[Music] to the person who pleases him god gives wisdom knowledge and happiness but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and throwing up wealth to the hand it's over to the one who pleases god to the meaningless and chasing after the wind brothers and sisters good afternoon and happy sabbath good afternoon and happy sabbath we are blessed to be able to reunite here once again we into we are going into the 10th month of 2021 and god has blessed us and we are able to constantly come together and glorify his name i would like to say welcome to all viewers in person and online to everyone we hope you obtain what you need for today's service and continue um coming again once again welcome welcome welcome and happy sabbath to begin our service this afternoon we'll stand thing 106. come let us sing for the joy to the lord let us shout out aloud to the rocks of our salvation let us come before him with thanksgiving and exalt him with music and song for the lord is great the great king above all god in his hand and his depths of the earth and the mountain's peak belongs to him the sea is his for he made it and his hands form the dry land and come let us bow down in worship let us kneel before the maker the lord our maker for he is god and he we are the people of his pastor and the flock under his care psalms 95 verse 1 through 7. please buy your heads and close your eyes for prayer dear heavenly most gracious father thank you for giving us the opportunity to come to your holy sanctuary lord thank you for giving us the opportunity to watch in person and online lord thank you for being with us throughout the whole week and being able to come to your holy sabbath lord even though we might have been ups and downs throughout the week but you were able to protect us and show us grace and be able to come to your holy day lord ask that you please continue to be with us continue to be with every person in the sanctuary outside the sanctuary part of the church lord i that you please be able to hold them and keep them so we may be able to continue being servants free lord please continue to be with us as we're about to review the lesson through what we learned this was present truth the preamble to deuteronomy the memory text was found in first john 4 verse 8 which says he who does not love does not know god for god is love now please by your heads for a quick prayer dear heavenly father we say thank you that you allowed us to see yet another sabbath we say thank you that you allowed us to make our way to the sanctuary without anything but have it to us i said thank you that you've allowed those who are watching online to be able to make it lord at this time we actually please allow this lesson to go according to plan allow the entire entire rest of the program to go according to plan with each and every one of us name i pray amen the lesson starts off by saying the book of deuteronomy of course did not raise did not arise in a vacuum as with everything in life deuteronomy exists with context and as with everything in life that context plays an important role in understanding what the book means and what's its purpose a lot of history came before a history that explains circumstances not only of the book itself but also of the world and the environment that created its context just as it would just as it would be hard to understand the purpose and function of a windshield wiper outside the context of a car it'll be hard to understand deuteronomy especially in light of our theme deuteronomy and present truth to cover in one week's lesson the thousands of years of history that came before deuteronomy is somewhat the same thing but by focusing on the highlights we can see the context needed to best understand this book so rich with present truth first john 4 verse 8 says god is love however simply those three words foreign greek the idea behind them is so deep so profound that we can barely grasp their implications they don't say that god is love god loves or that god reveals love or that god is a manifestation of love but that god is love as if love is the essence of god's identity himself as fallen human beings with only a few piles of tissue and chemicals in our heads with which to grasp reality we just aren't able to comprehend fully what god is love means but we can't certainly understand enough to know that it's very good news if instead of god is love the verse said god is hate or god is vindicative or god is different this revelation of about him could have been something to worry about to be loved must be freely given god cannot force love the moment he does is no longer love hence when god created intelligent and rational beings in heaven and on earth with the ability to love the risk always existed that they may not love him back some didn't and hence there exist the origins of what we know as the great controversy next day the lesson starts off by saying almost every school child has heard the story about an apple falling on isaac's newton head and how that led to him discovering gravity whether or not an apple really fell on his head isn't the crucial point instead the point is that newton's great insight he didn't discover gravity either anyone who fell down already knew about gravity it was to understand that the same force that dropped the apple also kept the moon in orbit and around the earth the earth in orbit around the sun and so forth this was important because for millennia many people believed that the laws of that governed the heavens were different from the laws that governed the earth newton showed that this belief was wrong and though newton's contribution was in the area of natural law the same principle holds true with moral law the same freedom the freedom inherent in love that led to lucifer's fall in heaven led to humanity's fall on earth as well and genesis 2 verses 6 16 and 17 give us an example of that after the fall genesis 6 5 tells us after the fall things went from bad to worse even to the point where the lord said about humanity that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only if evil con continually the next day of the lesson says abram later called abraham first appears in the genealogy of genesis 11 which comes right after mention of the scattering from babel many centuries later the apostle paul is seeking to deal with the heresi of the galatians pointed back to abraham's column showing it to be an early expression of what god's intentions had always been which was the gospel of the world the gospel to the world therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of abraham and the scripture foreseen that god will justify the gentiles the gentiles by faith preached the gospel to abraham beforehand abraham's call was first expressed in genesis 12. much of the rest of genesis is the story of his blood descendants one dysfunctional seed after another creating one messed up family after another and yet though from the and though from through them the promise eventually was to be fulfilled reaching a crucial milestone with the call of moses acts 7 verse 22 36 shows the matter stephen's depiction of jos moses and exodus in a world steeped in ignorance error and a general lack of knowledge of truth things have not much changed in more than three thousand years have they the world called out a people his peop called out a people his people abraham's seed from england from egypt in them he sought not only to preserve knowledge of the truth that is knowledge of him yahweh and the plan of salvation but also to spread that knowledge to the rest of the world today hadoo and a question that they said for us to ponder on is today how do we a seven-day event to see ourselves in relation to the west rest of the world next lesson starts off by saying the exodus and all that is entailed from the blood of the doorpost in egypt to the drama at the red sea was one heck of an experience no himself in exodus 19 4 you have seen what i did to the egyptians and how i bore you on eagle's wings and brought you to myself deuteronomy 4 verses 3 verse 34 says why did the lord do this stunning and dramatic rescue rescue actually taking one nation out of another nation or as moses himself said to them or did god ever try to go and take for himself a nation from the midst of another nation by trials by signs by wonders by war by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and by great terrors according to all that the lord your god did for you in egypt before your eyes it was as simple as that god called them out the seed and the descendants of fathers abraham isaac and jacob and with these descendants the lord established his covenant having sprinkled a newly constructed altar with the blood of the offerings moses took the book of the covenant and read it to the audience of the people which is told in exodus 24 7. all that the lord has spoken we will do is found in exodus 19 verse 8. also in exodus 24 3 and exodus 24 7 though no doubt the people had met those words each time they said them sacred history shows that unfortunately their actions time and time again contradicted their words though they were the chosen people though they had entered freely into the covenant with the lord they didn't keep up to the end of the deal which really came down to one thing the call to obey god to keep his law was no more legalism than that it is now and yet again and again the children of israel failed to keep up their end of the deal indeed early on even in the very sight of mount sinai itself they fell into rank apostasy unfortunately unfaithfulness seemed to be more than the norm than the expectation and thus instead of quickly entering into the promised land they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years then as now so often disobedience occurs as a result not just as outright rebel rebellion though that does not though that does happen but from a failure to trust in what god tells us what made this sin even more heinous for israel was the fact that as god himself said all these men had seen my glory and the signs which i did in egypt and in the wilderness and have put me to the test now these 10 times which is found in numbers 14 22 despite all that they have seen experience they still refuse to obey the lord and to take the and to take the land despite god's promise that they will succeed the lesson concludes by providing a quote from john c peckham which was found in his in the book the odyssey of love cosmic conflict and the problem of evil part four the quote says in brief i argue that god's love properly understood is at the center of a cosmic dispute and that god's commitment to love provides a morally sufficient reason for god's allowance of evil with significant ramifications for understanding divine providence as operating within what i call confidential rules of engagement the title of this week's lesson was preamble to deuteronomy the in when moses brought the hebrew people out of egypt they marched from goshen to the edge of the red sea none of them knew the way but god did so he led the people with a huge pillar of cloud this cloud sheltered them from the hot sun during the day at night the cloud gave them light and heat as the people neared the promised land god told moses to choose one leader from each tribe these men were to spy out the land see what the land is like moses told the spies and bring back some fruit after 40 days the men returned the israelites came out to welcome the spies and hear their report caleb a strong tall man from the tribe of judah could hardly wait to give his report joshua a young leader from the tribe of ephraim also had a good report both caleb and joshua allowed the others to speak first the land flows with milk and honey just as god told us the spies reported and we have brought back some fruit two men stepped forward with the huge bunch of grapes they carried on a pole between them but the other spies only spoke about the walled cities and giants they saw in the land the people listening began to grumble and complain caleb could see that their mood was growing ugly suddenly he stepped between moses and the people we can go we can go up at once and take possession of the land he encouraged it is a good land and we can certainly do it how can we the ten discouraged spies complained we felt like grasshoppers beside those people and that is how we seemed to them the people raised their voices and cried all night long it would have been better for us to die in egypt or even here in the wilderness the people wailed why why is the lord taking us into that land we will be killed in battle and our wives and children will be captured let's go back to egypt moses and aaron fell with their faces to the ground caleb and joshua were distressed by israel's lack of trust in the lord they tore their clothes and held up their hands for silence the land we explored is excellent the two faithful spies exclaimed don't be afraid of the people who live there with god's help we will conquer them easily the lord is with us he has left them caleb looked out over the angry multitude the other 10 spies mixed with the crowd spreading discouragement caleb shook his head it was a good land a beautiful land rich and full of food after all it had taken two men to carry home one bunch of grapes yes the people of the land were powerful their cities were well protected but the children of israel had god on their side suddenly the crying and wailing of the people took an uglier turn let's stone them they muttered pointing to moses aaron caleb and joshua stone them stone them at that moment a dazzling light spread over the tabernacle the lord's tent the people backed away fearful squinting and shading their eyes with their hands then the lord spoke because you people are afraid of entering the land you will not do so you will wander in the wilderness until all of you who are adults die as for your children i will bring them in to enjoy the land you rejected but god promised caleb and joshua that they would go into the land because they spoke bible verses up read it for yourself so you can see the scriptures and allow god to speak to you as we're reading it so going into our main text for today we're in daniel 2 verse 44 and 45 and thank you to the sister who did the lecture for us i appreciate that thank you very much god bless you daniel 2 verse 44 45 it says and in the days of these kings the god of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed and the kingdom shall not be left to other people it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever and as much as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke the pieces in the the iron the bronze the clay the silver and the gold the great god has made known to the king what will come to pass after this the dream is certain and its interpretation is sure amen now many people have questions about the state of the world when we look at the world we don't need to lie to ourselves we don't need to make excuses to ourselves we see our world is in disaster right now we see wildfires taking control of california record-breaking fires people living in their homes and have to evacuate the next day because a fire is coming to burn down the entire neighborhood we see hurricanes in other parts of the world just the uh just a few months ago or a few weeks ago really a hurricane came and struck new orleans again the strongest one that they had since katrina and the hurricane so strong go all the way from louisiana up to start flooding flooding places in new york in new jersey we see in even our our home country our motherland in haiti we see what's going on every day we just wake up one morning and we find out the haitian president is assassinated in the middle of the night they just kill the president and then a few weeks later there's an earthquake in haiti it's like even our motherland can't catch a break one thing after another we see there's floods around the world there were places cities in europe that had more rain in one day than they had in a year there was a city in europe in 23 and 24 hours they had 23 inches of rain two feet of rain in one day flooding everywhere now we even hear about a volcano going on in spain people evacuating their houses in spain because the volcano coming and burning down the house is burning down everything in sight we see people have to abandon their lives run away start over because a natural disaster is coming through and that's the only i've only just spoken about natural disasters i didn't even get into the other issues of the world we have terrorist attacks going on we have the situation in afghanistan going on woman who used to go to school go to college now they tell these women they can't go out anymore they can't drive anymore they can't have a job anymore people who are where christians have to go into hiding because they don't need the they don't want the taliban to come and execute them you see the videos of the people trying to get on airplanes they're hanging onto the wings they're running for their dear lives because they know that if they stay home they may not make it much longer we see what happened just a week ago two weeks ago you look at the new somebody going to a grocery store and take his gun just start shooting people in the grocery store killing people you hear about men sexually assaulting women people abusing drugs abusing prescription pills people are our people today we're poisoning our minds with all the garbage on tv the things on tv we're watching are is teaching us things that are not of god's will people losing their minds people having a mental health crisis like never before so many people suffering mental health issues we see people losing their jobs just because they refuse to take a vaccine i think in new york in new york over 70 000 people just because they say they don't want to take a vaccine are losing their jobs nurses doctors the people that are supposed to be saving people now when they fire those people who's going to take care of the people it doesn't make any sense we even see in california just the i think just yesterday in california they passed they're trying to pass a law to say every kid who's going to school has to get vaccinated to go to school so people losing their jobs people can't go to school people can't go to work just because they don't want to take a vaccine because it's their choice and if they feel they don't want to now they're being persecuted because of it and the list goes on and on and on you probably know different things that are going on in the world that i don't even know about and people wonder when the madness is going to end people wonder if there's any hope for the world people wonder are things going to ever get better or are they going to continue to spout out of control and if the world is going to get worse people wonder if a politician is going to come save us is donald trump going to come back and make america great again is joe biden gonna turn around and save the planet if there's anything that anyone can do people are wondering how much longer can the world take of dis abuse the economic abuse the political abuse the environmental abuse the societal abuse people are wondering how much longer can our planet take this damage and the bad news is that it won't get better the world will be increasingly worse people are trying to look for the positives but the bible tells us where the world is headed when we read in matthew 24 verse 7 and 8 and please turn with me and if my technology people can put it up so our people online can see again i want you to read the word for yourself don't just take my word read it for yourself and see matthew 24 7 and 8 it says for nation will rise against nation kingdom against kingdom there will be famines pestilence earthquakes in various places and all these are the beginning of sorrows now when i read it i read that in the new king james version so that says the beginning of sorrows but in other versions maybe in the version you're reading it says in the beginning of birth pains all these are the beginning of birth pains we see another expression like this in isaiah 26 17. if you look in isaiah 26 17 it says as a woman with child is in pain and cries out in her pains when she draws near at the time of her delivery so have we been in your sight oh lord so when we talk about birth pains for those of us who are old enough to understand when people talk about birth pains when a woman is delivering a child she doesn't she's not just pregnant and then at month nine she just goes to the hospital she just sit down on the bed and then boom baby come out life goes on no there's a process the water breaks and when her water breaks she begins to have these contractions and first they're infrequent and they're mild they don't hurt as much but as the time to delivery gets closer and closer they become more frequent and not only do they become more frequent they become more painful and painful to the point that all that woman is dreaming of is for that baby to come out and all the nurses and say wait wait wait hold on just hold on a little bit more just hold on a little bit more the doctors say hold on a little bit more you can't give birth just yet and it is the same way that the bible is describing the way the world is turning we see events that we never thought could happen are happening in the blink of an eye things we never thought would ever occur and they're happening at a more severe rate they're happening more often it's happening even at a worse scale so again the bible makes it clear the world is not going to improve no matter how many laws we pass no matter how many politicians we elect no matter how much money we put in the economy no matter how much money we put in education no matter how much money we put in social justice the world will continue to spiral downward because the world does not have an economy problem the world does not have a societal justice problem the world does not have an environmental problem the world has a sin problem and as everybody here has sin in their lives this will cause our world to continue to dysfunction more and more and more there will be no age of aquarius that new agers talk about new agers they talk about the vibes the energy the universe they believe that the age of aquarius is gonna come and we're all gonna be woke we're gonna all wake up spiritually and that we're gonna live in an age of world peace and everyone's going to live on their highest vibrations but it's not true it's not going to happen there will be no christian dominionism we hear now in christianity people believe in dominionism they think that god has given us this assignment to have dominion over every single aspect of society and that when we take over every aspect of society we will create a pure bride for god to come back and come get the world but that's not true god is not coming back for a perfect world god is coming back for a perfect people a perfect people who are prepared to meet him and god makes it clear that when he comes the world will be as the days of noah and when we read in matthew 24 again read it for yourselves i want you to read it for yourselves and look matthew 24 verse 37 through 41 it says as in the days of noah were so also will the coming of the son of man be for as in the days before the flood there was eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage until the day that noah entered the ark and did not know until the flood came and took them all away so will the coming of man shall be the two men will be left in the field one will be taken in the other left two women will be grinding at the mill one will be taken and the other left so when we're reading this and when you read it in the greek when you read the greek and it says eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage that means the people of the world are living in la la land everybody's relaxing we're having a good time we're having fun we're living that's how the greek says it and while everyone is enjoying themselves and having pleasure they don't realize that the day of god is coming soon upon them and they will not expect when the judgment arrives now again if you want to know more about the days of noah look in genesis 6 genesis 6 verse 5 will tell you the lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every it would every not some not a little bit every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually that means all the time every single thought they had were sinful thoughts people did not care had no regard for what god had to say verse 12 and 13 also says god looked upon the earth and indeed it was corrupt for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth and god said to noah the end of all flesh come before me for the earth is filled with violence through them and behold i will destroy them with the earth now i went to college i have a bachelor's degree i have a master's degree but i'm not a rocket scientist i'm not going to pretend i'm the smartest person in the room but you tell me is the world filled with violence now yes or no is the world filled with corruption now yes or no are the thoughts of people evil continually now yes or no so logically logically if we are living in times that are similar to the times of noah then we shouldn't be surprised that the coming of jesus is soon and as we see here in this verse we live in a society where sin is ruling still sin is the dominant pleasure of the day corruption is everywhere violence is everywhere and meanwhile people are just indulging themselves in all type of vice all type of sin with pornography pornography is at an all-time high i couldn't even believe the statistic when i heard it they say on the internet 25 of all searches are related to pornography do you understand do you know what that means that means out of every four times people open google one out of those four times somebody is looking at something related to pornography that is a that means our our society is morally corrupted in terms of sexual purity we have no understanding of what it means to be sexually appear before god now people on social media i see now people are bragging about i got my sneaky link i have my sneaky link that mean that mean i got a little i got a little girl on the side that i have an affair with but nobody know you know nobody know that i'm with her she don't tell anybody that she with me we just do our little business on the side together and we bragging about this we proud about this we tell the world in my little this is my little side chick but what did god say what did god say about purity what did god say about dating what did god say about marriage we don't care we just threw it all out the window the lyrics in the most popular music we listen to can hardly even be called pure or honorable i'm not here to tell people that the only music you can listen to is christian music that's not true you can listen to other music that's not only christian music but the bible in philippians 4 verse 8 says whatever is good whatever is pure whatever is holy whatever is honorable think of those things meditate on those things now if i go to billboard.com or hot100.com or anything like that and i look up the top 10 songs and i open the lyrics for the top 10 songs right now how many of those songs you think are going to have anything positive or pure in there let's just be honest we we have to be honest with ourselves the bible even tells us so as we behold jesus we become more like him well if we behold the world what are we going to be more like the world so when we're looking at our music and the music talking about i got two girlfriends i got three girlfriends i got a side chick i sell drugs i shoot people i kill people i dis i doubt just listening to all type of wild music what do you think you're gonna what do you think your mind is gonna be more like where do you think your mind is gonna transform into again i'm not telling you the only music you can listen to is kirk franklin that's not my point my point is that if you're listening to music that talk about shooting people killing people robbing people have girlfriends have three girlfriends four girlfriends and then you come into church beni swale 10 now what are you doing like you're wasting your time you're you're in a disconnect right now you're in a disconnect again we have an addiction to legal and illegal drugs at an all-time high people popping percocet people pop xanax people pop all type of drugs people smoking like a lot of dope a lot of weed people just going crazy on the alcohol smoking crack it's just like people are abusing drugs and living in drugs to get away from the reality of life and then we see all the other things in society right now we see abortions continuing to increase people murdering their unborn children because they just don't want to take care of a child or don't want to take responsibility for having a child and people get mad at you when you say that they say it's my body my choice how dare you tell me what to do but then those same people are going to turn around and force you to take a vaccine and say it's not about your choice anymore it's about society so it doesn't make any sense how can you force people that they need to take a vaccine if they don't want to but if someone say maybe you shouldn't kill your unborn child because that's murder in god's eyes oh no my body is my choice we can't have it both ways you have to choose well you have to have a standard either you accept it one way or accept it the other but you can't cross the line when it's convenient for you and again not only that we see this the surgeries for transgenderism people people are being born and then they say oh i'm a man in a woman's body or i'm a woman in a man's body and people are spending their money to go to the doctor to chop off their god-given wee-wee to go put on a fake vagina god didn't create you to be another human being god if god made you a man you are a man if god made you a woman you are a woman there is no crossing the line yes you might be a guy you might like some girly things you might like you might be a guy you like sewing clothes okay you might be a girl you like playing sports okay that doesn't mean that you need to change your sexual organs just because of that but this is the world we're living in we live in a world that's telling people that the wrong thing that god said not to do that's what we should be doing because we need to be ourselves we need to be free we need to live our best lives now this is what our society is telling us but we don't realize that following what society says is literally leading us straight to hell we are not following god's path if we're trying to follow what the culture tells us to do now when we get to matthew 24 42 it also says watch therefore for you do not know what hour your lord is coming now does that mean that we have absolutely no idea when jesus is coming back what you think yes or no of course not just because we don't know what specific day or hour that jesus is coming back does not mean we don't know what season we're in that does not mean we don't know where we stand on the prophetic timeline of where jesus is coming back we can prove biblically that we're living in the last days we can prove biblically that we're living on the edge of eternity we are not millions of years away from jesus we are not thousands of years away from jesus we may not even be hundreds of years away from jesus we might only be a few decades away at the way that the world is turning right now even though we cannot say he's coming today or tomorrow he's coming much sooner than you or i think now this is why we need to turn to daniel 2 because as advances this is this is core doctrine here this is real theology once you understand daniel 2 this is this is what it means to understand biblical prophecy now there is daniel 7 as well revelation 10 revelation 13 etc but as young people as young people i know a lot of times we don't we don't know the doctrines we don't know what the 2 300 days is we don't know what the 70 week prophecy is we don't know what the mark of the beast is we don't know what the seal of god is but we're going i want to start by god's grace by finishing this message we're going to at least get a start in understanding biblical prophecy is that okay can i preach today now when we get to daniel 2 we're going to get through this whole chapter obviously we're not going to read the whole verse otherwise we'll be here forever but as you look through daniel chapter 2 just follow it along with me and we're just kind of scrolling down so daniel chapter 2 we're starting right at verse one you see right here who's the king of babylon nebuchadnezzar so we see nebuchadnezzar was the king of babylon in the time of daniel he at this time babylon was the premier empire of the whole world and his beauty was admired by all nations have any of you heard about the hanging gardens of babylon the hanging gardens of babylon no one heard it was considered one of the seven wonders of the world or eight wonders of the world but it was considered a beautiful empire almost all the streets and walls were lined with gold and precious metals and adornments great architectural projects it was a premier empire but as you see in verse one in only his second year of ruling nebuchadnezzar began to have dreams and these were not just ordinary dreams these weren't the type of dreams that you wake up and you just forget about them and then you try to remember them but you can't remember them no more so life goes on and you just do your thing no these dreams were prophetic these were prophetic dreams these were apocalyptic dreams in verse one it even says that the dreams troubled him so much he couldn't even sleep anymore to the point that he had enough and moving in the next verse he called his astrologers he called his magicians and he called his sorcerers so they can come help him interpret the dream but there was a catch he didn't tell them to dream if you read in the next verses he never told him the dream he said that if they could read his mind and tell him to dream what he dreamed about then he knew that they would be able to interpret it for him because when we look in verse 9 in verse 9 he gives his logic for why he doesn't do it because he knew that if he told them to dream they would just say whatever they want they would have twisted up a story just to make him feel good they would have said oh i had i had a dream about so and so so and so so and so they've been like oh yes king that just means this you're gonna be great you're gonna be prosperous you're gonna be wealthy they would have just told him what he wanted to hear so he said no no no no no i'm not gonna tell you what i dreamed about you're gonna tell me what i dreamed about because i know that if you can read my mind and tell me what i dreamed about then i know you can tell me what the dream means in the first place but they didn't know the all the wise men all the astrologers who were looking at the moon and the stars to tell them if things were going to happen what did scorpio say what does venus say all the magicians all the all the sorcerers who communicating with the dead spirits they couldn't tell him anything they had no idea they had no answer no response for him so because of that the king was fed up and he said because they cannot interpret his dream they should all be put to death because they're just worthless they can't do anything so just get rid of them but even with all the false prophets among nebuchadnezzar there was still a true prophet amen even though all of these wise men so-called wise men were in the dark arts following satan there was a remnant man who still followed the true and living god there was still a man who kept the commandments of god and had the spirit of prophecy oh my i wish i could preach to somebody today y'all not understanding what i'm trying to say but we're gonna get out to that another time this man who kept the commandments of god and had the spirit of prophecy this was none other than daniel daniel knew that the only person who could answer this prayer was god almighty and he and his friends went straight to prayer as you read in these verses verses 14-23 they went straight to prayer to ask god to reveal the dream and that god in his wisdom and in his glory would give daniel the understanding to not only know the dream but to interpret the dream for nebuchadnezzar so when daniel finally receives the vision from god on what the dream is and what the what the interpretation of it is he finally goes to the king and now you see he tells the dream in verses 31 verse 34. so if you're with me please read it yourselves as well while i read it verse 31-34 this is the dream not the interpretation just the dream it says you o king so he's talking to nebuchadnezzar you were watching and behold a great image this image great image whose splendor was excellent stood before you and its form was awesome this image's head was a fine gold its chest and arms of silver its feet partly of its legs of iron its feet partially of iron and partially of clay you watched while a stone was cut out without hands which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay and broke them in pieces so that's the dream but what's the interpretation we see in verse 36 through 45 and i'm gonna read it because we need you have you got to understand it to see where i'm getting to so daniel begins verse 36 this is the dream now we will tell the interpretation of it before the king you o king are a king of kings for the god of heaven has given you a kingdom power strength and glory and wherever the children of mendua or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven he has given them into your hand and has made you ruler over them all you are this head of gold but after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours and then another a third kingdom of bronze which shall rule over all the earth and the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything and like iron that crushes that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others whereas you saw the feet and toes partly of potter's clay and partly of iron the kingdom shall be divided yet the strength of the iron shall be in it just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay and as the toes of the feet were partially of iron and partly of clay so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile as you saw iron mixed with clay they will mingle with the seed of men but they will not adhere to one another just as iron does not mix with clay and in the days of these kings the god of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed and the kingdom shall not be left to other people it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron the bronze the clay the silver and the gold the great god has made known to the king what will come to pass after this the dream is certain in the interpretation is true amen now remember what i said in the beginning we do not know exactly what day or what hour jesus is going to return but we know the writing on the wall we know the season he's coming in because when we understand his prophecy it begins to come it begins to come to life we see that we are in the last days of earth history we see that jesus can come at any moment just on where we are so if we understand the vision of daniel 2 we will be able to see what happened in the past what's going on in the present and what's going on in the future am i right are you with me so to summarize daniel 2 verse 31-34 talks about an image with five main parts what's the five main parts help me we have a head of gold we have a what a chest and arms of silver what else we have bellies and thighs of bronze what else legs legs of iron yes and and we have a feet with iron and clay and then at the last part there is a stone with our hands that comes and crushes the feet and destroys the entire statue so we see verse 36 verse through 45 begins to interpret everything for us but so we need to understand who's the head of gold who is the head of gold well we don't need to guess because the bible already told us in verse 38 it says you are this head of gold he was talking to who nebuchadnezzar so that means the babylonian empire was the head of gold this babylonian empire ruled from 612 bc all the way to 539 bc this was a period of about 73 years and because it was one of the most beautiful empires of all time and because it used a lot of gold in its walls and its murals it was making sense why it was gold represented it as a kingdom now after we get to the babylonian empire which is the head of gold we get to a chest a chest with arms also made of silver now which kingdom would that be which kingdom would it be well obviously we know it has to be a kingdom but which one would it be we don't need to guess as well because we know that it is the medo persian empire we don't need to guess because when we look at daniel 5 30 and 31 it already tells us when we read daniel 5 30 and 31 what happened in the story for those of you who remember remember belch shazar remember belshazzar remember they were using god's furniture god's cups to party and have a good time what happened the hand that was writing on the wall and what did it say your time is coming and your kingdom is going to be divided so who the medes and the and the persians and then what happened persians came underneath the gate took over that very night so we already see prophetically what happened we had babylon who started off and middle persia came and took right over that's the chest of silver and the other reason we know that too is off of history that the middle persian empire also when they made people pay taxes they made them pay taxes in silver and their armies also wore silver now they reigned for 208 years so from the moment they conquered babylon 539 all the way down to 331 bc that was 208 years now we got the head we got the chest now we need to get to the belly and the thighs belly and thighs of bronze well what would that be huh well just from what we understand we see that it has to be a kingdom number one and it needs to be a kingdom that conquers the kingdom that's currently in place so what does history say who conquered the medo-persian empire to have global authority in the world it's none other than greece has anybody here heard of alexander the great so we all in history class we know alexander the great now alexander the great was undefeated in battle and by history standards he's considered one of the greatest generals of all time he took over his kingdom at the age of 20 when his father was assassinated and he came into power at 20. what were you doing at 20 years old what was i doing at 20 years old 20 years old i was a sophomore in college i wasn't ruling an empire i wasn't the head of a kingdom but at 20 years old he was the head of the greek empire and by the time he was 33 years old that means in 13 years he conquered the known world he conquered egypt he conquered turkey he conquered persia and he also had control of greece so the known world at that time was under the control of alexander the great in only 13 years now they were also considered the bronze kingdom because their soldiers wore bronze armor when they went to battle so when they defeated greece in 331 they ruled until about 168 so a period of about 163 years so again we got to the head which was babylon chess in arms which was mido persia we had the legs in the belly which was grease so now we have to get to the the legs the legs of iron now daniel 2 verse 40 says that a kingdom of iron that crushes and shatters the previous kingdoms who could this iron kingdom be now obviously again it has to be a kingdom and it has to be a kingdom that conquers greece so whiz kingdom conquers greece from what we know in the history books it was none other than duh iron monarchy of rome the roman empire the reason they're called the iron monarchy is because again they used a lot of iron and their soldiers also used a lot of iron people couldn't beat them in battle they were too strong just like the bible says they crushed their enemies in battle people would try to fight them and throw their swords and throw things at them and their swords would literally crumble because the iron was too hard compared to the brutal weapons they had so these soldiers didn't stand a chance against the roman army and because of that they became the dominant power of the world they were also the dominant power during jesus's time when we read the new testament who's in charge who's under who's in control of judea pontius pilate right and who did pontius pilate work for he was a roman governor so rome was the one in control during the life of jesus and as we see too they ruled they conquered greece in 168 bc and they ruled until 476 a.d after the death of jesus so if you do the math that's 644 years now i just told you previously that babylon rule for 73 middle persian rules for 208 greece ruled for 163. if you add all that up together that only adds up to 444 years now rome alone ruled for 640 years so that means rome ruled longer than all of those empires combined with an additional 200 years which again proves what the bible said these kingdoms will last longer and longer as time goes on now again like i said we talked about the head which was babylon chest arm silver which is belly thighs which is and then the legs of iron which is so now we have to get to the feet and the feet had iron and clay all right so when we get to the feet about iron and clay the bible versus in uh daniel 2 41 and 42 it says that these kingdoms would be divided it said they're going to try to mingle together they're going to try to work together but no matter what they do it's not going to work they're gonna try to align themselves and unite themselves together but no matter how hard they try they will not unite again so as we see because it still has iron which was the roman empire and the iron still runs into the feet that means it's just a piece of rome this is a broken up rome with broken up peoples within it this is just the leftovers of the roman empire so to speak and as you see this now is not the roman empire anymore but this becomes a divided europe this is a divided europe now just as there are ten toes on your feet well if you have normal genetics you know some people have 11 12 toes but if you have normal feet 10 toes you'll see that there were also 10 kingdoms that evolved from the roman empire we had the ostrogoss the visigoths the franks the vandals the almins the sweeves anglo-saxons the hurls the lombards and the burgundians now some of you if i read the names you can tell where these nations turn into if i told you about the franks what nation you think came from the franks friends if i say the al-mai who came from almighty germany germany came from almighty if i say lombards if i say my last name is lombardi what that sound like what that sound like lombardi italian italians the lombards the italians descended from the lombards now we have all these people the visigoths they descended from spain the swedes they descended from port they're they're the the ancestors of portugal the the la and the burgundians are the ancestors of the swiss people now you notice i only spoke about seven of them because three of them are no longer in existence and the funny part is that revelation talks about those three kingdoms no longer being in existence but again that's another story for another time we're just gonna focus on the towers now as we read verse 43 we see that these kingdoms will try to unite they will try to have political alliances with one another they're going to try to have political marriages with one another they're going to even go to war to conquer one another if you all you hear have read your history books you see it clearly the kings of spain try to marry some of the the queen of france or some king in england or prince in england is going to try to marry someone from portugal these kings in queens would try to unite because they thought that by marrying and intermarrying they would have more stability and they would unite with one another but as we saw it didn't work the marriages would break up divorces would happen wars would happen anyway so no matter what people try to do to unite it would still fall apart and even then people would try to go to war to combine things you had people like charlemagne has anybody heard of charlemagne has anybody heard of napoleon has anybody heard of benito mussolini has anybody heard of hitler and what did they all try to do what did hitler try to do he wanted to create one pure race but how did he try to do it by conquering every single nation and then he was going to exterminate all those people and then he was going to put all his uh aryan race so they can have one pure race it was a twisted thought but that's what he thought he was going to do he thought he was going to unite europe and create one superhuman race mussolini felt the same thought he was gonna have fascist italy conquer all these other countries and have italy one united power under the what they call the third reich or something like that i think that's germany but you get the point but just like they all tried just like the bible said they all fell none of them could stand up to what the word of god already said so as you see babylon gone me to persia gone greece gone roman empire gone so the only thing that is remaining right now is europe modern europe that's the only thing that's here right now and what's next is that it is it just europe for the rest of our lives no because when we read verses 44 and 45 we see what's gonna happen so please again look for yourselves verse 44 verse 45 it says it clearly and in the days of these kings the god of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed and the kingdom shall not be left to other people it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron the clay the silver and the gold the great god has made known to the king what will come to pass after this the dream is certain and the interpretation is true and sure now again verse 44 it says in the days of these kings the god of heaven will set up what what is god gonna set up what is god gonna set up a kingdom and what what's gonna happen to that kingdom it shall never be what so all these kingdoms that came before us are destroyed but god's kingdom is gonna come and it's never gonna be destroyed and what happens it says it shall break in pieces and do what is going to consume all of these kingdoms and it shall stand how long five years 10 years how long is going to stand for ever so my brothers and sisters do you know where i'm trying do you know where i'm going with this do you understand what i'm trying to say i'm trying to tell you that we're living in the last days this is where we're at people are wondering how much longer do we have i'm telling you we don't have much longer because the bible is telling you you don't have much longer all the kingdoms that the bible is predicting are all crumbling one by one there's only one left and after that there's the rock of ages that's gonna smash everything and bring his kingdom here for eternity so that means you don't have time you don't have as much time as you think you do so again if god was right about babylon and then by the way this is another fun fact for you when god gave daniel this revelation this was a thousand years before rome and europe even came into existence so that means god saw the end from the beginning again so if god knew about babylon and if god knew about me to persia and if god knew about greece and if god knew about rome and if god knew about europe would he be lying about the rock of ages would he be lying about the last part if he was right about the five parts so that means we do not know what day or hour specifically jesus is coming back brothers and sisters but it is clear from bible prophecy that we are in the season we are in a season where jesus can come back at any moment in terms of prophecy we are right on the edge we are in the feet we are even in what we say the toenails haitian people say we at the end of the prophecy is almost no time left so that means we're literally on the edge of history brothers and sisters god is knocking on the door time is almost up you don't have time to play anymore if you see what's going on on tv it's clear as day is nothing on tv that's gonna save you it's nothing in this music that's gonna save you there's nothing going on around the world that has more importance than what god got going on for you so again my brothers and sisters now is not the time to play church you see the way the world is turning i don't need to convince you you turn on the tv you see it for yourself you open instagram your your tick tock you see it for yourself you see what's going on i don't need to convince you and you have no idea when your time is going to end as well there's no guarantee that you're going to be alive when jesus comes back there's no guarantee you don't know you could be in a car on the way home today and get hit in a car accident and finish your life that's it and this sermon will be the last thing you ever heard now by the grace of god that's not going to happen to anybody but the reality is you cannot take your life for granted you do not know when it's going to finish i say this i said this at the last sermon i had my mom on mother's day she i didn't even get to say good morning to her i was still in bed and i woke up from a phone call from her she said come get me i'm at an intersection i got in a car accident i got over there on mother's day and the car was completely destroyed completely totaled because while she was heading to work somebody's running a red light and just demolishes her car so that means that that could have been my last day ever seeing my mom and i didn't even get to say good morning to her that day so that means that could have been the last time i ever spoke to her again i didn't even have a chance to say good morning i love you nothing just i will i go to sleep and i wake up in the morning i hear my mom die in a car accident so that just show you like you cannot take this world for granted you can be driving and you could be gone you could go to school and the school gets shot up you could be okay and then next thing you find out you got coveted or you got cancer or you have some random disease that come take you and wipe you out that's just really how the world works that is how the world works i don't want it to happen to anybody i pray to god it doesn't happen to anybody here but you have to have your life set up with god that if something happens you can go in peace knowing that your next waking moment is with jesus christ that's the life you have to be living now why not be a part of the remnant like daniel why not be someone who has who follows the commandments of god and has the spirit of prophecy why wouldn't you want to be somebody like that why while everyone else is lost in their living in their merry lives we need to be focused in knowing what god has already given because god has already given us the outline of what's going to happen next again if we follow god's word if we read revelation if we understand daniel if we read the spirit of prophecy we see that god has already given us the game plan god has already drawn out the outline for what has happened what's happening and where it's going and if you not studying if you're not focused in your word you're going to get swept up and distracted just like everybody else people so caught up in stuff on tv that just don't matter what the kardashians are doing what this athlete is doing what is famous rapper is wearing what clothes he got on that don't matter in five years from now those clothes gonna be worn out five years from now that's not even gonna be the new fashion anymore five years from now there's gonna be new celebrities new music so you're just keeping up with stuff that really had no relevance but the bible says the the the grass withers the flower faded but the word of our god stands for er verb so that means this is the only thing you have that's you gonna take with you all the money you have is gone all the houses you got the cars the clothes everything is gonna be gone the only thing you have to stand on is god's word so again my brothers and sisters i don't say this to scare you i'm not saying this to make you fear to giving your life to christ but i want you to understand that we need to prepare ourselves because there's a kingdom that's coming my brothers and sisters there's a kingdom that's coming there were kingdoms that came before the head of gold came it was grand but it had an end the chest of silver it was grand but it had an end the thighs they had an end the legs they had an end the feet in clay while they're still here doing their thing one day they're going to have an end and at the very end there is going to be a rock that comes that destroys the toes destroys the feet destroys the thighs destroys the chest destroys the head so that king which is jesus christ will come and establish his everlasting kingdom you got to be ready for that day my brothers and sisters let the holy spirit convict your heart if you know you're not ready for that day pray that god will change you pray that god will mold you pray that god will transform you to make you that man that he call you to be to be that woman that he call you to be so when that glorious day come you don't have to run in shame and say hide us mountains hide us rocks and cover us oh you want to be the person when jesus comes you can say this was the god that we were waiting for our whole lives we went through all this misery we went through all this suffering but we're good we don't have to worry anymore because we're going to spend time with jesus forever brothers and sisters take it to heart take it to heart may god's love transform you may the holy spirit help you grow more and more day by day so you can understand that we are a last day people brothers and sisters people are out there suffering people in other churches are suffering they don't know what's going on they don't know how satan is trying to deceive all of them but while we understand why we have the game plan while we have the spirit of prophecy in the word of god we need to prepare ourselves for that last day brothers and sisters so
