Robert Downey Jr being the COOLEST MAN ON THE PLANET for 11 minutes!

well i'm not actually iron man i'm just me sitting here doing your yeah but still when i start thinking i'm iron man it's trouble at home hi there um i've got a uh a question from my son who's uh 10 years old for the avengers he would like to know before you start filming the movies what's the thing you get most excited about probably my first costume fitting me surrounded by many full-length mirrors a great job and we've all made good friends and stuff you know but to answer your question you know evans is a very very capable guy i mean you know chicks dig them too miss foster please know how much i love and respect you regardless of what may transpire in the next couple minutes um but you know when it get when i get my hair cut i got my hair cut the other day i got my hair cut i got my hair cut at right before the show right before the show there's a gentleman here in the front row thank you i'm sorry it's been 15 minutes since my last wardrobe jimmy jimmy when did you know that you wanted to be an actor well knowing is something that's very particular to the soul um to know is to understand the question is already answered and it's asking no no no no tom doesn't but robert you do right i uh uh i mean i i watch those movies i'm a consumer first and foremost that's you've always said that haven't you yeah hotlanta in atlanta lovely atlanta georgia yeah and was it when you say hotline or is that because it's hot or sticky atlanta in july you know so you're in the it was beautiful i don't know what you're talking about i was i have i have i stored about a month ago you did and what do you think you know you know when you revise for an exam and you feel like you crushed it but the longer you wait for the results the more you think you kind of british by the way ruined it i don't know anything about just i got them in the office and stuff like that but i don't know i just i don't it's just like oh it's just a desk and no no i guess i get millions of dollars that's enough out of you when i uh concentrate you got a little bit of doubt yeah i'm coming into the marvel universe yeah you did why because you've done it before you've been well no it was just it was a big commitment you know these these contracts are you know six nine movies long it's not a guy who likes to be held down ladies i have a photograph here is this the first time you met kareem abdul-jabbar and really i only show it because it's funny you know the funny thing about that i think he was actually kneeling in that picture i can only relate to someone so often when they're all gussied up so i figure you know but it was a great opportunity i'm not really here yet and there's a lot of people here can you just all turn around for about a half an hour until i'm back in my body excellent question by the way as they grow the universe every new person they add to the fray never no one ever is out of place they always fit right in and feel like they've been there for years speak for yourself here's what i want to say you had to convince chris to take the role of captain america was that difficult to talk him into that you know that's great in hindsight i get to take credit for everything right there's no marvel cinematic universe without me yeah i did everything it's like [Applause] this is really nice i'm going to keep it simple i'm going to send you love and then i'm going to receive love so here's me sending it you get that all right i'm ready to receive thank you british actor you've seen him in other stuff before but he is fantastic as an american you're okay with a foreigner playing the role of spider-man not really no no no please tell me if this is true that you had your furniture from home shipped to atlanta so you would have your own furniture while you were there i didn't do a thing the moving company filming were you kind of up against each other as to who was working out the hardest and who was the fittest was there a bit of competition i mean we've all made so many movies together now so you you kind of to some degree forget the plot you know you go home and you're just you're just friends we're friends this is good friends robert do you feel like or giggle chat take pictures nope i can't do that you meet tony and he's actually doing uh he's having some sort he's demonstrating a type of technology but you see him when he was like 20. but it's so real it freaked me out it freaked everything i freaked me the heck out you know i was like my god he was beautiful i don't know if an actress can do her best work until i've slept with her julianne hey you had the big premiere right across the street last night yes how did that go did it go well oh you know i think this thing might do okay it's a really it's a really good one i know they're all good but this one's really really really good yeah it really it turned out uh it's we did a bang-up job do you like what or it was anything where you're like can we do another take or because that just sounds like you guys first of all my dirty secret is i'm not actually all that good no that's not and i'm gonna tell you why there's things that most people it doesn't bother them like there's stuff that i bet and look you're an actor you i hate opening doors and pretending that i'm and and it's a little girl do we know it is a girl it is a girl yeah wow so fun is this the first girl for you right first girl i hope she wants to be an actress no you don't you don't hope that at all give me a break stable you might even ride your sugar high after riding your sugar high all the way to a fitting it's in america one word for you to describe iron man and iron man to describe [Laughter] turn my mic up thank you if you start playing violins i will tear this joint apart first of all i'd like to thank susan downey for telling me that matt damon was going to win so don't bother to prepare a speech did you you changed your number did you change your phone number no same number for 10 years buddy one daughter right how is it having a daughter because she's your first daughter yeah it's you know i mean anyone it's just so delicious and it's really different and special and and um you know as long as i can keep exton from biting her or putting a pillow on her head we're going to be fine uh why are you having that kind of thing in mind when you're playing this role this time i must be mellowing with age but i want to say this very clearly the next time i'm not asked the first question [Laughter] okay so no things flying at you at your will not even like a diet coke when you're thirsty i mean it would be you know convenient right but i also like opening refrigerators i find it soothing i think that might be in a press release tomorrow but what did you do what did you do for 50. you know 65. 65. all right so 15 years from now yeah all right no no wait a minute what are we talking about 60. yeah you're right so what what did you do uh we rented out an airplane hangar wow and and then uh we paid the bill so i hear that they're they're looking to cast a a new spider-man yeah who do we root for captain america iron man that's up to the people [Applause] and big changes uh for you too you turned 40 this year and i know that that's that's a that's what you want to talk about well yeah a little bit what in the real world do you want to be able to just fly to you at your will anything i have that oh is that a little estro here oh my gosh you are i'm going to say the shoes are valentino yes incredible yes i have to have all these items back by noon what is it star power it became kind of a hot ticket and like most things the the guest list or invite t list to anything i do is really up to my wife so you're going to blame her right now i thought she liked us she does like you uh i just blew it well first of all and i should preface this by saying i'd stop smoking oh well that'll well good for you good that you did that but i would say i stayed stopped because i'd like to indicate what happened okay you walk i'm sorry we'll giggle chat take pictures better years and others anything significant maybe about this year yeah it's the year of robert downey jr this is it avengers this is the thing and uh you know you know what they love you it is uh very pleasant to be loved now i'm not trying to creep anyone out but where's emma more blue i think that i think that stark is involved in the design of of all of the avengers uh garb or so i was told at some story meeting i see okay chaplain was yes so i went back and learned how to play tennis left-handed to which everybody said bring it 16 and pregnant on mtv or something because aunt may was an old lady in the i move no i know she's seen ancient before now she's marissa told me he's got like he's got like a hot ant yeah yeah my god just think think of the possibility is it fair to say all right let's try one more time together okay on three
