let's check back in with Mike Epps who's standing by on the Southside Mike who you got with you man what's up Steve sign right here at Bernie Mac's high school on the south side and we just want to let you know man you know we all love Bernie we got some of Bernie's friends that he went to school with crowd let them know how we doing it out listen we know listen Bernie Mac paved the way for a lot of great comedians like myself man and it's a great play time to honor this man we love Bernie Mac we got the principal at a school Doug let's go ahead and let him know how we gonna honor the Mac man Douglas McLemore the best high school on the south side honor of our 75th anniversary and to support our wonderful alumni association we like to rename this auditorium the Bernie Mac auditorium [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Rhonda Rhonda and Bernie were highschool sweethearts at that very same right there so Rhonda Jenice how you feel I am so touched I'm so honored and I'm always amazed at just the outpouring of love people still have for him and it just warms my heart that they remember him and love him the way they do thank you all so much [Applause] [Applause] we got something else to show you Bernie was in Chicago and through and through which is why the city of Chicago sent this over this is from the city of Chicago it's actually a proclamation that says in recognition of Bernie's remarkable life and legacy Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel has proclaimed today November 14th to be burning Mag day in Chicago I urge all Chicagoans to mark this occasion just that Bernie would have with Thanksgiving for both our trials and triumphs and finding the humor no matter what it's Bernie Mac day-to-day cliche [Applause]
