Snake Facts!

hey guys mr. DeMaio today I'm going to talk to you about snakes Andy Andy are you okay is it bad no that's perfectly normal wait a second I think that's a snake bite quick somebody get him some anti-venom you want any venom what time is it I can get you antivenom by noon but you got to do exactly what I say capiche what's a capiche it's a small country in Central Asia where we are gonna get some [Music] snacks snacks ahead hey I think there's gonna be snacks up there that's something I look forward to oh I think somebody left this sock well one sock I can't really tell that snakeskin you may think it's weird that snakes shed their skin but humans do too for humans it happens gradually and you barely even notice it but for snakes it's totally different they shed their skin periodically to get rid of parasites or when they're ready to grow this process is called ecdysis Steve we're here [Music] [Applause] [Music] Doh doh-doh not doughnut hat but doughnut hat but on doughnut hat but on why don't we inside [Music] I did it Andy I got the anti-venom flat for JA for your snakebite what snake but the one you got in the beginning of this video hey where'd your snake bite go well that it's all good now the snake wasn't venomous wasn't venomous I even know there were snakes that weren't venomous I know right of all the different snakes in the world around 600 or venomous how do you even know all this stuff I'll say what is that it's a snake they're reptiles which means they have backbones make eggs have scales and are cold-blooded the whole nine I'm a teacher Andy I know all that stuff it keeps flicking its tongue at me here's a fun fact snakes actually smell with their toes work well that's cool and all but where are we a good old snake alley it's been abandoned since 1985 nobody here but me you and a ton of snakes how many there are over 3600 known species of snakes in the world and this place has all of them oh no great my back hurt speaking of facts do you know snakes have backbones lure snakes back bone is made up many vertebrae attached to ribs humans have approximately 33 vertebrae in 24 ribs snakes have between 200 to 400 vertebrae Wow this is what makes them able to bend so much okay well you know weird amount about snakes for no reason but hey if there are a lot of snakes around should we be careful totally snakes are carnivores which means they eat meat and you my friend are meat technically your meat to Andy I'm a puppet they eat me they'll get a mouthful of blue fur and cotton balls yeah you know what this place even looks like it has a lot of snakes well snakes don't have to be just in places like this they can live all over the world hey I actually know a lot about this snakes can be found on every single continent except Antarctica most snakes are found in tropical regions but they can also be found in forests deserts and even oceans in fact some scientists think the most venomous snake on earth lives in the ocean the faint banded sea snake its venom is said to be as much as a hundred times more lethal than that of any other snake another cool type of snake is the flying snake there are five known species of snakes that do this now they don't actually fly but rather glide along the air I would tell you more snake facts but I think I need a hospital you're in a snake country it's pronounced hospital whatever but is there one around here no well actually we do have a hospital I mean it's completely run by a Shh but it should do the trick wait a second you can talk well yeah Oh snakes can we just wish her a lot huh well you seem like a nice guy what kind of snake are you me oh I'm no big deal just one of if not the most venomous snakes on earth I'm the inland Taipan I'm usually found in Australia but I'm on vacation here quick get on this guy's good side what do you mean is good side he looks the same on both side no I mean get him to like us oh okay I got this hey mr. Disneyland dustpan I just wanna let you know that Andy and I are huge snake fans our favorite band is Whitesnake we play the game snake all the time we even wear green on days that are in st. Patrick's Day what's your point well do you think you and your snake friends can teach us about snakes relax even though I am one of the most venomous snakes on earth I'm mostly shy and rarely attacked you know come to think of it I would help you but I'm kind of hungry do you think I could eat your little friend without pants down there hey you have no pants eater Justin where did you come from my mother is my Creator you know what go ahead and eat them that was delicious kinda shocked snakes can eat such big things justin was bigger than your mouth well the jaws of a snake are not fused together that means that unlike a human jaws snake jaws are not connected at the back of their mouths this makes it possible for them to eat very big meals bigger than their own heads and I dare you to open your mouth as wide as you can on the count of three one two three man we have little baby bird mouths compared to this guy plus he has those cool venomous teeth well these bad boys are called fangs fames are sharp long teeth that are connected to a small sack in the snake's head behind its eyes these sacs produce a poisonous liquid called venom when a snake bites venom is released it starts to work immediately to kill or paralyze its prey how much venom do you have well the venom in just one of my bites is enough to kill 100 human Wow is that enough to kill one human like our really annoying chicken parm loving human yeah okay to kill that guy I mean there are a ton of other snakes that are really venomous just like me black mamba is one of the most famous venomous snakes this snake is the fastest snake there is and one of the deadliest Oh No before the invention of anti-venom a bait from a black mamba always meant death whoa just two drops of venom from a black mamba could kill a person the saw scaled Viper is another deadly snake this snake is believed to have killed the most people it may not be as venomous as other snakes but it is popular in places where a lot of people live there are a ton of other snakes that are really venomous to all our other snakes like you and your family yep I'm one of three type and species there's me the inland Taipan the coastal Taipan and the central ranges typepad hey you look pretty big but how big are you I can grow to be eight feet long but there are other snakes that are even bigger can we meet one of those sure let me go get him man if that guy was eight feet imagine how big the next guys gonna huh I've heard of this type of snake before oh she's an anaconda she what makes you think it's a girl Anna Conda Anna's a girl's name duh don't be ridiculous mr. anaconda can you please tell my friend you're not a girl no he's right I'm a girl what say yeah I told you so so Anna what type of snake are you exactly I'm a green anaconda I'm one of the biggest snakes in the world whoa reach up to twenty nine feet and weigh over 500 pounds that's almost as long as a telephone pole and as heavy as 30 bowling balls wait you said one of the biggest what do you mean by that well there are other snakes that are really big too the reticulated python is another big snake some say it can reach up to 33 feet and weigh over 350 pounds what but there's an even bigger snake that lives 60 million years ago [Music] titanoboas believed to weigh over a thousand pounds and be as long as 50 feet that's almost 2 times bigger than me so going back to you weirdo green anacondas usually live I live in South America they hang out in swamps and marshes since I'm so big it's easier for me to swim in the water than it is to slither on land because my eyes and nostrils are on the top of my head I can see and breathe while the rest of my body is underwater hanging out in the water all day in South America sounds nice hey are you venomous like the other snakes we talked to nope I kill my prey through constriction once I see something I want to eat I grab it with my jaws and lock onto it with my teeth then I wrap around my prey and squeeze it until it dies of crushing or suffocation last I swallow my food whole swallow whole huh me too what do you mean me chicken Barbra Jean no chewing oh yeah go ahead but hey what's that noise sounds like a rattle wait a second isn't there a snake that makes a rattling noise oh yeah what's it called again is it a ratatouille snake no shake a shake a shake snake No well you're both wrong there partner you see on the rattle make so you're named after the sound you make imagine if all animals were named after the sounds they make in the Pacific Northwest one animal who's the mole the chirp-chirp the church app is the last of his kind never mind there's another one right there these are the last two Church Oaks on earth except for that one over there his name's Gary but this chirp chirp is unlike any other for he has a special ability when he wants to he can stick his own head inside his body and smell his bird but that was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen can we get back to learning about me now we're wasting time okay let's do this rapid question style are you ready yes are you venomous yes where are you found North America do you call birds chirp chirps yes wait no no seriously I've always been interested in rattlesnakes because they live where I live can you tell me more about that well sure first off there are many different types of rattlesnakes 24 to be exact and they can be found in many different places like mountains deserts and plains interesting but why the weird rattle well the reason is really cool the rattle is found at the tip of the rattlesnakes tail the snake uses the rattle as a warning sign whoa the famous rattle noise comes from the interlocking rings inside the rattle knocking against each other if you hear this noise the snake is warning you to get away quick oh man I wish I had a rattle on my body huh the only thing attached to my butt is some guy's arm what stinks being a puppet so you use that rattle sound as a warning to any other snakes do that yeah let me go get him so what do you want to do in the meantime do you see Avengers yet of course favorite part don't eat man the snap crazy hey chill on the spoilers guys I haven't seen the movie everybody in the world has seen that movie and you haven't the snake man I can't exactly sneak into the movies with my friends wearing a big baggy coat good point so what type of snake are you I am a king cobra I'm the longest venomous snake in the world your king where's your crown it's at the dry cleaners huh never mind so you do something to warn people of danger like the rattlesnake yep but unlike the rattlesnake what I did is completely different do you see my hood right here hood you're not wearing a hood where's your sweatshirt yeah at the dry cleaners I'm picking up later with my crown I'm kidding when a king cobra feels threatened it will raise its head high off the ground to prepare to strike the side of attack will spread out to create what looks like a hood we also let out a loud hissing noise that kind of sounds like a growl here listen so what hood can I find you in get it oh I got it the king cobra lives in Southeast Asia including parts of India and other countries such as Burma Thailand Indonesia and the Philippines they like to live in forests and near water they could swim really well and can move quickly in trees and on land hey I always see in movies that people hypnotize cobras with flutes is that real it is real but even though it looks like we're being hypnotized by the song the snake charmer is playing it's actually the shape of the flute and the way the charmer moves it that hypnotizes us well it just so happens that I have a flute but whenever I play it no one gets hypnotized they just dance really weird watch [Music] I'd get up and dance with you guys but I think everything on me is broken mr. yellow toast will my face melt if I open this box no that box is filled with beaker creatures they're collectible science toys that kids can experiment with hurry up and open it bubbling volcano reactor that one's pretty cool you could put your reactor pods in the volcano and create a huge eruption alien experiment lab oh you can use that one to make your own reactor pods soak your creatures and slime and more series to reactor pads is this a snake egg no their reactor pods hidden inside of them are the beaker creatures each color indicates which family the beaker creature belongs in for example a green reactor pod would mean it's swamp Boyd Wow I like this one is yellow that
