worth the cost don't slow down going wonder if the gods are watching me how's it going everyone Roslin here so I put up a poll a while ago asking if you wanted to see balers Gate 3 videos from me and the majority of you said yes so let's kick things off with the build I used for a main character a Bard warlock multiclass because this was for my main character I did have a number of goals in mind with the build first of all I wanted the main character to be the face of the party handling all the dialogue options and I also wanted them to be able to handle a wide range of situations both in and out of battle and for this The Bard was a perfect fit it scales well with Charisma gets both jack of all trades and expertise to help with ability checks and learns a decent number of spells that can be used in a wide variety of situations by adding warlock to the mix a a number of additional synergies also present themselves warlock adds warlock spells and spell slots that refresh on a short rest which synergizes well with The Bard's song of rest and it also uses Charisma for its spellcasting modifier just like The Bard you also get access to eldrich blast a strong ranged option and by taking the warlocks packed to the blade and Bard's College of Swords an incredibly potent melee play style opens up as well all in all the combination of these two classes provided a lot of the versatility I was looking for allowing me to adapt to many situations regardless of which companions I chose to bring with me so with that explanation of the build out of the way let's take a look at the decisions I made level by level before that though I did just want to mention that this build does not require any specific pieces of gear to function but there is one really nice pair of gloves you can obtain in act one that if used Alters how we distribute our ability points and those are the gloves of dexterity these can be purchased from the Quarter Master inside to GI Yankee Crush during act one and equipping them sets your dexterity score to 18 if you don't have these or you choose to give them to another character I recommend setting your starting ability scores to 8 16 14 10 10 and 16 however if you do want to use these for this build like I did drop dexterity to eight and redistribute those points to Constitution intelligence and wisdom for an 8 8 16 12 14 16 distribution all right on to level one for level one I started with The Bard picking up vicious mockery and friends as my two cantrips and for spells I chose to grab healing word and cure wounds for some healing support speak with animals so I could well speak with animals and disguise self in case I wanted to permanently borrow items from a vendor for your starting instrument it really doesn't matter what you pick but I chose the flute because it has the lowest profile and my ability scores were set as stated earlier first using the layout that only drops strength until I got the gloves of dexterity after which I respect and dropped dexterity as well doing so let me grab 16 Constitution for more health and for ease of maintaining concentration on spells and the extra points in intelligence and wisdom for other various skill checks I chose to put more into wisdom specifically for perception when exploring the world speaking of which for my skill proficiencies I chose slide of hand for lockpicking perception for exploration and deception for dialogue at level two I took my second level of Bard gaining access to song of rest and jack of all trades and for spells I took long strider for more movement and battle but feel free to take different spells or even cantrips for that matter at any of these levels if there is something else you prefer moving on to level three I continued with The Bard and chose the College of Swords subclass giving me access to Blade flourish letting me spend a baric inspiration to deal extra damage and get benefits such as a plus four to Armor class for one turn for the two skills that Bard gets expertise in at level three I chose persuasion and perception and for my spell I took lesser restoration so that in addition to offing my main character could also cure some satus elments if necessary and finally I took dueling for the fighting style I got access to for for being a college of Swords barred since my plan was to use a one-handed weapon and shield for most my playthrough continuing on with the trend of taking utility at level four I chose Mage hand for my can trip and featherfall for my spell and then I used my feet to pump my Charisma up to 18 by taking ability Improvement level five saw improvements to Bic inspiration and song of rest and gave me access to level two spells from which I chose to take silence level six is a huge level for a college of Swords bar as I finally got access to extra attack really improving my main character's damage output I also took my first damaging spell and shatter here as I found myself wanting instantaneous AOE damage often at that point in the game finally at level seven I diverged from Bard and jumped into warlock picking up the incredibly powerful eldrich blast cantrip as well as bone shill for some extra utility against enemies that liked to heal for my subass I took the fiend but this build doesn't take enough warlock levels for this to be super impact Act full so any subass works and then for my two warlock spells I took arms of Hadar and hex at level eight I took my second level of Warlock and picked up armor of agius for my spell and then I got to choose my two eldrich invocations agonizing blast was an easy pick to help power up eldrich blast and for my second I chose Devil's sight letting me see in darkness up to 24 M but more importantly in magical darkness and that was because at level 9 I took my third level of Warlock and grabbed the darkness spell which when combined with Devil's sight and defensive flourish from Bard turned my main character into a dodging fiend that could literally solo tough enemies and even bosses but Darkness wasn't the only powerful thing that a third level warlock provided me this was when I got access to pack to the blade which gives me bind packed weapon this allows me to bind whatever weapon is currently in my main hand to me making it magical making me proficient with it if I'm not and causing me to use my Charisma modifier instead of my strength or dexterity modifier for attack rolls at level 10 I went ahead and took another level of warlock where I picked up blade Ward for my can trip but the main reason I took a fourth level of warlock was to get access to Misty step for more maneuverability and battle and so I could pick up a second feat choosing to take ability Improvement in order to boost my Charisma to 20 finally to round the build out I decided to multiclass one more time this time into fighter doing so gave me another fighting style with which I chose Defender for the extra plus one to Armor class but the real benefit to dipping into fighter came at level 12 fighter level two where I got access to action Surge and that's the build for me this worked out very well and while it's not a top damaging build or anything super broken I did find it to be very solid providing a lot of Versatility both in and out of combat and not being reliant on having any specific pieces of gear with the only small kind of exception to that being the gloves of dexterity you can find in act one there is also room for customization here as the core parts of the build are actually only the six levels of Bard and three levels of warlock so those last three levels could be moved around to other places if you wanted to experiment with it anyways if you have any questions about the build or any other game that I cover feel free to hit me up over on Twitch at twitch.tv/ rosing gaming or my Discord server both of which are linked in the video description below and of course if you like the video and like the build please be sure to like and consider subscribing to the channel if you haven't already and until next time take care
