Live Rosary with Fr. Rob Galea (Sorrowful Mysteries)

I'd like to welcome you to this prayer of the Rosary the Rosary is one of the most powerful prayers we have I love praying the rosary especially at those times when I find it really difficult to connect with God one of the things I love about the Rosary is that it's a prayer of surrender it's a prayer of saying god I just entrust my needs and the needs of this world to you very often we want to be in control of our prayer we want to be in control of how we pray what we pray for but during the Rosary were actually allowing God to do whatever he wants through the intercession of Mary Mary who actually knows what we need because she knows God she listens to God she knows what we need more than we could know it ourselves this is more than just a prayer of intercession but it's also a prayer of surrender but also it's a meditation so one side of our brain is praying this the this mystery and meditating on the mystery while the other is reciting something there's something soothing something quite ancient about the Rosary and so as we pray this rosary let's surrender to the Lord our needs let's ask God through the intercession of Mary let's ask that all the needs of this world will be answered prayers not that we want to pray for not even for ourselves even during this prayer let's not even think about ourselves and our own needs let's pray for others and that we know that others are also praying for you as the circle comes around and during this time we're going to pray to sorrowful mysteries five beautiful mysteries mysteries that remind us that we are in need of God we are need of his mercy but also that we have received His grace and His mercy so as we begin this time of prayer let's just bring ourselves into the press of a loving God so we come to our Lord in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit amen I believe in God the Father Almighty Creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord was conceived by the Holy Spirit born of the Virgin Mary suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified died and was buried he descended into the dead the third day he rose again from the dead he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead I believe in the Holy Spirit the Holy Catholic Church the communion of saints the forgiveness of sins the resurrection of the body and life everlasting amen and so we'll pray for the intentions of the Pope our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will agony in the garden Jesus sweat blood he was so anxious and he just wanted to run away from the pain he said Lord the father if it is your will please take this child away from me but he stayed that he sweat blood he was anxious he was scared he was afraid and he felt alone and for those we're gonna pray for those who do feel alone especially those who are struggling because of sickness because they are abandoned those who are elderly those who feel anxious and have and suffer from anxiety and pain in their lives will pray for them our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy the scripture says by your stripes I am healed Jesus took the stripes the scourging so that we could be healed we pray especially those who need physical healing those who have got a difficult diagnosis those who are struggling physically in pain and suffering we pray for them also pray for the intentions that you are writing as well and bringing forward during this live stream Lord Jesus Joseph pray for us when I pray the third sorrowful mystery which is the crowning of thorns Jesus took the poison that was in the crown of thorns thorns that would have pierced his skin but plants that would have carried that poison went into his head I often think about the pain and the agony that would of course but also this is what Jesus did for us he took the poison of this world and he purified our mind he took upon this death this pain this sickness so that we could be free we pray for those who have mental who are struggling mentally have a mental and pain and sickness but we also pray for also struggling from addiction those who need purity of mind and those who are especially was also struggling with with purity and so we pray for this grace and also with this disgrace of
