well we need a mosasaurus and i figured if anyone was gonna have one it had to be soggy otter moses what now the mosasaurus a giant aquatic reptile that lived during the cretaceous period about 99 to 66 million years ago so it's godzilla what no he's not even close well was he really big yeah did he have tons of sharp teeth and he was a reptile oh yeah totally sounds like godzilla yeah trust me it's not so it lived between 99 to 66 million years ago and you really expect to find one now normal circumstances no but wait a second the mosasaurus had a butt i didn't know that ah here we are the mosasaurus ah wow the mosasaurus looks like a bunch of banana peels duct taped together and left in an atlantic city bathroom you're talking about me aren't you yeah i saw this wrong cell i give you the mosasaurus wow the mosasaurus looks just like roberta andy that is roberta it is hey roberta we're looking for a mosasaurus have you seen one i'm sorry no mosasaurus here but even though moses sores are extinct they once roamed the waters in what is now new jersey the state we live in what in fact moses or fossils have been found on every continent even antarctica wow wait a second first you said mosasaurs and then you said mosasaurus what's the difference it's actually quite easy to understand here [Music] is the name of a group of large marine reptiles and there are dozens upon dozens of different types wow their fossils were first discovered in 1764 near the muse river in the netherlands at a limestone quarry the location of the discovery inspired the name mosasaur as the word mosasaur means lizard of the muse river some mosasaurs like the dallasaurus can be as small as three feet while others like the mosasaurus can reach up to 60 feet and weigh as much as 30 000 pounds that's longer than a telephone pole and two times heavier than a t-rex what these aquatic lizards have relatives that live today monitor lizards like the komodo dragon and snakes the mosasaur likely evolved from creatures called agelosaurs aquatic lizards that lived on land may have fed on creatures near the ocean similar to modern day marine iguanas in the galapagos islands over time these creatures evolved and grew into the massive mosasaurus like snakes the mosasaurus had two rows of teeth in their upper jaw these extra teeth are thought to help hold their prey as they could likely dislocate their jaws and swallow their prey whole ow my pinky toe i mean finn even though the mosasaurs were aquatic they were reptiles which means they had to come to the surface to great air just like sea turtles today although these incredible creatures are fascinating they all died during the end of the cretaceous period in the same extinction event that killed all the dinosaurs all except for one i give you the mosasaurus oh i am a mosasaurus what yeah you got me listen mosesaurus is very shy wait let me see if i can get it i'm beginning to think we're never going to see a mosasaurus yeah i really wish we got to see uh mo mo mona lisa i mean mo mo mozart mosquito i mean mo larry and curly i mean you mean what mosasaurus oh my gosh there's snack stand over there get back over here don't just stand there and do something like what i don't know throw a rock at it or something wow nice throw you really got quite the arm on you yeah i'm used to throwing ninja stars plus the curvature of the rock threw me off a little bit but i i was kidding that was the worst throw i've ever seen yeah well i was trying to hit that little fish that was near you i was just trying to help you out help me from a fish please i'm a giant aquatic reptile you really think i need help from a little fish quick throw a rock at it please well i will if you help us out i'll do anything please just help okay deal let's start with your bike i imagine you could fit a million crystal pepsis in that thing yeah well you're not far off when it comes to my bike i have one of the strongest on record but let's compare it to some creatures that you know a crocodile's bite was measured at 200 pounds of pressure what while the great white sharks bite was measured at 4 000 pounds of pressure the t-rex's was at 12 000 pounds of pressure but mine was at 33 000 pounds of pressure that's almost three times stronger than the t-rex oh no but even though my bite is strong it still doesn't compare to the megalodon whose bite force was measured at about 41 000 pounds of pressure i was known to be an expert hunter feasting on creatures such as prehistoric sharks seabirds sea turtles plesiosaurs and even other mosasaurs but even though mosasaurs were incredibly tough creatures they weren't safe from other dangers in the ocean as evidence was found of moses or bones with shark bites in them but recently scientists discovered a new species of mosasaur that didn't live in the ocean but instead hunted in freshwater rivers another fish quick help me but there aren't any rocks around i don't care just throw anything hurry up i know what i can throw flipping wide [Music] oh we gotta get out of here if soggy sees his cracked fish tank we're dead neat but what about justin and
