them out if you guys are looking for sick bags and gloves and plaid we have vertex of course le examination for oliver ammunition needs ladies and gentleman and they often forgotten but not by me mich 2001 so welcome to the channel today we're gonna be talking about something i love which is gear so right here we have my current work set up so i just wanted to take a video and just talk about what i'm currently using why i'm using it and yeah i figured it'd be good to just kind of start back to the basics a little bit and go with this so start off with currently I'm using a Spiritist systems overplay care that is kind of my main go-to it's the one I found to be most comfortable and most versatile for a variety of needs now realize this is depending on your job you might need the ability to carry more [ __ ] if that's the case the spheres over it it's probably not going to be the one for you it's a little bit more minimalistic and just on the bleeding edge of being able to carry precisely what I need but that's what I like about it realize that a couple other carriers like the Cry jpc soul are very much so deeply in my heart and a half so you love those carriers quite a bit it's just this is what I've been using for the last a little bit so I've been using this carrier for about a little under a year at this point and yeah let's go ahead and let's talk about my setup what I got going so start off with something play care unless you have plates in it so the plates that I have in this current setup are just might issued level 4 plates a little bit over you can't currently get them and then that's a damn shame but there's any types of limitations on what civilians can own but that's the world we live in to some extent or another so that's what I got going as far as my plates are concerned let's go ahead let's talk about the setup I got some weird stuff going on here so we're gonna start front and plate it'll go to black back plate and we'll hit my sides and talk about what I got going on so start off with we have starting at the very top first off I don't have the ATAC on right now a tack is like an end user device basically just allows you to do certain things don't currently have that on my kit right now and do when I need it anyhow first things first we have a pencil right here so the question question is why do I have that well there are a variety of reasons why you might need a white-light I got some on my helmet I got one right here for reading notes or anything like that and people are like notes looking you and you read notes more well there's a lot of planning that goes on so right now have it just set to the red light right of course being lessons or what distance especially when you cover yourself the poncho good for that field craft stuff definitely recommend it yes keep up so why don't I have the serac around my neck or directly on my person so what typically ends up happening is when I'm shooting the Petzl has a tendency to roll into my shoulder and when I try to shoulder the gun I'm trying to roll over that pencil headlamp and then alike it's a button it starts shooting white light god knows where you're blinding my teammate thing like shoots me in the leg and I die that's a terrible situation I want that to happen but beyond that also having around my neck I had this weird feeling that somehow the this strap is gonna be used to strangle me to death and getting strangled to death by a pencil strap that seems like a really shitty way to go so we went ahead and we had that mount on the plate carrée this is pretty calm and you see a lot of guys doing this nowadays alright moving from there we have our push-to-talk so depending on Ben then 10 out of the way depending on the type of headset that I'm using is going to depend on the type of push-to-talk right now I've been doing a lot of stuff with my ops core amps so the ops core amps have kind of have their own little set up so I'm using this one right here now what I do is I retain the wires coming up with either a normal push-to-talk or with this one via these nice little velcro straps highly recommend you guys buy them they're simple little velcro cable ties that are used to like you feel like computer equipment but they work really well for your cable management on your kit something that I would definitely recommend in any case have that manage there have a couple more on this on the shoulder straps here for God knows whatever else I got going on as you can see here this is for a single lead that means it goes down to one radio so depending on what I'm doing I might need to have two luckily op score makes a very cool one that simply has two leads allowing me to connect it in to two radios top being a bottom being B and then it wires straight into my comms and as far as those comms are concerned you can see them right here there are the ops core amps they're phenomenal love them I think it's a better system so I've been using them quite a bit and in case what I end up doing with comms this comms are such an important part of what I do that I adopted the two is one one is none type deal so I typically have these sitting in my side pouch my general purpose pouch and then if I need to swap it out I at least have a single lead in there in case one of them goes down for whatever reason and I usually backed up with an extra comm crap like a simple handset in case I need to go to that but yeah that is how I had my comm set up on my particular rig now beyond that you can see that I have the columns wire running down straight to the radio prec 1:52 pretty standard alright so I typically have an end user device running right here with all the cable management that goes on there and past that we can run down to the magazine pouches now again this is again going to be job dependent so for me I really don't need to carry a whole lot of ammunition there's old there's things are more important for me to do in regards to working with radio stuff and doing all that good old close air support so for me I'm typically carrying either three or four magazines on my plate carrier I carry more on my belt for a total combat load out of about seven but as you can see right here I'm using the pouches that come from spiritus systems they are elastic as you can see they are getting worn in pretty good I haven't really had any issues with them as far as the no longer holding retention again if your views and getting skull drags and all that kind of stuff and they are holding up fine they do have loops on the front and back to attach paracord if you need to make them jump abble so I am very confident in their ability to hold up to use so that is what I have going on in the front of my play carrier and my magazines I know someone's gonna ask to my use metal mags we use mag poles typically mag poles I swap out what I'm using right now I'm rotating through some emags but I rotate through my mags that way I don't just crush one you know a set of seven mags just constantly just like constantly down loaded to full capacity just dying so I rotate my mags but that's how I kind of run things all right now from there let's go ahead and let's rotate over to the back that's pretty simple so right now spirit of systems does not offer any type of back panels or working on some but that's fine for me for the most part I have some type of pack because I have to have some extra Gucci gear on me I'll type of stuff whether it be comms equipment batteries or water or whatever have you so anyhow I have some type of backpack on typically usually it's a mystery ranch 3da assault as you can see I run my back slick currently in the future I'll likely run a back panel with a small bladder that way it's filled drink it whatever if I need to put a pack on I can either swap that bladder to that pack or I could just drain that bladder drink it all and just have it all compress and go flat against me so quick now I see a lot of guys running like the packs attached directly ask yourself what you're gonna put in there and whether it's something you need to get to water that makes sense especially with some of the newer systems you have or you can backfill them through the hose but if you have important stuff in there and to get to it you need to get either you know take off the plate carrier have somebody else get to it if you're working alone that might not work again kind of plan and make sure everything's gonna work well for you there are certain attachment systems that allow you to detach them and swing that bag around maybe look into something like that but for me it's just too much crap I just end up writing a pack for the most part alright so moving from there let's go to the side of my pack right here so we were on the right hand side so first off I do have another radio pouch in case I need to run in extra Radio tons of reasons why you might need to do that especially for JTAC or you work beyond that if I'm not running the radio I will typically run one or two magazines in there behind there I have an islets pouch and is lid is a type of IR marking device so that aircraft can see what I'm marking because oftentimes the five is powerful and the mall x1 is powerful but having more powerful to the point of blinding people is even better so it was what the islets is for now I do keep this mostly clear I do have a pistol on the right side so because of that I try to keep it mostly open that way I can reach down pass all that junk and get to it now depending on who I'm working with I do keep this back right open because oftentimes that is going to be a location for some type of individual first aid kit as far as my first aid kits go there's a quite a few that I might use depending on how much you need and what you're comfortable with I might run one of these smaller ones from a stack I might have my bigger boy from blue force gear which are excellent lots of good stuff in here or I might run some type of smaller mounted option such as this smaller one the mini kit from blue force gear lots of great ones out there typically what I find myself doing right now when it comes to my medical kits is I end up either running them in a fanny pack that way when I'm getting in and out of the vehicle I can either rotate that fanny pack to the front or the rear and that allows me to either sit down comfortably because a lot of times they used to mount these to my belts you try to sit down in a vehicle and you end up getting like some weird thing especially over years of doing that you're just gonna screw up your lower back so I simply I do pouch the pouch I typically do is CRO medical they make a really good fanny pack for medical work has two tourniquets on it as well which brings me to my next point where the hell are my tourniquets well I actually carry my tourniquets directly on me so consider your first line gear so it's always on my clothing typically an upper left pocket typically on the front of the cry pants and especially down at the legs I carry quite a few in case I lose a leg or something like that and I lose that tourniquet with it I want to make sure I have another one you don't want to be in that type of situation where you have a tourniquet in one leg just one Li gets blown off and then uh no tourniquet you have to make either the medic use one or somebody burn one of theirs and you want to be an asset to your team not a liability so that is how I typically run that but beyond that you can never have enough medical kit a lot of times what people tend to forget about is like boo-boo kits band-aids antiseptic neosporin all that kind of stuff again typically they care that in my pack directly or in a vehicle or depending on what type of work I'm doing make sure you have a boo-boo you know if all you have is a knife a can you cut your finger and you got to like break out your IFAC it's a bad day make sure you have something separate for that all right moving over to our left side of my kit right here so knife or something new that's from tour knives so just a great a little blade right there of course the ring for any type of sake work which is what my kind of closed course training is in there are a variety of thought processes to how to mount your knife and where do your mount your knife I'm just kind of experimenting with it it's something that I've been playing with quite a bit typically I have my knife on my belt and on my person anyhow up here we have a blue force gear radio pouch that is what I'm using for my 1:52 that works very well it can fit especially the side when you need to attach a device for your end user devices that elastic allows it to stretch out so you can fit that kind of stuff because a lot of time these 1:52 pouches don't fit that stuff that you need to attach to your a tack kit and that's kind of a pain in the ass so that's why I like that the cry pouch also works just not quite as well for that as I may handle this thing around all right goon from there on my left hand side I also have a pouch this is a general-purpose pouch from blue force gear I keep again an extra push-to-talk kind of some of my smaller supplementals extra batteries maybe a nice little some nice little icky chewy or something like that in there so I'm gonna make my out my life just a little bit easier now beyond that I don't have a whole lot of storage area I try to keep stuff off my plate color plate carry if possible to keep it in my bag I tried to be very realistic about what I'm gonna be using but if I do need extra space what I do typically use it so I'll use one of these Farrow concepts the sacs that just hang under I think it's called dangler spiritus uses a sack I use one or the other alright now add the ferrule just on there so all you do is you simply velcro it right beneath the magazines and then you have yourself some extra storage so I'll go ahead and I'll do that right now so you guys can kind of see what that looks like alright as you can see right there have that pouch running to there the zipper opens at the very front that way you can get to it in there I'll have you know pleure four would have you dagger or whatever I might need for whatever I'm doing against it's gonna be dependent and again I pull that offer on depending on what I need I should probably just keep it on but I'm kind of OCD and I like to keep my kid very streamlined and I think that's kind of the name of the game when it comes to this is keeping your kit streamlined there's a lot more stuff I could put on this and I'm sure somebody's gonna come out there and be like you forgot XYZ sure notepads pens all that kind of stuff to keep that typically on my uniform typically in my front in my left front pocket but again everyone's going to be different everyone's gonna find their own thing that's kind of streamlined for them find what works for you and go with that but the biggest thing is if you put something on your plate carrier and you really as you don't use it try pulling it off and see if it bothers you during an OP right especially if you're going out a lot during the week and doing some multi-day events just experiment with it that's your time to play with things I definitely recommend doing that now if you're civilian and you're doing all this kind of stuff and you're like man I really need to streamline my kit go camping where those stuff out there everyone's always like so like oh I don't want anybody see me or oh man that guy looks [ __ ] of the plate carry on who cares dude practice in your kit right that's what's cool about this country you can do there the hell you want so practice in your kit get good with it because that's what really matters if you don't practice in it it doesn't matter same thing goes for shooting I see a lot of guys where they have push-to-talk sin weird positions or for example my Petzel my headlamp I start rolling over into my kit those are small considerations to think about the things that ultimately could be life or death you know if you didn't know about that Petzl roll innings you never really tried it out and then one day you got to raise your rifle somebody's right there and you're your butt sock like rolls off of it and you miss a shot you get domed by like a high point or something that's life right there right so make sure that you're actually practicing your kid on that will help you streamline your stuff and getting better with it and that is what really matters a big thing too about plate carriers I see a lot of guys stacking [ __ ] out in the front other plate carrier they have like you know two stacks and mags plus like an extra admin pouch out front and that's cool I love having stuff I can get to like I'm like any other man I like to like see it all and be able to get to it all but the same time the more stuff you stack out front the lower you cannot get to the ground and there are a variety of different situations where you will probably get need to get low to the ground a lot of people say if I'm getting shot I'm gonna be high up on the gun anyhow I'm like hold on what there's an explosion right if there's more just coming here whatever you're gonna want to get really low because there's not no amount of shooting back at explosions is going to you know stop shrapnel from coming towards you so think about that to make sure that you can get low to the ground that's going to be an important thing also make sure you can skull drag a big thing that I'll do is I'll put on all this kit I'll scroll drag across to the ground you know 100 yards did you lose anything did you yard sale yourself on your yard sale being you just lost some gear on the way there did you lose anything there if so you probably need to relook at that attachment method and think about it for example my push-to-talk if you'll notice that I typically run that velcro wire around them so both I use the clip to clip it in and on top of that I run this velcro around the Molly and around the entirety of the push talk to hold it into place I just want to be extra secure if that type of stuff because I've seen things happen to people so make sure you experiment with this otherwise none of this matters and looking cool matters now when it comes to this it all I'm gonna say is you know training matters but man get out there and have to practice with your kid on otherwise you're not gonna know what's good what works what doesn't work and you're gonna have a whole bunch of problems out there ladies gentlemen thank you so much for watching love you guys put your kid on and get out there and practice take care of yourselves I got a net that I'll show you probably last thing for you guys a little bit of advice I mean I've learned throughout my life not that I'm very old but anytime I've ever had somebody react to me with extreme anger I've always hit him back being as nice as humanly possible there are a variety of reasons why people might be mean to you or mad at you or act hostile towards you but to be honest there's not like a whole lot of truly terrible people or they like actively want you to die and stuff but the most part people just having bad days are not reacting well there have a lot stress in their life something's happened their girlfriend's cheating on their boyfriends cheating on them whatever point is be nice to each other be nice to that person maybe doesn't get you anywhere but you know what's gonna make you feel better because I've never felt good after acting out of anger and I've done it a couple times in my life and it's something that I think back to and it just doesn't make me feel good be nice it's gonna get you a lot of places love you guys you guys know she's gotten this far patreon patreon helps all this you know hard drives which fail all the time and
