Mentalism/Prediction Trick That Will FOOL EVERYONE, Revealed! Tutorial by Spidey

this week we're learning a really powerful mentalism magic technique that you're gonna be able to use for some really powerful routines and i'm even gonna show you my favorite trick to do with it here we go welcome back to the channel everyone and first of all i want to apologize for not having posted on friday i had a bunch of things that i take care of i couldn't post on friday but i wanted to give you guys a tutorial this week anyways so i'm posting it today hope that still works for everyone today we're learning a really really powerful technique that is extremely versatile i'm going to show you all the different things you can do with it but i'm going to start with a performance of one of my favorite routines that i do with this technique so you could see it and i also want to welcome a very special guest on the channel for who i'm going to perform this her name is ekaterina she's an incredible youtuber she does cardistry she's so talented and she does a bunch of tutorials on her channel as well i will leave a link to her channel in the description so here it is the performance of what we're learning today for ekaterina welcome to the performance everyone and once again i'd like to welcome to the channel ekaterina did i nail it that was perfect really yeah feels really good so it's so exciting it's like super exciting i'm gonna do something for you with a deck of cards which is a prop that you're very familiar with because you are a cardist very familiar yet but this is gonna be cars there's gonna be something with with the mind a prediction there's a prediction inside that envelope now i've got the joker over here i'm going to set it down over there we'll come back to that in just a sec and i'll give these a bit of a shuffle and actually you know grab the joker take the joker and as i go through these cards ekaterina i want you to pop it in anywhere you like face up face yes face up like that wherever you like right there right there go ahead and pop that right in also i'm gonna ask you that's perfect right there do you want the card on top of it or beneath it beneath the one under it that one excellent now i want you to notice before we take a look at that card you could have put the joker anywhere here or there or there or there come on in with the camera i want you to see this it could have been absolutely anywhere any one of those but you put it right above that card could have been anywhere correct but you put it right there yeah i want you to take a look at the card that you placed the joker on top of that is the four of diamonds could have been anything right inside the envelope i had a prediction and i want you to see this that says four of diamonds okay what just happened like you said i would not be open this one are you serious hold on hold on we're gonna take it one step further because you might be thinking to yourself they're all four of diamonds i never showed you the deck i trusted you that they're not right right because because somebody might watch this and say they're all the same card here's the thing i'm gonna be honest they are all the same card but the thing is they're not the four of diamonds you see all the cards are the same but that is all just blank and you chose the only four of diamonds i mean i didn't even start drinking wine i have no idea like you're so funny because you're like such an expert with cards but there are certain things that don't overlap when it comes to mentalism obviously you have more knowledge than me and like the the stuff no idea i'm not yeah so i'm excited to learn this one actually i'm super excited to learn this one i hope you guys enjoyed that performance now before we jump into the explanation i want to say this i know that in the routine you just saw i ended with the blank deck at the end for that extra punch now of course you don't have to do this with the blank deck you could totally do it with a normal deck of cards but i just think that that routine with the blank deck at the end is really great super commercial and it gets great reaction so if you're interested in doing that version i'll leave a link in the description where you can get blank cards delivered to your door and you can do that routine exactly as i did it but today we're focusing on the technique the move that allows you to make them choose in a very fair manner the card you want them to choose like you saw in that performance it's a super versatile way to do it i absolutely love it and we're going to learn it now those of you who are cartridge connoisseurs will recognize that the technique i used is a variation of the spread force or call force which was popularized by johann huffstenzer and the way i learned it and the way a lot of magicians do it is while you spread the cards for them to pick one you secretly pull the bottom card like this under the spread and as you go through they can't see it and they touch one and you like square it up like this and add that card under it and show it to them like this now for me that never worked because when i try to call that bottom card i kind of look like i'm having some sort of epileptic seizure it just doesn't work for me i see a lot of magicians also do it this way where they take one card like this then they start spreading like this and that's how they get the card under there but again for me i'm not a huge fan of that i think it's a little more obvious and looks weird so i developed a way to do it and added an extra layer of a decision that they have at the last second that changes everything so from the top we're going to learn the way i do it here we go with the step-by-step tutorial of this incredibly powerful technique now before you have the cards in your hands do me a quick favor hit that subscribe button turn those notifications on for more amazing mentalism hypnosis and magic content also for this explanation i'm going to be using fox playing cards by ekaterina who was my spectator in the performance if you love these cards as much as i do check the description for a link on where to get them so with this technique you're forcing a card on your spectator using the joker what this means is that they're going to feel like they have a free choice of any card in the deck but you're influencing that choice for them to choose the one you want them to choose so in the trick that i did my prediction was the four of diamonds and that's the one i had to force now for this move you have to get the card that you're trying to force fifth from the top of the deck it has to be the fifth card down so here's how you do that in a really subtle way i've got the four of diamonds at the bottom of the deck now with the blank cards i just always have it there at the bottom ready to do the trick but if you're handed a deck of cards and you still want to do this basically as you go through looking for the joker you simply just place the joker down and then you see where the four of diamonds is and you cut it to the bottom like that and now you're ready to do the shuffle sequence to bring it fifth here's the shuffle sequence my left thumb peels that four of diamond and i shuffle the rest of the deck on top like this that puts the four of diamond at the top now i peel off four cards one two three four and drop the whole deck on top like that and that brings the four of diamonds one two three four fifth card from the top now that the four of diamonds is the fifth card from the top you're going to hand them the joker face up like this and you're gonna start spreading the cards while you tell them what to do it's very important that you talk because you're hiding the secret in the instructions so here's what happens you spread the top five cards like this and your right hand moves away with the top three cards and this is while you're talking my left middle finger and ring finger are going to contact the four of diamonds the fifth card down right there my left thumb is contacting the fourth card now as i come back to close this spread what's going to happen is my left thumb is going to pull that card back like this notice how that exposes the right edge of the four of diamonds but that happens while these cards come here at the moment they get here and notice how these three cards hide that and almost instantly when i get here my right ring and middle finger are gonna grab that four of diamonds that's almost instant and pull like this and open up and all the other cards are being spread under that four of diamonds i think this looks so much smoother and less suspicious than trying to get that card out of the bottom so again it's casual you're talking and it's in that moment of coming back see there it was again four diamonds is here now you spread through and they're gonna put that joker somewhere let's say they put it right here so you stop you open it up and they place it come here right here now you're gonna ask them a very important question in fact this question is what fooled the katarina because she hadn't seen this step before you're going to say do you want the card under the joker or above the joker and depending on what they say you're going to do something different if they say the card above the joker you're simply going to close everything up so see the four of diamonds is is here now i'm just going to put it on top of the joker and i'm going to close the deck up if they say under the joker here's what you're gonna do all the cards here except for the four are pushed further to the left so basically under the deck you're gonna do this you're gonna go catch that joker like that with the four of diamonds and then you're gonna close up so either you're putting the four of diamonds physically on top of the joker if they stay on top or you're just clipping the joker like this and then closing it up but you're not just closing it up for nothing you're closing it up to say this you got to give this a logical reason you close it up and you go now look you could have put the joker anywhere you could have put it here or there or there or there but you put it on top of this card and now you hand them that if they sit on top same situation you close it up it's on top you go you could have put it here or there or there or there or anywhere but you put it right under that card and you wanted the card on top correct there you go and now you force it in such a clean way now really quickly let's look at it with the blank cards not that there's a huge difference but this is my absolute favorite version and gets the best reactions at the end when they're all blank to a spectator that is a killer moment so if you want to do this version once again check the description for a link to where you can get blank cards like this delivered right to your door so again the four of them is at the bottom joker's on the table i take these out now of course you don't want to shuffle like this because they're going to see blanks in any other case with regular deck cards you could shuffle openly because they're gonna see cards going by in this case you're turning your body a little bit more to your right so they don't see the blanks but again one shuffle one two three four throw on top spread through say in a moment as i go through these cards i want you and i already have my four diamonds down there i want you to place that joker somewhere right there perfect do you want the card beneath it or the card above it the one above it wonderful but i want you to realize that you could have stopped anywhere and put that card anywhere at all could i put it here or there or there or there but you put it right there and you wanted the top the one above it right there you go that's your card that's it that's the sequence and then they turn the four of diamonds they look at their card you show your prediction or you could do it vice versa two you could show your prediction then dramatically turn the card over totally up to you then they react and you go but hold on the crazy thing is not only did you pick the four of diamonds but a lot of people think maybe i have all the same card they would be right these are all the same card but none of them are four of diamonds they're all blank and that is a killer moment for your spectators so
