[Music] welcome to the prayer of the rosary today we have a lot to pray for the world is in turmoil we are a lot of us are fearful but there are a lot of people suffering especially in the ukraine to my friends in the ukraine and russia we're praying for you we're thinking of you for everyone in europe this is a critical time and the rest of the world this is why we need to turn to the lord this is why we as a community as a believing community as the church need to reach out to god for mercy we need to cry out to god through the intercession of mary for breakthrough that the world leaders will listen to the still small voice of the holy spirit to respond to peace god is a god of mercy and a god of love and he's going to use us right here right now to pray for these people you see prayer matters prayer counts prayer works and this is what we're going to do we're going to offer our prayers through the intercession of mary today is saturday so we're praying the joyful mysteries and ironic i guess praying joyful mysteries but it is also powerful because we can maintain joy still through turmoil we pray for joy in the world we pray for peace and so let's begin this time of prayer praying for our world leaders and praying for the church as well and praying that the church as a whole will stand up and pray will fall to our knees and cry out to god for mercy and so we begin in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen lord god we thank you for this opportunity to bring our prayers and our petitions to you lord we believe in you we proclaim our faith in you we believe that you are lord we believe lord that you died and rose again and because of that you give us the power to reach into your holy of holies to a place of breakthrough lord we trust in you and we offer you at this moment the needs of the ukraine also that you soften the heart of all the leaders involved that we may choose peace in jesus name our father who art in heaven peace in this time of need we pray for everyone in the ukraine that you give them peace and comfort and consolation embrace them and hold them those in russia lord those civilians who are struggling
