hey y'all welcome back to my channel uh today i'm doing a client that i haven't done in a really long time uh look hair curls they just do whatever they want to do i love it i love every bit of it um so she wanted her hair done and i'm like well can i film it because that's what i say to everybody uh and so she's here so we're gonna get her hair done today always starting with the satin shield heat protectant the serum is so good and we're going to use the ceramic red 2500 blow dryer it's my favorite uh i i will put the link below but i didn't sold them all out they're all going off amazon so you you just gotta find it when you can i'm gonna keep looking for it to make sure that you guys get it but for now they're sold out so when she came in i'm looking at her and i'm like when the last time you got your interim and she told me the last time i did them so i had to do the math like i moved to la from philly in january it'll be four years so she hasn't had a trim in almost four years and i just was so stressed out about that so we're gonna have to hook her up today for sure for sure [Music] so in my last video i asked you guys to send me some questions because people ask me so many questions and i want to be able to answer them but instead of sitting in the camera and just talking i figured i'll put them over my videos so it could be a two-in-one little vibe so let's start with the first question [Music] that girl named keith said i have two questions what do you do when your hair has been severely heat damaged and is there a way to repair it so unfortunately once the hair has been damaged by heat there is no way to reverse it you literally have to grow it out just like you would a relaxer you however have a few options you can transition it by gradually cutting off the damaged hair as your texture grows back in you can just go cold turkey and do a big chop or you can manipulate your damaged hair to match your curls or coils by doing the styles such as flexi rod sets or twist outs [Music] okay so alyssa k says i've been struggling to grow my hair past my neck and shoulder length do you have any tips on growing your hair also tips with growing back your edges so a few simple changes can make a really big difference one try keeping heat out of your hair as much as possible two get your ends trimmed every eight to ten weeks three deep condition your hair at least once a month four try protective styles to give your hair a break from time to time five make sure you always sleep with a silk or satin scarf and six my ultimate favorite use jamaican black castor oil on your roots and edges for rapid growth and nourishment next going in with my shears from her strands of hair i am going to get these uh almost four year ends off okay so you see her hair kind of grows in a v so i'm just going to go section by section instead of all at once like i do with some people and just handle it like that i know i've said this before on my channel but this is the way you're supposed to trim i know you see a lot of people trimming on instagram free hand cutting but that's not really truly the way you're really supposed to go section by section and make sure it's even so don't let the internet especially if you're in school don't let the internet change your mind or how you're supposed to do things like it takes time to learn how to free hand cut and it really is the art so just take your time and do things right and then gradually get to that point [Music] now i'm going in with my titania 22 irons they will be back in stock soon um just keep your notifications on or follow me on instagram for you know notifications on it and you know i'm just going to give her it's going to seem like i'm giving her tight curls but later on i'm going to loosen them up with a wide tooth comb uh okay taisha said can you also give some advice on working out with natural hair please how often should i wash my hair when working out and how can i protect my natural hair both pressed and curly etc okay with natural hair you want to place it in either a high ponytail or bun if possible and add a silk scarf or sweat band around your edges if straight try wrapping it with the head scarf and then when you finish working out switch your possibly damp scarf that is trapping the heat from your scalp with a dry new one until you cool off and your hair is fully dry as far as washing it goes i recommend washing it once a week i know that's terrible news wash day is such a task but because sweat can also bring damage to the hair because of the salt content it brings so letting it sit in your curls for too long will definitely cause dryness on your strands and scalp so you want to make sure that you're washing it at least once a week of course we're going to add the glass brain shine it's in stock right now guys go get you some it was so pretty it just looked like like ribbony now most of the time i leave the curls in but today i'm gonna comb them out but before i do i'm gonna take a picture from my instagram make sure you follow me and also make sure you subscribe to my youtube channel i am almost at a million subs and i just am so excited to get there so help me get there if you haven't subscribed already please do right now all right now i'm going to take this wide tooth comb and comb her curls out gently and just make it really fluffy and loosen the curls up [Music] all right let's do one more question okay sakia said question when you were first starting out as a stylist what were your top three to five challenges and what kept you up at night oh great question so i had major challenges getting my at-home clients to like transfer to the salon it was like so tough i also had to learn the essence of patience when it came to building a clientele and also understanding always being a student because in the beginning you swear you know everything but you honestly know nothing and i would say always wanting to be better kept me up at night and it honestly still does to this day like to this day okay so now i'm just showing it to you from the front see that she doesn't have many layers so the way i curled it is kind of giving layer vibes but it's not truly layered because if it was straight it's pretty much almost all even so um she's so pretty right i love her so okay so yep she's done and i just want to thank you guys as always for watching my channel don't forget to subscribe i'm not playing i'm almost there like i'm almost there so thanks again and i'll see you guys next time [Music] oh and also if you want to ask me some more questions go ahead and shoot them in the comments
