day that you have afforded us to prepare for your coming we invite your presence into the house that we might not be left alone be with us today and accept our worship service in jesus name amen once again good morning church those one in the sanctuary here and those online you are all welcome to our divine service i am glad and happy to stand here as the elder on duty this sabbath and we have done already our announcement right now i'm going to invite all of you to open your bibles in the book of psalm 96 psalm 96 for our call to worship but before i do this reading i am happy and excited to hear once again in our worship service a piano singing if you are not happy for me i have to say it and to confess it elda lungani thank you very much for the inspiration of going back to your post there it's part of the worship and for sure we have to say it it brings us closer into our worship when we hear the piano singing and our voice uplifted very harmony time for singing let's see let's read psalm 96 i'm going to read verse 1 and 2 it says o sing to the lord a new song sing to the lord all the earth sing to the lord bless his name proclaim the good news of his salvation from day to day this is our call to worship as customs now we just go into our offertory moment and all we do is just to remind you the ways we used to offer our of to bring our offering and tithe by either doing it online or dropping by here and hand it to either the treasurer or any of the elders so you are free to choose which means is convenient for you let us pray our heavenly father we thank you for this opportunity you have given to us to testify of your goodness by bringing the offering and returning tithe father we know that you don't need the money all you need is the expression of our love and gratitude towards you i thank you for those one you blessed with something that they might have given through online or they have prepared their envelope father may you accept all this offering for above indeed we know that you are among us right now lord we come to you in a very special way thanking you always for what you have done for us we thank you lord first of all for the gift of love that you have for us and we want to thank you lord for giving us your son to die for us and for the holy spirit to lead and guide us and teach us and to comfort us we thank you lord for the gift of life that comes to us free of charge we cannot afford to buy life or anything but through your love and wisdom you have given these things to us for our benefit not to even thank you for the sabbath day of rest that you have given to us because you knew that will require this in our lives and hence we enjoy resting and communing with you as we fellowship with one another lord we thank you for the bread of life your word that you have given to us so that we can fit and drink from it and have eternal life not as we gather here today we want to bring ourselves humbly at your feet sinful as we are lord wash us clean so that we may be fitted for your kingdom i pray for each one of us here some of us are worshiping online some of us are worshiping in various places all over this country and other places where your servants are covered doesn't matter how spaced apart we are your holy spirit is reaching to us all at one time and you will never leave us alone lord we are so happy to have a father like you who knows what we need who knows where where and when we'll get what we we have to have i pray lord that each one of us in various situations of our need may be met may meet you at the feet of the cross so that we can be blessed lord we have lots of hardships surrounding us hardships like illness hardships like death hardships like starvation hardships like natural disasters affecting and destroying lives many more that you have even prophesied for our own knowledge now as we see all these things lord make our focus come to you so that you may not lose sight of you i pray lord that whatever the signs of times are showing around us they may not steal our attention but let us look at you because all these things are telling us that you are coming to save us i pray lord that indeed we may not even be afraid of these things instead of giving us fear may they give us the faith that will enable us to know exactly what to do and when to come to worship you lord i want to pray this time for a family for the family of the week amongst us i don't know how this thought came that this church should pray for a family each week but lord if this is a noble thought i bless the name of christ for it and i blame the family of brother and sister mandara in your hands now i believe they have worked for you and they still work for you they love you and you love them lord i i pray that you continue leading them into the direction of salvation and as they lead their children to your throne lord help them to do so and teach them the truth that will stay with them for the rest of their lives i pray lord that as they serve you they may serve you in truth and spirit and whatever they do for themselves forms of work or school lord bless them whatever they touch may be blessed and even bless other people around them as we learnt today that those who blessed abraham they were blessed i pray that those who touch shelters with him and our family may be blessed indeed i pray for your servant who's gonna give us the your word today lord it is with gratitude that we see pastor simba charumbira one more time after a long time having gone on a mission trip his back lord i pray that is going to share with us your word and indeed testimonies and experiences of his life but we also can be blessed i know he's not been feeling well but lord is we're thankful that he can be able to stand and tell of the love of god bless him and bless his desires too and we pray lord that every one of us can see the face of christ as we sit down to listen to your word bless everyone and bless us all we pray for this and many many more other blessings that you have promised us and given us in the name of christ our lord and savior amen and amen happy sabbath everyone uh those that are worshipping here my friends from the lower division we welcome you and those that are worshiping online we welcome you as well uh our story today is a one of the many interesting stories that uh we find in the bible i was looking at uh at a verse here from john 12 verse 32 where christ says let me read it quickly here it says and i if i be lifted up from the earth we'll draw all men to me if i be lifted up i will draw all men to me this is what christ said now listen to the key here the key is if i be lifted up so christ is saying if he is lifted up right so that's the key for the story this morning so let's go in so once upon a time uh if you when if you remember very well we had uh the story of the flood right so we all know noah's flood came and destroyed it every living thing on earth except for how many people eight only eight people survived so just imagine the whole of edmonton all of alberta all of canada underwater everywhere everywhere underwater so after a time the water subsided and dry land came up again and life began to go back to normal now a few i mean a few years would say after that see men is very intelligent sometimes right not always in a good way so imagine so these guys are like uh you know this one guy right he's like hey man you say this thing about the flood do you think it's going to happen again so they they spoke amongst themselves and the other guy says you know i think i think it's going to happen again what are we going to do man now what are we gonna do if it's if it happens again if the flood comes back again what are we going to do so they thought amongst themselves they discussed it and they were like ah you know man see the mountains were underwater last time so which means the mountains are not high enough trees underwater tall buildings underwater everything in the world so what are we going to do so they thought and thought and thought consulted among each other spoke to an expert they spoke to a maybe a construction guy over there like hey man you do construction can you tell us what's going on maybe i spoke to a geologist talked about the earth and the rocks and all these kind of things a scientist you know they spoke and in the end they agreed you know what let us build us a tower see if we make it so high that the waters won't reach it let's make it as high as the heavens in case the flood comes back but what had the lord said the lord had put a rainbow in the sky and what did the rainbow mean anybody knows he will no longer or destroy the water sorry the world with water as a flood is that it happened before right so they started building hey come come come come let's build fix and shovel instead of digging lay down the foundation hey bring some bricks man the guy brought some bricks we need a pack of cement over there bring it up they brought up oh we need some steel roads whatever they used they were talking they were understanding each other they were in agreement and they started to build they built they built structure came up it went up it went up and the key that they said about to themselves is let us make a name for ourselves a name for who ourselves but the vest we just read from john says if i believed enough so now there's a conflict the name of jesus and the name of men right they built they built they built and the lord up in heaven is looking there's like these people man these people don't believe and say so what did the lord decide and god in heaven decided okay see these people are united and these people have one language they understand each other so we are going to give them more than one language you see now we you see in the bible the bible tells us where language is originated from see so and it was at the tower it's called the tower of babel that languages were introduced so just imagine this you know just imagine this one guy said hey man i need five nails and a hammer and the guy gives me a brick no man i said i need a shovel brings in a pile of cement because he doesn't understand anymore someone is speaking in english other one is speaking in shauna belle in botswana in french languages just got confused could they build anymore no they couldn't build so they dispersed and it was at that point that the language is spread out what is the lesson here men in this story came together but not for a good reason they wanted to lift their names up and for god to lift the name of jesus so this moral of the story is in everything that we do we ought to lift the name of jesus in our lives you know everything that we do as we pray and praise everything that we do we represent and we lift the name of jesus if ever it so happens that you end up lifting up your own name it is not going to work right if you go to school and say i want to pass i want to be the greatest of all and do whatever i need to do it's not going to work out that way right but if you do it in order to bring honor and glory to the name of christ you will be successful this is the moral this is the lesson of the story this morning that in whatever we do we are lifting up the name of jesus shall we bow heads for prayer father in heaven we thank you this morning for the gift of life and for the reminder that your name is the name above all names it is a name that we ought to lift up in everything that we say everything that we do and in everything and in every place we might find ourselves we ask you that may bless us today as we worship you that we may always remember that we are lifting up the name of christ which is the name by which we are all saved bless us today in the name of jesus christ we pray amen good morning church our scripture reading is taken from the book of deuteronomy chapter 7 verse 12 to 15. deuteronomy 7 verse 12 to 15. i'll give you a moment to open your bibles verse 12 then it shall come to pass because you listen to these judgments and keep and do them that the lord your god will keep you from will keep you will keep you the covenant and the mercy which you sow to your fathers and he will love you and bless you and multiply you you will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land your grain your new wine and your oil the increase of your kettle the offspring of your flock the land of which he saw to your fathers to give you you shall be blessed above all peoples they shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock and the lord will take away from you all sickness and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of egypt which you have known but will lay them on all those who hate you may god add a blessing to the reading of his word we have heard that you were sick we have heard that you were sick this is the salmon title for today and before the speaker stands out i will just introduce him though we may be familiar to him but still it's good to feel welcomed by your own and we are happy and pleased to have pastor simba charumbira amongst us today again as we heard after a long long period but we thank god because he still took care of him he has brought him back home safely and he chose him to share the word today with pastor simba so that he can bless us pastor simba the pulpit is yours now welcome and bless the children of god good morning church it's good and it's an honor to be back home after many days i have seen some of my colleagues some have changed gotten more blessings others have gone a little lost some but nonetheless it's good to be here i had wanted to sing a song i don't know if you have the song you know i have done uh three i have recorded three songs so far since i left but uh i haven't mastered them so i would have sung those to you today but i'll sing a more familiar one om sindisi om sindisi guwe computer here if you find it just let me know this table is not big enough it needs extension before we get into our message i just want to tell you that the lord has been good to me uh last year in in march of 2020 i left here on a mission trip i was going to go to zambia and to botswana and to zimbabwe and to kenya doing the same mission on health mission trip and the the day i landed in in zambia that's when planes were closed things were closed in fact on my way i had a weird trip via amsterdam we had to to fly just a few of us in a huge plane just a few of us going to johannesburg and when i got to johannesburg there was no plane for me to take me to zambia i went to to the the the other track the first track you you if you find it uh the the p not the pictures but the other one yeah uh i we i had to to go back to kenya first come back to to from from kenya to zambia the kenyan trip had been cancelled so they had given us a a flight to johannesburg it was just a weird weird time and so i decided i would just stay and i stayed in zambia until january this year when i went back home to zimbabwe and i have not been well since uh what around march and and so but the lord has sustained me and i'm glad to to be here today uh to see all of you once again and the message today um oh you see those bricks we are building a sanitarium back home the message we were told is to leave the cities and so i decided it's not going to be easy for me to be out of the city here in canada because i cannot afford the housing or the canadian uh dollar housing but if i were home i just simply go home you know what you mean when you in africa you say you go home it's the rural area and so now the lord has given us a small piece of land and um we are building a sanitarium as as as we are speaking they have people just working on it and uh at the end of this month of yeah this is october at the end of this month we're going to have a medical missionary training program right there at that very place and so um we solicit your support if you have if the lord has blessed you with ten dollars twenty dollars fifty dollars or if you have the lord has blessed you with clothes uh give us to to be able to use it in the lord's work our message today uh is entitled we have heard that you were sick we have heard that you were sick let's open our bibles to the book of second kings second kings chapter 20 when you have found it please say amen second kings chapter 20 from verse 1 says in those days was hezekiah sick unto death and the prophet isaiah the son of amos came to him and said unto him thus says the lord thine house in order for thou shalt die and not live then he turned his face to the wall and prayed unto the lord saying i beseech thee o lord remember now how i have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart and i have done that which is good in thy sight and the hezekiah wept saw and it came to pass a four isaiah was gone out into the middle of the court that the word of the lord came to him saying turn again and tell hezekiah the captain of my people thus says the lord the god of david thy father i have heard thy prayer i have seen thy tears behold i will heal thee on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the lord and i will add unto thy days 15 years and i will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of assyria and i will defend this city for my own sake and for thy for my servant david's sake and isaiah said take a lump of figs and they took and laid it on the boil and he recovered amen church and he recovered verse 8 let's continue the story and hezekiah said unto isaiah what shall be the sign that the lord will heal me and that i shall go up into the house of the lord on the third day and isaiah said this sign shall thou have of the lord that the lord will do the thing that he has spoken shall the shadow go forth forward 10 degrees or back 10 degrees and hezekiah answered it is a light thing for the shutter to go down 10 degrees nay but let the shadow return backward 10 degrees in isaiah the prophet cried unto the lord and he brought the shadow 10 degrees backward wow by which he had gone down in the dial of ours verse 12 let's continue at that time baladan another version who said merida baladan the son of baldwin baladan king of babylon sent letters in a present unto hezekiah for he had heard that hezekiah had been sick amen we have heard that you have been sick and hezekiah hearkened unto them and showed them all the house of these precious things excuse me the silver and the gold and the spices and the precious ointment and all the house of his armor and all was found in his treasures that there was nothing in his house nor in his dominion that hezekiah showed them not then came hezekiah the prophet unto king hezekiah isaiah the prophet under the king hezekiah then said unto him what saved these men and from whence came there unto thee and hezekiah said they are come from a far country even from babylon and he said what have they seen in the house and hezekiah answered all the things that are in mine house have they seen there is nothing among my treasures that i have not showed them and isaiah said unto hezekiah hear the word of the lord behold the days come that all that is in thine house and that which thy father's hair have laid up in store unto this day shall be carried into babylon nothing shall be left saith the lord let us close our eyes and pray gracious father thank you for your word thank you for teaching us what we what to do especially in these last days i pray lord that you talk to us in a special way in jesus name amen now this is not an easy message to preach and yet it must be preached if it's not preached now it may never be preached and therefore the lord has put on my heart to share with you this message and for a brief moment allow me to share with you we have heard the story second kings chapter 20 sickness is no respecter of persons everyone and anybody can get sick whether you are rich or whether you are poor you will get sick anybody can get sick king hezekiah is that man who had brought reforms amongst the israelites among god's people king hezekiah was a man of god his predecessors his fathers and his forefathers had ruined the spirituality of israel but when king hezekiah came he brought many reforms with him but he got sick unto death and god sent the prophet as isaiah and the prophet isaiah told him to make a poultice amen church somebody know what a portion is do you guys have a pointer so i can point on my own you don't have a pointer okay so i'll just be telling you please go to the next slide that's a portis that's before it's it's it's finally made so isaiah told hezekiah to make a poetess of figs and put on the boy so that he can recover and so god it is biblical to have to make politicians do you know who makes sport is this i never seen a potency in in the hospital somebody has i never seen it but the medical missionaries if you go with a wound if you go with some sickness they will make a what a potent and and you will it will help with whatever ailment you are suffering from let's go to the next slide those who seek healing by prayer should not neglect to make use of remedial agencies within their rich it is not a denial of faith to use such remedies as god has provided to alleviate pain and to aid nature in a work of restoration it is no denial of faith to cooperate with god and to place themselves in the condition most favorable to recovery some people tend to think that when you do medical missionary work you are now lining and siding with with the with the witch doctors uh you you guys may not think so but the the there is so many who who do believe that you would be surprised there are many ministers who don't believe in the medical missionary work because they think it's not a godly thing i have heard a minister denounce the medical missionary work but god is saying do not neglect the use of natural remedies that are within your what your rich again i'll say it is godly to make a potent amen it is biblical rather and then the next slide god has put it in our power to obtain a knowledge of the laws of life this knowledge has been placed within our reach for use we should employ every facility for the restoration of health taking every advantage possible working in harmony with natural laws when we have prayed for the recovery of the sick we can work with all the more energy thanking god that we have the privilege of cooperating with him and asking his blessing on the means which he himself has provided let's go next slide we have the sanction of the word of god for the use of remedial agencies now this is the spirit of prophecy meaning of healing hezekiah it goes on to tell what hezekiah did we we just read the story let's go to the next slide next slide oh i was looking at my computer thinking you haven't got let's go back now that's a potency when when you have when you're about to make it you kind of spread it onto the piece of cloth or paper towel and put it on the skin or whatever whichever place it might it is needed now look at the figs let's go next slide this is a fig how many of us eat figs here how many of us how many of us eat them regularly i don't know many people that it figs regularly not very many eldar might be the the minority now what are the benefits of things let's go let's keep going they are good for the heart it reduces cholesterol how many people are struggling with cholesterol i know statistics in the united states every year you lose from death more almost 700 000 people from heart disease alone and the major issue with heart disease is what cholesterol why don't we just go and gather a bunch of things and eat how many of us if you go to any church and ask them what sickness do you have what what what is your main ailment most people have heart disease i mean high blood pressure and all that kind of thing and most of it because of cholesterol why can't we just gather a bunch of figs it prevents cancer next one it prevents what cancer uh we make pontius for cancer for uh for uh fig potuses today as medical missionaries to heal cancer we can put it inside some other concoctions like if somebody has stomach cancer or bowel cancer we can put a in in a column cleanser herbs we put we can grind the dried uh figs and put in the in the same concoction so that as it is going down it is going also to heal the the cancer in the bowels next slide it helps sexual dysfunction the married people uh they don't say these things publicly but there's so much of this dysfunction just get a bunch of things it is also a an aphrodisiac thank god for things amen it treatment it treats general diseases it promotes digestive health if you have digestion issues it strengthens the bones many of us are weak we need more strength just get a bunch of figs it helps with a sore throat if you have sore throat like i'm right now i need a bunch of what figs it treats uh insomnia if you're failing to sleep go get a bunch of figs it is good for the skin huh instead of spending time on the mirror go spend time looking for what fix and you will spend less time on the mirror i can guarantee you amen because it's okay it enhances your hair health type 1 diabetes from the fig leaves you know they say type 1 diabetes is not treatable right but i have good news for you if you have type 1 diabetes just get a bunch of fig leaves and you know that when you when you get a when you remove the figs the leaf it it there's a white ointment that comes that is also good for for uh what you call uh what you know what it will remove what and so forth and should we not be eating figs yes we should at one time joshua commanded the sun to stand still so that they could finish the work in this case king hezekiah asked for a sign that the lord has heard him and isaiah said there is a sign from god should we let the sun go forward or should we let it go behind i mean the shadow and the king hezekiah said it is easy for the shutter to go forward let it come back once and it came backwards how many times 10 degrees now 10 degrees it came back in the fatal valleys of the tigris this is the spirit of prophecy talking and the euphrates they dwelt in ancient race which though at that time subject to assyria was destined to rule the world among its people were wise men who gave much attention to the study of astronomy somehow these easterners are good at what astronomy and when they noticed that the shadow on the sun dial had been turned back 10 degrees they marveled greatly what must have happened like it's all of a sudden it's now morning when when it was almost sunset the sun has gone back and they wondered what happened and their king merodach baladan upon learning that this miracle had wrote had been wrought as a sign to the king of judah that the god of heaven had granted him a new lease of life he sent ambassadors to hezekiah to congratulate him on his recovery and to learn if possible more of the god who was able to perform so great a wonder now it was a marvel to many including these eastern people and they said let us send our people to go and ask the king of israel we have heard you have been sick and that your god has healed you what is it about this god i tell you what an opportunity to hear what is it that people see when we when they come to church we have told a lot of stories in our church the adventists are known for a lot of good things and the people in the world are wondering what is it about these adventists even now i have i i read on the news it says uh those who do not eat meat or those who do not subsist mostly of flesh food and animal products have a higher chance of what you call they have a better chance of beating the coronavirus should they be attacked did you read that it is red and who are those who don't eat meat the most it is the seventh day adventists as a result some countries some some smaller countries it is well known that the adventists are the people with the health message and these people they will go to the adventists for advice but what is it that they will hear when they get to the church they will come and say we have heard you were sick many of us have told testimonies of how you were sick but you prayed unto the lord and the lord heard your prayer and he has healed you and the word goes out and it reverberates in the community and they come to church to the adventist church looking for the god who can heal people what is it that they will find we have heard we have come to a time now now this is an opportunity to teach them this message says testimonies for the church volume seven excuse me i haven't preached in a long time excuse me so my voice since leaves wants to be open i haven't preached in the in the in a setting of standing like this in a while it says we have come to a time when every member of the church should take hold of medical missionary work how many members church every member the world is a laser house that means a house of sick people filled with victims of both physical and spiritual disease everywhere people are perishing for lack of knowledge of the truths that we have been that have been committed to us who's us the seventh-day adventist the members of the church are in need of an awakening that they may realize their responsibility to impart these truths those who have been enlightened by the truth are to be light bearers to the world to hide our light at this time is to make a terrible mistake the message to god's people today is arise shine for thy light is come and the glory of the lord is risen upon thee this is a message for us and especially for us today before the true reformer the medical missionary work will open many doors no one need wait until cold to some distant field before beginning to help others wherever you are you can begin at once opportunities are within the reach of everyone take up the work for which you are held responsible the work that should be done in your home and in your neighborhood amen somewhere else she says every home must be a center of medical missionary work wait not for others to urge you to action in the fear of god go forward without delay bearing in mind your individual responsibility to him who gave his life for you act as if you have you heard christ calling upon you personally to do your utmost in his service look not to see who else is ready if you are truly consecrated god will through your instrumentality bring into the truth others whom he can use as channel to convey light to many that are groping in darkness and this is a message for the church when church today the visit of the messengers from the ruler of the faraway land gave hezekiah an opportunity to extol the living god how easy it would have been it would have been for him to tell of god to tell them of god the upholder of all created things through whose favor his own life had been spared when all other hope had fled what moment has transformations might have taken place had these seekers after truth from the plains of chaldea been led to acknowledge the supreme sovereignty of the living god there are a lot of portions of the bible that would not have been there if king hezekiah had preached this message to these messengers but pride and vanity took place took possession of hezekiah's heart and in self exaltation he laid open to curvaceous eyes that frasiers with which god had enriched his people the king showed them the house of his precious things the silver and the gold and the spices and this precious ointment and all the house of his armor and all that was found in his treasures there was nothing in his house nor in all his dominion that hezekiah showed them not wow he showed them everything else but the god of israel how sad how sad when the visitors come they come to church and they find the pride how sad therefore if somebody is proud they feel the need to display what they have how sad they find a church full of jealousy people jealous against one another envy grudges and hatred you have in the church people who have grudges that go back more than 10 years ago he said this to me she said that to me she did this to me he did that to me grudges and hatred amongst god's people this is what the visitors come and find in our church they come and find unforgiveness people who don't forgive each other how sad the story continues he says not to glorify god did he do this but to exalt himself in the eyes of the foreign princes how sad he did not stop to consider that these men were representatives of a powerful nation that had not the fear of the love of god in their hearts and that it was imprudent to make his confidence to to make them his confidence concerning the temporal riches of the nation wow what do you show people when they come home the visit of the ambassador to hezekiah was a test of his gratitude and devotion the record says how be it in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of babylon who sent out to him who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land god left him to try him that he might know all that was in his heart ii chronicles 32 31 now god leaves us and he tries us also to see what is in our hearts when our visitors come through the door we love them we love them we do but we also love ourselves more and we want to show them what we have instead of showing them the god who has protected us for a long time god have mercy they come and say we have heard you were sick they want to know about the god but god
