hey welcome back Robert breaker here and I've got a message that I've had prepared for about two months now I just haven't had a chance to preach it I've been wanting to fix this for quite a while I wanted to call this message understanding salvation I went ahead and wrote that up your understanding salvation I get some emails from time to time from people that say brother breaker out I think I'm safe but I'm not sure and I don't know if I understand completely I doubt if I'm saved or not can you help me with that and so the first thing I do is say well do you understand the gospel and I try to explain to them how important it is to understand and they said would you please make a video about understanding so that we can understand we want to be saved now thankfully those are only a few emails not too many most of the emails I get are real blessing for people that say where the breaker I've never heard the gospel I never understood it and I appreciate your preaching it and a lot of times I get emails from people that say I'm saved now and I know I'm saved I'm trusting and what Jesus had done for me and I have that peace that passeth all understanding I know what you're talking about now they say and their emails what that peace is there's a great joy and a great peace that passes all understanding when you're safe and it's the fact that you know that you're saying so I thought about preaching on understanding salvation but then I realize you know what will help more than anything will be if I preach on miss understanding salvation so what I'll do is I'll show how so many people don't get it and this is how people miss understand salvation this is how they miss it you know there's a lot of people out there to claim to be Christians and they're not and it's a misunderstanding there's a problem they don't understand and that's the reason why there's so many people that claim to be Christians that doubt whether they're saved or not most likely I'm not going to say always but most likely it's because they're not saved they haven't had a perfect understanding there's something lacking that in their understanding so we're going to look at that today we're going to look at misunderstanding salvation and before we do and I show you the people that that I perceive misunderstand what I'm going to do is I'm going to first show you how to understand it so I'm going to make it a - so one basically two-for-one I'm going to show you what's up nation is so that you will understand that'll be the verse first part of a message and then the last part of the message will be how people miss it and I'll give you a list of people that misunderstand salvation and so they say salvation is this or that of the other way and it shows their misunderstanding of the scripture so let's begin in mark chapter 4 mark chapter 4 in verse 12 here are the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and he's talking to people in his day that are lost religious people remember when Jesus Christ showed up it's amazing it's almost the same today Jesus Christ showed up toward the end of the law in a time of apostasy and he showed up to all these apostate religious people that were lost and yet they claim to be God's people it was a time of apostasy when Jesus showed up here at the end of the church age which we are in today we'll be into the church age is the rapture and the Bible says right before the rapture there will be a time of apostasy a great falling away and people have fallen away today as a matter of fact Christianity and the whole has scattered into I think someone told me one time they found three thousand different so-called Christian denominations and they all preach something different why because they don't understand salvation there's a misunderstanding so they divided it up into all these different sects and they all need to come back to the true understanding of the Bible and of salvation so here Jesus is speaking to these lost religious people in the last days it'll be the same right before the rapture is going to be a lot of lost religious people people that claim to be Christians but they're not saved because they have a misunderstanding of salvation and here in mark chapter 4 verse 12 Jesus Christ says that see they may see and not perceive and hearing they may hear and not understand okay so there are people that see and hear but they still don't understand something what is it they don't understand he says that they not understand and understand lest at any time they should be converted and their sin should be forgiven them what is keeping these people from being saved being converted and having their sins forgiven them understanding a lack of understanding has kept them from being saved and what is it well they don't want to believe they don't want to accept what Jesus said let's go over to Acts chapter 28 here we have the Apostle Paul speaking and I would like to look at what Paul said as he is heart evangelist he is our missionary Mia's our apostle for today and in Acts chapter 28 verse 26 and 27 here the Apostle Paul is talking about his ministry and the very end of the book of Acts Paul quotes Jesus so here's the Apostle Paul is quoting Jesus Christ and something that Jesus said so that applies to today it's not just Jesus speaking to the Jews back then is in the church ages under our time period it's our doctrine for today what is being said here by Paul as he quotes Jesus acts 28 26 she says saying none who is saying this will he's telling a story about how God told him this and he says saying go into this people and say hearing me shall hear and shall not understand it seeing you shall see and not perceive now verse 27 says for the heart of this people is waxed gross and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes have they closed lest they should see with their eyes hear with their ears and understand with their hearts and of what it says here and should be converted and I should heal them so he says here they don't see the truth they don't let me write down what they don't they don't see they don't hear and then Jesus says and they don't understand because they don't see hear or understand and that's the most important thing is understanding then they don't get converted so they are lost why are they lost because of a fault or a lack of understanding there's something that they missed that they don't understand and because of that they're lost he says there in verse 28 be it known therefore unto you that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles and they will hear it there's something you need to hear before you can get saved and you got to understand whatever it is to be converted what is it what Paul tells us and I'll just spill the beans it's the gospel God gave to the Apostle Paul the gospel and he said that God told me to go out and preach the gospel and they need to hear it and understand it in order to be converted so if you don't hear the gospel and understand then you're not saved because you can't be saved until you first hear and understand so there's a lot of people that claim to be Christians they have a profession of faith but they don't have possession because they're not saved but they claim with their mouth I'm a Christian yet they have misunderstood salvation so they're not trusting in salvation they're thinking they're saved for some other reason so what does the Bible say did you have to hear and you have to understand one of my favorite verses Ephesians 1:13 you go to the book of Ephesians chapter 1 in verse 13 it Ephesians 1:13 it tells us what you have to hear and understand this is the Apostle Paul telling us about salvation he says the Beast 1:13 in whom ye also trusted after that ye heard the word of truth the gospel of your salvation and whom also after that ye believed you are sealed with that holy spirit of promise so when you understand the gospel after you heard it understanding isn't just enough to save you there's one more set there's one more thing lacking and that's believe you have to believe to be saved now the Bible clearly in this verse tells us what believe is it's to trust so believing is trust the gospel so when you believe or when you trust after that you heard verse 13 that when you believe that's when you were saved that's when you were converted that's when you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise salvation is by believing now there's some folks out there today that don't preach that there's some folks out there today that say well no you know you salvation investor it's by work search by this other thing and you say no no the Bible teaches and salvation is when you believe the gospel they say no no it's not believing it and they attack the Bible without even knowing it I'm going to show you a bunch of verses right now to show you that salvation is by belief by believing but let me make sure to I define what belief are believing is we've just defined it in this verse that it's trusting some people say well believe means you just believe with your head when the Bible salvation is by trust and the trust is from the heart believing from the heart so yes there is a difference wing bleeding from the head bloom from the heart people say what is the difference well believing with the head is just knowing something you just know with your mind that this is true or that is true but the Bible always defines itself so when the Bible is talking about the context of salvation it is not saying if you'll just believe with your mind and you'll get saved that's not what it's saying it's saying when you trust so the understanding comes first then the trust and it's the belief it's being saved by believing or trusting in something so it's from the heart as we'll see here in a minute but go to first Corinthians chapter 1 and verse 18 through 21 I want to read these verses because there's many today that attack the doctrine of salvation by faith by believing and they say well you say you say by believing where you're just you're teaching at both gospel and yet all I'm doing is teaching what the Bible says I wonder if they've ever read the Bible themselves 1st Corinthians 1:18 Paul says for the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness but unto us which are saved in the power of God for it is written I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent these people who don't understand that salvation is by grace through faith alone and by believing well they are going to be brought to nothing the Bible says because they don't believe the gospel they don't believe the preaching of the Cross and it says here verse 20 where is the wise where is the scribe where is the disputer of the world have not God made foolish the wisdom of this world look in verse 21 for after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not god it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that what belief some people say well this fool is to tell someone disbelieved hearsay they say we don't believe you're saved by believing yeah yeah God says it's foolishness to some people some people will look at the gospel and they'll say well that's just foolish to tell somebody or say by just believing it and yet the Bible says when you believe you're safe the end of verse 21 says to save them that believe so when you believe is when you you take a piece in Chapter one I don't know why there are people out there today that won't preach faith I guess it's because they believe there's an element of works involved and I guess they haven't read the Bible because salvation is not of works lest any man should boast Ephesians 1:18 and 19 says the eyes of your understanding being enlightened okay your your eyes of your understanding enlightened it there's some spiritually it's the eyes of your heart your heart has to be enlightened it has to shine a light in your heart there has to be some understanding so the eyes of your understanding being like there's something you need to understand that you mean know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the Saints verse 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us word watch this who believe according to the working of his mighty power so the eyes of your understanding being enlightened you needs to be an understanding there and then you believe and when you believe that's when you're converted go to Romans chapter 1 in verse 16 great verse it tells us this it all ties in with belief and remember that the belief is the gospel trusting in the gospel Romans 1:16 says for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ but is the power of God unto salvation so salvation hopefully you understand is through the gospel and it says it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that what believe it to the Jew first and also to the Greek so believing the gospel is what God asks of us and then when we believe the gospel then we are saved by the power of God because the power of God is the gospel and believing it is how we get salvation unto salvation Acts Acts chapter 15 verse 7 acts 15 7 what does the Bible say in acts 15 7 well here it says acts 15 and verse 7 and when there have been much disputing Peter rose up and said unto them men and brethren you know how that a good while ago God God made choice among us that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the Word of God of the gospel excuse me hear the word of the gospel and believe so to be saved you have to first hear and then understanding they believe and then what and believe so believing the gospel is the way of salvation acts 16:31 what does it say and they said believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved , in the house inferring your house needs to believe on Jesus Christ to be say to verse 30 the question was served what must I do to be saved the answer believe on the Lord Jesus Christ how anyone can say that you're saying not say by believing if someone is not reading the scriptures they're not following the Word of God I don't understand how people can make up a term and call it easy believe ISM and preach against easy believe ISM well that that would deceive a lost person and really add to a dis understanding of salvation because salvation is by believing so Hebrews chapter 11 in verse 6 look at what the Bible says Hebrews 11:6 says but without faith what is faith believing without faith it is impossible to please him who is the him verse 5 it's God so without faith it is impossible to believe to please God for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is reward of them that diligently seek Him all right so God demands something of us what does God demand belief God wants us to believe in something that's what God asks a man believe believe in what well first Timothy chapter 4 verse 10 verse 24 10 says 4 therefore we both labor and suffer reproach because we trust in the Living God who is the savior of all men especially of those that believe so once again the Bible is teaching that believe is what saves us and it defines belief as not just a head belief it's trusting in the gospel it's from the heart that you believe from your being from everything you are I trust completely in the finished work of Jesus Christ so believe so all through the Bible over and over and over and over especially in the epistles of Paul he says again and again and again that salvation is by believing Romans chapter 4 verse 24 we give you a couple more verses on I want to do a little overkill here I guess by giving you as many verses as I can that prove that salvation is by believing but again there must be an understanding and a hearing first of the gospel Romans 4 24 says but for us also to whom it shall be imputed if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead I also you have to believe in something Romans chapter 3 and verse 22 Romans 322 says even the righteousness of God of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe for there is no difference so it's faith so the Bible defines believing as trusts it also defines it as faith faith in what we're going to get to that here in a little while and I'll explain to you what the Bible says that a man's faith should be in in order to be saved but salvation is by faith it's by trusting go to Galatians let me show you another place here Galatians chapter 2 and verse 16 Galatians 2:16 what does it say here Galatians 2:16 says knowing all right that's understanding knowing something is understanding something Galatians 2:16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by the faith of Jesus Christ even we have believed in Jesus Christ that we might be justified by the faith of Christ not by the works of Al offered by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified is that enough verses to show you that we are saved by believing that's what the Bible teaches is when you believe something is when you can say now the question arises believe what yes someone can believe in the head and not in the heart but that's why people have asked me lately once the did was when believing in the head bleeding the heart my grandmother was a great example before she got saved my dad witnessed to my grandmother for many many many years gave her the gospel all the time my grandmother could probably give you the gospel better than any preacher ever in the last 2,000 years she heard the gospel she was so full of gospel buckshot and if you went to my grandmother and you asked her do you believe that Jesus died was buried and rose again the third day according to Scripture she said yes I believe he did that and she believed in her mind that that happened that truly took place in history about 2,000 years ago but you would ask my grandmother now are you saying she'd say no and you said why she goes well I just believe he did it for the whole world but I don't really believe you did it for me do you see the difference now before she dies about a year or two before she died my dad had passed away and my grandmother and I we were alone in our other house and we're sitting at the dinner table my grandmother looks at me and she says she says why don't you tell me the gospel again I'm ready to hear it now but yet she's heard it already so many years and so I said okay this is it and I took her to the gospel I showed her Christ crucified I showed his blood shed for her on the cross of Calvary I showed her but salvation is by believing trusting with all that you are from from the heart in the finished work of Christ and what he has done for her and I'll never forget it my grandmother looked at me tears were welling up in her eyes and she goes I believe that Jesus did it for me you see the difference before she'd heard it and she she believed it in the head a little bit she kind of yeah I believe that there was a guy named Jesus I believe he really did die but she never accepted it for her she never received it to herself she never trusted in what Jesus did for her she didn't make it personal she didn't apply it to herself but then my dad passed away to begin to think about life after death and she said you know I believe it I believe it what does that mean she's saying I trust it I know it was for me I accept it I take what Jesus did for me she took what Jesus did for her by faith you say what hope I'm going to get into that right now but salvation is by receiving what God offers which is salvation it's a free gift if it's a gift and you take it you can't steal it there's not that thing is stealing something if it's a gift that's been given to you all you that the person giving to give backs ask is that you receive it the best ones verse says as many as received him to be to them gave he power to become sons of God your salvation is by receiving through faith what Jesus has done for you receiving eternal life by faith so I hope that's enough verses to show you that salvation is by believing and I hope I've explained the difference between belief in the head and believed in the heart believing in the head is just you believe that it happened but believing from the heart is when you receive it unto yourself when you trust it completely the hey it was for me and I accept it for me I believe the finished work of Jesus Christ was for me I trust that Jesus did that and I accept it I trust what he did for me now the question is the salvation is by believing or by faith faith in what what should a person's faith be in if fate saves us what is it that saved them we're saved by what well according to the Bible and we'll get to this here in a minute we're saved by faith in the blood I'm going to take you through the scriptures and give you an understanding of salvation and I hope that you will understand what salvation is because many people today they read the Bible and they don't get it they want to make salvation something they do and they it's like they're blinded to what salvation is hebrews chapter 19 verse 22 the Bible says and almost all of things let me turn into it about to quote it and I want to quote it wrong Hebrews 9:22 the Word of God says and almost all things are by the law purged with blood and without the shedding of blood there is no remission now what does that mean it means with the blood the blood has to be shed before there can be a remission what is remission the forgiveness of sins all throughout the Bible this cannot be denied God has always demanded blood sacrifice for sin so every time someone's sinned and God said you're gonna have to kill something and the only way I can forgive that sin is if something's blood is shed now when you read the Bible have you ever heard what's called the law first mention usually it's taught in many Bible schools and the law first mentioned says whatever is mentioned first in the Bible usually that's the same way from then on it's the law of first mention you go to the Bible and what took place in the Bible let's start from the beginning I'm gonna go all the way back to Genesis what happened all the way back there you had Adam and Eve Adam and Eve sinned and the Bible tells us that when Adam and Eve sinned that God took an animal and he clothed them with the skins of that animal now if I will doesn't say that it was a lamb but it's implied most certainly it most likely was a lamb can you imagine that ghastly scene when Adam and Eve saw a poor innocent animal and God just went and cut his throat and all that red blood came out and God said I'm so angry at your sin I demand blood and I can either kill you Adam and Eve and squash you like a grape or I can take the most innocent beautiful little creature and kill it in your place and except it's blood and that's what God did so God showed Adam and Eve that when a person sins there's a sacrifice and it the only way to appease the wrath of God is by blood sacrifice so the teaching of blood sacrifice our blood helmut is throughout the entire bible and we see that in the book of Genesis portrayed in the two sons of Adam and Eve one of the sons name was Abel and the other son's name was Cain now hope you know the story of Cain and Abel Abel was the good son and Cain was the bad son and what happened is there was a time when Cain and Abel decided that they would now watch this the Bible says call upon the name of the Lord interesting Old Testament book of Genesis then they came to call upon the name of the Lord now when they call upon the name of the Lord a diesel came out and built a Little Rock altar and Cain came out and did what his brother did a milk a little rock altar and they came before God to call upon God and Abel brought Elena most likely because he watched and listened to Adam and Eve and how God killed a lamb for their sins so he probably said and so he brought this animal he brought this lamb and he placed it here and he probably spent something like God I come to you but I know I can't come to you without a blood sacrifice so god I come to you accept this this lamb in my place for my sins and he killed that lamb and the blood ran all over those rocks and the Bible said that Abel's sacrifice was accepted of God he called upon God but not without blood it was the blood that he had to have in order to come before God because God hates sin and God needs something to pacify him for the sin and the blood the shedding of blood brought remission of sin so he couldn't call on God without an offer imagine if Abel had come before God and built all the rocks and he goes well God did forgive me and just walked away he would not have been forgiven there had to have been a blood atonement a blood sacrifice now what did Cain do Kane came to God he says well God you know I had a pretty good crop this year and here's a couple turnips and you know here's here's a watermelon except that for my ends and you know god I have some grapes I got a good crop of grapes this year and he began to try to make an offering of the things that he grew in his garden he was a tiller of the ground Hey look at this pineapple God take this pineapple and he tried to offer up the fruit of his labor which is a great type of someone trying to come to God and offer to God their own sacrifice and try to ask God to accept what they do rather than coming to God with a blood sacrifice so Cain's offering the Bible says was rejected why did God reject the offering of Cain no blood without the shedding of blood there's no remission of sin God rejects you if you don't have a blood sacrifice in your place now all throughout the entire Old Testament it cannot be denied that every time someone tried to come to God they had to come and they learn from Adam and Eve even Abel you've got to come through blood so the doctrine of blood atonement is the biblical teaching in the biblical doctrine of salvation or forgiveness of sins through blood now under the Old Testament law from here all the way over to here there was the law of Moses under the law God set up on the law the way that a person can bring that sacrifice and they had to under the law sacrifice the animal but it was always through blood atonement and almost always a land that sometimes it could have been another animal a bull or whatever a Bullock or something else so the entire Old Testament before Jesus Christ you cannot read the Bible without seeing the doctrine of blood atonement for forgiveness of sins you do not dare come to God without blood in front of you on your behalf because the only way that God would give you forgiveness is if you have blood now do you understand that many people don't many people misunderstand salvation they have what I like to call a bloodless gospel and they try to teach salvation has come together the best way you know how or however you want to and it's okay you don't have to come through the blood you have the entire Bible and we'll look at the New Testament here in a minute it's always through the blood atonement so how can anyone try to tell you you can get to heaven without the blood even the lost religious pagans of their day understood this doctrine I'm reading through the book of Herodotus right now who wrote exists what 200 years after Jesus or the 200 before or something I can't remember but a row that this was this ancient historian he's writing all this hearsay basically a lot of its hearsay where he traveled all around Egypt and other places and he heard what they said was historical he wrote it down and I love history so I'm reading Herodotus but one thing that really jumps out has been all the ancients from all the way back even though that didn't worship the true God they all believed in blood atonement and they always had these festivals every year when they were come and they would not come to their false gods without a blood sacrifice they knew that their false gods would not be appeased until that blood was shed what is that that's Satan imitating the way to come to the true God through a blood sacrifice so Satan had his blood atonement his blood sacrifices now they were wrong they weren't a god but Satan understood salvation that blood is what it took to appease God and so he set up his false gods and he told the false people to pagan people to appease my gods you have to come to red blood sacrifice and they didn't dare have their pagan festivals without having a blood sacrifice of an animal or in some cases a human being now that's disgusting a human sacrifice that's sick that's wicked that's ungodly but what I'm trying to show you here is that they understood that the blood was what appease the wrath of their gods and that the true God is only a peace through blood sacrifice well up shows Jesus Christ and what does the Bible say the Bible says in the book of John John the Baptist said behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world what is Jesus Christ called the lamb where was Jesus Christ born a manger what better place for someone who's going to be a lamb to be born that in a manger why would Jesus born to take away the sin of the world how did he take away the sin well Jesus shed his blood without the forgiveness without the shedding of what they've done forgiveness of sins Jesus had to shed his blood for our sins so Jesus is blood atonement if the blood atonement of salvation today we do not dare come to God by sacrificing an animal today we don't need to our sacrifice our blood atonement has been made and the Bible says we can come boldly unto the throne of grace through the blood of Jesus Christ now let's understand salvation remember they would not dare call upon God or their gods without blood so salvation today the blood atonement has been made yet to come to God how we come to him just as Abel came to God in the Old Testament through a blood sacrifice the only way to come to God is through the blood atonement so still we have to come to God through the blood so what happens if someone tries to get saved but they bypass the blood of Jesus Christ when they go straight to hell who would bypass the blood of Jesus Christ it's always been through the blood that a person is say now Romans chapter 3 verse 25 look at what the Apostle Paul tells us salvation is Romans 3:25 whom God had set forth to be a propitiation the word propitiation little means the act of appeasing wrath but it can also I like to define it as be defined as a substitute Jesus Christ is our substitute he's the one that was our sacrifice langham in our place just as abel say god take this in my place Jesus came he's in my place he's my substitute he's my propitiation he's my sacrifice of blood for my sins so I cannot come to God unless I come behind Jesus I take this blood in my place now what does the Bible say in Romans 3:25 whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood so he's my sacrifice when my faith isn't in his blood the question was asked what do we trust in what do we believe in to be saved we trust the blood atonement we trust the blood atonement of Jesus Christ that salvation it's not our blood that we sacrifice that will get us to heaven it's not what we do we can't get to God without the shedding of blood there's no remission since we can't even comment on let's there's some blood for us and here shed his blood Jesus Christ now I want to call on God we'll have to come through the blood so how do I call upon God I trust that blood when I trust the blood Romans 3:25 says Jesus becomes my substitute my propitiation he becomes my sacrifice he now is the forgiveness of my sins because I my faith received what Jesus did for me through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness notice what I'm doing I'm declaring Jesus righteous I'm saying the only way I can come to you is through what you did I trust your blood because that's the only thing that I can accept that will forgive me so I come to you that's understanding salvation calling through a blood atonement you have to trust the blood to declare his righteousness for the rich the sins are past through the forbearance of God so Jesus Christ is the righteous now what is Romans chapter 5 and verse 19 much more then being now justified by his blood we shall be saved from wrath through him you know were actually saved by three things we're actually saved by grace through faith we're also saved by faith and we're saved by blood we just saw that here and there's three places in the Bible where it says justified you know what justified is the amazing word in English just if I you break that English word up justified salvation is just if I've never seen because when I trust a blood atonement of Christ God washes my sins away in his blood I received the forgiveness of since and in God's eyes it's just if I never sinned the Bible says in Romans chapter 3 we're justified by grace I believe it's verse 24 being justified freely by His grace so we're justified by grace then in verse 28 I believe it is it says where we are justified by faith and the Romans 5:9 says were justified by blood so the gospel teaching of salvation the way of eternal salvation understanding salvation correctly is understanding that salvation is by God's grace and it's on his grace that we're safe through our faith without our faith we can't be saved so we have to place faith in the finished work of Christ we certainly can't have our faith in what we do our God will reject us like the rejected Cain so salvation our justification is by God's grace through our faith in Jesus's blood so how about it are you saved are you trusting the blood of Jesus Christ that salvation go to Romans chapter 5 and verse 11 the Apostle Paul makes it very clear that salvation is by receiving through faith something it by receiving it's by accepting it's by taking yes I'm going to use the word taking taking God up his promise is what you do taking receiving accepting what is salvation you have to receive it by faith what do you receive Romans 5:11 says that not only so but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ but whom we have now received the one receive the atonement when your faith is in the blood of Christ that's when you've received the atonement when you receive the atonement that's when you get say that salvation is a free gift it's being saved or trusting what Jesus Christ did for you now go to first Peter 1:18 to 90 let me show you this this is not a made-up doctrine of my own this is valuable and if you actually read the entire Bible and understand it and in the law first men you see it in light of history and in light of of what true religion has been throughout history it's always having to come through a blood sacrifice you cannot deny that Jesus is the blood sacrifice for the sins of the world and that salvation is by trusting the blood atonement of Jesus Christ it's that simple and yet so many misunderstandings salvation Peter tells us in first Peter 1:18 and 19 for as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your father's but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish without spot so what does you say here redemption being redeemed bought back saved is through the precious blood of Jesus Christ let's go back to Acts chapter 8 Acts chapter 8 is an interesting both the book of Acts is a hard book to understand because it's a book of transition exchanging but Knox chapter 7 the Jews reject them aside for the final time and then we see God starting to go more to the Gentiles for salvation because the Jews rejected their Messiah and God comes to this guy named Philip and it goes Philip there's this certain Ethiopian eunuch drop riding along and he's reading the Bible I want you to go talk to him in Acts chapter 8 of verse 30 flecks in verse 29 then the spirit said unto Philip go near and join thyself to his chariot verse 30 and Philip ran thither to him and heard him read the prophet Isaiah and said watch what he said understand this out without readest do you have any understanding of the scriptures do you understand it because that's the most important thing is understanding because you can't be converted until you first understand here's what the eunuch said verse 31 how can i except some man should guide me now Philip came up and set with him or sit with him verse 32 the place of the scripture which he read with this listen to what he read he was led as a sheep to the slaughter and like a lamb dumb before this year so open he not his mouth in his humiliation his judgment was taken away and who shall declare his generation for his life is taken from the earth verse 35 says then filled open his mouth and begins the same scripture and preached into him Jesus the lamb he's reading in the Bible about a lamb slain for somebody sins and bill says that's Jesus he's the blood atonement trust him and verse 37 and in Philip said if thou believest with all thine heart thou mayest so believe what about believing it's connected with believing or trusting in Jesus who was the substitute who died in our place for our sin who was the blood sacrifice for our sins Ephesians 1:9 excuse me visions 1:7 says this is so important because most of your modern day Christians preach a bloodless gospel they leave out entirely the blood of Jesus Christ but the Bible says in Ephesians 1:7 in whom we have redemption through his blood the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace it's through the blood that we have a remission of sins Redemption really and we have forgiveness of sins so the way to have sense forgiven is to come through the blood and salvation is by faith believe it now if you deny the salvation is by faith or by believing that you have a misunderstanding of scriptures you don't understand salvation hopefully you'll come to that understanding that salvation is by believing and then you'll ask the question now believe in what the answer is you trust the blood you trust the gospel now you said which one is and I had people email which one is do I trust the gospel I trust the blood the gospel is the blood atonement of Christ the gospel is all about the atonement 1st Corinthians 15 1 through 4 is the gospel it says in that verse this is so important it says how that Christ died for our sins how did Christ die through shedding his blood when Jesus died he shed every drop of blood he was buried where was Jesus buried in the ground I could take you to the book of Hebrews and show you where the blood of Jesus Christ the Bible says cries out to God from the ground so Christ died was buried buried in the same ground that his blood was shed into and then he rose again the third day when Jesus rose again what did he do the Bible says he took his blood and put it on the mercy seat in heaven and then it says twice according to the scripture what does that mean according to scripture every single lamb sacrificed in the Old Testament was a type of becoming Lamb of God that shed his blood for the sense of the world now you want to understand salvation and I hope you do you need to understand the blood go to Hebrews with me a lot of people today to understand and so they preach a bloodless gospel and they're not preaching the gospel salvation and what they're doing is they're causing people to doubt whether they're saved or not and people will email me or call me and say you know I was watching this guy or hearing this tape or listen to this preacher and I'm just so confused and I say okay let's look at the blood atonement and after taking them through this they're not confused they say man hi trust what Jesus did I trust his blood because that's the only thing that I can come to God through I need him to call on God if I don't call with blood so I trust the blood atonement of Christ Hebrews chapter 9 verse 12 Hebrews 1:12 says these words talking about Jesus Christ in verse 11 says neither by the blood of goats and calves like they did in the Old Testament but Jesus Christ by his own blood entered in once into the holy place having attained obtained of ternal Redemption eternal Redemption so Jesus Christ is the Redeemer he is the one that redeems so we are not redeemed by our works or by what we do it's all based upon what Jesus Christ did when he shed his blood for our sins so what have you done with the blood what have you done with the blood of Christ go to chapter 10 of Hebrews he percent in by the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all Jesus offered himself up what on the cross shedding every drop of blood and every priest and in daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take away sins verse 12 but this man Jesus after he had will offer one sacrifice percent forever set down on the right hand of God verse 14 for by one offering he has perfected forever them that are sanctified that's eternal security know verse nineteen having therefore brethren boldness to into the holiest by the blood of Jesus how do I get to heaven I can boldly say that the only way I have to enter into heaven is through that blood of Jesus Christ without the blood without faith in the blood I'm not even saved you say when do you trust the book July 29th 1992 when I understood someone finally showed it to me I've been in church for 18 years never heard the message once of the gospel but all every night I call on God and cry and begging to save me and plead with God I was trying to come to God but I didn't have the blood I'm so glad I understood so you have to come to that understanding and that's when you believe in your save Hebrews chapter 10 verse 29 10:29 says now watch this of how much sorer punishment suppose ye shall he be thought worthy who hath trodden under foot the Son of God and hath counted the blood of the Covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing and it's done despite unto the spirit of grace God warns us he says watch out for those people that don't look at the blood that don't preach the blood they don't think the blood is that important like many in modern Christianity why it says vengeance belongeth to me I will recompense saith the Lord and again the Lord shall judge his people it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands and living God yeah it sure is are you preaching the blood have you received the atonement Roman 5:11 that's when you get saved Romans 5:11 says you receive the atonement Paul tells those people in Rome when you receive the atonement that's when you got saved What did he say he said in Romans 3:25 when you trust the blood that's when you get saved so have you done that have you trusted to be believed well there's people out there preaching another gospel and it's saying what is that other gospel look before I go there look at what it says here in John 1:12 but as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God so salvation is by receiving something how do you receive it by faith now let's go to 2nd Corinthians chapter 11 and verse 4 Sigyn grizzly is 11 for for if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus and you not preached or if you receive another spirit which you have not received or another gospel which you have not accepted you might very well within accepting and receiving our biblical terms salvation is by faith or by believing when you believe you receive salvation eternal life it's accepting the gospel have you accepted have you trusted the gospel well the way to trust the gospel is to trust the blood atonement of Jesus Christ so salvation is by accepting or by faith believing or trusting in or taking the free gift that God offers romans chapter 5 verses 15 through 18 over and over and over in that passage that says salvation is a free gift the free get the free get the free gift you either take that free gift by faith and receive it or you reject it it's a gift that God offers you receive that gift and when you receive that gift some people say well that's stealing from God if someone gives you a gift then you take it that's not a thief it's receiving something that someone offered by grace what a wonderful thing is someone offers a gift that's that's wonderful and understand people sometimes the way they talk so salvation is by Christ's blood atonement and faith in it what he's done it's not what we do first Corinthians 15 ones and four says that salvation is by grace says that you're saved by grace through faith and it says that you're saved by believing the gospel unless you believed in vain what does it mean to believe in vain well it means to believe in yourself or something you've done or is to not believe at all it's the bleed like my grandmother for many years just with a head oh I believe all that but not accepting it personally for herself these my old pastor used to say it's the difference between the atonement and the application the atonement has been made by Christ for all men but it's not applied until you receive it by faith that's when it's applied that's when you're safe when you say okay I trust that I accept that to myself I trust what Jesus Christ has done now with that stated there are people out there that think that salvation is a different way and I'm going to write up here what they think there's some people that think that salvation is by works these people are wrong and I want you to get this because these are the people that miss understand salvation some people think well you know Jesus died and buried and rose again that's great he proved he was God and that's all great but now the way to get to heaven is you do good works and God will accept your good works and you'll get to heaven no that's not salvation salvation is receiving by faith the finished work of Jesus Christ again Abel's came to God through blood sacrifice he was not saying look at how great I am God and look at what I do accept my works he was saying I'm scum I'm worthless I can't offer anything please take this in my place and don't kill me I trust in you and I trust his blood will appease your wrath please God I accept you what was he trusting and he was trusting in the blood he wasn't trusting in his works what about Cain okay he was saying hey God I don't care I'm not the bad person I I stupid brother thinks he's he's a you know hey look at what I did God look how great I am please accept my works and the Bible says God said nope I'm not going to accept what you do so if anyone thinks that they have to work their way to heaven what are they thinking they're thinking making it to heaven by what they do they have misunderstood salvation and they have not understood that salvation is by believing trusting and what Jesus has done for you so it's all about what Jesus has done what does the Bible say well Bible says in Ephesians 2:8 9 for by grace are you saved through faith that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast Romans chapter 4 verse 4 now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace but a bit verse 5 but to him that worketh not but watch this but believe it on him that justifies the ungodly his faith is counted for right oh you mean the Bible teaches you're say when you believe oh ok so salvation is not by what we do salvation is when we believe our trust and what Jesus Christ did for us now how can anyone argue with the scripture how could anyone argue with that teaching that's what the Bible teaches Titus chapter 3 and verse 5 says not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost so it's not by our works that we do it's not us saying look at how good I am like Cain look at what good idea we're saved whether or not we are trusting in the finished work of Christ the blood atonement the gospel the blood sacrifice on our behalf do you trust that if you don't and you think that salvation is by your works you have misunderstood salvation and you've missed it you've missed it there's other people that think well salvation is by the church there's a gigantic church in the world today that says well if you love come to our church you can be saved and they say there's no salvation outside of our church and so they tell you this church says you got to do this and you got to do that you got to do this and you can only be saved by doing these things in our church again that's works that's a bloodless gospel and that's taking the emphasis off of what Jesus did and trying to tell you that there's something else that saves you but in Acts chapter 4 verse 10 it says salvation is not in a church it says there's no salvation in any other except Jesus Christ none of their name under heaven whereby you must be saved some people think well salvation is by a right or a ritual or here's a good one baptism in water some people think well if I get baptized in water then I'll be saved oh really by what you do a lot of people today that they go back to the water that will get me to heaven well then why did Paul say this in 1st Corinthians chapter 1 verse 15 chapter 1 verse 17 Paul says for Christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the gospel not with the wisdom of words lest the Christ across the Christ should be made of none effect for the preaching of the Cross is them to perish foolishness but what unless that are saved as the power of God it's not water baptism that saves us it's whether or not you've trusted the gospel the blood of Jesus Christ again someone's misunderstanding salvation thinking I've got washed from my sins by water no you didn't all you did was take it back besides your sins are on your souls in the blood of Jesus Christ reaches down to the soul and washes you're so clean through the blood of Jesus Christ now there's other people to think this some people think well I'm saved but what I say with my mouth and they just any way that they can they try to make salvation based upon what they do all right that's what they want to do they want to misunderstand salvation and they want it to all be something that they do because they want to have a part in it so they want salvation so badly to be all I have to do something to be saved there's some people are going outside well you got to say the sinner's prayer and if you repeat this prayer then you'll get saved okay let's look at that in light of salvation what did you come to God and you ask God to save you in sinner's prayer or whatever and you don't trust the blood did you get saved no you have misunderstood salvation you thought that your mouth saved you or your prayer save you or they thought you said something that you said saves you so you're trusting in what you do or what you say so you're not saved so it's not a prayer that says now when that said a person can get saved when they pray I was going to read my dad's testimony of salvation at the end of this message my dad got said while he prayed but he wasn't trusting in his prayer he finally understood it and he was trusting only in the blood atonement of Christ so don't misunderstand and think it's a pro to saves you it's whether or not you're trusting the blood that saves you there's some people who say well you're saying when you call Romans 10:13 and they want to take calling and make calling into a work of the mouth well look at Abel he didn't dare call upon God without a blood sacrifice all about the entire Old Testament when they came to the Lord and they called on God they knew I can't come to God unless my sins are covered with something so the only way I'm going to call all guys I'm going to have to bring a sacrifice well Jesus is now our sacrifice what do you do if somebody tells you well just calling God and ask them to saving you go oh god save me and you bypass the blood atonement of Christ are you saying no you're very presumptuous aren't you you're thinking you're safe because you said something but you're not trusting the one Jesus saying now you can save when you pray I'm not against that but if you come and you do anything other than simply rest by faith I love the term rest or rely and finish work of Christ through believing through faith that all you've done is a vain repetition with your mouth it's not what you say it's not what you pray well there's other ones that say let's confession when you confess in your mouth that's when you can say also the mouth saves you so it's what you say that saves you you see how people want so badly salvation to have a part in it and say I did this or I did that let's go Romans 10:9 attend that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved and they say see you have to believe and say something with a mat whoa whoa hold on so you get to do something to get sex oh it's an element of work so it's faith that works it's none another what does it say the rest of the verse verse 10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness when I believe the gospel by faith that's what I'm imputed Christ's righteousness and then it says when the mouth confession is made unto salvation what does it mean confession is made unto salvation when I'm saved because i'm saved by believing the gospel then i'll confess what is confession confession is saying something that happened to you i got saved and then i confess a I'm saved I didn't confess to get saved there are people out there to try to turn confession into a work and tell you you're safe at work that you do and basically they're trying to get you to do something and then they proclaim you say because you did something with your mouth alright what if you said oh I believe in Jesus but you have not trust the gospel are you saved but yet there's countless people out there that misunderstand salvation they don't see the blood atonement and so they're trusting in something they do with their mouth rather than faith in the heart in say Corinthians 4:13 look what Paul says we having the same spirit of faith according as is written I believed and therefore have spoken we also believe and therefore we speak when we believe is when we get safe after we're saved then we'll confess yea I'm safe but the confession itself is that what saves you the verse makes it very clear it's the belief that saves us let me take you to another passage mark chapter 16 I believe it is there are some people out there again to think that salvation is by water baptism these people and they like to go to mark chapter let's see what it is 16:16 and they go to mark 16:16 and says he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved and they say see salvation is not by faith alone is by faith and then your work your baptism did they read the rest of the verse in the very next part says but he that believeth not shall be damned it does not say that he that believeth not and is not baptized shall be same so be damned so the understanding is when you believe then you'll be baptized with what with the Holy Spirit Holy Spirit baptism takes place when you believe some people say that's water baptism well if you studied book of Acts you'll see that when you're saying you are baptized into the body of Christ through the Holy Spirit so people will do anything they want to misunderstand something and try to make it something they do they say hello believing isn't enough you've got to add this thing to it whether it's something you do with your mouth or getting bad things and water or some work they want to make it something you do to get to heaven here's another one there's some people out there that say well the way to be saved is to just ask God to save you okay what if you ask God to save you but you don't trust God to save you are you saved what if you come to God and you know not think about the blood atonement of Christ or the gospel and you say oh god I don't want to go to hell please save me did you just get saved how on going to person believe that that's cane that's someone has come to God outside of the blood atonement and is begging for salvation there's a guy named TT Martin back in the 1800's he live 1862 to 1939 he wrote a book called God's playing for man there's pretty interesting stuff in his book and one of the things he wrote in his book is he went to the Hebrews verse over there in Hebrews it talks about it just recompense of award he says every transgression I'm going to read from his writing here every transgression month Emma just recompense of reward however sorry the center may be however much he may beg or ask to be forgiven or let off however much the priest or the preacher of the friends may pray for him to be forgiven or let off a man who had violated the state law comes before the judge confessed confesses his sins and begs the judge to forgive him to be let off and he calls men from the audience to come and help him beg the judge replies if I should yield to these petitions I would be a perjurer I would trample on law every transgression must receive a just recompense of reward when to God that all could realize that every prayer from sinner priest or preacher for a sinner to be forgiven let off is a prayer to God to become a perjurer if sinners could realize that a ball after all they're kneeling every night and confessing their sins and praying to be forgiven and be let off every sin ever committed is still there and that without the shedding of blood there is no remission percent they would then realize their need of a savior and Redeemer this guy CC Martin lived in a time when there were people called Unitarians in the Unitarian movement up north went around and they denied the blood atonement of Jesus Christ it doesn't take much studying to find who the Unitarian Universalists were and they hated this teaching as a matter of fact Westcott for people like that they accepted this Unitarian Universalist teaching and they may aboard they hated the teaching of a vicarious substitute of Jesus dying in your place for your sins they mocked it and made fun of it said oh that's just sick that's gross to believe that someone blood aliy died in your place for your sins they thought a doctrine of you have to get saved by works and that they said that salvation is with the mouth and accuses got to save you then they gotta forgive you your sins that's where this modern-day ask God to save you teaching comes from and it's not hard to find because you go back in church history you find over and over and over the true Christians are pointing people to the blood atonement of Christ in the same trust the blood trust Jesus Christ trust the gospel trust the shed blood to be saved so you have two different teachings one is you understand salvation and you trust the blood and you're safe the other is well you don't have to know anything about this if you just say Oh God save me you'll get to heaven which one is right which one is right some people want to make salvation a work of the lips without any faith in the heart from the heart in the gospel of salvation it's so sad to me to see people going around preaching a bloodless gospel now I know people will attack me for this message and that's fine I hope they do I can't wait to see their their their attacks because what they will be doing is attacking the blood of Christ if they attack this teaching and said Ronald Reagan you're so wrong you're so wrong you can be saved by this that or the other thing without trusting the blood that you are attacking the blood of Christ and the Bible said how much more sore punishment so you have four counting the blood of Christ of note of none none importance why would you hate God in the blood that He shed why would you try to divert people from trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ I've never understood that I'm not understood why people want so bad salvation to be something they do and then preach against believing in what Jesus has done for you my dad wrote his testimony before he died he goes through here he talks about some of the things that he did before he was saved he says in January of 1965 I was in a boot camp and and someone gave me the comic book of Prayer and I prayed that all night and I felt like I had a relationship with God because I talked to God and I prayed often was I say of course not in 1966 I attended a Billy Graham movie at the downtown theater and they said if I didn't confess Jesus before men then he wouldn't confess me before the Father so I walked down the to tell them that I was not afraid to confess Jesus before me was I saved of course not remember he had never heard the gospel yet he says well I went to church in 1966 and st. Andrew's Episcopal church every Sunday and I had wonderful feelings of joy contentment with religion when I did the rituals was I safe of course not I enrolled in confirmation classes and I told him I've been christened in the Catholic Church as an infant and they accepted that well they're saved of course not on and on and on I don't even have time to finish my dad's testimony of salvation but he goes through shows how all these things he thought he had to do to get saved and he did um but he wasn't saying when was it that he got saved actually let me read this part first my dad went to the to the Bible School of dr. Peter ruckman and my dad was lost he said one night in class the mr. Rahman asked if I was the person who owned the Christian bookstore in a natural food store on 9th Avenue in Pensacola and I said yes and the pastor said well there is a saved man and that gave me an emotional tingling my dad says that immediately the words praise God rolled off my lips because I thought I was saved because he said so does that make me safe of course not my dad gives a testimony salvation he goes through about how all these things happened in life and he had a great big misunderstanding of salvation then he says one morning about 10:30 on the August 4th 1978 I was alone in my living room wondering about my salvation I said I'd better settle this I fell on my knees about my head in class money ins I asked God to show me whether I was going to heaven or not I said God if I'm not saved I want to be the Bible says to examine yourselves in 2nd Corinthians 13:5 my dad knew some Bible so he was quoting scripture to the Lord I talked to God not asking him anything I just talked with him and I quoted dozens of scriptures from memory and then I told him I was not trusting in my own righteousness for I had none that I was trusting in his righteousness which he imputed to me and then he said lord I thank you for watching me in in my sins from your own blood like it says in Revelation 1 and then right then he says right then the eyes of my understanding were enlightened I realized oh all these things that I've been doing I was doing those hoping if I did those I get to happen and then he realized the scriptures and understanding the eyes of his of his understanding were like that he realize you know I wasn't trusting this he says and this is his testimony I didn't ask him to save me I didn't ask God to save me I simply trusted him and then thanked him for so doing and he washed me from my sins in his own blood had saved me right there giving me the new birth I fold out again you said believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you'll be saved Lord I believe I believe you did it all there's nothing I can do to save me even the very best I could do would send me straight to hell I trust only in you for salvation I told the Lord I believe him when he said on the cross that is finished and I said God I am satisfied and he quoted Romans 3:25 when God is read for to be a propitiation through faith in his blood what happened that night or that morning August 4th 1978 at 10:30 my dad understood all my life I've been trusting in the church in the water baptism and the things I said in my works and I had misunderstood salvation I didn't realize hey it's all about trusting what Jesus did for you and that's what my dad says he got saved and that's his testimony now there'll be people that say well your dad was insane your dad never got saved because all he did was just believe the gospel from with his head and not from his heart over Italy really how do you know I was there when my dad died I was at the hospital room standing by his side and I'll tell you there was something in that room it was the most amazing joy and peace that I've ever felt in my life I don't know if that's what an angel feels like or what but I watched my dad when he died and he opened his eyes and his smile was on his face that he looked up into heaven and the goosebumps just went all over me and I looked at my that is he went home to heaven and he was looking up and I kept looking back and forth they could god I wish I could see what he's seeing right now and if so my dad died I know 100% beyond any shadow of a doubt that my dad was a saved man and I know where he went when he died I was there when he died I know 100% that I was saved man I am trusting alone in the finished work of Christ his blood atonement on the cross I showed you the verses today that salvation is by believing after you understand the gospel and I've tried to show you how people get so messed up by misunderstanding salvation some people think we'll the works that save me other people they know there's only so much to my church so unless I'm a part of that church I'm not safe others think they're saved by one pass another try to invent this oh I gotta say something with the mouth and if I didn't say it right I didn't get saved you can do all that stuff without coming through the blood atonement of Christ and you're still lost so my question to you today is when did you get saved you didn't get saved until you first heard the Bible says in Romans 10:17 faith everybody here here by the word of god and then understood and then believed if you never understood this about the gospel about the blood of Christ if you never understood that salvation is by grace through faith alone is always trusting on what he's done then you can be saved how can you be saved by trusting in something you've never heard for some of you this might be the very first time that you've heard this message of the blood atonement well the question that is what did you get saved I met people that are here a message like this but then they're so prideful they say well I can't I can't leave what I did and now no I would say back then and then you ask them but when did you hear about the blood when you believed it I don't know but I just I can't and they're so full of pride that they won't get saved I hope you're not one of them if this is new to you and this is a first time you've ever understood salvation I hope you get saved through this if you claim to be a Christian I hope you will accept this teaching all I've done today is tell you what the Bible says about how to be saved I've tried to help you understand salvation there is no salvation outside the blood atonement of Christ it's always been by blood atonement throughout the whole Bible and if you're trying to bypass the blood and get to Jesus you're going to rot in the fiery flames of hell because you are saying the blood of Christ is not important now I know there's some people out there that might attack this message and I hope they do because it become very clear to anyone that listens to them that what they're attacking is the gospel of salvation and the blood atonement of Christ I've gotten emails already from people saying brother breaker there's people you know that speak against you and they say that you preach a false gospel and I write them back and I say so what does that mean and they all say the same thing that means that that person denies the blood atonement of Christ because the begins what you preach is to be against the blood atonement of Christ and I say man so what does that mean that means we need to stay away from such people I hope you get the message and we'll be getting clear I hope you understand salvation and I hope there's no more misunderstanding the only way to come to Jesus Christ and be saved is through the blood and faith through believing in the blood atonement of Christ after you hear the gospel understanding belief then is when you get converted are you saved have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power are you lost in the mud of the land oh you trusting soul enid blood this hour are you washed in the blood of the Lamb it's all about the blood of Christ and whether or not you're trusting that blood to get you to have that hope you're safe we'll see you next week with another gospel message from the scriptures that point to Christ and him alone for salvation and what Jesus did not what you claimed to do to get you to have thank you for watching we'll see you next week
