we're in the bed but i didn't want to be i don't want to be like over the top with her you didn't want to be all youtubey about it yeah i know what you mean yeah i don't want to make her feel uncomfortable because it's only our second day she's like i'm just going to keep my jeans on so you don't think i'm up to anything terrible nights sleeping [ __ ] skinny jeans just lying there [Music] talking of like terrible not terrible but presents what is the worst present you've okay so fresh in my mind um so last year uh i took my girlfriend to new york for christmas um so yeah we had a nice time there went to broadway and watched mean girls you know oh wow as lads do and then uh we were in the airport coming home and she was like i don't know what to get you and she sort of i think i went off to one of the shops came back and she's like i've got you something and she just kept talking about it and she was like just want me to know what it is so then she showed me she bought me a frying pan set and i'm just like and i can't hide if i think a gift [ __ ] like my dad my dad doesn't react well another thing i'm gonna say i was just like frying pans for the whole flat to use that's good enjoy new york did you i was i i was just like what do you do with that what's the thought process behind that we needed a new frying pan oh she's one of these people that will buy a present knowing that she gets to use it again i came to new york as well so i was uh so the flight back home he didn't speak because she was annoyed with me that had reacted badly oh no it was a good frying pan to be fair was it nonstick it was yeah yeah good honor for a month so uh yeah that was that was probably the because of the time and i think yeah but yeah that's quite i've got questions on here i wanted to actually if you don't mind speak about your girlfriend for a bit because i don't think i've heard you speak about that that much online yeah i usually say the wrong thing hard to cram that into a comedy sketch isn't it like that kind of thing so what you took her to new york yeah that was uh when was that last yeah last year how long have you been with her uh two two and a half years two and a half years congrats on that on that milestone oh i thought you meant like i should be congratulating her well yeah for staying with me she's with steven tries no no definitely not what made you what made you go to new york do you like the idea of um christmas at new york in new york we went we went with xo and that was it was really good but because we were sort of working i guess we got to see more but we i really wanted to go back again um oh i thought did you think that he might you took your girlfriend to go over yeah you took and you went we went with xo like the exo lads came for the christmas thing we were working but she got to have a look at that mean girls where's lindsay lohan [Laughter] yeah go on so you so you liked it when you didn't like new york and then um she she wanted to go she kept talking about it like every other day it'd be new york this new york that right uh she did the same with amsterdam she just kept talking about amsterdam and then you kept doing that with frying pan [ __ ] [ __ ] frying pan um that was after i got the present she got me other things it's fine would you say the new york trip is the most romantic thing you've done are you a romantic sort of but i've i always ruined the surprise like as soon as i bought new yorker just told her so yeah christmas in new york like that's that's the was it was is it very festive is it very romantic over there that's nice went to the rockefeller center with the big tree the christmas tree is that is that is that a shopping center no the rock of i thought there's an ice rink and maybe it's like a the big big rockefeller building you've seen on the movies yeah scene on the map didn't have alone too did you go ice skating no what did he do uh we went to was abroad why did i mention broadway what did we do in new york [Laughter] memorable trip though yes we went to a lot of shops uh weirdly enough we spent about we spent at least one morning uh in macy's because there was a cinnabon i was like we both like i want to try cinnabon what's that it's like a cinnamon bun basically right i should have worked it out shouldn't i a cinnabon right so that looked really good and we walked past it and smelt it in macy's like the big department store problem is there's 10 floors there we we asked loads of different stuff oh where's the cinnabon bit in the shop no oh i don't know we started to think did we just do we just say that in a vision or something is it because it was so big yeah [ __ ] hell so we we spent we went there one day confined it came like the next day [ __ ] hell and then it turns out it was in a burger king oh the obvious place have you had any bad dates steven yeah weirdly enough i think one of our i think was our second date we went to liverpool and uh i got pissed on the train before i met that's so funny to me uh i was like nervous oh god yeah when you say piss what level of pissed are you are you tipsy warmed up yeah right okay yeah uh so i got there chatting away um and then we we had a lovely evening out for quite a long time uh they got she told me she had a free house and she doesn't live far away from liverpool right stay on uh so i uh so i got about two in the morning and i was like so what should we do now and she was like i've got a free house but i didn't want to put the pressure on her to for us to go back there yeah we can get a hotel if you want she's like yeah we'll do that so then unfortunately the only one near us was a travel lodge and they were full no room at the end yeah go to the premier inn now yeah we've got a room just like oh good and then um so they he's doing that he does the price he's like that'll be uh 220 pounds please i know it's like 3 a.m we're out by 11 hours [ __ ] house obviously it's very early stages i can't i can't be like oh no i'm not paying that yeah we'll go back to yours so i was like okay so i paid for that so once i've paid he then starts he looks at my address and goes oh i've got a cousin that lives near there yeah and just goes on about this one [ __ ] hell you just cost me about 20 quid where i could be in the room so we get to the room uh go indoors she goes to the bathroom i close the curtains they just collapse down on me so she comes out and i'm just holding them against them can you help me please don't push sorry i'm trying to get in the mood we're in the bed but i didn't want to be i don't want to be like over the top with her you didn't want to be all youtubey about it yeah i know you mean yeah i don't want to make her feel uncomfortable because it's did with will where i took over his tinder right uh so not on my channel uh but she'd watch that and then uh she'd i think um she'd watched all my videos then no she might have messaged me after that right dm me she did uh the queen's dead so so obviously you see your message requests and you can only see like the first line or whatever so i just i clicked on that uh and then googled it and i was like uh i think i made a joke back to her and then she messaged me again but she put something like 016 on some sort of joke a bit cringe but apparently some one of the flatmates have told her to put that so uh yeah that's what they all say it's like when you ask a girl out on msn and then they say no and you go sorry that's my mate on my account that's what that was did a flatmate buy the frying pans as well is that what it was but they uh but then yeah started talking and um and then what i realized was quite i look back at it it's quite bad our first date was uh it's on a sunday because we were going to go to manchester and i thought if it's a saturday if if we go out there's going to be a lot of people i might get recognized and just get you know yeah people go so sunday's dead quiet and then i booked like a hotel room which obviously is a bit bit much for a first date but i picked one with two separate bedrooms so it's like so if you're gonna stay over because it's quite far away from home then uh you've got your own bedroom uh right she didn't know i slept in my jeans at this point but she thought she would yeah she never actually met me so she didn't know what i was like that's quite a nice touch though i think like yeah it's not creepy yeah but then she uh the jeans thing is but yeah she's still doing that two and a half years in pajamas so i uh so then the day of the date she was like uh i'm gonna get picked up around 4am what who's gonna pick you up 4am and one of a flat sweet flatmates was picking her up i was like i'm going to get robbed here at 4am i'm gonna come in and just take so i was like oh no we'll just leave it uh we'll find another time she's like no i'm i'm still coming to manchester so she sort of persuaded me to go right and we had a good first date and she didn't get picked up at 4am i think it's because she was worried that she didn't know what i was yeah what was like oh she didn't get picked up but she did she did she did yeah just because she didn't want to stay over didn't know yeah yeah my kind of vibe yeah uh but then that worked out then the third date she'd been to magaluf um and then she brought back a bottle of absinthe and it was my birthday and she gave it to me and then i saw max shot in it just i'll do that and uh and then i was just i was just gone i got kicked out of the first bar in manchester and we got into the second one so how did we get in and then you were feeling the bouncers muscles telling us what [Laughter] that's me absent is dodgy [ __ ] right yeah and apparently we came out and i kicked over at homeless person's money not on purpose but i kicked it over everyone else had to pick it up i was just i was gone and she still wanted to see you after that this is it that's yeah so what i realized is when she see me at my worst you know yeah humiliating homeless people that's what i think bounces it's marilyn monroe that said if you can't handle me at night is it yeah my worst and you don't deserve me at my best so there you go and now she's got you at your best sitting here on the happy ad podcast wearing a toby carvery christmas jumper get a monster merry christmas
