Saving Minthara & Convincing Her To Join Your Cause In Baldur's Gate 3

hi guys Corey here and today I'm going to be showing you how to get mnthara as a companion in Baldur's Gate 3. now the first thing I do want to mention before we get started on this is by recruiting and thought or starting recruiting with Mandara you are going to basically be ruining um any chance of having a good ending of act one because you're gonna have to kill everybody in the Grove in order to get her so that is one thing I want to give you a heads up before before you try to start unlocking her and in doing so you're also going to be losing the option to have some some companions as well so just keep that in mind um but with that aside we're going to begin okay so the first thing you're going to do um before you have found hasslin and made any of these goblins here in the shattered Sanctuary hostile what you're going to want to do is go all the way back up this direction and onto this little Corridor here to the back you will see mintar standing right back here and what we're going to want to do here is we're going to talk to her and we are going to we're going to tell her where to find the Grove so the first thing you want to say is a hunt who's a Target okay and then once you do that you learn that she's actually looking for the Grove so then we're going to say leading her to the tieflinks might Doom them but it would earn you her trust so we're going to say we don't need the prisoner I already know the place you're looking for and then this place right here I just do the absolute guy to me and then allow her to read your thoughts and then we're gonna do it it shall be so [Music] and as you can see already just with that Gail disapproved that so we are already on on the bad side of one person now now that they are going to go and gather up a group of people to infantry infiltrate the um the Grove what we need to do next is we need to rest and wait till the next day okay so once you go back to your camp and rest for the night the next morning you'll wake up you'll notice in your Journal that there is two completed quests and a new one raid Emerald Grove so with that what we're gonna need to do is go to the emerald Grove in varians and bearings I think how you pronounce that and then once we're here there's a few different ways you can convince the battle but the easiest way that I have seen once we get over here and talk to this dude so we're going to want to go up there but first I do recommend destroying these barrels just because they have oil in them and if you destroy them and catch them on fire they can't be used um to kill the goblins so what we're gonna do is we're going to go up here and instead of talking to him we're just gonna go ahead and blow the horn and that's going to Rally everyone to come and do the fight now the reason we're just gonna blow the horn is because if you talk to them it's going to get more disapproves from other people um such as Shadow heart and I know Gail's gonna get it screwed out of the way but it's better to to do it this way now one thing that you do need to make sure here um during these fights in the Grove is you are going to want to make sure that menthara stays alive because she dies obviously she can't be your companion so um just make sure that she's not dying which is really hard to do because being honest the enemies here are pretty weak that she fights okay so after you have completed the raid and come back to your camp at night you are going to have a few things you're going to need to do now first thing is you can talk to menthara and let her know that you want to lay with her or you don't just so you know if you live with her it is a very graphic scene so keep that in mind and then the next is Gail over here he is going to be on the verge of leaving so we've already lost carlak and we lost will um we don't really want to lose gear if we can if we can keep him so what you have to do is you have to complete a check it doesn't really matter what you choose here I've chose I've chose all of these to see if there was anything any way that we could keep from happening to this check but it's automatically going to pull either a deception check or an inside check okay now before we go to bed after we have saved Gail what we're going to want to do is we're going to save again um because we need to go to bed here and we're gonna have to make two saves against ventara okay so after you have talked to Gail and talked to mythara and talked to all of your other companions on here if you want you're going to want to save again because at this next part we are going to have to complete two saving throws um in order to continue on with the recruitment of mynthara okay so the easier of the two to choose here is going to be the deception because it only that only has a difficulty classic two so we're just going to go ahead and do that and so after you complete that check right there um she will then tell you that she is going to go to the moonrise Tower and that you need to do the same okay so after everything that happens at night you're told you need to go to the moonrise Towers now there's two different ways that we can get there we can go through the underdark and the Goblin camp or we can go through the mountain pass Mandara wants us to go to the mountain pass away but I really don't think this part matters which way you go okay so now once we have made it all the way to moonrise Towers what we're going to do is we're gonna go through this giant ass absolute store and then when we get in here you will see that menthara is right here being judged so now this part right here isn't a big isn't a big deal as long as she doesn't end up getting killed right here you're either gonna be able to save her depending on your choices if you complete these wisdom checks now the first time I did this I tried to do the very bottom one um where you push them to the clear mythara innocent and I succeeded it and it still did nothing um she still got sent down at the jail so I know that's not gonna be one that um you can do so try one of these others and see if that works for you but if she gets sent down to the jail you can still easily get her out of there so I take that back there is one choice here that will probably let you kill her um so just don't choose the why not killer here thing okay so now that we've finished that conversation we're going to come down here to the right and we are going to go down these stairs right here and this is going to take us down into the prison now once we get down here we're going to go over here to the left and we are going to see that menthara is and you're getting tortured by these two Yankees so you have two options here you can either take take over the torturing or you can kill these these two right now so in order to take over the torturing yourself you'll do the passive deception or an intimidation just so just keep that in mind um whenever I did this I originally chose to kill these two because my plan was to take out all of them anyways so okay and now that we have Mentor in our party right here all we have left to do is just leave her out of the camp now the easiest way to do the easiest way to do this is if you have a scroll of invisibility or a potion visibility just use that owner and you can just sneak her right on out and so you don't have to worry about getting captured by anybody okay so once you talk to mentholar outside of uh the towers you'll be given the option to either kill her or send her to your camp and I would hope you attend her to your Camp after you went through all this just to get her um but that's all I have for this and I hope I was able to help you get her as your companion and like always thank you
