed Trinity will awaken their minds and convert their hearts we pray to the Lord Lord hear our prayer for the sick and the suffering the homeless in the jobless the addicted and the incarcerated for all those who cry out to Jesus for healing that they may receive it we pray to the Lord hear our prayer for our Cathedral parish that the love we have for each other will become a more perfect likeness of the love between the three persons of the Trinity we pray to the Lord loving father let us remain vigilant in our faith and wholly given over to the creative action of the three persons of the Blessed Trinity we pray this through Christ our Lord amen please rise pray my brothers and sisters that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God the Almighty father sanctify by the invocation of your name we pray O Lord our God this oblation of our service and by it make of us an eternal offering to you through Christ our Lord the Lord be with you lift up your hearts let us give thanks to the Lord our God it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks Lord Holy Father Almighty and eternal God for with your only begotten Son and the Holy Spirit you are one God one Lord not in the unity of a single person but in a Trinity of one substance for what you have revealed to us of your glory we believe equally of your Son and of the Holy Spirit so that in the confessing of the true and eternal Godhead you might be adored in what is proper to each person their unity in substance and their equality and majesty for this is praised by angels and archangels cherubim - and Seraphim who never cease to cry out each day as with one voice they acclaim you are indeed holy O Lord and all you've created rightly gives you praise for through your son our Lord Jesus Christ or the power and working of the Holy Spirit you give life to all things and make them holy and you never cease to gather a people to yourself so that from the rising of the Sun to its setting a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name therefore O Lord we humbly implore you by the same spirit graciously make holy these gifts we brought to you for consecration that they may become the body and blood of your son our Lord Jesus Christ at whose command we celebrate these mysteries for on the night he was betrayed he himself took bread and giving you thanks he said the blessing broke the bread and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and giving you thanks he said the blessing and gave the chalice to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of My Blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me the mystery of faith therefore O Lord as we celebrate the memorial of the saving passion of your son his wondrous resurrection and ascension into heaven and as we look forward to his second coming we offer you in Thanksgiving this holy and living sacrifice look we pray upon the oblation of your church and recognizing the sacrificial victim by whose death you willed to reconcile us to yourself grant that we who are nourished by the body and blood of your son and filled with His Holy Spirit may become one body one spirit in Christ may make of us an eternal offering to you so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect especially with the Most Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God with blessed Joseph her spouse with your blessed apostles and glorious martyrs and with all the Saints on whose constant intercession in your presence we rely for unfailing help may this sacrifice of our reconciliation we pray O Lord advance the peace and salvation of all the world be pleased to confirm in faith and charity your pilgrim church on earth with your servant Francis our Pope and Donald our Bishop the order of Bishops all the clergy and the entire people that you have gained for your own listen graciously to the prayers of this family whom you have summoned before you and your compassion admittance to your kingdom there we hope to enjoy forever the fullness of your glory through Christ our Lord through whom you bestow on the world all that is good through him and with him and in him O God Almighty father in the unity of the Holy Spirit all glory and honor is yours forever and you have at the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching together we dare to say our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom I will be on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not deliver us Lord we pray from every evil graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the Blessed hope and
