Meow Wolf's Omega Mart - At Area 15

hey you all carpetbagger here coming to you live from the west more specifically las vegas nevada and even more specifically than that we are area 15. now in 2018 i visited an attraction that changed my life meow wolf house of eternal return in santa fe new mexico an interactive art environment but that's almost like a simple way to put it it was a life-changing immersive attraction that i feel is the future of roadside attractions i was very excited to find out that they were they were creating different meow wolf installations across the country and this here area 15 is the location of the second meow wolf installation a completely separate uh exhibit from the one that is in santa fe they are opening what is called omega mart a a grocery store themed experience here inside area 15. now this is my first time here at area 15 my understanding is that area 15 is a larger um kind of artistic environment and that meow wolf has their own section inside of area 15. so this is all due to me we're going to experience this together please follow [Music] me [Music] you can see the coordinates there on the side of the building and right behind us is what appears to be a wrecked aircraft of some sort notice this is a area 15 caution tape it says this plane does not exist looks like we enter through this sculpture garden here this crystallized walkway whoa look at that look at this massive multicolored owl right here this is meccan nine appears to be some sort of giant robot some sort of steampunk robot it's been smashed apart and left here abandon oh look you can see his face there can anyone translate what these symbols mean let's see a very rusted looking version of the fabulous las vegas side all right i'm being allowed in to area 15. oh immediately the senses get hit oh the gorgeous close oh there it goes oh my gosh created by a giant skull all right here is omegamart all right lining up to enter omegamart proper let's see ads for some of the products inside what is the true essence of butter slime apples all right and we're officially in omegamart check this out [Music] a new car flavor lomega oh you can see the different varieties of cola miracle liquid fog water there is so much so much to look at i'm i'm losing my mind already look at this emergency clams emergency clams what are emergency clams into the chip section zalagito [Music] huh [Music] oh what's happening this liquid death that is actually a real product that's one thing you can actually purchase say good night with corn pm it's a little phil cobb there horn pm what would you take corn at night for yeah there's the mind numbing amount of products i i don't even it's hard to even focus in on something peanut goo p2000 cracker spread just add baking soda slurp zone the slurp zone here let's see the goo coming down from oh you can either get angel slime or primordial ooze a little yeti figured out at the top it's a soup tower is that a camel made of soup cans let's see the little meow and healthy wolf together forming meowl why this happened because you were family meets freedom this is the the meat section here we got a little bust made of ground beef and oh my goodness look at this see the the scream in that i guess it's called nebula nebula low a little americanized to me some red white and blue steaks some wonderful gelatins oh my gosh this is so crazy [Music] and tangesita oh yeah look at this tattoo chicken it's raw chicken covered in tattoos birth of venus party platter am i the only one i don't know this is pretty mind-blowing you see these meat products some orange juice and uh oh looks like there's been some sort of reality distortion here in the dairy section moving through over oh goodness robot milk robot milk it looks so much like a normal grocery store but just you can see just so many odd and confusing things look at the name who who told you this was butter says wake up this perfect life is fake see another distortion in reality what is that melting [Music] what's this what's this oh wow what is in there what the heck hold this oh my god do you like music i love music oh okay wow oh what are apples i guess they're like apples but they're happier [Laughter] what mitosis the portals and the apples oh my god yes i did [Applause] thank you all right said to go get a drink see the soda cooler here all right we're heading into the cooler and you see the sodas are distorting around us where are we i guess this is the manager's office a bunch of books on area 51 yeah jackalope up there is this oh my oh my where are we [Music] this alpha service looks like it was a service station he somehow teleported through it's an old phone booth let's see if in this reality phones work we in seven monolith village [Music] okay oh look at this it's a skeleton covered in sea creatures i don't know what this machine is here this river is coming from this bulging thing right here the sign says come closer don't touch sort of industrial area oh what is this above us those giant hams never ending salad oh we're back we're we're back in a mega mart some whale song deodorant naturally boneless some sort of alternative food pyramid up there vanta dark urgent head back in here oh what was that oh oh you don't scare me that's okay though what is happening let's see these bag of chips morphing into something else creature in there actually see this is how layered everything is like this book here is just full of stuff like every little thing like connects somehow through like these manuals yeah look at this it's basically you know as deep as deep as you want to dwelve in so we could go up these stairs flowers in here what is that i don't know what this machine does here sit down oh there's there i am that's me i don't know what is happening wow oh my god [Music] all right it says right here strobe warning and watch your head [Music] like pictures of me being taken posted on the wall as we [Music] oh it is speeding up it's been faster this is crazy oh i feel like something bad's gonna happen oh oh my gosh looks like we've stepped maybe into some sort of corporate office [Music] hello [Music] oh okay where where are we now some sort of robot right here oh this is a human resources robot understand how do you feel how do i feel i feel overwhelmed but there are employee desks in the office that might be able to come so this is the office area we'll pull up to an employee desk right here please boop to access boop the desk of cecilia dram the uh vp of tomorrow mint what the heck oh you have an access card okay thank you and then you could just loop it oh poop it here oh boom thank you okay we are in um [Music] something really foreboding about this office space so the dram corp research team i guess this is where they create some of the wonderful products we see you know mega mart i believe that is a scale map of the factory area it's troubling oh look it did something to the apple using my using me see there's an employee sketching right there back in the grocery store if it's melted bag of groceries they're frosted a at the outdoor section little tent set up we have a little guy uh made out of a cooler there we have the tubular fire boom stick fire flavor we turn up the flavor of the fire turn it way up i guess oh that's a tasty fire simply burlap look at this leg it's a man's look oh stupidest animals guinea pig birthday for one weird dogs it's they're just it's a bag of horses weird dogs there's seriously so many layers here like just realize you can turn the products around and you read the backs there's stuff on here this is not really happening none of this is real okay now there is a a time travel themed uh convenience store in los angeles time art and i believe they have mammoth chunks too i wonder what if there's some connection you can buy some inevitability you know i i honestly don't know i think you can actually i think you can actually buy this stuff i think everything in here is actually for sale i don't know what is inside pierced potatoes honestly it's so overwhelming there's you know you have no you don't even really have a concept of how big this is and how many different parts there are it's you could i don't know you i feel like you could spend forever in here the garden section here but look at that that rose over the top rotating giant eyeball [Music] so the armed daffodil and something rose beef we are apparently in the uh employee micro break room it looks like we have a sad little break room here the leaky ceiling and pencils jammed in the ceiling all right let's try this our boob card here employee number employee you are the employee of the moment corridor boxes oh excuse me all right so just just go down i'm gonna actually have you have a seat first okay [Music] all right hand sanitizer [Music] missing person [Music] wow where even are we um let's go to the computer here here's our boot card to interact see it opens up marin's uh computer desk let's go to her photos mom at work charlie and me who's charlie wow you just stay in this room all day staring at the walls oh look at that that's charlie from the computer everything connects here it's been a lifetime connecting all the loose ends here at meow wolf this is not soup this is soft so you have implied chicken hints of husk the beauty section here the store like this see if we can what is what is going on look at that the personalized sodas are popular they have personalized bleach here patrice timothy george these aren't real names oh maybe some people are named biff lauren's a real name randall randall robra why would cabbages need sunglasses that's crazy what's with these tomatoes [Music] the 345th generation queen and onion impact corn see a drill made of corn with drill bits made out of corn salad america's forgotten vegetables it looks look wonderful these strawberry pretzels oh my gosh oh what's happening again [Music] reversible donut that makes sense we got lettuce flip-flops these aisle signs they say both normal and unusual things cleaners condiments new age barbecue bird mustard all right i wish you could stay forever but egg and omegamar so there is omega mark but there's still much going on here in area 15. this insane looking vehicle right here some other businesses here they have a dueling axes and an axe throwing bar like this is a restaurant here called the beast store called rocket fizz here is a very interesting moving sign [Music] oh wow another rocket right there looks like they primarily sell taffy let's see that wonderful tree there next to that i guess that's the pharmacy window of a mega mart i'm gonna check out another attraction here called wink worlds described as a psychedelic fun house all right so we have these psychedelic art gallery right there hello enjoying wink world here there's no touching inside so we're trying to get people to get that impulse out oh okay so go ahead and touch this as much as i want all right one the other way oh okay so spin one that way one this way oh yeah that's crazy all right step inside this will be your first roll okay okay i didn't know there was going to be music slinky dance oh they started to dance more fairly insane oh no your madness is [Music] [Music] but the presence has no duration it's infinitely small so it stands to reason that the closer you are to being in the moment the closer you are to being in the infinite the doors are always opening keep walking through them [Music] loved it thank you we're gonna try out a different attraction here museum fiasco it is a light based museum oh wow smells like a haunted house in here i've never been in a museum like this before looks like they have a zipline coaster called haley's comment oh there we go [Music] pretty fun oh boy not really sure what's back this way a little outside hangout area where people are playing corn hole and it looks like they've got a skating rink as well hope there's someone coming in on haley's comment there [Music] the tree over the bar is pretty amazing this skull in the front is pretty amazing pretty much just stand here and stare at the skull oh look at that oh something's happening [Music] you see the sculpture garden out front here kind of illuminated at night this shipping container is marked as an infinity ship i guess we will oh if we will head inside and see what an infinity ship is oh an infinity ship now i get it so that was area 15 and meow wolf's omega mart i'm still processing all of it the um omega mart so different from the meow wolf uh house of eternal return in santa fe new mexico completely different concept um the only really shared concept is the idea i guess of moving back and forth between kind of the front area this one being a grocery store and kind of this fantasy world and the other one it's like a house but a completely different vibe completely different experience i would recommend this to everyone this is a once-in-a-lifetime type attraction i guess both magnus are once-in-a-lifetime attractions two different once in a lifetime attraction i could not recommend this more this would go definitely into probably my top three um favorite attractions of all time i'm not sure really not sure which one i like more this or the one in santa fe but it is so amazing such a wonderful thing worth the wait i've been waiting they're supposed to obviously open the end of 2019 here it is beginning of 2021 and it's finally opened and it was well worth the wait so thank you so
