Mario Speedrun, but every 5 minutes the HUD gets worse

speed running is too easy so today i'm gonna play the entirety of mario odyssey from start to finish but every five minutes i'm gonna spin a wheel pick a random video game and add the hud from that game on top of mario odyssey so that by the end it might look something like this which means to beat it i'll have to play the best mario odyssey of my life so you can see here this is like my best speedrun time 1 hour 11 minutes 21 seconds do i get a pb is this the best mario speedrun of my life oh god there's so much delay holy [ __ ] i don't think i've played in obs before on an actual speed run i think clearly what needs to happen is to make very strong progress in the first like 20 minutes right okay we're almost at time okay now we just need to make a new hud for this video game give me i want like a nice iconic one runescape's pretty iconic so i've not played runescape ever [ __ ] wait hold on this is too much right do i need to put this whole thing old school runescape is like 50 hud get rid of chat okay this is still a lot dude this is such an aggressive hud right off the beginning i think if i can keep the pace quick on cascade sand wood lake that'll actually set me up really really well three two one god that's a lot of the screen as long as i move the camera to kind of like basically treat the game as a smaller game then we're fine as this goes on i need people to keep a running track of what the name of this game now is what i pressed the thing dude i swear that one was the delay i promise you that one was the delay all right very very efficient speed run timing there the delay is actually nice because i can blame every single mistake on obs and not me being bad at this game like that that was not on obs if i get like a mellow hood here i think we're fine i just need the first few worlds to not be too bad okay persona 5. i feel like should be this the date at the top left i mean this is not the hud this is a character i would define the hud as like a persistent thing that is present at all times now this game that we're playing is called super sona mario escape odyssey 5. super persona odysseyscape5 you got an mo what are you saying oh i actually starting to get used to the delay so hopefully i will continue to be less shitty which will be equalized by the hud getting worse teleport is only two percent i don't even know what hud element you guys are talking about oh charge okay okay i've really been ignoring the objectives i really need to know how much money i have i know it's not five hundred thousand three hundred twenty eight dollars it's some number of coins where are you getting 79 oh 79 up there got it got it okay so i have some number of coins 500 000 38 328 and also 79 it is going to be okay we're adding red dead redemption 2. okay so we have another mini map plus guns at the top right there are so many maps use the horse the horse is not part of the hud dude you could sort of make a stupid unconvincing argument that the map is not part of the hud you cannot convince me that this horse is part of the heads-up display that doesn't make any sense i'm not eating the horse i'll add a tiny horse i'll add him in very small somewhere pole for full horse now mario's riding it during the final section with bowser i will allow the horse to be full size on the screen 30 minutes in i'm probably like a third of the way through this speed run at least a third of the screen is covered i like where this is going all right i'm going to do the skip here we go bam bam bam bam bam planned dude it's actually heart this is stupid runescape where is the hat i can't see it because of runescape check the map how are we doing time no god i'm not ah this is fine we're fine we're doing fine i'm only seven compensate for the delay better and better i am almost playing the best mario odyssey in my life oh my god i'm amazing i would never be able to make this jump if i didn't know how many estes flasks i had okay i don't know where mario is but i do know that it's monday put miyamoto on the gun acorn okay is a gunner corn really a dark souls boss if it doesn't have miyamoto riding atop him gloriously [Music] i keep getting distracted by the gunner corn he just it looks so happy now if i can get done with new donk by the end of this five minute block that'll be great this game is very ominous with the cross hair it's like we are trying to hunt down and kill mario well that's maybe what miyamoto wanted the whole time after all he does ride a gun acorn well i guess the dramatic music does make supposed to see mario's health accurately with only six health bars the best part is that we can't see mario's health his actual health is covered up by the objectives to charge the teleporter do i have enough money does anybody actually know how much money i have this is important i'm gonna go to lake first because i think i don't have enough money but i can't tell because all i know is that i have five hundred thousand dollars seventy nine dollars i need a hundred mario coins not what other not all the currencies that are here yo five honey i don't think they take honey in this game they'll be like all right it's a hundred coins did you accept honey team fortress 2 give me a moto a gun all right maybe we'll give me a mode of the gun does this work with miyamoto [Music] no not at without cappy being there it is actually really hard now to see where my targets are dude where where the [ __ ] am i going get on the damn payload i'm on the payload it says 1x where the [ __ ] is everything i'm actually like completely lost i can't see the map i can't see in general is this the right direction check the mini map okay i think i can get the star first check this out [Music] or to actually be able to see what's going on and then we're good i don't know why i'm squinting as though that's gonna like help new hud oh i thought we were getting among us for a second there that would have been classic i don't know if i'm gonna have room for this getting runescape screwed me so badly what if all the healthcare stuff moves into the middle and then everything else shifts to the outside okay because now banjo kazooie's stupid face goes up health bar moves here i've shifted the thin bar type of hud stuff into the center with the hope that it'll be like looking through one of those glasses it'll be like looking through these stunner shades right like i'm looking through blinds i think it's stupid and just stupid enough to work you should wear stunner shades and play mario with this hood no no no um i'm playing on easy mode i think this is sort of working it's like if my neighbor is playing mario odyssey and i'm watching outside of their house peeking through the curtains trying to play hey that looks pretty fun can i come in there hey you guys playing mario odyssey in there it'd be easier for me to play if i could just come in sir i'm pretty good if i can see the game sir sir i need a simple one dude i need a nice simple hud right now mario 64. classic oh this is kind of a lot i don't know i don't know if we're i don't know why did miyamoto and his gunnacorn have to make gigantic hud elements in 1996 or whatever this was there's so much little wasted space everywhere that i want to utilize but i can't because all the shapes are horrible so i think we have to overlap i don't want to shrink anything i think the main rule of overlap is you should not cover the key visual element of the hud oh yeah it's coming together i've got so many health can't tell because uh i it's monday i literally don't know if i can beat this game with this challenge okay which kingdom hearts now we need donald and we have lots of space for these guys welcome to the party donald goofy and i'm pressing the right buttons but because i have no id i'm just kind of guessing when to press them because there's no visual input we should proceed with caution donald duck is low on hp true okay i'm adding in rosa now you guys finally have something to watch onto the final world and i can still see a tiny bit of this video game oh i can see rosa hi rosa moon cave skip is definitely the hardest remaining thing for people who do not know this is a very technical skip which is very important because you skip an extremely gigantic portion of this level holy [ __ ] i did it i think i could beat this i'm ready give me strength rosa oh god okay oh no i'm having a hard time seeing what on earth is happening holy i was using echolocation like a bat somebody's been suggesting this from the beginning but maybe moving the transparent items to the center and having a little bit of vision of what's going on could be exactly what we need the whole time here's what i did i took the center cluster elements the horizontal blinds and i moved them up here then i took the transparent maps and i moved them into the center so the center is completely covered now but i might be able to see through it and see what bowser is doing and i made shigeru miyamoto really angry at me i thought the big ass maps even though they were slightly transparent would be the death of this run and instead they're going to be the savior here we go actually a little bit better holy [ __ ] i can kind of see what's happening now [Music] well emphasis on kinda i have the tiniest window into bowser's soul holy [ __ ] i'm doing it and it's only because i can use these very helpful maps to see where i'm going never mind i think i just punched my way to the end now right after punching through these walls i'm now at the final room of the game you have to knock down four pillars and a big cube in the center all while dodging the gigantic holes that are falling apart in the floor it's a good thing i'm on easy mode final room you know what time it is gunnicorn time the last final element i'm covering up some valuable real estate here this is not a good idea please please let me win i just have to get lucky and not fall in a crevice i need gunna corn to be gone gunnicorn is too powerful shigeru miyamoto on the gunacorn is an angry and powerful god but we've appeased him enough that we can make him slightly smaller oh my god no i had it i hit it and then i jumped in a hole what the [ __ ] there's no way no i jumped in that same hole ah i can do it this was supposed to be a funny meme stream this is the most intense mario i've played i've gotten like literally one jump away twice so i know it's doable column number two all right after third column i'm going to the wall wait it changed it changed the camera oh my god oh my god please please right it's gonna end right at 2 30. and so after hours and hours of brutal mario odyssey easy mode i had finally beat a full speed run in just over two hours and no no hold on i have to add another hud technically i haven't beaten it yet hey tetris welcome to the party let's go 230.03 yeah and i did it with almost full
