hey guys it's Gavin here so I'm gonna give you another quick tip dry-firing I know you've heard it before you're gonna hear it again don't leave promise you soon be worth your time dry-firing is in number one reason why you guys are pulling shots off target sometimes even off the paper it's crucial in your trigger pull it's it's something that everyone has to do it's something that I have to do every day you have to do it every day so that's what I'm gonna do it's it's called dry fire practice you've probably heard of it before I'm going to ask you to do this at least 100 times a day every day for a week and I guarantee you the next time you go out to the range your shot group is going to improve dramatically okay so the first thing I want you to do I want to get your firearm whatever it is this is a Glock 27 it's a 40 Cal I want you to unload the magazine put it away somewhere and make sure there's no live rounds in the area I want you to grab the slide with the meaty part of your hand just like I taught you not with this part of your hand because this is a fine motor skill and under stress York where to do it the meaty part of your hand I want you to pull it back as hard as you can I want to use your thumb on the slide release lock it back just like that and way to visually and physically inspect your firearm for any bolt live rounds check the chamber check everything in there physically feel there's nothing in there good right meaty part of your hand rack that Glock as hard as you can and guarantee you won't break it if you break your lock by racket it I'll give you a hundred bucks okay next thing I want you to do is make sure that you're in a part of your room or the range of the house just like you're actually firing where if you were to accidentally discharge around no one would get hurt okay so once you've found that maybe a coordinate in your room facing the ground I want to get your gun getting your shooting stance don't do this sitting down I want you to every time you're ever holding or handling a firearm act as if it's always loaded and whatever you're doing whatever scenario so I'm going to stand up I went to grab your gun just like you're ready I want you to go up on target just like you're actually going up on target just like we're actually at the range I want you to decide when you're ready to shoot go ahead and put your finger on your trigger I want to make sure that your guyses sights are lined up like I taught you make sure your front sight is level with the rear sight and everything is symmetrical as such when you're ready I want you to start squeezing the trigger as slow as you possibly can this is it right here guys this is a hundred percent fundamental what I'm about to tell you you squeeze that trigger as slow as you possibly can I want you to take at least 10 seconds to pull that trigger it's already been at least eight seconds I've been counting in my head I want you to go as slow as possibly can I'm still pulling the trigger I am still pulling it believe it or not it's going incredibly slow but I'm doing it and this whole time I'm talking to out loud because I'm distracting myself from the fact that when this gun clicks my body is ready to flinch because it thinks around is going to go off right so I'm going to continue to talk oh it just went off you guys weren't expecting it my body wasn't expecting it and thus it was almost hard for myself to flinch that flinch right there is the number one reason why you guys pull your shot so I want you to do is take your gun rack it again and go back up okay I want you to guys start talking in your head I want you guys to say keep pressing keep pressing keep pressing keep pressing oh we went off I didn't even I wasn't even ready for it to go off and it went off I want you guys to do that hundred times every day for a week and I guarantee you next time you goes out to the range your shots are going to be much tighter
