hi everyone welcome to the high carbon steel love Channel my name is Dave and I'm very happy that you're here one of the things I really love about my viewers and my subscribers is that you guys ask great questions I really appreciate that and I really enjoy the interaction that we have over the questions that you do ask one of the pieces of gear that I get asked probably the most questions about is the Stanley Adventure cook cup or the Stanley Adventure cook set but specifically the cook cup here I've done several videos on this but I probably get more questions about this little cook pot than any other piece of gear that I own so I figured today we would take a little stop here on the hike through the woods and go over in detail my Stanley adventure cook Cup let's talk about how I carry my Stanley Adventure cook cup before that let me show you a couple of pieces of gear here that I'm testing out today's hike was essentially a gear testing hike because I had a couple of very nice companies send me some gear to review and I won't be comfortable doing that until I actually test it out in the elements here this is the LA police gear 24-hour tactical Atlas pack so far this thing has been tremendous I really like it a lot and we have a full review coming very soon this is the F Nova 40 ounce stainless steel flask so far this thing has also been outstanding a little more testing and I'll be ready to do a full review on it this is how I carry my Stanley adventure cook cup or essentially my whole cook kit right into this little h2o pouch here this thing is tremendous it's MOLLE compatible and I have the MOLLE straps on the back weaved in to the lazer Maui on the le police gear 24-hour Atlas pack a lot of you may be familiar with this type of water or h2o type pouch a lot of different brands make them and have their own versions I happen to like this condor was very affordable and I've owned it for a few years and it has yet to let me down a nice roomy front pocket so you can keep allotted different things a lot of people carry different things in these pockets so I won't go over all of that how this pocket relates to my Stanley adventure cook Cup is that I keep the lid to the cook cup in there I keep the removable handle and one other thing that I have is a removable bail that I made I keep three pieces in a stuff sack right inside of here inside of this stuff sack we have the main components of the kit one of the questions I do get is where did I purchase this stuff sack this was from Walmart in a pack of three so there was this one I think there was one smaller and there was one bigger first is the Stanley water bottle I don't know if these are readily available but every once in a while I will see them at Walmart I use this plastic part as a cup a lot and I don't put this in the fire because I use the Stanley Cup Cup for everything but if I needed to that would work fine this is a 32 ounce water bottle in an S in pretty well let's open up the bandana and take out the stanley cook up and the final component is a $4 GI style cup I think it's Ozark Trail brand from Walmart as well and the three of those nest together and are very easy to carry as far as the cook cup itself it's about five-and-a-half inches high the diameter at the bottom of the cup measures about three point two five inches whereas the opening measures about 3.75 inches you have a little bit of a taper here and a little bit here where it kind of rounds off on the bottom I wanted to give those measurements for anyone who asked what type of cups or what type of stoves might fit into this cook kit hopefully those measurements will help you out made of 18/8 single wall stainless steel comes with a very nice vented lid it initially comes with a piece of plastic for a handle to move the lid I took that off and I replace mine with a keyring and it fits onto the pot pretty well it doesn't lock on but it also doesn't fall off and hitting it in different areas but I'm a fan of the tops that just lift off because when I'm cooking I don't like to wrestle with it to unsnap it and check and see if my water is boiling hose our trail GI style cup here's the lid from our stanley adventure cook cup fits right on there perfectly almost like it was made for it the pot also comes with a removable handle so all you need to do to remove that handle is to move this lock back which enables you to squeeze the handle together you remove it from these inside holes and there you go to replace it you just squeeze it back again put them right back in the holes and lock that lock this cook cup also includes two heavy-duty green cups they're thick green cups that nest right into here when you purchase it I have never used them so I can't give an opinion on them but I know that some guys like using them very much the important thing to remember and why I mention it is with those two cups in here and the lid this weighs about 14 ounces without the two cups in the lid it's about seven point five ounces you'll see a couple holes that I drilled here on each side what that initially was for was for the fish mouth spreaders or the bottle hanger so I can hang this over the fire I also utilized a bail wire would wrap it around this rim here and hang it over the fire neither system seemed to work perfectly for me or give me what I was looking for so what I did is I took a wire coat hanger I cut it with my multi-tool and folded it over and now I have my own bail system for my little cook cup here not only can I hang it over the fire but what I like about these is I have full access to the lid while it's over the fire so I can take the lid on and off check the boil and set it right back on without disturbing anything this bail has been the addition to make this my favorite cook pot measurement marks make it very easy to add the water that you want to this is a 24 ounce pot and the measurement marks go right to about 20 ounces with a bushcraft coffee today over my umbrella stove with the Trangia right inside that there's our rolling boil there so with our bushcraft coffee we're just going to let that roll for about one minute what I like to do is to use my bail modification and just lift it up off the fire that way if you're not a subscriber to my channel it's very easy to subscribe you can either hover over my
