to wow we come together to pray to pray for peace peace in our violent and very conflicted world we are praying today specifically for peace in the ukraine and that very christian land that is so torn by war and by violence we pray for peace on this ash wednesday a day when we begin our season of lent when we do penance and redouble our prayer and reparation for sin war is always a consequence of sin so we come together to pray that the lord might heal us of our sins that he might might heal the violence in ukraine that our brothers and sisters there might be restored to a peaceful land to the fullness of the practice of their christian faith let us pray that god might soon bring an end to this horrendous war we begin the season of lent mourning our sins and so we will pray the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen i believe in god the father almighty creator of heaven and earth and in jesus christ his only son our lord who is conceived by the holy spirit born of the virgin area suffered under pontius pilate was crucified died and was buried he descended into hell on the third day he rose again from the dead he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of god the father almighty and then he shall come to judge the living and the dead believe in the holy spirit the holy catholic church the
