appeal [Music] shall we be found involved away lord we stand here before you this morning amen with our savior lord we pray that we'll be able to stand so that your name can be lifted thank you up much lord for this time with you this morning we pray lord in our time of prayer lord we pray that this time will not be a waste is welcome to those online i'll read from psalms 135 verses 1 2 and 3 4 are called to worship praise the name of the lord praise him o you servant of the lord you who stand in the house of the lord in the courts of the house of our god praise the lord for the lord is good sing praises to his name for it is pleasant the church is now called to worship today's offering is going to christian media i'll read here a little no more than ever people are looking for encouragement and hope as they face the challenges of living in this complex world in times like these everyone deserve to hear about god's love however as a christian it can be tough to share your welcome once again to my friends from the lower division uh today's story is it may sound funny but really it turns out later on that uh it was not a very funny story uh when it came to an end uh you know that uh i i don't know you guys have seen uh like how i'm an old man right older men i don't know what i should say old or older men right but you'll understand what i mean you see when men get old they begin to lose their hair right so you'll see maybe some of them it starts from the front here it goes backwards up until you know maybe the hair is only on the sides um in in my family uh all my uh my father's brothers and my father included when he was still alive they used to bald from the top top of the head going forward so you see that that's it can be funny to look at right because when hairs that's falling you know you can calm it some try to to brush the hair to cover it and do all sorts of things you know to try to look young and try to look like they still have all their hair right so once upon a time there was a a an old man who had lost his hair and i'm sure when they looked at him it was funny right so the old man was going about his business uh and uh he going up and a bunch of kids saw this man hey look at that guy he doesn't have hair instead of laughing right so you you know how it is when when you guys see something funny you call it yo come and see come and see me look look look what's up in his hair can't even call me there look and they started laughing and they had fun they loved the old men they loved little did they know that this old man was a man of god see so the man was walking up and going about his business and these kids were just having a ball they were just laughing followed them hey you bald man oh get up go go go yeah they call hey peter come come and see man this old man doesn't have hair hey john come come hey sandra come and see stay calling each other and laughing at the old man until this old man the man of god had had enough and he turned and cursed these children so you see back in the day i don't know about today but back in the day when you got cursed by a man of god it was not a small thing it was very serious you know so as soon as he cursed them and as soon as that curse went out right maybe let me pause here for a second for you guys just to explain a small thing for you you see the bible tells us that whatever you bind on earth in my name it is also bound in heaven so this was a prophet this man of god was a prophet and the curse that he pronounced on these kids it did not end just him and the kids cursing him that was honored by heaven as well and guess what happened guess what happened anybody knows what happened go ahead listen what happened after that yes bears came out and what happened these bears devoured these kids bears came out who called the best remember last week talking about an old man of god who was preaching and saying it was going to rain and the animals came who called the animals you see and today we are talking about an old man he pronounced a curse on these children and bears came out and mauled these children and devour them in simpler language these the bears killed these children as punishment for laughing at the man of god so what is the lesson for us today what is the lesson for us today the bible says children obey your parents in the lord children obey your parents in the lord obey is the same as you also respect you cannot obey someone whom you do not respect right and if the if this by by lesson we can extend it right anyone who is old or anyone who's older or anyone they may not be your biological parents but we learn from our from a young age that they are worthy of honor reverence or a and respect the same way as honor and reverence and respect our parents they are the same as our parents so the lesson for this morning is we need to respect our elders we need to respect everyone who is older than us they may not be our biological parents but they are old enough to be your parents they are they they can correct us they can guide us they can reprimand us and that is okay because all are working to help us as we grow up to be good boys and girls so that is our story this morning we have to respect our elders we have to respect them we have to give them honor and reverence that they deserve that is our story for this morning hope you guys will have a lovely sabbath we shall bow our heads and pray at this time father in heaven we thank you for this morning that you bring a lesson that reminds us of small things that may that are everyday happening in our lives that we have to respect our elders we may forget sometimes or we may get carried away with the times that we live in but we ask that you may impress in our minds every time that we have to respect our elders and not only our biological parents but everyone who is older than us we thank you for this reminder this morning in jesus name amen i don't know about you but i've been asked to pray this morning when i was just reflecting on prayer i thought of the other churches that all pray at the same time you come in you hear everybody is praying i was thinking like why do they do that but what we are going through these days i think everyone is praying and everyone is crying to god i've been i've been asked to pray but please pray wherever you are seated pray with me uplift me in prayer as well as i pray because we are going through a lot it is a blessing that we are still alive we hear a lot of death messages almost every day people dying in their numbers in the same family have you ever paused to think why you are still alive even now it's not that you are clever or you have done anything good to god but it is just the grace of god and his mercy that has been has kept us alive up to now so we shall i shall ask i will ask the church to kneel as we pray feet of jesus [Music] [Music] at the feet of jesus [Music] for his love has been so present [Music] our kind and heavenly father we just want to say thank you for allowing us to come in your presence for allowing us to come into this sanctuary into this holy place to give glory and honor to you father may you allow us and teach us to worship you in truth and in spirit father may we be genuine with you and may you cleanse us from the inside to the outside so that we can be holy and presentable into this thy sight father i ask for forgiveness as i kneel here to pray to you may my may our prayer be acceptable in your sight father we want to thank you because on our knees we are strong on our knees we are safe on our knees we talk to you even if we kneel here and just cry you understand the language of tears father you know our prayer before we even ask father we want to thank you for keeping us alive when some people are dying in their numbers when some families have been affected in such a big way father we want to bring glory and honor to you father father if there was a time that we need to keep our mouths open just to praise you and to bring glory to glory to you it is now lord because you have done a lot of for us you have provided for us you have given us jobs you have given us family you have given us cars you have given us food everything father you have provided for us father there are no ways that we can use to show how we appreciate what you are doing for us we just want to say thank you lord father i just want to pray for the bereaved may you reach out to every heart that is grieving father because you can do a better job than us may you comfort them and may you give them the assurance that you are there father you are not sleeping nothing is is going has taken you by surprise and father let us in them know father that you have a plan for us even when we see no light at the end of the tunnel but father you are there may you allow us to see you and you alone father i just want to pray for the sick in hospitals at home everywhere father may you come through for them and provide the healing that they are asking for may you hear their prayers father want to pray for everybody who is going through work who is going through a lot some people are going through a life of no peace some are always running always hiding always facing these difficult situations father may you be there for them may you bring peace to their lives some are homeless we just want to pray for the widows for the orphans father may you provide for them father i just want to pray for the pastor as he's going to go come and break the bread of life father may you prepare our hearts to receive you to hear you to see you father father thank you for speaking to us from the time the pastor started to talk to us at 8 30 in the morning father you have been speaking to us through the time of prayer of concentration through the time of sabbath school you have been speaking to us father teach us to forgive and move on father you have forgiven us in big things that sometimes people don't even know but you have forgiven us father what can make us fail to forgive our brothers to forgive our sisters to forgive our pastor to forgive our parents to forgive our husbands our spouses father there is nothing that can make us fail to do this if we call upon you father may we just take it as it is that we we are going to forgive starting from today going forward we are going to forgive because you have forgiven us thank you lord for your grace and mercy that is sufficient for us that covers everybody thank you for your blood father that was shared on the cross to redeem us from seeing father we were not put with the money or with cows or with anything but we're bought by your precious love for us father we just want to thank you may you come in us and dwelling us because with you there is nothing further that can fail us we would rather have you further than have all these things that the world can afford father we don't want to miss 8 verse 14. daniel 8 verse 14 and i read and he said to me for 2 300 days then the century shall be cleansed here in the reading of god's holy word all right for our meditation we will sing here a thank you praise team for the beautiful singing and for blessing us this morning good morning church good morning edmonton north sda church here on online i'd like to especially welcome each of you it's great to have you in the house of worship once again a brand new sabbath another sabbath of refreshing another time for us to experience god's presence and his peace so it's great to see each of you how have you been enjoying this time of prayer i hope you have been blessed i know i have been blessed from last sabbath until this sabbath and our last one will be on sunday 8 30. that's the one we would like to hear your testimonies would like to hear what the lord said to you what is he telling you what have you heard what did you learn that we can benefit from together as a church that we can incorporate in our church family so that's the goal one of our things as we pray together so let's keep on praying for each other even after the time of prayer is done remember our theme passage is that we would ask the lord to search our hearts and try us and see if there's any hurtful way in us and lead us in thy way everlasting forever lord we want him to lead us in his way forever amen that sounds good that's what we want the lord to do for us so it's it's wonderful to seek the lord because he has something he wants to tell us so bow your heads with me i don't want to take too much time i want to use the time to share the word with you this morning so borrow your heads with me as we pray together our father in heaven lord we have been praying like daniel i've been praying and prayed and lord we want to hear from you we are pleading lord we realize that as a family we're going through so much this is not like a normal family where there is five or six or maybe 10 or so but lord there's over a hundred of us here there's a lot of different dynamics some are still hurting some are healed and who knows we might be getting ready to hurt someone else so lord we pray in our dynamics and in our challenges and in our mixtures and in our cultures and in our various ways young and old veterans and those who are just new we pray father that you will speak to us we want to know what to do like david please give wisdom to us as leaders to know how to lead your church you're the head so we want to know how to follow you i ask that you use me with the words that you have given this morning and that we will be able to have a fellowship time together in jesus name amen amen thank you for reading the scripture elder and for leading out in daniel chapter 9 8 14 and daniel chapter 8 verse 14. it says he said to me for 2 300 evenings and mornings then the holy place will be properly restored i'm reading from the nasb the new american standard version now read it again he said to me for 2 300 evenings and mornings then the holy place will be properly cleansed it will be properly cleansed so a man in the crowd says to jesus jesus can you tell my brother to divide the inheritance so that we can share it together and jesus says to him who made me a judge over you an arbitrary who is going to make me a judge over you he says that a man's life is not consist in the possession that he has and then he tells them a parable he says this man he had plenty the farm was doing well the garden was was blooming and it was blossoming and it was bearing much fruit and he said to himself self what will i do i will tear down this barn and i will build another one and the lord came to that man and says you fool tonight your life will be required of you after that whose things will these be so it is important for us that the treasure that we store is one that we store in heaven with god a question for you do you know your future do you know your future what is important i'm going to ask you three things what is important tell me which one of these are important a little quiz life or death just shout it out life life or money life this one is tricky life or god are you sure you need life hidden in god and god's spirit in you so you need them both but your life has to be hidden in god our theme is on the judgment and we're looking at it from the the lens of prayer so after this desolation god's sanctuary must be restored that's what the bible tells us it must be restored back to its rightful place to its rightful state and the bible tells us that until 2 300 days right it will be restored so everyone at that point has a chance to make things right everyone all right decision is necessary for for god in righteousness through purposeful prayer watching and praying and receiving the necessary skill to understand the details of god's plan for his people knowing these plans will help us personally for our own future plans so i want to talk to us on this subject with daniel i first thing that i see with daniel in this particular book is that daniel was a man who prayed with a purpose daniel was a man of prayer he prayed three times a day he maintained his connection even in difficult times and what i noticed that this prayer life that he had prepared him for something that he needed to be prepared for his prayer life prepared him for the day when he had an intense need to pray more earnestly he pleaded powerfully and purposefully to god for the mercy on behalf of god's people so what led daniel to do this intense prayer why did daniel have to do this what was on his heart what was troubling him the only way we can figure that out is we need to look at the two visions that daniel experienced the first one is in daniel chapter seven and the second one is in daniel chapter eight in daniel chapter seven it was the first year of belcher shazar the king of babylon daniel saw four winds of heaven which means calamity or disaster or evil that was stirring up the great sea and sea we could say is nations and people four great beasts different from each other coming up from the sea and the sea remember we said it's a mighty or chaotic place for the people of god in ancient times the images of the beast distressed and alarmed daniel have you ever been distressed have you ever been alarmed well daniel was stressed and he was alarmed the interpretation was this that this would be both good news and bad news for the people of god in daniel chapter 7 17 to 18 we read it tells us that the four great beasts are four kings also four kingdoms that will arise from the earth but the saints of the highest one that's the people of god will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever for all ages to come so what concerned daniel most was the fourth beast something was wrong with this beast which will be the fourth kingdom on the earth which will be different from the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth it tread down and crushed it so this particular king will speak get this against god it will wear out the saints of god he will seek to change to change times in laws and the people of god will be given into his hands for twelve hundred and sixty days or we could say in six twelve hundred and sixty years as prophecy god's court will sit in judgment his power will be taken will be taken away and he will be annihilated and destroyed forever that's the fourth piece so we got some hope we've got some good news already we know there is some bad news god's people will be crushed but we see that there is good news that this beast will also be crushed so in the end god's kingdom will be on everlasting kingdom and all dominions will will serve and obey him this is in the end that's how it's going to be you're wondering well look at this world now does it look like god is ruling your wonder well one day god will be ruling supremely so when daniel heard this his thoughts alarmed him greatly and his face went pale he could not share it with anyone he kept it to himself have you ever felt that way where you had to keep something to yourself it was too disturbing you didn't know what to do with it daniel kept this to himself the next vision it didn't help daniel much more in daniel chapter 8. it's the third year now of the same king daniel received another vision and this time it was shown only only two of the kingdoms in dan as well as as was in daniel chapter seven but now they were in a different form they were ram which means media persia and goat which equals greece and then there was the little horn which i think here is the king of the north and we can see reference of this in daniel chapter 8 verse 9 to 12 and 11 45. so let's look at some of this scripture it says out of one of them in daniel chapter what did i say daniel chapter 8 verse 8 i'm going to read from verse 8 is where i should read from i have nine in mind so let's turn to daniel chapter 8 and it says this then the male goat magnified himself exceedingly but was soon but as soon as he was mighty the large horn was broken and it's in its place there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven and verse nine it says out of one of them came forth a rather small horn which greatly exceedingly great which grew exceedingly the south toward the east and toward the beautiful land it grew up to the host of heaven and caused some of the hosts and some of the stars to fall to the earth and it trampled them down even magnified itself to be equal with the commander of the host are you hearing the scripture and it removed the regular sacrifices from him and the place of his sanctuary was thrown down and on account of the transgression the host will be given over to the horn along with the regular sacrifices it's not looking good and it will fling through through truth to the ground and perform its will and prosper are you hearing the scriptures then i heard a holy one speaking and another holy one said to that particular one who was speaking how long will the vision about the regular sacrifice apply while the transgression causes horror so as to allow both the holy place and a host to be trampled this was a huge question for daniel and then the answer came back to him from one of them he said to me for 2 300 evenings and mornings and then the place will be properly restored and we also see in in daniel chapter 11 verse 45 he will pitch the tents this is the the the little horn i'm thinking here he will pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful holy mountain yet he will come to his end and no one will help him so yes there is bad news but there is also good news the two visions overwhelm daniel on an emotional level and the second vision exhausted him and made him sick for many days daniel didn't know what to do with these visions so this was where he felt an intense need to pray with a purpose so when you feel confused you feel overwhelmed you gonna lose it pray take some time to pray don't just utter a few words take a night of prayer it will do you good wake up early in the morning and pray instead of going to the bottle like some or going for like others take some time to pray so that's what daniel did he pleaded powerfully and purposefully to god for the mercy on behalf of his people he wasn't praying so much for himself but he was praying for the people of god because he saw something was wrong after he did this he watched and prayed in other words he waited for the answer at times we pray but we don't wait for god to give us the answer we just run off and we do our own thing anyway and we wonder why we're disappointed but daniel he watched and he prayed he continued praying and he continued watching then something amazing happened i'll give a few notes first before i share that with you daniel was pleading on behalf of his fellow men do you wish someone cared about you this much like daniel that they would pray on your behalf based on what you're going through the vision from god disturbed daniel have you ever been disturbed lately by what you've seen or heard he did not understand it though the interpretation was given it still wasn't clear to him he wanted to know what it meant in daniel chapter 9 he sought the lord in prayer he pleaded with god for mercy which means he's supplicated not any normal way but with sock clef and ashes he humiliated himself he afflict himself he didn't eat then god sent gabriel to give him something special this something special i believe is something that we all need to make it in these last days this is the main part of this message that i'm sharing with you this morning in daniel chapter 9 verse 20 and 23 this is what gabriel said to daniel now while i was speaking daniel says and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people israel and presenting my supplication which is a plea for mercy before the lord my god on behalf of the holy mountain of my god while i was still speaking in prayer then my my the man gabriel whom i had seen in the vision previously came to me in my extreme wariness about the time of the evening offering in verse 22 he gave me instruction and talked with me and said oh daniel i have now come forth to give you insight we're going to come back to that word but not just insight but insight with understanding it might say in your virgin skill or something else at the beginning of your supplication this is not gabriel speaking at the beginning of your supplications the commandment was issued and i have come to tell you for you are highly esteemed so give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision he's about to tell him now before we go there you can read that up it's daniel chapter 9 verse 24 to 27. that's what gabriel told him daniel chapter 9 verse 24 to 27 i'll come back to that but we need to spend some time on this word that i want to tell you about that we all need skill with understanding in the hebrew the word is sakaal it means and i'll share some of the words in english skill intelligence and this is in daniel chapter 1 verse 7 we find skill and intelligence i believe i have that marked here in daniel chapter 1 verse 14 it says and this was early for the hebrew boys in babylon it says as for these four youths god gave them knowledge and intelligence that's the word right there and in every branch of literature and wisdom daniel even understood all kinds of vision and dreams continuing on in daniel chapter 9 verse 22 we see the word again in daniel chapter 9 verse 22 where we just read in the scripture there it says and he gave me instruction and talked with me and said oh daniel i have now come forth to give you insight with understanding insight it's used there in daniel chapter 9 verse 25 we see it again understand and discern we see that there in daniel chapter 9 25. then we see also in some other scriptures that i'll share daniel chapter 11 verse 33 35 daniel chapter 12 verse 3 and 10. and i'll read those verse 33 it says those who have insight and i want you to see how important this word is listen to what happens with those who have it those who have insight among the people will give understanding to many yet they will fall by the sword so yes difficulties will come they'll fall by the sword and by flame by captivity by plunder for many days that's daniel chapter 11 33 verse 35 some of those who have insight will fall in order to refi to refine purge and make them pure until the end of time very important because it is still to come at the appointed time so while we're waiting for jesus to come some of us need to be refined in verse 2 chapter 12 verse 3 it says those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever are you seeing the power of this important message many will be purged this is daniel chapter 12 verse 10. many will be purged purified refined but the wicked will act quickly and none of the wicked will understand but those who have insight will understand let me share some other references in deuteronomy 32 verse 28 to 29 it says for they are a nation lacking in counsel that's the word plan or advice and there is no understanding in them would they would i would that they were wise that's the word that they understand this that they would discern their future in joshua chapter 1 verse 8. here's another one cause to have insight to come to prosper i'm going to have to read that one just so that you can get the context that is a very familiar verse that we read all the time in joshua chapter 1 verse 8 where the lord told joshua to not let the word depart okay let me chapter 1 verse 8 it says this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth but you shall meditate on it and night so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it for then you will prosperous and then you will have success or insight that's the word right there the next one is nehemiah 8 verse 13. it says then on the second day the heads of the father's households all of the people the priests and the levites were gathered to ezra and described that they might gain insight into the words of the law ii chronicles 30 verse 22 it says then hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the levites who showed good insight in the things of the lord so that they ate for the appointed seven days sacrificing peace offerings and giving thanks to the lord god of their fathers another one nehemiah 9 20 it says you gave your good spirit to instruct or cause to have insight to them now remember the prophets they rejected the people of god rather they rejected the prophets but what were the prophets trying to give them insight when they read the word of god when they heed the message of god they rejected the insight in first chronicles 28 verse 19 it says all this said david the lord made me understand or that same word insight in writing by his hand upon me all the details of this pattern what is that that's the sanctuary then david said to his son solomon be strong and courageous and act do not fear nor be dismayed for the lord god my god is with you he will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the lord is finished so what does insight do for the people of god it gives a clear picture of god's plan for time and eternity it gives a clear picture of god's plan for his people it also makes it very gives a clear picture of his plan for the enemy we need insight we need wisdom we need understanding we need to gain some understanding of what god is telling us this is what gabriel came to give daniel and because daniel got insight here we are now receiving the book of daniel for our learning are you benefiting from reading the book of daniel well let's work out a little bit more of this detail so daniel he prayed he prayed earnestly he prayed purposely and then god gave him what he needed are you receiving what you need and you pray is it working for you so let's look at some of these details the judgment takes place in daniel chapter 7 verse 9 and 10. and around the throne we see the heavenly judgment took place in daniel 8 14. 2 300 evenings and mornings it patterns the annual atonement in leviticus 16 29 to 30 and 23 27-29 the cleansing of the sanctuary meant a lot for the israelites in leviticus 16 29 to 30 we see here the seventh month the tenth day that the people have to humble themselves and do no work they must atonement must be made to cleanse them they would be clean from all their sins or not if they did not follow the instructions a permanent statue was set up they had to present an offering as we see in leviticus 23 verse 27. so the vision after 300 days applies to the time of the end in daniel chapter 8 19 we see it said it says he said behold i am going to let you know what will occur at the final period of the indignation for it pertains to the appointed time of the end it was at the appointed time that the angel gabriel gave daniel insight it was at this time that he did this now before i give you the summary i want to share something more that i discovered in this book of daniel in daniel chapter 12 in daniel chapter 12 verse 1. and if you have a subtitle in your bible it says the time of the end it says now at that time michael do you know what michael means who is like god that word literally means who is like god el means god mike means who and the rest you have to fill in the verb who is like god the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people it says will arise and there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time there's going to be some difficult times coming and some generations have already have already experienced their difficult time just go back through scripture and look at some of the challenges some people experienced there was a flood we weren't there that was their challenge we think of the issue in sodom and gomorrah right there's a challenge there's a difficult time for each generation we're not exempted unless god cuts it short in righteousness like the bible says let's continue on and at that time your people everyone who is found written in the book will be rescued so if our names are not found written in the book of life we cannot be rescued we need to know jesus for ourselves personally so yeah your name can be written in the last book of life in verse two it says many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake so yes covet is taking the lives of your loved ones but if they know jesus don't weep as if there's no hope for them let's look at another part it says these uh these ones who arise from the dust these to everlasting life but the others to this grace and everlasting contempt if you don't know jesus it's not going to be nice it's not going to look good verse 3 says those who have insight will shine bright will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven and those who lead the lead many the many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever so there is a work that is there for the people of god to do which is to lead many to righteousness so god is calling us in this time to serve like last week we talk about service and how it's an act of worship well look at this we can lead others to righteousness we have time we have time now the judgment started in 1844 we have time but don't wait until the time is gone we need to do it now now is the time now is the time to do our work so in summary daniel was a man of purposeful prayer he prayed purposefully he prayed and then he watched while he was praying then after that he waited and god gave him skill or insight with understanding and then we need to take some time to work out the details uh i wanted to share this with you just the details part i'll share a few quick things about the details so in 457 bc was when the decree was given for the temple to be rebuilt after the children of israel would have left babylon so they left and they would have built that if you want to learn more about that in the book of ezra so 457 bc so from 457 bc to ad34 we see that the gospel went to the gentiles i'll just give you the summary version here so i'm going to give you some dates i'll fire them out on you so 457 bc ad27 ad31 ad34 so in those periods we see the com restore jerusalem that's that was the 70 weeks that was given to daniel 69 weeks 483 days or years from 84 from bc 457 to 80 27 that took place at 80 27 jesus's baptism took place from 8 11 to 80 31 that's three and a half years jesus was crucified then another three and a half years which takes us to 80 34 the gospel went to the gentiles then after the gospel went to the gentiles there was remaining 1810 years so from the gentiles 18 30 to 83 from 80 34 to 1844 which is 80 1844 the judgment has begun so that's where we are now waiting for jesus it's coming we're not waiting for jesus is coming because jesus is in the heavenly sanctuary and he's making the preparations for us so our time is very short and the enemy knows his time is short so his goal is to keep us from make it into the kingdom so this is why we need insight we need insight with understanding so that as we pray we're praying and we're getting the answer that as we read scripture we understand what the scripture is teaching us we are learning and we are preparing we're praying we're teaching people we're helping them to be ready for the coming of the lord it's it's pretty straightforward once we get into it and start realizing it we have to work out these details so daniel he prayed with a purpose he prayed and he watched he watched and he prayed and as he waited god gave him something special that we all need and once he did that now we can work out the details we can see the big picture that the main point here is the sanctuary the sanctuary message this is what these kingdoms were destroying they were destroying the truth they were tearing down the way god set up the way of salvation so that people will not be saved but jesus came and he reinstated he restored everything and he put things the way he originally intended it for it to be i'm gonna close with this story the story of hezekiah not even just a short thing about hezekiah hezekiah was given a second chance he was he was a man who served god and then all of a sudden he got a message that his life will be ended he became sick and he only had a few years to live and you know what hezekiah did he didn't just accept that at all he spread out whatever he had in his letter before god and he prayed to god he pleaded with god for his life and god gave him more years to his life 15 more years to his life god worked a miracle and gave hezekiah back time and what do you think hezekiah did with that time some people came visitors came to his his kingdom and do you think hezekiah took the time to testify of god's goodness he actually showed his silver and his gold he showed off the array of his place he didn't get to tell about god so my question to us this afternoon is what will you do with your second chance what will you do with your life that is given back to you will you use it for good or will you use it for evil the sanctuary will be cleansed in the time of the end my appeal to us is that the stain of all our sins are before god in jeremiah chapter 2 verse 22 it says although you wash yourself with lie and use much soap the stain of your iniquity is before me declares the lord in john chapter 5 verse 25 verse 29 it says truly truly i say to you an hour is coming and now is when the dead will hear the voice of the son of god and those who hear will live for just as the father has life in himself even so he gave to the son also to have life in himself and he gave him authority to execute judgment because he is the son of man and i'll just stop there in revelation chapter 14 verse 7 it says and he said with a loud voice fear god and give him glory because the hour of his judgment has come and worship him who made heaven and earth and the sea and the springs of waters in revelation chapter 21 to 6 we see satan was bound for a thousand years in verse 4 it says then i saw thrones and they sat on them and judgment was given to them that's the people of god in second corinthians 5 10 it says for we must all appear before the judgment seat of christ so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body according to what he has done whether good or bad ecclesiastes 12 13 to 14 it says let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter fear god and keep his commandments for this is the man's duke man's all for god will bring every work into judgment including every secret thing whether good or evil and the last one i'll repeat this one second corinthians 5 10. for we must all appear before the judgment seat of christ so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body according to what he has done whether good or bad is your desire to secure your place in heaven is that your desire well let's pray together it's my desire as well father in heaven we know when we appear before you lord that we are in your presence and we lord we know that we cannot stand in your presence alone because we will be consumed so lord we pray in a special way that jesus will be our lawyer that he will be our mediator he will be the one that goes between you and us lord you've heard the hearts this afternoon those who want to make themselves secure in heaven lord i pray that you'll make it so that you will make it true for them we don't have to fear the judgment because we would have made our decision to follow you all the way so i pray there lord that whatever it is that is hindering us that is interfering with our relationship if it's an unforgiving heart lord please give us the gift of forgiveness so that we can bury the hatchet once and for all that we can make it right with our fellow men lord we pray that we'll be a people that will plead for your mercy even if it's not for ourselves but for others like daniel did lord thank you for this time with you thank
